3Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The President of Slovakia arrived in Kyiv on a visit. Zuzana Čaputová said that she came on a “farewell” visit, as her presidential term was coming to an end. She also said that she brought good news about Slovakia’s assistance to Ukraine.
From 6 p.m. today until 7 a.m. tomorrow, electricity consumption restriction schedules will be applied in Kyiv for business and industrial sectors. Household consumers will not have power outages, but Kyiv residents are asked to save electricity.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Under the eRecovery program, 675 residents of the Zhytomyr Oblast received more than UAH 60 million in compensation to reconstruct their housing damaged by the Russian army.
Chernihiv Oblast
Over the course of May 9, russian troops shelled four border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast. The enemy fired mortars and tube artillery, and also attacked with drones.
Yesterday afternoon, russians targeted the territory of the Pryluky community with an Iskander-M missile. There have been no reports of casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.
Sumy Oblast
The russian army conducted 302 attacks on the Sumy Oblast during the day. As many as 11 communities were shelled. In particular, five apartment buildings, 8 private houses, private garages, and a boiler house were damaged in Bilopillia.
Today the enemy fired at five communities with 61 explosions recorded. The enemy used phosphorus and incendiary munitions against a number of villages in the oblast.
A 64-year-old woman was killed and her 17-year-old granddaughter was wounded in the morning shelling of the village of Sukhodil in the Esman community.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
A 62-year-old woman was injured as a result of the first shelling of Lyptsi in the middle of the night. For the second time, the village was shelled from Grad MLRS at 03:00, a fire broke out in a private house.
At night, a controlled aerial bomb hit near an infrastructure object in Derhachi. About 25 buildings and structures and 33 trade pavilions were damaged.
In the Kupiansk direction yesterday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 13 assaults by russians.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed the attempt of the russian army to break through the defense line in the north of the Kharkiv Oblast under the cover of armored vehicles. The enemy intends to create a ten-kilometer buffer zone on the border. There is currently a fierce artillery battle going on there. To strengthen the defense, the Ukrainian command sent reserve units there.
Russian troops massively shelled Vovchansk and border settlements, two men were wounded, the population is being evacuated.
The aggressor country delivered new blows to Vovchansk, one man was killed. There are also two wounded. One of them is under the rubble of the house. A 60-year-old woman was injured during another attack. The russian federation also shelled Cherkaski Tyshki. A 55-year-old man was killed.
At night, the russian federation struck a residential area of Kharkiv, fires broke out in three private residential buildings. The rescuers had to interrupt the extinguishing of the fire at least three times due to the threat of repeated strikes and go down to the nearest shelters. An 11-year-old girl and a 72-year-old woman sought medical help with an acute reaction to stress.
Donetsk Oblast
The russian army struck Selidove with the Smerch MLRS and two guided aerial bombs, and fired artillery at Hostre, Trudove, and Toretsk during May 9. As a result of shelling, 98 civilian objects were damaged.
The defense forces repelled 92 attacks by the russian army on the eastern front. Most of the attacks were in the Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions.
Mariupol
Explosions rang out in Mariupol late yesterday evening. Ten russian soldiers were injured and hospitalized outside the city. A fire also broke out, which was extinguished within two hours.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
On the night of May 10, the air defense forces in the Mykolaiv Oblast destroyed eight Shahed 131/136 type drones. Also, on May 9, russian troops attacked the Kutsurub and Kostiantynivka communities with artillery, a kamikaze drone, and a missile.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
547 strikes were carried out by the russian army on eight towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday, May 9.
Odesa Oblast
Air defense forces worked in Odesa at night. Several enemy drones were shot down.
Kherson Oblast
Over the past day, the russian military shelled 15 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. 28 private houses, a critical infrastructure facility and a gas pipeline were damaged. One person was injured.
Also, air defense forces in the Kherson Oblast destroyed one russian UAV of the “Shahed-131/136” type.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of May 10, the russian army hit the Nikopol Raion with attack drones of various types. The car caught fire, which was extinguished. The buildings of two private enterprises and a shop were damaged. There are no dead or injured.
Western Oblasts
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
In Ivano-Frankivsk, an updated dormitory was opened for the families of displaced servicemen. It was possible with grant money. The project was financed by the European Union and the International Financial Organization NEFCO.
