Northern Oblasts

Zhytomyr Oblast

On July 31, Andrii Pavlovskyi and Dmytro Gordienko – defenders who died in the battles for the liberation of Kherson Oblast – were buried at the military cemetery in Zhytomyr. 

In the center of Zhytomyr, on August 1, several dozen people took part in a rally with the call “Save Azov”. Among the participants of the action are concerned citizens and relatives of war prisoners. People demand that the Red Cross fulfill its obligations to save the lives of the soldiers taken out of the Azovstal plant, chanting: “Freedom for prisoners of war”, “Russia is a terrorist country”, “Putin is a murderer”.

The agrarians of Zhytomyr Oblast have started harvesting early potatoes and vegetables. 

The coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” provided information to citizens on receiving psychological assistance.

 

Chernihiv Oblast

In the evening of July 31, the russians shelled the border of Chernihiv Oblast. They fired from barrel artillery. Six artillery shells flew in and exploded.

Shots were fired from the russian settlement of Lomakivka.

From the juvenile library bombed by russian aircraft, they began to take out books that were taken from under the rubble. Half of the 60,000 books were evacuated. 

Sumy Oblast

At 8 o’clock in the morning, the russians began shelling the Esman community. There are no casualties or destruction. 

The Security Service of Ukraine detained two russian agents who were collecting information on the home stations, the number of troops and weapons, as well as existing fortifications. They carried out photo and video recording of military installations, transferred files with reference to the location to employees of the russian federal security service.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Around 7 a.m., the enemy shelled the Saltivskyi District of Kharkiv. Two men aged 30 and 72 were injured. The latter died in the hospital.

One of the shells hit near a public transport stop and in the yard of an apartment building. Cars were damaged.

At night, the russians attacked Merefa. A 42-year-old guard was injured, and the building of an industrial civil infrastructure facility was damaged. 

Also at night, the enemy struck Chuhuiv, a production building was damaged. 

During the day, the russians shelled the Izium, Bohodukhiv and Chuhuiv Raions. A 54-year-old man died in Bohodukhiv Raion.

Donetsk Oblast

The enemy was not active in the Kramatorsk direction. Shelling was carried out from barrel, rocket artillery and tank weapons in the vicinity of Siversk, Serebryanka, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Zvanivka, Ivano-Daryivka, and Spirne. Airstrikes were carried out near Hryhorivka and Spirne.  

In the Avdiivka direction, the invaders carried out shelling in the areas of the settlements of Novokalynove, Novoselivka, Avdiivka, Netaylove, Pisky, and Krasnohorivka. The airstrikes were near Vesele. The enemy carried out assaults in the direction of Pisky, had no success, withdrew. 

For July 31, the russians killed 3 civilians in Donetsk Oblast: 2 in Bakhmut and 1 in Soledar. Another 16 people were injured.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 668 civilians in Donetsk Oblast, another 1,735 were wounded. 

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Rayon

The enemy carried out airstrikes near Maryinka and Novomykhailivka. A combat reconnaissance was conducted by russians in the direction of Maryinka with no success. The enemy retreated.

The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm. No information about victims and destruction was recorded.

There is a preliminary agreement on the resettlement of almost 20,000 residents of Pokrovsk in safer regions of the country.

The Pokrovsk city council decided to preserve high-rise buildings for the winter period, shutting off water supply and sewage. Without electricity, sewage in cities will not be able to work properly.

The Pokrovsk community received building materials for the restoration of damaged housing from the Norwegian Refugee Council.

In front-line Pokrovsk, under the slogan “Stop the war”, the first solo concert of a teenager – a pupil of a music school and laureate of many international competitions – took place.

 

Bakhmut 

In the Bakhmut direction shelling was recorded near Berestovo, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kostyantynivka, Veselaya Dolyna, Zaitsevo, Vershyn, Kodem, Semihirya and Travnevo. The enemy launched an air strike near Kodem.

russians tried to conduct reconnaissance of the positions of Ukrainian troops in the direction of Yakovlivka, their reconnaissance group was neutralized. The enemy also tried to conduct assaults in the directions of Vershyn and Soledar but was unsuccessful and retreated. Attacks are held in the direction of Bakhmut, hostilities continue.

The city authorities report that the density of shelling of the community and the city of Bakhmut is increasing every day. Currently, there is no safe neighborhood or street in the city. The enemy is bombing the entire city. Yesterday, the central part of the city was shelled. Buildings on the territory of the hospital and residential buildings were damaged. There are victims.

At the moment, the coordinator is actively working with refugees in Cherkasy, in particular in the following areas:

1. Integration of internally displaced persons in Cherkasy – the project’s activities are aimed at adults.

2. Vilno Hub – the activity of the project is aimed at involving teenagers in the life of Cherkasy.

Luhansk Oblast

Yesterday the russians shelled populated areas and positions of Ukrainian troops 7 times with barrel artillery and mortars.

