Ukraine in Brief:
Russian occupation troops continue with their redeployment measures. The enemy has not abandoned the objective of establishing complete control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. It also attempts to improve the positions of its units in the south.
Russian military continues withdrawing their military equipment by rail and the army cargo planes from Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts onto the territory of belarus. At the same time, movements of individual belarusian military units have been registered in the direction of the national border of Ukraine.
The enemy siege of a particular specific area in Kharkiv Oblast continues. The invaders in Velykyi Burluk, Proline, and Fedorivka search for pro-Ukrainian-minded residents and illegally detain them.
In Izyum, russian aggressors are fabricating a base of evidence of alleged crimes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). For this, they are shelling the town to create a pretext of ‘documenting.’ In the direction of Donetsk, russian occupation troops, supported by its air force and artillery, continue their offensive against Mariupol.
Residents are detained on temporarily occupied territories of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. In Tokmak, the staff of local health care institutions is forced to sign the so-called ‘contracts’ with the russian’s health ministry.
Northern oblasts
Kyiv
Residents of the capital and its suburbs are advised to wait for one more week before returning. The de-mining of territories near Kyiv is underway; the threat of another yet missile strike is still looming.
Kyiv Oblast
With each passing day, more and more bodies of peaceful civilians killed by the russian army are being found in the Oblast. The exact number of casualties is yet to be known, but the current figure is already close to one thousand. Russia is planning to redeploy its military, who were involved in the carnage in Bucha, back onto the territory of Ukraine, Ukrainian intelligence reports.
Bodies of children with torture and rape marks have been discovered in Irpin.
Zhytomyr Oblast
The Oblast is calm. A memorial service for Mykhailo Rovenko, a serviceman from 95 Stormtroopers Brigade who perished on April 2nd while on a combat mission, has been held in Zhytomyr.
The Animal Protection Center, Communal Enterprise, will accept requests for pet food for stray animals. The aid for street, abandoned animals, and those looked after by custodians is provided by Polish volunteers.
Chernihiv Oblast
An air alarm is sounding. During the clearing of the territory near Chernihiv, the positions of russian service members were found. They “dug in” in the forest belt.
Units of the State Border Guard Service of the Joint Forces Command “Siversk” have crossed the state border of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast and are guarding the state border. The Head of the Oblast Military Administration said that it was not worth returning to the city yet. Chernihiv is partially limited: power cables are cut, and there is no water supply. Demining of territories where russian occupation troops were stationed is being carried out.
Yesterday, aid from the Ministry of Health and UNICEF arrived in Chernihiv. Generators, medicines, consumables, and equipment were brought in five trucks.
The Chernihiv Veterinary and Sterilization Center, “Step to Animals”, reported that 26 animals died of cardiac arrest due to fear of explosions, and 1 animal died from injuries sustained by shelling.
In Chernihiv Oblast, a family exploded on a russian anti-tank mine. Two people died, and two others are in critical condition.
Sumy Oblast
Air alarms are heard during the day. In Sumy, residents paid tribute to defender Yevhen Kovalchuk, who died in Chernihiv Oblast. The bodies of three civilians tortured by the russian military were found in the Konotop Raion.
In the residential sector of Trostyanets, pyrotechnics found antipersonnel mines, tripwire mines, and shells from rocket-propelled grenade launchers, which remained after the occupation of the city by the russian military.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers fired 54 strikes from various long-range weapons: artillery strikes, mortar, tank shelling, and MLRS shelling. The districts of Saltivka, Pyatihatka, Oleksiyivka, Kholodna Hora, Derhachi, Barvinkove, and Chuguiv were affected.
There are victims of yesterday’s shelling in Kharkiv and Chuguev among the civilian population. In Kharkiv and the district – 4 people died, 3 people were hospitalized. In the Chuguiv district – 2 people died, 5 people were injured. During the day, the occupiers damaged houses, cars, and agricultural machinery in Barvinkovo. During the battles for Mala Rohan, the occupiers used phosphorus and thermobaric ammunition.
