Kyiv

Five more fire stations with round-the-clock duty of personnel and equipment are being set up in Kiev. The additional fire stations will be arranged taking into account the existing fire depots and the approximate radius (3 km) of service by one unit in five districts of the capital. This decision was made today by the Kyiv City Council and will help strengthen the protection of Kyiv residents and visitors from fires and the consequences of emergencies.

In Kyiv, they began collecting used gas cylinders to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such cylinders can be taken to one of 200 special orange containers for hazardous waste, and experts will refill them and hand them over to the military.

The Kyiv Military Administration and the Ministry of Community Development signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). According to the document, UNDP will soon start restoring 18 damaged high-rise buildings in the region.

Kyiv Oblast

Today, explosive ordnance disposal was carried out in the Vyshhorod Raion.

With the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan, Irpin received two powerful diesel generators. The aid was provided in response to a request from the Irpin Recovery Fund for additional alternative sources of electricity that the city needs.

Zhytomyr Oblast

By decree of the President of Ukraine, Major Oleh Chornomorets from Korosten was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. In March 2022, during one of the battles in the Mariupol sector, he drew enemy fire, sacrificing his life to save his comrades-in-arms.

On the outskirts of the village of Rakovychi, a memorial cross was erected to pilot Oleksandr Brynzhala, who was killed in action defending the capital. A year ago, the warrior took on a numerically superior enemy in his MiG-29 fighter. Back then, 12 Russian planes were planning to attack the Ukrainian capital.

A photo exhibition in honor of Ukrainian defenders will be held in Berdychiv. Its heroines are the wives of fallen or seriously wounded soldiers. The goal is to demonstrate the beauty and fragility, as well as the resilience and invincibility of Ukrainian women, and to remind everyone what price Ukrainian society pays for the Victory over modern russian fascism.

Chernihiv Oblast

On March 2, russian troops intensively shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast. The Novhorod-Siversk, Snovsk, and Semenivka communities came under fire. Russians shelled the Novhorod-Siversk community with tube artillery. Border guards recorded 13 hits. The Snovsk community was shelled twice during the day. Border guards recorded six explosions from self-propelled artillery mounts and eight explosions from tube artillery. 16 mortar shell explosions and 30 artillery shell explosions were recorded in the Semenivka community. After midnight, border guards recorded three more hits caused by a 120 mm mortar.

As a result of shelling, several residential buildings in one of the communities were damaged.

Sumy Oblast

On March 2, russian forces shelled 10 communities in the Sumy Oblast: Nova Slobidka, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Seredyna-Buda, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, and Shalyhyne. Several houses were destroyed in the Seredyna-Buda, Esman, and Nova Slobidka communities, and an agricultural company’s premises were ruined in the Khotyn community. Power lines were damaged in the Esman and Znob-Novhorodske communities.

At night and in the morning of March 3, the russian military shelled two territorial communities in the Sumy Oblast: Znob-Novhorodske and Myropillia. A total of 74 hits were recorded – from mortars, artillery and MLRS.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy fired artillery and mortars at the border settlements of Kharkiv, Kupiansk, and Chuhuiv raions of the oblast.

As a result of a missile attack on Kupiansk (according to preliminary information from the S-300 missile systems), an administrative building and a health care facility were destroyed.

Also in Kupiansk, an agricultural enterprise and a granary were damaged by enemy shelling.

In the village of Podoly, Kupiansk Raion, the enemy shelled private households. A 73-year-old woman was killed.

Mine clearance operations are underway in the oblast. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 31 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

On March 2, russian troops launched 45 attacks on 17 settlements in the Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian defenders repelled the attacks in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, and Bakhmut in the Donetsk Oblast. Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Diliivka, Maiorsk, and New York came under enemy fire.

Yesterday, Ukrainian troops repelled over 85 enemy attacks in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk sectors.

Over the last day, two residents of Velyka Novosilka were killed and five others were wounded in the Donetsk Oblast by the russian army shelling.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, 1,394 people have killed in the Donetsk Oblast, and another 3,119 have been wounded. It is impossible to establish the exact number of the dead and wounded in Volnovakha and Mariupol.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, in the Ocheretyne community, 3 houses were damaged in Tonenke, Severne was targeted in an airborne missile strike, Kamianka was shelled by artillery, and Krasnohorivka was shelled by artillery and tanks.

In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy continues to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops without success. The invaders fired artillery three times during the night. In the morning, russians launched a missile attack on the territory of the coke plant and a residential area.

Generators, legal assistance and equipping shelters are the main areas of cooperation between the Pokrovsk community and the “Caritas Mariupol” charitable foundation. The community is also waiting for two powerful generators, which will be equipped at the local boiler houses, for the installation of filtering stations on existing wells and the equipment of hostels for people arriving in Pokrovsk from the war zone.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

The enemy does not stop storming the city of Bakhmut. Yesterday, the enemy shelled the positions of the border guards with artillery and mortars all day and attacked one of the strongholds of the defenders twice. The first attempt to attack the Wagner troop failed in the afternoon, the second was in the dusk. The border guards stopped the enemy infantry with fire from small arms and grenade launchers. Having suffered losses, the enemy retreated. Approximately five mercenaries were killed, and another four were wounded.

Yesterday, the russian military fired artillery at Bakhmut nine times, destroying and damaging 18 high-rise buildings and one private house, and there were wounded.

Southern oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, March 2, the russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of ​​15 settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In Zaporizhzhia, demolition of the rubble of a high-rise building is ongoing. Communal services removed more than 102 tons of construction debris. As a result of the missile attack, eight people received injuries of varying degrees of severity, four of them are in the hospital. Ten people are considered missing.

There is a development center for immigrant children in Zaporizhzhia. Its founders, Yevhen and Victoria Dolgi, evacuated to Zaporizhzhia from Melitopol last year in March. Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched mortar attacks on the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

Today, the enemy attacked the town of Ochakiv in the Ochakiv community. According to preliminary information, there are no victims. A medical and preventive institution and a preschool educational institution were damaged.

In Mykolaiv, the Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanska raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Odessa Oblast

Pupils of the “Mishpakha” orphanage returned to Odesa from Germany. They were met by the mayor together with the chief rabbi of Odesa and Southern Ukraine Avraham Wolff. During the children’s stay abroad, the Jewish community created conditions for a safe stay in the “Mishpaha” orphanage. Shelters are equipped, generators and uninterruptible power supplies are installed.

Kherson Oblast

The russian military continues to shell Kherson and the Oblast. During the day, 360 projectiles from various types of weapons were fired at populated areas. One person died, 17 were injured.

A 33-year-old tractor driver was killed in the Kherson Oblast near the village of Tomaryne of the Beryslav Raion, as a result of shelling by the russian army. Also, the russian military attacked the village of Kozatske again. Two people were injured, doctors provided them with the necessary assistance.

The prosecutor’s office reported suspicion of collaboration to two more residents of the Kherson Oblast, who voluntarily headed occupation administrations in the Beryslav and Verkhniy Rohachyk raions.

Tetiana Kamenska, the owner of the Kherson television and radio company “VTV Plus”, was suspected of collaborating. She openly cooperated with the occupation authorities and covered their activities in the Kherson Oblast.