Many religious buildings were damaged in Luhansk oblast: 8 in Severodonetsk, 8 in Rubizhne, 3 in Lysychansk and 2 in Popasnaya.

Southern Oblasts

Kherson

The occupiers bring in more and more of their weaponry and equipment every day.

 9 missiles were launched from the Black Sea on the territory of Ukraine.

In the Kherson region, the occupiers continue to conduct “searches” in the apartments of residents. If the owner is not at home, they break down the door and rob the house.

The enemies have organized a toll crossing over the Antonovsky bridge, with the help of which they also drive their equipment.

Novomykolaivka, Kherson Oblast, has been under fire from russian troops for the past few days. The temporary occupation authorities also terrorize the population, threatening residents with deportation or torture for disobeying orders. The Russians do not allow the civilian population to evacuate from the region.

At night, a powerful explosion was heard outside Skadovsk. The armed forces of Ukraine destroyed the enemy’s ammunition depot and equipment. In the morning, the explosions repeated.

In total 105 russians, 2 self-propelled artillery installations, 17 units of armored and motor vehicles, and 2 field ammunition depots were destroyed in Kherson Oblast.

People stay in groups, practically do not go out, there are many elderly people left. The situation remains critical.

Starting today, the russians in Skadovsk have banned the use of terminals in any store. People cannot pay by card or make money transfers. Prices have increased by 2 times. There is one pharmacy and drug exchange. Banks, ATMs and any other institutions do not work. The new “military government” is trying to establish its new laws and regulations.

Today, the coordinator of the All-Ukrainian initiative “Active Community” compiled a list of the most necessary medicines and provided advisory assistance to the elderly.

Mykolaiv Oblast

At night, the russians shelled private houses and yards, as a result of which 3 people were wounded. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out on the territory of the medical dispensary. A humanitarian warehouse with medicines and food burned down. The trauma center of one of the hospitals was also ruined, 4 buildings and medical vehicles were damaged, and windows were shattered.

Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Bereznehuvate community continues.

Odesa Oblast

On July 31, the Odesa Oblast was attacked by 2 Iskander missiles fired from the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the explosion of the missiles in the air, the so-called decoy flares were scattered across the territory of the Odesa Oblast. They look like unexploded projectiles or are dart-shaped with an orange tail. This is quite a dangerous thing, as it has a high burning temperature and can cause severe burns. Several such flares caused dry grass to catch fire. Rescue services respond promptly, extinguishing fires. Currently, there is no information about the victims. This was reported by the operational command “South”.

Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov transferred an ambulance to one of the Oblast’s mobile hospitals. The car was purchased at the request of the Odesa City Hall by the American charitable foundation “Direct Relief”. The vehicle is equipped with everything necessary and can move both in the city and in off-road conditions.

Today, the first ship with Ukrainian food went to sea from the port of Odessa during the period of the full-scale invasion. The vessel RAZONI under the flag of Sierra Leone is heading to the port of Tripoli in Lebanon with 26 thousand tons of Ukrainian corn.

People are united and active; they are engaged in volunteering and take part in charity events.

Central oblasts

Kirovohrad Oblast

An air raid alert sounded and there was a threat of a missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi. Currently, the situation in the communities is quiet and under control.

In Kropyvnytskyi and in the oblast, the readiness of shelters in educational institutions is being actively checked. There is one month left until the start of classes. Schools will start the educational process only if they receive a safety certificate.

Volunteers of the Kropyvnytskyi community take an oath, sign contracts, and undergo training. The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Council, Serhiy Shulha, reminded that anyone who feels the call to defend their homeland can join the ranks of the volunteer defense forces of the Kirovohrad Oblast.

In Sokolivka, Kropyvnytskyi Raion, children earned 6,000 hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one week by selling bracelets. Every day, girls and boys wove up to fifty bracelets. Today, August 1, Danylo Kolyada, Khrystyna Burlakova and Veronika Babayeva handed over the money to the Sokolivka Village Council of the Kropyvnytskyi Raion to purchase sitting mats, which are needed by the Ukrainian military on the front lines. The children are not going to stop there and plan to continue weaving decorations and raising funds for the defenders of Ukraine.

Yevhen Zhovtyi, defender of Ukraine from the Blahovishchenske community, was killed in action. Tomorrow, August 2, in the village of Osytniazhka of the Velyka Severynka community of the Kropyvnytskyi Raion, the 48-year-old defender Ihor Yarmoshevych, who died in the war, will be escorted on his final journey.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” provided the IDPs consultations to displaced persons from the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts with advice on obtaining documents on the status of an internally displaced person, as well as information on the available resources of employers in the oblast center and neighboring communities.

Poltava Oblast

Iryna Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, visited the Poltava Oblast for the second time. She visited centers for IDPs in Kremenchuk, Hradyzhsk, Horishni Plavni, and Poltava. Ms. Iryna handed over humanitarian aid from the Polish government, UNICEF, and the Red Cross. She noted that the Poltava Oblast is Oblast No. 1 in terms of interaction with internally displaced persons. Separately, she asked the IDPs who have relatives and friends in the Donetsk Oblast to appeal to them to evacuate immediately. Currently, about 200,000 IDPs live in the Poltava Oblast. 

