Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The Kyiv authorities have made further changes to the “Defender of Kyiv” program for 2022‒2024. According to the adopted decision, the budget of this program has been increased from UAH 7.6 billion to UAH 8.1 billion. The capital’s leadership plans to allocate additional funding in the amount of UAH 500 million for the centralized procurement of UAVs.
Kyiv renamed 29 more public venues as part of de-russification and the perpetuation of the memory of Ukrainian heroes. In particular, a street named after Denys Monastyrskyi and an alley in honor of the “Da Vinci” fighter appeared in the city.
Kyiv Oblast
A year ago, in Brovary, a helicopter lost its bearings and crashed in a residential neighborhood. The crash killed 14 people, including one child, three rescuers, and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Thirty-one people were injured, including 13 children. To date, the investigation has established that the cause of the tragedy in Brovary was “a blatant violation of traffic safety and air transport operation rules by State Emergency Service officials.”

Kharkiv Oblast

Kherson Oblast