In Kharkiv Oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) destroyed a reconnaissance and attack helicopter of the russian troops Ka-52 “Alligator”.
In Kharkiv, the russians destroyed the eco park. From there, the animals are taken to safe places. Thus, the Dnipro local authorities will take some of the animals from the Kharkiv “Feldman – Ecopark” to the city. Volunteers rescued 10 horses from shelling and transported them from Kharkiv Oblast to Dnipro. Another 20 horses are in line.
Donetsk Oblast
Kramatorsk
The situation in the city is tense and anxious. During the night, russian occupation forces destroyed the railway line between Kramatorsk and Slovyansk by airstrikes. Repair works are underway. The evacuation route has been restored, but there have been large crowds and queues for evacuation due to the delay. Russian occupation troops also launched an airstrike. The bomb hit the school, and the building was almost destroyed.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In Avdiivka, due to the russian shelling, 2 people were killed, and 4 others were injured, including one child. 3 people were injured in Heorgiyivka, 1 in Novoselivka and 1 in Vozdvyzhenka. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) repel the enemy. Representatives of the Territorial Defense Forces and the police are on duty. Utilities operate on a full-time basis.
Pokrovsk received medication. Hospitals in the Myrnograd Community also received medical assistance. Humanitarian aid in the Pokrovsk Community is distributed among vulnerable groups.
Mariupol
During the night of March 5th, the russian occupation troops shelled Mariupol from ships once again. They also hit a civilian ship of the Dominican Republic in Mariupol port. A crew member is injured.
Luhansk Oblast
In Rubizhne, the russian military hit a tank with nitric acid. Residents are urged not to leave the shelters and close doors and windows.
Southern oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The situation remains tense. The russian military continues to shell civilian infrastructure. In Huliaipole, the shelling damaged St. Tykhon Zadonskyi Church and cabinet-type gas control point №9, as a result of which the gas supply was cut off. A fire broke out in an art school in the village of Inzhenerne, Polohy Raion, caused due to the shelling by the occupation troops. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. In the temporarily occupied city of Polohy, the occupiers seized and mined the inner territory of the Central District Hospital. There are injured russian soldiers.
Due to damaged electric transmission lines, towers, and equipment, 67 settlements are partially or entirely left without electricity in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Problems with a gas supply are recorded in 52 territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 48 settlements of Berdyansk and Melitopol Raions are completely disconnected from the gas supply.
There is a humanitarian catastrophe in the occupied territories. There is a lack of food, medicine, and hygiene products. The russian occupation troops block the delivery of humanitarian aid and block the departure and evacuation of civilians. The situation is difficult in Kamyanskyi, Poholy, Vesele, Nesteryanka, and Bilmak (Kamyanets). Zaporizhzhia continues to operate as a logistics and humanitarian hub. Humanitarian cargo for animals arrived from Slovenia today.

The situation in Oblast and the city remains tense. The abduction of civilians and heads of units continues in Kherson Oblast. The fate of many people remains unknown. Today, russians went to private homes in nearby villages and Skadovsk, gathering any information. There are russian checkpoints in Skadovsk and the community in all directions.
The situation in the city continues to be disappointing. ATMs and banks do not work. There is very little food left, and there is no sugar, salt, butter, canned food, or household chemicals. Farmers help with vegetables, fruit, and meat. Bread is baked. Many shops are closed. Almost all pharmacies do not work because no medicine is nothing left. Volunteering gathers more and more people, and they help as much as they can.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Last night, the villages of Maryanske (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) and Novovorontsovka (Kherson Oblast) and nearby settlements were shelled with “Grads”. No one was injured, and citizens were evacuated to Kryvyi Rih. According to Zelenodolsk Mayor Dmytro Neveselyi, the community’s territory was shelled with banned phosphorous shells.
Two missiles with cluster mines were fired at the territory of Velyka Mykhailivka Community, Donetsk Oblast. One woman died as she picked up a cluster mine. According to the Head of the Oblast Council, this is the third death in the Raion caused by careless handling of ammunition.
