Northern oblasts

Kyiv

The World Monuments Fund will restore the glass dome of the Teacher’s House in Kyiv, which suffered a massive russian attack in October 2022. The team will scan the building to create a three-dimensional visualization of the dome. They will also repair the damaged steel structural elements.

In Kyiv, IDPs are requested to take an online survey to help them better adapt to the city. All answers will be anonymous. The survey is organized by the Department of Social and Veteran Policy of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The screens of the capital’s Gulliver shopping center will every night honor the memory of three soldiers killed during the russian invasion. The videos will be changed once a week.

The Kyiv bookstore Siaivo Knyhy will host an exhibition of paintings created by the wives of fallen soldiers. This is a charity project intended for psychological rehabilitation of women.

Kyiv Oblast

In Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka, a hostel for 19 families who lost their homes as a result of the russian invasion is being prepared for opening. It will have a separate coworking space, playrooms for children, and storage rooms for belongings. The donor of the project is the Polish company Dom Development.

Young Bucha residents donated kamikaze drones to the front line. The new “birds” were delivered to a graduate of Bucha Lyceum No. 4, who is currently performing combat missions in the Bakhmut sector.

The funds for the new devices were raised by pupils of Bucha kindergarten No. 1 and students of Bucha lyceum No. 4 during the charity fairs “Donate a Kamikaze Drone to the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Chernihiv Oblast

As of January 19, 3.5 thousand people have left the 20-kilometer border zone of the Chernihiv Oblast. More than 30 thousand residents still remain there. Voluntary evacuations are currently underway in the oblast, and public awareness campaigns are conducted. In particular, the five-kilometer zone closest to the border is considered the most dangerous. There are still 1.5 thousand people living there, and the same number have left.

Sumy Oblast

During the day of January 18, the russian army attacked the Sumy Oblast twice. Eight explosions were recorded.

Kharkiv Oblast

Today at 3 am russians fired a missile on Myrnohrad. 10 civilian structures were damaged, including 7 apartment buildings, an administrative building, a shop, and power lines.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

The Armed Forces of Ukraine keep all positions in the Bakhmut direction. The other day, the Ukrainian military repelled the assault of the russian army on Ivanovsk and destroyed russian equipment worth more than 10 million dollars.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

A resident of Vuhledar, a former head of one of the departments of the Donetsk regional customs, faces life imprisonment. He is suspected of directing russian S-300s to the positions of the Armed Forces near Vuhledar.

Mariupol

The international charitable organization “IOCC-Ukraine” has been conducting a humanitarian mission in the Zakarpattia Oblast for almost a year and a half. In the future, the organization plans to expand its activities, in particular, to support social entrepreneurship.

23 schools in the Zakarpattia Oblast provide daily meals to primary school students with the financial support of the UN World Food Program. The international organization reimburses institutions 30% of the costs of hot meals. More than UAH 1.2 million has already been allocated to such compensation
