About us: The “Active Community” initiative was launched by activists of the “Republika” Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), which focused on the activation and involvement of Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025: to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in making decisions and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.
Ukraine in brief:
The 132nd day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation to the russian military invasion continues.
The aggressor continues to launch missile attacks on military and civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions. At the same time, the threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of belarus remains. According to available information, the control and notification system is being checked in the armed forces of belarus.
In the Siverskyi direction, the enemy provides increased protection of the section of the Ukrainian-russian border. In addition, the enemy fired at Ukrainian positions in the area of Mkhy settlement and carried out an air strike near Esman.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is defending on previously captured lines. The invaders used tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery to shell the areas of the settlements of Uda, Dementiivka, Nove, Ruski Tyshki, Tsyrkuny, Kutuzivka, Bazalivka, Pryshyb, Shevelivka, and Protopopivka. The enemy conducted an assault near Sosnivka, was unsuccessful and retreated. The Russians also launched an airstrike in the Kharkiv area.
In the direction of Sloviansk, the russians are trying to improve the tactical position of their units. Artillery shelling was recorded near Dibrovne, Dolyna and Adamivka. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled enemy assaults in the Krasnopillya area.
In the Donetsk direction, the main efforts of the enemy are concentrated on taking control of the Bakhmut-Lysychansk road and attempts to seize the settlement of Bilogorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy fired at civilian infrastructure in the Kryva Luka and Serebryanka districts, launched an air-missile strike near Siversk. Fighting continues in the Belogorivka area.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired mortars, barrel and rocket artillery at the Ukrainian troops in the areas of Kodema, Pokrovske, Zaytseve, Zalizne and Novoselivka settlements.
With the support of artillery and operational-tactical aviation, the occupiers carried out assaults in the areas of Spirne and Vershyna settlements. The fighting continues.
Artillery shelling continues along the contact line in Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia directions. The enemy carried out airstrikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Avdiivka area.
In the South Buz direction, the enemy carried out systematic shelling of civilian and military infrastructure from barrel and rocket artillery in the areas of the settlements of Osokorivka, Dobryanka, Potemkine, Ivanivka, Berezneguvate, Partyzanske, Chervona Dolyna, Kyselivka and Myrne. There remains a further threat of missile strikes on the region’s critical infrastructure.
Ukrainian units continue to successfully carry out missile and artillery fire missions in the specified directions. It is becoming more and more difficult for the enemy to replenish units suffering losses as a result of waging war on the territory of Ukraine.
Northern Oblasts
Kyiv Oblast
Demining continues. Over the past day, 345 explosive objects were neutralized.
Yesterday, the Deputy Head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, Mykola Boyko, held a working meeting with the Temporary Chargé d’Affaires of Spain in Ukraine, Pablo Gan Quesada, and the Embassy of Spain adviser, Javier Fuentes Leja. The representatives of the two countries talked about partnership and directions of assistance in reconstruction. They discussed the prospects for the participation of representatives of Spain in the reconstruction of Kyiv Oblast.
The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration agreed on cooperation with the international non-governmental organization “Project HOPE”. Currently, the organization has participated in the reconstruction of medical facilities in Irpin and Bucha. The organization will also extend assistance to social infrastructure facilities. In particular, in Borodyanka – to a kindergarten, municipal pharmacies and hospital heating, in Zagaltsy and Dmytrivka – to medical institutions.
In the oblast, 11 more kindergartens started working in offline mode. At present, 97 kindergartens are already working in the capital region.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Artillery of the 95th brigade of amphibious assault troops destroyed the armored vehicles of the russian occupiers in a flash.
Inspections are underway in Zhytomyr to see how the evacuation of shopping centers takes place during air alerts.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSE) exposed the assistant of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine for treason. The SSE also eliminated a powerful channel of illegal legalization of russians who fled russia to Ukraine.
With the financial support of the EU, a “hotline” has been launched for psychological assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war.
People en masse are discussing the official liberation of Zmiinyi Island.
Almost 60 residents of the Zhytomyr Oblast have completed training under a special program and are ready to adopt a child during the war.
The coordinator of AUI “Active Community” conducted consultations for internally displaced persons. She also established contacts with representatives of the Zhytomyr City Council.
Chernihiv Oblast
Yesterday evening, rescuers received a report about a fire in a grain warehouse on the territory of the “Khutirske” farm in the village of Zagrebellia (Sosnytsia community). The fire engulfed the roof of the buildings and the adjacent warehouse section with a total area of about 800 square meters. The probable cause of the fire is suspected to be arson.

Around 1:50 p.m., the russians shelled the area near the village of Bleshnya (Semenivka community). The head of the Oblast Military Administration Vyacheslav Chaus commented: “We suffered 40 explosions – blows. Probably, the shots were fired from multiple rocket launchers and another one – probably from artillery”.
