The full-scale armed aggression of russia against Ukraine continues. In the north of Ukraine, the situation has not changed significantly.
Planned measures of operational and combat training of units of the armed forces of belarus are being held on their territory near Chernihiv Oblast. Some military units of this country continue to perform tasks to strengthen the Ukrainian-belarusian section of the state border.
The partial blockade of Kharkiv continues. At the same time, the enemy continues to use artillery and rocket-propelled grenade launchers to destroy the residential areas of Kharkiv, Dergachi, and Pyatykhatki. In the area of Izyum, the occupiers regrouped units, replenished supplies, and focused on maintaining the pontoon crossing over the Siversky Donets River.
In Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, enemy troops use aviation and tactical missile systems intensively. During the day, the occupiers tried to improve the tactical situation in the areas of Popasna, Stepne, Rubizhne, and Nizhne. They were unsuccessful. Engineering units of the armed forces of russia are trying to restore the railway bridges near Svatovo. The battles for Mariupol continue.
In Mykolayiv Oblast, the enemy tries to keep the captured territory. The russians conducted air reconnaissance with uncrewed aerial vehicles, fired on Mykolayiv and Oleksandrivka from multiple rocket launchers. In the Black and Azov Seas, enemy naval groups continue to carry out tasks to isolate the area of hostilities and reconnaissance.
Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The operation to defend Kyiv was successful, but it is too early to talk about security in the capital, – said the Head of the Military Administration of Kyiv Serhiy Korniychuk.
The European Union Delegation has reopened in Kyiv.
Kyiv Oblast
Work on the search for missing citizens continues in Kyiv Oblast. The bodies of more than 400 civilians killed during the russian occupation of the city were found in Bucha.
The Ukrainian ombudswoman stated about the mass sexual violence in Bucha. During the city’s occupation, russian soldiers kept about 25 women and girls aged 14 to 24 in one of the basements and regularly raped them. Nine of them are now pregnant, said Ukrainian Commissioner Lyudmila Denisova. The territories occupied by russian troops are currently being cleared and demined.
Zhytomyr Oblast
In Zhytomyr Oblast, two more men are suspected of collaborationism. A 54-year-old Zhytomyr resident was exposed in illegal public activities in support of russian armed aggression. During the search in the house of another 52-year-old Zhytomyr resident, agitation materials and equipment were confiscated, which may indicate illegal activity to the detriment of Ukraine.
At the Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University, first-year students majoring in Performing Arts started the project “Here and Now”, telling the world about the war in Ukraine.
Chernihiv Oblast
In Chernihiv, the last honor was paid to the Territorial Defense Forces fighter Dmytro Rozenko. He died on the second day of the full-scale russian invasion, defending Chernihiv. His death was the first death of a prosecutor in the Chernihiv Oblast during hostilities.
On April 10th, the Head of the village of Gremyache, Anna Gavrilina, was released from captivity. The russian military held the woman captive on charges that she worked as a gunner for the Ukrainian army. She was interrogated for a week in a field camp, almost sleepless, and threatened with reprisals. Then Anna Gavrilina was in a pre-trial detention center in kursk. The woman is currently in Ukraine.
There are many mined roads and fields in the Oblast, where the russian military stood. Yesterday, a civilian car hit an anti-tank mine and exploded on the Chernihiv-Kyiv highway. The driver died.
The Highways Service has started general cleaning of the highway “Kyiv-Chernihiv”. In particular, road workers restored the temporary bridge in Snovsk. In Chernihiv, 27 out of 34 schools and 37 out of 52 kindergartens were damaged. Teachers work remotely from home, other surviving schools in the city, and other oblasts.
Sumy Oblast
The Head of the Sumy Military Administration commented that the russian occupation troops had caused damage to the Sumy Oblast of over 10 billion hryvnias. For the past 24hrs, pyrotechnics have neutralized 47 explosive devices.
The movement of trains in the direction of Krasnopillya, Konotop, Shostka, and in the opposite direction is resumed in the Oblast. The bus station in Sumy resumes operation. It is open to carriers and passengers, but ticket sales are not yet available.
In Trostyanets, which was occupied by the russian military, electricity and water supply are being restored. The hospitals are planning to resume operations. Post offices in Okhtyrka resume work.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
The russians continue to shell residential areas of Kharkiv. A 2-year-old boy died at the hospital, wounded in the Saltivka sleeping area on April 11th.
Donetsk Oblast
Over the next 2-3 weeks, the intensity of fighting in eastern Ukraine will intensify – according to British reconnaissance.
