Kyiv
Yesterday, Kyiv City Council renamed another 16 streets, alleys, avenues and boulevards, the names of which are related to russia and the soviet past.
Kyiv Oblast
Today, on the territory of the Vyshgorod raion, work was carried out on the elimination of explosive objects. Ukrposhta will issue a new stamp before the release of Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel. The brand will be called “Let’s not forget! We will not forgive! Bucha Irpin Hostomel”.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the liberation of Irpen from the russian invaders, an exhibition of children’s drawings “My native indomitable Irpin” was organized in preschool education institutions of the community. During the week, the little pupils painted the blooming hometown of the hero Irpin.
Residents of Irpin and Irpin organizations received certificates of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “For services to the Ukrainian people”. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk presented the awards.
Chernihiv Oblast
In the afternoon of March 23, the russians shelled the area of the settlement of Tymonovichi, in the Semenivka raion, with barrel artillery. 10 arrivals were recorded, there were no losses among personnel and equipment.
Today, explosive devices were detonated near the village of Shestovytsia.
Sumy Oblast
On the afternoon of March 23, Nova Sloboda , Bilopillya, Velyka Pysarivka and Hlukhiv communities of Sumy Oblast were shelled from russian territory. There are no losses and destructions.
On the night of March 24, the Bilopillya community in Sumy Oblast came under massive shelling from russia. The occupiers used aviation, Hrad rocket salvo systems and barrel artillery. Two people died and nine were injured. An administrative building, a school building, and a residential building were destroyed. Apartment buildings and private houses, a dormitory were damaged.
Eastern Oblast
Kharkiv Oblast
The enemy continues to shell the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of the border settlements of Kharkiv, Kupyansk , Chuguyiv and Bogodukhiv raions of Kharkiv Oblasts .
During the past day, Kupyansk, Hryanikyvka, Krokhmalne, Strelecha, Staritsa, Vilkhuvatka, etc. were under the fire of the occupiers.
In the villages of Morozova Dolyna and Basove of the Bogodukhiv raion, as a result of artillery and mortar attacks, private residential buildings, farm buildings, and power lines were damaged. There were no casualties.
Demining is ongoing in the region. Over the past day, pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service inspected about 4 hectares of territory and neutralized another 155 explosive objects.
Donetsk Oblast
In just one day, the russians killed 3 residents of Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 5 people.
In total, since the day of the full-scale war, the russians have killed 1,429 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 3,258. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
Three people were killed as a result of a nighttime rocket attack on Kostyantynivka.
The russians targeted the Center for the Registration of Homeless Persons, which recently worked also as the Point of Invincibility. At the time of the attack, the destroyed wing was home to people who had left the frontline cities, in particular, Bakhmut and Time Yar. Three dead women and two wounded men were pulled out from under the rubble. At the time of the impact, 10 people were in the building.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
Yesterday, settlements in the east of Pokrovsk community were hit by enemy shelling.
The cities of Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, the villages of Novooleksandrivka, and Ivanivske were hit. The enemy attacked with aviation, S-300 air defense systems, Hrad, Uragan, artillery, tanks.
In the evening, there was another aerial missile attack on Avdiyivka – rockets hit a residential quarter and the surroundings of the Avdiyivka Coke Plant.
Two five-story buildings were damaged in Krasnohorivka.
At night, Hirnyk of the Kurakhiv community came under artillery fire – 7 high-rise buildings, a non-working hospital building and power lines were damaged.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion
One person died in the city of Chasiv Yar, 2 houses were damaged. In the Toretsk community, 23 houses in New York, 3 two-story houses and 1 private house in Toretsk were damaged. Isolated shelling was recorded in Orihovo-Vasylivka, Minkivka and Vasyukivka of the Soledar community.
Mariupol
Mariupol plans to study the experience of Vilnius in the decommunization of urban architecture. This was agreed upon by the mayors of Mariupol and Vilnius. The leaders of the cities signed the Declaration of Solidarity, which marked the beginning of cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukrainian Mariupol after de-occupation. The mayor of the Lithuanian capital, Remigius Šimašius, noted the importance of supporting Ukraine.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolayiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy fired mortar shells in the water area of the Dnipro-Buzky estuary of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.
In Mykolayiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past 24 hours, the russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of 18 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Today, March 24, the occupation army of the russian federation shelled the private sector of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. As a result of the shelling, a local resident was injured.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two FSS agents who were conducting reconnaissance and subversive activities. Among those detained is a design engineer of the Zaporizhzhia enterprise «Motor Sich». They were informed about the suspicion of treason.
The court seized additional assets of Medvedchuk’s wife, Oksana Marchenko, who is suspected of financing russian occupation groups, amounting to more than 440 million hryvnias. It is about 6.8% of the shares of the Dniprospetsstal plant in Zaporizhzhia, which Marchenko owns through three offshore companies.
Odesa Oblast
Air defense forces shot down two Kh-59 missiles that were used by russian Su-35 fighters to attack Odesa.
In Odesa, they want to dismantle the monument to Maxim Gorky. The relevant decision was made by the historical and toponymic commission of the city council. The monument is going to be moved to another place.
Another training session on prevention of domestic violence was held for teachers and student youth leaders of educational institutions. The participants discussed the aggravation of domestic violence during the war. Teachers were also told about the methods of responding to the detection of domestic violence among students. Upon completion, they were awarded certificates.
In the humanitarian center of the Primorsky District, a free HIV and hepatitis testing and tuberculosis screening campaign was held for World Tuberculosis Day.