Germany will take care of the post-war reconstruction of Chernihiv Oblast.
Sumy Oblast
In the evening, the russians continued shelling the oblast. After 6 p.m., mortar shelling from the territory of the russian federation began on the Bilopillya community, there were 24 hits. The enemies also dropped a grenade from the drone.
From 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the russians launched missiles twice at the village of the Bilopillya community. 5 missiles in total. After 9:00 p.m., the fire from mortars and self-propelled guns continued. At least two people were injured.
During the night, the russians shelled the territories of five communities: Bilopillya, Yunakivka, Shostka, Shalygine, Seredyno-Buda. There were more than 60 shots (missile strikes, mortar shots, self-propelled guns, etc.)
Almost at 4:00 a.m., one of Shostka’s enterprises was hit by a missile. One person was injured. After that, there were 8 mortar attacks and 12 shots from self-propelled guns in the vicinity of Seredyna-Buda. 2 private houses and a power line were damaged.
From the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in Lugano (Switzerland) it became known that Canada will help rebuild Sumy Oblast.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
At 2:00 a.m., the enemy launched a missile attack on the educational institution in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. The building was partially destroyed, and the russian rocket left a gap in the territory. There was no military infrastructure nearby. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
During the past 24 hours, the enemy has been shelling populated areas of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Bogoduhiv and Izium Raions with artillery and rocket launcher systems. Private houses were damaged, fires broke out in open areas and were extinguished by Ukrainian rescuers. Yesterday, an 81-year-old woman was injured as a result of shelling in Kutuzivka (Kharkiv Raion).
Fierce fighting is taking place on the front line. In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy was focused on restraining the Ukrainian military.
In the Izium area, the occupiers shelled Ukrainian positions and tried to launch an offensive in the direction of Dolyna village.
The Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled the assault attempts and forced the invaders to retreat with losses.
The USA and Turkey will undertake the post-war reconstruction of Kharkiv Oblast.
Central Oblast
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Yesterday evening, the enemies shelled the Apostoliv community. In Zelenodolsk, the enemy hit a territory with country houses, and in Velyka Kostromka one of the streets was under fire. The village is partially without electricity. Later, the enemy hit an agricultural enterprise in Velyka Kostromka with artillery, destroying grain warehouses.
At 4 a.m., 6 rockets were fired at the city of Dnipro, all of which were shot down by air defense systems. A fire broke out as a result of falling debris. Another rocket hit a private house in the city of Pokrov.
Dnipro authorities signed a memorandum with the German city of Cologne. This document defines short-term (humanitarian aid), medium-term (energy conservation, education, ecology, architecture) and long-term (partnership agreement) goals of cooperation.
Six out of seven districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast have started harvesting. Farmers harvest barley, wheat, rapeseed, and peas. In total, almost 2 million hectares of fields will be harvested.
Kirovohrad Oblast
An air-raid warning went off in Oblast due to the threat of a missile strike.
In general, the situation in the community is calm and under control. The Territorial Defense Forces stand guard at checkpoints and patrol the city together with the police.
Rescuers conducted a training evacuation in one of the shopping centers of Kropyvnytskyi. It was conducted to remind the staff and visitors of the rules of behavior during an air-raid warning and to motivate them not to ignore the warning. The visitors were informed about the educational warning and the algorithm of actions. Afterwards, the citizens were taken to the shelter, rescuers conducted explanatory work with them and distributed information leaflets with the order of actions during the threat of an air attack.
The Olexandria City Psychological Hub continues a series of trainings for teenagers. Every week, free trainings on the development of communication skills are held for teenagers on the premises of the youth library.
The AUI Active Community coordinator of provided consultations to the displaced persons on obtaining documents on the status of an internally displaced person, as well as information on the available vacancies in the Oblast centre and surrounding communities.
Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion
Air raid warnings were going off yesterday.
The last day was relatively calm in the Khmilnyk community.
This year, the city of Kozyatyn, Khmilnyk Raion, turns 148 years old. And although the citizens do not have a celebratory mood, the birthday of their native city cannot be forgotten and left out of the spotlight, because it was Kozyatyn with its spirit and atmosphere that raised many Heroes, real sons and daughters of Ukraine, who defended the honor and glory of their little homeland and currently defend the sovereignty of the state.
The AUI Active Community coordinator in Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion met with IDPs and informed them about the places of delivery of humanitarian aid, in particular their location and working hours.
Western Oblasts
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
In general, the situation in Oblast is stable and under control.
Yesterday, July 4th, in Ivano-Frankivsk, on Vichev Maidan, a photo exhibition dedicated to the events at Azovstal plant was opened.