At night the air defense systems of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast shot down two cruise missiles over the territory of Synelnykove Raion. The Head of the Oblast State Administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, asks the residents to urgently provide trucks to fortify the Oblast and looks for appropriate drivers.
Currently, there are no russian occupation troops in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The situation is under control in all settlements. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, police detained the russian who had settled a week before the war and could have been involved in hostile activities. In Kryvyi Rih, police detained four citizens who may be involved in cooperation with russia. In Pavlohrad, gangsters were detained for attacking the Territorial Defense Forces representatives. 3 russian saboteurs were detained in Dnipro.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has hosted 35000 migrants and is ready to host more.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Kropyvnytskyi
There were air raids, and there was a missile strike threat. The situation is calm and controlled. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and Territorial Defense Forces guard the Oblast’s borders and military facilities. The fallen heroes of the Novoukrainska Community were awarded the title of Honorific (“Pochesnykh”) Citizens. This decision provides the provision of one-time financial assistance to the families of war victims.
With the joint work of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council and the humanitarian mission of the Samaritan’s Bag International Organization and local authorities in the city, a modern medical outpatient clinic was opened on the campus of the Central Ukrainian National Medical University.
Kropyvnytskyi is working to create educational opportunities and help internally displaced peoples (IDPs) to adapt. Creative Space has been created, and it is planned to be a place of interesting meetings, including activities for adaptation, relaxation, creative workshops, and individual consultations with psychologists.
Poltava Oblast
The situation in the Oblast is under control. There were three alarms, but everything was calm, thanks to the Ukrainian military. More than 1300 railway cars belonging to russian and belarusian companies were found in the Oblast. They want to nationalize them. Two religious communities of the Moscow Patriarchate have joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The Mayor of Poltava met by video conference with the initiator of the “Cities 4 cities” platform, which was initiated by the President of the House of Local Government of the Congress of the Council of Europe, Bernd Föringer. “Cities 4 cities” is that European cities are ready to help the municipalities of Ukraine, both in difficult wartime and during reconstruction. Since Poltava is on the verge of hostilities and accepts many IDPs, there is a need for support from European cities. Since the beginning of the war, more than 1.5 million residents of the eastern oblasts have been evacuated through green corridors through the territory of Poltava Oblast. The importance and main idea of the platform were discussed with the mayor of the German city of Sindelfingen.
In Poltava, places have been created to help internally displaced teenagers and families. Within the project “Together. For young people,” teenagers will be able to receive basic humanitarian aid, socio-emotional support, psychological counseling, and attend optional classes in the school curriculum.
Poltava Oblast received humanitarian aid. In particular, ventilators, medicines, medical devices, and hygiene products. They will be transferred to hospitals in Poltava and the Oblast.
Volunteers of the Poltava Battalion of Indifferent and other volunteer associations purchased and handed over 75 thermal imagers, 40-night vision devices, 6 cars, 70 walkie-talkies, and 60 bulletproof vests to the military and terrorists. In addition, they bought and transferred to various departments in Poltava Oblast and the front other necessary things. In total – 158 optical devices, 155 units of equipment and gadgets, 527 sets of protective and other equipment.
Vinnytsia Oblast

The community was calm, and there was no fighting. People are shocked by the events in Bucha and other cities near Kyiv. Many IDPs from the Kyiv Oblast in Zhmerynka are all in mourning.
Western Oblasts
Lviv Oblast
The day in Lviv Oblast passed quietly. Personal stories of soldiers of Territorial Defense Forces were published today. In the Lviv Oblast, residents are temporarily prohibited from visiting forests and entering their territory.
Since February 24th, Ukraine has received more than 4 million PLN in assistance from the Lublin Voivodeship. Poland continues to support. Another 2500 people were resettled in all raions of the Oblast. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion – 283 thousand. The Oblast has another 18000 vacancies in state and municipal institutions and 2000 in the private sector.