The organizers are the Department of Health Protection of the Odesa City Council, the City Center for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS, charitable organizations.
Kherson Oblast
In Kherson, the russian army fired at the floats. Two men managed to cross the river, but a 55-year-old man died from a shrapnel wound in the chest on the bank.
A 77-year-old man from Kherson was also injured, he was hospitalized in moderate condition. As a result of the shelling, the warehouse caught fire, the fire was extinguished by rescuers.
In the morning, the russian military shelled the Bilozerka community in the Kherson Oblast. One person died, four were injured.
During the last day, the russian military attacked the Kherson community 8 times. The shells hit the facilities of the Korabelny, Sadovy, Naddnipryansky districts of Kherson and Antonivka. In addition, they fought on the island and the coastal part.
Over the past day, russian troops have been conducting defensive operations in the Kherson direction. At the same time, the Chervonyi Mayak, Beryslav, Lvove, Novotyaginka, Antonivka and Kherson were intensively shelled.
The russian military continues looting in the Kherson Oblast, Skadovsk, and Nova Kakhovka. They went around the houses of the local population in order to make a profit, «confiscated» people’s household and electronic appliances, jewelry, clothes and mobile phones.
In Henichesk, new participants have joined the ranks of the civil resistance movement over the past week. Hundreds of yellow ribbons, graffiti and posters appeared in the temporarily occupied city. Residents of Nova Kakhovka also continued to offer non-violent resistance to the russian occupation.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
A 73-year-old man was injured today as a result of enemy shelling of Nikopol. He was hospitalized in moderate condition. The enemy attacked the city with drones. The russian army also targeted the Chervonohryhorivka and Myrivka communities in the Nikopol Raion. The aggressor fired from heavy artillery. Five Iranian Shaheed drones attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih, and another drone was shot down.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi awarded the Order of the Golden Star near Bakhmut and conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine on Ilya Verhun from Dnipro.
Installation of two temporary shelters has begun in Nikopol. These are monolithic structures made of reinforcing steel and concrete that will protect people from the debris. Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant covered all the costs for the purchase and installation.
Japanese Pika Chujo Hideto left his successful construction business and family at home and came to Ukraine in the first days of the Great War. Together with volunteers from Dnipro, he helps IDPs and residents of frontline areas. The man uses his own money to build shelter and collect humanitarian aid, which is delivered to the territories liberated from the russians. He also considers it his mission to help young Ukrainians who have suffered because of the aggressor’s country. The philanthropists recently visited Kherson Oblast.
In the center of Dnipro, Aram, an internally displaced person from Kramatorsk, wrapped in a yellow and blue flag, plays the drum. This is how the man earns money for his housing and, whenever possible, donates to help those affected by the fighting and the Armed Forces.
In Dnipro, a patriotic mural appeared on a building on Matroska Street. It is painted on the wall of a two-story building. It looks like a yellow and blue flag with the image of a girl’s face with tears in her eyes. Below, the author wrote two lines from a famous Ukrainian song that gained a new wave of popularity in the first days of the russian invasion, “Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow”.
Poltava Oblast
The daughter and wife of the soldier from Poltava Oblast who died in the summer were presented with his Order for Courage. Ruslan Dziuba was killed near Bakhmut and was honored by the President of Ukraine for his courage.
Poltava decided to provide free meals to students whose parents are defending Ukraine from russian aggression. Previously, such benefits were only available to ATO and Special Forces participants.
The Institute of National Remembrance initiated the dismantling of the tombstone to the Lytvynov brothers, located in Petrovsky Park. This slab glorifies two russian communist brothers. In Poltava, the Red Army engaged in mass banditry, robbery, brutal torture, and raped Ukrainian girls. It is recommended that the tombstone be transferred to the funds of the Poltava Regional Museum of Local Lore, and the remains of the occupiers’ bodies reburied in the cemetery.
In Poltava Oblast, 103 checkpoints will remain open. The rest will be switched to “ready to open” mode. In the event of an emergency, they must resume work within two hours.
Poltava Oblast has received large-scale humanitarian aid for medical facilities. It was provided by the NGOs Elevate Ukraine and Brothers Volunteers with the assistance of the Dnipropetrovsk Psychoneurological Center for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Children. It includes expensive medical equipment and 20 tons of inventory. All this will be distributed among medical institutions in the region.
Western Oblasts
Lviv Oblast
The Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center has launched a molecular genetic research laboratory. It will conduct examinations for patients before and after organ transplantation, as well as for children with cancer.
The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church has launched its traditional Easter Basket campaign, which collects food for Easter for those in need in Lviv. This year, part of the collected food will be given to the families of fallen defenders.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Coaches of the Khmelnytskyi Third Children’s and Youth School, athletes, and their parents raised money to buy a 200,000 UAH SUV for a military unit in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, whose soldiers are going to the front line today. The money was raised over several months at sporting events.
A laboratory has been set up at Khmelnytskyi National University to model the life of a person with a disability. Students who will graduate as occupational therapists practice here.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Uzhhorod Mayor Bohdan Andriiv met with a chaplain and soldiers of the 15th separate mountain assault battalion of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade based in Uzhhorod. They discussed the immediate needs of the soldiers and how Uzhhorod City Council can help the defenders.
About 500 bags and more than 200 bags of garbage were collected during the “Ecotoloka” in Uzhhorod. More than 700 people took part in the cleanup.