Kramatorsk
The situation in the community remains alarming. No actions by russian occupation troops have been recorded. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the Territorial Defense Forces are preparing to meet the enemy. Communal establishments function in normal mode. The evacuation of civilians continues. Volunteers help the AFU and Territorial Defense Forces.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
Fierce battles occur in the east of Pokrovsk Raion: Avdiivka, Mariinka. The AFU actively resist the russian occupation troops. As a result of artillery shelling in the village, 30 houses in Mykhailivka were damaged. The Territorial Defense Forces, along with the police, stand guard in the community’s territory. Communal workers continue to help Avdiivka residents. They cover windows, broken as a result of the shelling.
International Charitable Medical Organization from Manchester “UK-MED” visited the city. Its workers will conduct training for medical workers and volunteers of Myrnohrad. The Kurakhiv ambulatory care clinic will provide free L-thyroxine. The medicine will be available to patients from the Kurakhiv and Mariinka communities who need to use it regularly.
Bakhmut
The situation is alarming but under control. Police officers intensively patrol the community streets, and the State Emergency Service is also working in an intensified mode. Community leadership is in their workplaces and does everything to meet the community’s needs. The “Bakhmut-Khlib” enterprise works stably.
Mariupol
The Azov unit, the naval infantry, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, and the KORD special police unit steadily defend Mariupol. But blockage release of the city is needed as soon as possible.
According to Azov soldiers, russian occupation troops used chemical weapons in Mariupol last night. A poisonous substance of unknown origin was dropped from an enemy drone. Three soldiers were injured. They had respiratory failure.
Luhansk Oblast
For the last two days, russian occupation troops have been gathering hundreds of heavy equipment on the front line in Luhansk Oblast. However, bad weather conditions slowed down the invasion of the occupiers.
The occupiers continue to shell the peaceful cities of Luhansk Oblast.
In the temporarily occupied Novoaidar, the Ukrainian military counterattacked, destroying more than 40 units of equipment and more than 50 tons of occupiers’ ammunition.
The difficult situation is in Popasna and Rubizhne. Due to the partial russian occupation of cities, people could not take out dead bodies of the city, so the residents bury them in the yards of residential sectors. Due to the shelling in certain areas, the dead remain lying on the streets.
Severodonetsk and Hirske are left without electricity, water, and gas supply. The russian army destroys all communications. In total, 38 settlements are left without gas.
Southern oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Last night in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ukrainian defenders destroyed a russian SU-34 aircraft, four tanks, five armored combat vehicles, two multiple rocket launch systems, two 122-mm mortars, and five vehicles.
As a result of russian shelling, nine private houses in the town of Orikhiv and the village of Mahdalynivka were damaged. At night, the russian military fired phosphorous bombs at the village of Novoyakovlivka. Due to the rainy weather, there was no fire, and no one was injured or killed. Some houses are damaged.
In total, 420 households in Zaporizhzhia Oblast were completely destroyed or partially damaged. The russians are trying to influence the residents of the temporarily occupied territories with the help of information and psychological pressure. They distribute newsletters and Internet media with distorted information about the course of hostilities and anti-Ukrainian propaganda. The russians force Ukrainian citizens to take social welfare payments, including russian pensions.
The occupiers are conducting raids on communal facilities to identify men of conscription age for forced mobilization. Due to intimidation and pressure on the Ukrainian police members’ relatives and families, the occupiers are creating detachments of the so-called “people’s militia”.
Due to constant pressure and threats, many educators in Melitopol and Berdyansk resigned. There is a severe shortage of food, medicine, and hygiene products in the temporarily occupied territories. The russian military continues to obstruct the movement of evacuation convoys and humanitarian aid vehicles.
On the border of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, rescuers are clearing the fields where the enemy dropped cluster mines. Rescuers neutralized 150 explosive devices yesterday.
Enerhodar
In Enerhodar, the city’s occupation authorities, composed of traitors and russian occupiers, systematically use pressure and repression on civilians. Therefore, the occupiers are trying to isolate Enerhodar completely, appoint their heads of communal establishments and force entrepreneurs to obtain special permits.
Huliaipole
In Huliaipole, there is no connection temporarily due to a malfunction of the generator that provided the mobile network. People continue repair work. There is no water supply in Huliaipole, Stepnohirsk, rural settlements of Polohy and Vasylivka districts.
Kherson Oblast
Ukrainian power engineers have repaired the electricity supply in 13 settlements of Kherson Oblast, which have been left without electricity for more than a month due to hostilities. There is a lack of cash in the Hornostaivka community. The mayor asks residents to sell goods without money and buy bread from community bakeries to support local manufacturers.
The russian military detained two residents of Hladkivka, Kherson Oblast. Two residents of Mali Kopani and a man from Stara Zburivka returned from captivity.
Odesa Oblast
There is a threat of missile attacks. However, the situation in Oblast is under control. The Ukrainian military defends the Oblast territory. Territorial Defense Forces protect Oblast and fortify their positions.
