Northern oblasts

Kyiv

The russian military attacked Kyiv and the Oblast at night. Explosions rang out in the capital. Air defense forces destroyed all enemy drones. It passed without casualties or damage.

The newly appointed Defense Commander of Denmark, General Michael Wiggers Hildgaard, arrived in Kyiv. He met with Chief of Staff Sirsky and Minister of Defense Umierov. The parties discussed the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in various directions and ways and opportunities for further support from the Danish government.

There are no plans to open the beach season in the capital. Residents are advised to refrain from visiting the beaches for safety reasons to avoid large crowds. It is noted that this may also prevent unimpeded access to shelters.

Chernihiv Oblast

During the day of April 22, the russians attacked three border communities in the Oblast with mortars and unguided aerial missiles. No casualties have been reported.

Modular shelters were installed at public transport stops in Chernihiv. New shelters are now available for use.

Sumy Oblast

182 explosions during the day. The Russian army shelled six communities of the Sumy Oblast. On April 22, two people were injured and a residential building was damaged as a result of artillery shelling in one of the villages of the Velyka Pysarivka community.

In the morning, the russian military dropped ammunition from a drone on the Velyka Pysarivka community. Consequences are clarified.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The russians hit Vovchansk with four guided aerial bombs late yesterday evening. Houses are damaged .

During the day, the russians caused four fires with shelling. In Vovchansk and Zmiivka communities, dry land was burning, in Derhachivka – an economic structure, in the Vovchansk Raion – machinery.

In Velyky Burluk, a woman was injured as a result of an air strike. P private houses and a building of a private enterprise were damaged in the village.

During the day, a woman was injured in Kupiansk-Vuzlovy. In Yurchenkove, an excavator caught fire and a man died as a result of being hit by a russian munition.

In total, five communities were hit by airstrikes during the day.

This afternoon, the russians hit Kharkiv with a guided aerial bomb. The ammunition hit the ground on the territory of the private sector. Five private houses and two cars were damaged.

62 children and their families were evacuated from separate settlements of the Izium and Kharkiv raions.

Due to the attack of the russian federation on the TV tower in Kharkiv and the Oblast, there is no digital broadcast signal, but there is radio, Internet and mobile communication in the Oblast.

Trains in the Kharkiv metro are temporarily not running due to a lack of voltage in the network. The metro works as a shelter.

In Kharkiv, on Easter, May 5, it will not be possible to visit city cemeteries and memorial complexes.

Donetsk Oblast

The russian army conducted 15 shelling attacks over the last day, targeting eight towns and villages in the Donetsk Oblast. Some residential buildings were damaged.

Two people were killed and one wounded in the oblast as a result of russian shelling on April 22. In total, 1,933 people have been killed and 4,821 wounded since the beginning of the invasion, apart from the victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha.  

The russian army attempted to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Army in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts more than 70 times over the past day. Most of the assaults and attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense were conducted in the Novopavlivka and Avdiivka sectors.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

This morning, the russian army shelled the town of Kostiantynivka, hitting the center of the town and wounding five people – the driver of a car and four passengers who were going down the street at the time of the shelling attack. Several private houses and a power line were damaged.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

The russian army shelled Selydove in the Donetsk Oblast tonight, damaging 14 private houses and power lines.

Russian troops are trying to gain a foothold in the southern part of Ocheretyne in the Avdiivka sector. Most of the settlement is controlled by the Defense Forces.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

The russian forces attacked the Mykolaiv Oblast with artillery and drones over the past day. Two educational institutions, houses, cars, and a power line were damaged. 

On the night of April 23, four Shahed 131/136 UAVs were destroyed in the Mykolaiv Oblast. One man was reported injured as a result of crashing of a downed UAV in Ochakiv.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian army conducted 514 attacks on six towns and villages in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast over the course of April 22.

Three russian attacks were repelled by the defense forces in the Orikhiv sector, in particular in the areas of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk Oblast and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