Fitters from the Poltava Oblast manufacture water filters and targeted shooting devices for the military.

A pot from the Middle Ages was found in the Poltava Oblast; the artifact will be handed over for “decoding”.

By 2026, they want to transfer district heating in the Polovky district of the city of Poltava to the use of biofuel. 

In the Poltava Oblast, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the head of one of the district military registration and enlistment offices on a bribe. For a bribe of 50,000 hryvnias, the conscripts were promised the opportunity to avoid conscription for mobilization. In this scheme, the man involved an intermediary – a local law enforcement officer, who was detained during the transfer of part of the money. 

The Poltava branch of the AUI “Active Community” communicates with the families of internally displaced persons by telephone, providing them with the necessary information on receiving humanitarian aid in the city.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion 

An air-raid warning went off during the day.

Yesterday, the situation was peaceful in the Khmilnyk community.

Khmilnyk police officers simulated various extreme situations during the practical session and learned how to provide first aid quickly and professionally.

9-year-old volunteer Vladyk Musii from Khmilnyk has already collected 3 thousand hryvnias to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

The public action “Prevent. Save. Help” took place in Taras Shevchenko park in Khmilnyk. 

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm. As of 18:00, there were no air-raid warnings.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with belorussia. The Territorial Defense Forces patrol and stand guard at checkpoints.

Rivne Oblast resident faces up to 15 years with confiscation of property for treason. As a recruited agent, the man collected information about the military and officers of several Ukrainian military units. He passed the collected data to the reserve officer of the occupying state so that he could conduct subversive activities against Ukraine. According to the investigation, the enemy planned to eliminate high-ranking officers of one of the military formations. In addition, during the search of the defendant’s residence, 17 cartridges for firearms were found and seized from him.

A meeting of the evacuation commission was held in the Rivne Oblast State Administration. The representatives of the Raion State Administrations, security forces and the military attended the meeting. The commission also discussed the algorithms of actions during evacuation, the locations of assembly points, logistics, the importance of conducting filtering measures to identify subversive groups.

Thus, during the meeting, representatives of the operational command Pivden shared the experience of evacuating Zaporizhzhia residents, where Oblast military personnel were also involved. Also, practical recommendations developed during visits to Chernihiv Oblast by the head of the Oblast Military Administration, Vitalyi Koval, are attached to the plan for the evacuation of Rivne Oblast. 

This weekend, the fifth DJ parade took place in Rivne, in the Youth Park (Lebedynka). This time, seven DJs joined in, delighting the audience with their mixes of well-known compositions. In total, during the fifth DJ parade, it was possible to collect 8,536 hryvnias, which the organizers will donate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

 

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Over the past three days, another 19 internally displaced persons have arrived in the city. Some of them found shelter on their own. For others, the community provided accommodation in hostels and kindergartens.

The Khmelnytskyi Oblast Employment Center invites people to online counselling on micro-grants obtaining. In August, meetings will be held every Friday at 10:00 a.m. on ZOOM. On July 30th, a charity screening of the best festival short films of Ukraine 2017-2022 from the International Film Festival “Brukivka” took place in the Orlovsky Palace in Maliivtsi. This festival was held before the Statehood Day of Ukraine. Local residents, tourists and volunteers raised 1,710 hryvnias which will be transferred to volunteer organizations that collect funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The AUI Active Community coordinator helped an internally displaced person with an employment.

Chernivtsi Oblast

At night, in Chernivtsi Oblast there was an air alarm warning. Currently, the situation is calm and under control.

Bukovyna residents paid their last tribute to the Hero who gave his life for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was the senior soldier Mykola Budey whose funeral was in the village of Staryy Vovchynets.

Mykola Strelnikov from the city of Zastavna received an honorary badge of the Chief of the General Staff, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, For Distinction in Military Service of the 2nd degree.

Oleksandr Kyrylyuk from Klishkivtsi, Bukovyna, organized the collection of glass containers in the villages of the community to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Zakarpattia and Luhansk Oblast Military Administrations signed an agreement to help IDPs. On August 1st, the Agreement on Cooperation and Partnership Between the Zakarpattia and Luhansk Oblast Military Administrations was signed in Uzhhorod. 

In Klyucharky, six girls collected 20,000 hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They organized a charity concert in support of the 128th Zakarpattia Brigade. The girls wrote a script, each of them prepared an interesting performance, and fellow villagers were invited to the event. At first, they thought that no one would come, but as a result, they managed to collect 20 thousand hryvnias for the defenders in a small village. 

Pastry cook, Yuliya Savynska, told the story about her moving out from Kramatorsk to Khust and also the sweet preferences of Zakarpattia residents.