Eight russian cargo ships and two tankers on preventive maintenance were detained in the port of Odesa Oblast. The owners tried to illegally remove sea transport from the port, replacing the flags. People are very active, and they join volunteer movements.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
The night in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was restless. There were two airstrikes in the Synelnykiv Raion. One rocket hit an old mill. Arrivals in the building knocked out windows and damaged the roof. The second rocket was shot down over the fields.
The Russians are shelling the villages of Trudolyubivka, Koshove, Maryanske, and other communities of the Kryvyi Rih Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and the nearby settlements of the Kherson Oblast. An enemy plane was shot down on the way to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast today.
In one of the villages of Synelnykivskyi Raion, rescuers are clearing the fields where the enemy dropped cluster mines. Rescuers cleared 150 explosive devices yesterday. There are more than 55 000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. More than 20 000 women and 14 000 children, of whom more than 3000 have already started distance learning in educational institutions in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. At the initiative of one of the driving schools in the Dnipro, displaced women will be taught to drive a car for free and will be issued licenses.
Kirovohrad Oblast
The situation is under control. There were air alarms. There was a threat of a missile strike. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) protect the Oblast’s borders and military facilities. Territorial Defense Forces are on duty at checkpoints and patrols the city with police.
According to the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, the Oblast is experiencing a gradual revival of business activity. Permanent housing for migrants will be built in Kirovohrad Oblast. It is assumed that the construction will take 3-4 months.
A mobile polyclinic in Kropyvnytskyi is equipped by the international Christian organization “Samaritan’s Bag”. During the week, 250 patients applied.
A quiet action on the initiative of the out-of-school educational institution “I want peace in Ukraine!” Took place in the city recreation park Znamyanka. A symbol of peace was reproduced during the action – a white dove.
Poltava Oblast
Poltava lives accompanied by air alarms. 11 people are being checked for involvement in sabotage in the Poltava Oblast. For the past 24hrs, law enforcement officers inspected 1100 vehicles and 2100 suspects. Also, in Poltava Oblast a drunk pensioner was detained who threatened fellow villagers with grenades.
Since the beginning of hostilities in internal medical institutions in Poltava, internally displaced women have given birth to 145 children. The Oblast employed 74 doctors who moved to the Oblast due to the war. There are 59 secondary schools in the distance mode. 1419 migrant students are involved in the training.
On April 11th, a petition was published on the website of the Poltava City Council with a request to rename the streets and dismantle six monuments glorifying the russian empire and the russian military. Poltava residents support such an initiative with their signatures.
Animals from Kharkiv Oblast are being evacuated to the eco-park in Kovalivka, in Poltava Oblast. Panthers, Japanese macaques, cougars, jaguars, and reindeer came from Feldman Ecopark.
Poltava residents continue to volunteer in various areas. Thanks to the support of not indifferent volunteers of Poltava were able to buy four solar panels for recharging gadgets and connecting electrical appliances at checkpoints.
At the Poltava point of delivery of things, about 50 tons of clothes were distributed to the settlers, which operates basised on the Kotlyarevsky Regional Library. From 100 to 500 migrants come to the point every day. Another Center for Humanitarian Aid for Displaced Persons has opened at the Kyiv Shopping and Entertainment Center. Here IDPs can get clothes, hygiene products, and food.
“Poltava Battalion of Indifferent” sent 60 tons of humanitarian aid in a week. Volunteers made 76 military trips to Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Donetsk, and Kyiv oblasts. Among the help are equipment, machinery, equipment, first aid kits, household items, hygiene products, and food. As part of the Food Regiment charity event in Poltava, there are already the first achievements. They collected 39571 hryvnias, which will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and Territorial Defense Forces.
Vinnytsia
Zhmerynka
The situation in the city is under control. No fighting took place, and the infrastructure is working at full capacity. Territorial Defense Forces patrol the city and checkpoints. Today it became known about another dead soldier from the community, people in mourning.
Western oblasts
Lviv Oblast
There was a threat of air and missile strikes. Currently, the situation is calm and under control. 80% of volunteers at the Main Railway Station of Lviv and in the humanitarian headquarters of the Oblast are young people. About 50 volunteer and public organizations are working with young people in the Lviv Oblast. The Lviv Regional Youth Center organized three humanitarian headquarters and raised more than half a million hryvnias to help the AFU.
Another 2115 people from other oblasts of Ukraine were resettled in Lviv Oblast. 16 000 school-age children from other oblasts returned to school. According to this indicator, Lviv Oblast is the leader in Ukraine.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
The situation in the Oblast is calm. Yesterday, April 11th, at a regular meeting of the operational regional headquarters, a decision was made to change the curfew in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. These changes will affect Ivano-Frankivsk public transport, which will be able to travel earlier.
