Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Almost all of the cruise and ballistic missiles that russia used to attack Kyiv on the morning of March 21 were aimed at the facilities of the Main Intelligence Directorate. All of them were shot down by the Air Force.

Last night, during the massive russian attack on Ukraine, more than 35,000 people sought shelter in the Kyiv metro.   

Chernihiv Oblast

Today, russians attacked four border communities in Chernihiv Oblast with various types of weapons.

In the Semenivka community of Novhorod-Siverskyi raion, police are helping people evacuate to safer places. Two more people left the border village of Lubyane, which is two kilometers from the russian border.

Sumy Oblast 

At night and in the morning, the russian military shelled the territory of Sumy Oblast 6 times, with a total of 72 explosions recorded. 10 private residential buildings, a school and a gymnasium were damaged.

Sumy authorities have asked residents and businesses to reduce electricity consumption in view of the consequences of a large-scale russian attack on the Ukrainian energy sector. Emergency power outage schedules have been temporarily introduced in the settlements of Sumy, Konotop and Shostka raions. Currently, about 10 thousand Sumy consumers are without electricity supply.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

At least 21 missiles were fired by the russian army at the Kharkiv Oblast this morning. 19 of them were S-300, two were Iskander or Kinzhal. The occupiers have launched more than 15 attacks on energy facilities. The city is almost completely without electricity. About 700 thousand consumers in Kharkiv Oblast were left without electricity. A 43-year-old employee of one of the energy infrastructure facilities was injured as a result of a russian attack.

Donetsk Oblast

On March 21, the russian occupation forces conducted 1,592 attacks in Donetsk Oblast, 17 of them in residential areas.

Ukrainian troops repelled 56 attacks by russian occupation forces in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. Most of the fighting took place in the Novopavlivka direction.

As of 15:00, power companies have restored electricity supply to 140,000 customers in Donetsk Oblast.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Emergency power outages were introduced in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk due to a nighttime attack by russian occupation forces on Ukraine’s energy system. In Sloviansk, centralized water supply was cut off in four city neighborhoods.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion 

Daily battles continue in the Avdiyivka raion, the russian invaders are trying to break through the defense line of the Ukrainian defenders.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolayiv Oblast 

During March 21 and 22, the russian army attacked the Mykolaiv, Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. As a result of the attack, infrastructure was damaged in the city, 10 people were injured. There is also one dead. In addition, in the Mykolaiv raion, an object of energy infrastructure was damaged.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast 

The russian army launched a massive missile attack on Zaporizhzhia. Yes, 12 rockets were fired at the city. Previously, seven buildings were completely destroyed, 35 were damaged.

As of 17:00, three people were killed and 20 people were injured. In total, the enemy fired almost 20 rockets in the region.

As a result of russian shelling, one of the power transmission lines supplying the Zaporizhzhya NPP was de-energized. Such a situation threatens the emergence of an emergency situation. As of 16:00, power supply was restored.

Due to massive russian shelling on the territory of Zaporizhzhia, two DniproHPS stations are not working. The fire was extinguished. Currently, it is not known whether it will be possible to restore HPP-2, it is seriously damaged. One person died.

Due to the shelling of Zaporizhzhia by the russian army, schedules of power outages are introduced for large legal consumers.

Odesa Oblast 

At night, air defense forces shot down at least 14 drones in Odesa. The attack resulted in damage to critical infrastructure facilities.

Due to the attack of russia at night in Odesa, there were blackouts of electricity/heat/water supply. About 300,000 subscribers in the region are subject to disconnection schedules due to damage to energy facilities.

Kherson Oblast 

Yesterday, the russian military shelled 17 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. Three high-rise buildings and 12 private houses, a critical infrastructure object, an educational institution, etc. were damaged. Two people died, seven were injured.

At night, during a drone attack by the russian army in the Kherson Oblast, anti-aircraft fire shot down five “Shaheeds”.

In the morning, the russian military attacked Zmiivka in the Kherson Oblast. A 57-year-old local resident came under fire. The man died.

The army of russia dropped explosives from a drone in the Red Lighthouse in the Kherson Oblast. There was a wounded man.

Central Oblasts 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 

In Kryvyi Rih, critical infrastructure facilities were hit. 

Emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced there. Energy facilities in Dniprovskyi, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad and Kamianskyi Raions were damaged. There are interruptions in electricity and water supply. The blast wave also smashed windows in buildings. Restoration work is underway.

Multi-storey buildings in one of the city’s districts were damaged as a result of the russian attack on the Dnipro River.   

Some mines in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were de-energized due to russian shelling. More than 1000 miners were trapped underground. The miners were evacuated. No one was injured.

Kirovohrad Oblast

An outbuilding was damaged in Kirovohrad Oblast as a result of a russian attack. There is no information about the victims. Power engineers are forced to introduce a schedule of emergency power outages to maintain the balance in Ukraine’s energy system.

Poltava Oblast

In Poltava Oblast, Myrhorod Raion was hit by a rocket. Debris damaged the roofs of three private houses. No one was killed or injured. Preventive outages of power substations and a schedule of outages were implemented in the region. “Stability points” have been deployed.

Vinnytsia Oblast

A critical infrastructure facility was hit in Vinnytsia Oblast. Residents of Vinnytsia are urged to conserve electricity. 

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

During an air raid, a drone hits an energy infrastructure facility in Stryi Raion. A fire broke out. There is no information on injuries.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, infrastructure facilities were hit and residential buildings were damaged. Two people are reported dead and at least 8 injured.  

Critical infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Shepetivka community. No one was injured or killed.

As of 15:00, 13 settlements in Khmelnytskyi Oblast remained partially without power, and 2 were completely cut off. 

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

A critical infrastructure facility is hit as a result of an attack in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Two people were injured.

Soon, Prykarpattia will host the fourth “Face the Future Ukraine” medical mission. Leading plastic surgeons from Canada and the United States will arrive and, together with their Ukrainian colleagues, will perform reconstructive surgery on 35 Ukrainians, both military and civilians, who have been injured in the war.
