Ukraine in Brief:
45th day of Ukrainian people’s heroic struggle against the russian military invasion.
Russia continues with preparatory measures intending to engage in the active offensive on the east of Ukraine and establish complete control over the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
The focus of the invaders’ actions is to take over Mariupol and advance in the area of Izuym. The probability of subversion and reconnaissance groups being engaged by the enemy in executive diversions at transport infrastructure facilities remains high.
The enemy continues dealing missile strikes against civil facilities across the territory of Ukraine.
There have been no material changes in the composition or positions of the russian occupation troops in the north of Ukraine.
A partial siege of Kharkiv by the aggressors continues. The enemy resorts to radio-electronic suppression of cell communication networks to hide occupational troops’ movements in the Kharkiv Oblast. To build up its task force, up to two enemy tactical battalion groups have been transferred from the belgorod oblast into the area near Shevchenkove, Kharkiv Oblast.
The enemy continues assaults in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The main focus of the russian occupation troops’ efforts is to take control of Rubizhne, Popasna, and Novobakhmutivka. At the same time, the invaders proceed with airstrikes on Vuhledar and Novoselivka Druha and attempt to resume offensive actions in the area of Novotoshkivske, Stepne, and Maryinka.
In the Mykolayiv Oblast, the invaders relentlessly try to save their positions on the administrative border with the Kherson Oblast.
Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The military and Territorial Defense Forces near Kyiv set up new defense lines to prepare for a potential renewed assault on the capital. These have been moved as far as possible from Kyiv to avoid any chance of shelling or enemy troop incursion. Blast technicians are destroying the unexploded ordnance (UXOs). The sounds of explosions can be heard in Kyiv.
Kyiv Oblast
Restoration works will take place for ten days in Bucha. Some 20% of residential buildings have been flattened in Bucha. The enemy strikes knocked out the traction substation. Damage has been dealt to clean water reservoirs, and nearly all communication stations have been destroyed. At this time, the death toll among Bucha residents stands at 360. Russian soldiers would gouge victims’ eyes, cut off body parts, and torture to death both adults and children.
Modular homes will be installed for Irpin residents left without homes. Ukrainian rescuers working the ruins find and save individual belongings that their owners can claim via the State Emergency Service.
Some 9425 mines have been already rendered safe in the Kyiv Oblast.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Heads of Zhytomyr and Dnipro City Administrations jointly work on the logistical scheme of support of Armed Forces of Ukraine units.
Chernihiv Oblast
It’s the fifth day of searches for civilians killed during the month under russian occupation in the village of Yagidne, Chernihiv Oblast. Most village buildings were destroyed, and more than 300 locals were kept in the local school basement. People were allowed outside only on rare occasions. Some died of suffocation. For one whole week, the residents have been trying the challenging task of going back to normal life.
Residents’ bodies have been found during the mine-clearing operation in a church in Lukashivka. A pedestrian bridge across the Desna in the Oblast was damaged by enemy shellings and is now in emergency condition; hence, the use of the bridge has been limited to the absolute minimum.
Sumy Oblast
The threat to the Oblast is relatively high: a large mass of russian troops near the Oblast segment of the Ukrainian border has been reported.

Infrastructural facilities in Saltivka, Holodna Hora, Oleksiyivka, and Kharkiv Tractor Plant neighborhoods were hit. There was a servere shelling of Dergachi. The strikes damaged a clinic, and an outpatient department, and some residential buildings. No casualties have been reported.
The direction of Izuym remains challenging: the russians are trying to outflank the city and Ukrainian army positions to throw the mass of their troops into the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, thus increasing their military presence there. Still, owing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the enemy faces heavy personnel and equipment losses daily in these areas.
Donetsk Oblast
The Ukrainian military has repelled seven enemy attacks in the direction of Donetsk and Luhansk. The invaders lost nine tanks, seven armored vehicles, and five other automotive equipment. The AFU downed two russian helicopters and a cruise missile over Donbas.

A humanitarian cargo of medicines has reached Pokrovsk.