In addition, from tomorrow, there will be a trolleybus that will remind citizens about our Hero cities: Bucha, Hostomel, Irpin, Chernihiv, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Volnovakha, Kherson. The emblems of the mentioned cities will be inscribed on this trolleybus.
The sowing campaign is actively going on in the Oblast.
Rivne Oblast
The situation has been relatively calm, with just one air raid alert. The AFU are patrolling the border with belarus.
Territorial Defence Forces representatives are on duty and man the checkpoints. Mobile teams have started working with IDPs in the Oblast. The groups feature psychologists, social workers, and lawyers.
An education hub has been established at the premises of the Rivne Small Academy of Sciences for Young Students with free-of-charge Ukrainian courses.
The citizens are united and assist volunteer centers. The Oblast received 50 tons of medications from U. S. benefactors. An ambulance, medicines, and tactical vests arrived from friendly charity providers from Lithuania.
Rivne volunteers provide household appliances to hostels where IDPs stay.
The Ukrainian community and donors collect the money needed to purchase the appliances from Washington. The sowing campaign goes on in the Rivne Oblast. 15 enterprises from areas affected by the war have relocated to the Oblast.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
On the night of April 12th, the russian invaders launched a missile strike against the area, Oblast Military Administration Chair Serghiy Hamaliy informs. The strike damaged infrastructure and caused a promptly quenched fire – no casualties or wounded. The official did not provide any additional details of the event. Since the start of the war, the Oblast has received more than 137 thousand IDPs; they are assisted with settling up, accommodation, and humanitarian aid.
Khmelnytskyi
As of April 12th, the situation in the city is under control. IDPs arriving in Khmelnytskyi are given special kits of foodstuffs and hygiene items (personal, family packs, and for children. Around two thousand kits have been distributed to date.
The military engineers have been given a modern piece of equipment, a UK-made excavator worth nearly EUR90 thousand. The military unit has never dealt with such equipment before.
An education hub that is starting to work in the Oblast will allow residents and IDPs to upgrade their professional skills, retrain, and master a new occupation and set of skills. All hub services are free of charge. The hub in Khmelnytskyi is the first in the all-Ukrainian network being set up by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine jointly with the Institute for Education Content Modernisation and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education. An online kindergarten offers the youngest merry games and fun activities: fairy tale yoga and English for kids classes and other exciting pastime options. Those interested in learning Ukrainian or English are offered respective online courses with innovative techniques to improve their command of the language. Another important line of activity is qualifications upgrade for educators in all areas.
Kamyanets-Podilskyi
The AFU are on duty. The Territorial Defense Forces patrols strategic facilities. In the scope of the adopted program, the Territorial Defense Forces has been able to procure building materials, equipment, first-aid kits, backpacks, roll mats, and other needed things.
A cargo from Italy reached the central municipal humanitarian aid center. The commission will take stock of it and distribute it as required. IPDs keep coming to the city. It had 220 of them officially register and settle just yesterday. Volunteers provide meals to around 3.5 thousand IDPs.
711 internally displaced children are learning at local schools. The Centre for Creative Children and Youth arranges artistic and sports events for the little IDPs.
The Social Protection Department continues collecting applications for IDP certificates (4.5 thousand issued so far). The Housing and Utilities Department accepts requests for compensation for free-of-charge accommodation of IDPs. The registration officers have already processed 159 individuals and provided advice to two hundred residents. The local branch of Prosvita Society has addressed the government requesting the renaming of Gagarina and Pushkina Streets into O. Koshytsia and M. Leontovycha.
Chernivtsi Oblast
The situation in the Oblast remains calm and controllable. A new military unit has been established in the Oblast. The Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration Chair gave an interview to Bild, Germany. He mentioned Ukraine in need of such armaments that could stop the russian onslaught: armored vehicles, tanks, airplanes of either soviet-type or more modern ones.
Chernivtsi Oblast Council Chair Oleksiy Boyko, while on a working visit to the Hero Town of Hostomel, assured the Oblast’s readiness to assist with the restoration of Hostomel. Another yet evacuation train with 130 passengers from Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, who had to flee the horrors of the war, reached the Oblast. A local dentist in Chernivtsi will treat internally displaced children free of charge.
Zakarpatska Oblast
The situation is calm here. A range of activities for IDPs continues in the Oblast: e. g., both IDPs and locals have been able to learn the art of Transcarpathian Easter egg decoration in Uzhhorod scans under the guidance of an artist and a professor of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts Roman Pylyn.
Volunteers from the Everyone Has a Second Chance Foundation in the village of Barvinok set up a shelter for cats and dogs evacuated from the Kyiv Oblast. At the time of the full-scale war, the volunteers from Kyiv have been able to evacuate some 140 pets.