Anyone could have brought here their works related to the theme of the events that took place at Azovstal. Such exhibitions take place in five cities of Ukraine, in particular in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Kamianets Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi and the Polish city of Krakow. Exhibitions are organized with the assistance and support of the Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal.The good news is that the Oblast Clinical Hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk received bottles of Spinraza medicine. It is one of the three drugs available in the world used in the treatment of children with spinal muscular atrophy. Also, this drug is called the “most expensive injection” in the world, because one vial costs more than 100,000 dollars.
Rivne Oblast
The general situation is relatively calm, as of 17:30 there was one air-raid warning.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. The Territorial Defense Forces stand guard and patrol at checkpoints.
In the educational institutions of Rivne Oblast, work on the arrangement of shelters is ongoing. In Rivne Oblast, people continue to check the security conditions and the readiness of educational institutions before the start of studies. Positive conclusions of the commissions regarding shelters have already been given for 1/3 of the buildings. Checks are ongoing.
43 damaged buildings of Rivne Oblast were included in the operational plan for the reconstruction of the country. This is stated in the plan for the operational reconstruction of the social infrastructure of Ukraine Fast Recovery, developed by the Office of the President.
42 doctors from the Luhansk oncology dispensary work in one of the communities in Rivne Oblast. It was on the premises of the district hospital that the facilities of medical facility were placed.
Pharmacies in Rivne Oblast help the military. Medicines worth more than 2 million hryvnias were handed over to the military by pharmaceutical institutions of Rivne Oblast.
The Rivne community will receive more than six million hryvnias thanks to cooperation with the international organization “SOS Ukraine”. Internally displaced persons can write an application to receive financial assistance from “SOS Ukraine”.
Kamianets-Podilskyi Oblast
Tonight there was an air-raid alarm. There is no information concerning damage.
The City Council has published a message from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the ban on the departure of conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists from their place of residence without the permission of the head of the corresponding territorial recruitment and social support center (enlistment office).
The mayor’s team is constantly working to find additional sources of meeting the needs of the community’s educational institutions. Boilers, electric kettles, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, irons, freezers, refrigerators, electric convectors (heaters) for the total amount of 400 thousand hryvnias were handed over to schools and kindergartens yesterday.
Yesterday, Kamianets sheltered another 18 people from war zones.
The fuel situation at gas stations is stabilizing. Gas, gasoline and diesel fuel are available in the community at various gas stations.
Today, the toponymy commission continues its work in the Сity Сouncil. Clerks and workers of the community’s villages conducted a meeting. The mayor gave them a task to assign an employee to each village, establish the days when officials will visit the villages, and work out the issue of the availability of workers who can improve the situation in village. They talked about internally displaced persons, and about help and the level of responsibility everyone has at his/her working place.
The AUI Active Community regional coordinator joined the toponymic commission which worked today on the creation of explanatory materials for deputies.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Currently, the security situation in the territory of Chernivtsi Oblast is fully controlled.
Bukovyna residents pay their last tribute to the Hero, who gave his life for Ukraine in the battle against the russian invaders. Junior sergeant Mykola Unguryan had his last journey in Vashkivtsi.
Stepan Rachuk, a military man from Chernivtsi Oblast, was posthumously awarded the medal “For Sacrifice and Love of Ukraine”. This is a medal of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
At the charity fair held in Zhovtnevyi Park in Chernivtsi, it was possible to collect almost 170,000 hryvnias. People have already bought a “Banderomobile” for this money. The bus was filled with humanitarian aid and sent to the front line.
In Chernivtsi, on the premises of the humanitarian headquarters, children were engaged in an interesting activity, where they got to know the work of police officers. They tried on body armor, used a walkie-talkie, etc. The children also made badges with reflective elements, and studied the rules of traffic and safe behavior while being near the water.

Zakarpattia Oblast
The other day, guests from Slovakia visited the Oblast Children’s Home in Svaliava. Thus, it was a meeting of the Prime Minister of Slovakia on cooperation with Ukraine, Eduard Buraš, with the clergy and social workers. The partners came to offer help in setting up a rehabilitation department in the Oblast Children’s Home in Svaliava to rehabilitate local orphans and children who were transported from war zones.
In Zakarpattia Oblast, a creative lavender photo tour was organized to support Andrii Lyubka’s auto initiative. With the purpose of supporting the army and preserving memories in “purple” photos, people organized a creative photo tour to Lavender Mountain. Lavender Mountain is an Instagram place in Perechyn that is popular among locals and guests of Zakarpattia. People have combined business with pleasure as they organized a creative photo tour and now help the army. The participants are said to have beautiful photo memories of the trip, and hand-painted pictures, while at the same time they raised the funds to support the army.
The AUI Active Community regional coordinator continues to weave camouflage nets and has filmed the work of volunteers.
In addition, “Volunteers of the Uzhhorod National University” announced an open-ended collection of children’s drawings and letters that strengthen the military’s motivation and belief in victory. Anyone can bring drawings to the volunteer headquarters.