Drohobych
There were four air raid alerts and the threat of missile strikes. In addition to local schoolchildren, 410 internally displaced children have already joined Drohobych lyceums and gymnasiums.
According to Bohdan Voloshyn, Head of the Drohobych City and District Employment Center, the labor exchange has several vacancies for entrepreneurs and certain institutions looking for skilled workers.
A volunteer psychiatrist from New York conducted group sessions for people who feel anxious and unable to cope with their experiences in connection with the full-scale russian war against Ukraine and covered 50 IDPs. The specialist showed the methods of her work and provided individual consultations.
Rivne Oblast
Rivne
The situation was relatively calm, and there were two air alarms. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) patrol the border with belarus. Representatives of the Territorial Defense Forces are patrolling and on duty at checkpoints. This night, two enemy targets were shot down by air defense forces, said Vitaliy Koval, Head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration, material on Public Rivne. Citizens are united, helping volunteer headquarters.
In ten days, Rivne received 52 tons of international aid.
Utilities are working, and potholes are being repaired for roads of international and national importance.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

The situation in the Oblast and the city is under control. Police visited a family of IDPs from Irpin who settled in a village in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast. The youngest son in the family named, Leon, with his performance of the Sichovy Striltsi Anthem “Oy u Luzi Chervona Kalyna” (“Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow”), touched the hearts of all Ukrainians and gave millions of adults faith in victory.
Law enforcement officers brought various delicacies to the children. Locals help families and give children fresh milk, cheese, and more.
Based on Khmelnytskyi Vocational Lyceum, free training for IDPs in the profession of “Seamstress” has begun, and more than a dozen women took the opportunity. Upon graduation, they will receive a state certificate and the opportunity to find employment. The school plans to start training cooks and welders soon.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
There was an air raid alert at night. The Ukrainian military performs its duties according to the staff instructions and guards strategic facilities.
Over the last two weeks, activists have distributed more than 7000 sets of personal hygiene products and about 10000 packages of food. In addition, almost 4000 people are provided with free meals every day. In fact, for 10 days, local chefs cooked 40000 lunches and dinners. At the same time, the city continues to feed IDPs twice a day, mobilizing its potential and resources.
Free laundries have been provided in the city. Within 20 days, washing machines washed about 3.5 tons of clothing. The humanitarian stock hub distributes clothes supplied by foreign sister cities to the community. Nearly 1500 IDPs come here every day.
The Department of Housing and Communal Services continues to accept applications for compensation for free accommodation of IDPs. In two days, as of today, 44 people have been received here.
The Department of Social Protection of the Population accepts documents from IDPs for registration. 2830 certificates have already been issued, and more than 8700 applications are being processed.
The Urban Development Association launched its operation, performing the functions of a “business nanny” for evacuated enterprises.
Chernivtsi Oblast (Bukovyna)
It is relatively quiet in Bukovyna. An air raid alert sounded during the last day. Every week, local officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conduct about 300 inspections of suspicious persons for their potential involvement in sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Bohdan Kovaliuk, Deputy Head of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration, met with representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid to discuss cooperation issues.
In Chernivtsi, philanthropists from an international humanitarian organization continue to help in the fully equipped mobile hospital: Ukrainians affected by the war can receive free medical consultations, examinations, and medicines. In the territorial communities of Bukovyna, police officers conduct thematic classes for internally displaced children.
The Bukovyna humanitarian aid center dispatched five tons of food products and medicines to the residents of the Bucha Raion in the Kyiv Oblast.
Zakarpattia Oblast
IDPs start their businesses. For example, IDPs from the Donetsk Oblast began to make molds for gingerbread, cookies, and lollipops in Uzhhorod. They moved some equipment to Zakarpattia and started production three weeks ago.
Zakarpattia puppeteers actively participate in the volunteer movement. The slogan “When the roar of the guns, the arts cannot be silent!” united all Zakarpattia Oblast Academic Puppet Theater employees.
