Kyiv Oblast

Zhytomyr Oblast 

In Zhytomyr, students of the third lyceum collected money and purchased a reconnaissance drone for servicemen of the 66th separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave.

In Zvyagel, they are working on creating a rehabilitation center for veterans and their family members. According to preliminary estimates, at least two million dollars will be needed to implement this idea — the local government is looking for donors and benefactors to implement the project.

Chernihiv Oblast 

FPV drone, MLRS, mortars: this night, russian troops attacked three border communities in Chernihiv Oblast.

Sumy Oblast 

During the day, the russian army carried out 10 shellings of Sumy Oblast, 88 strikes from various weapons were recorded. Four communities were shelled. Two private residential buildings were damaged.

As a result of shelling from the territory of russia, 1,200 consumers in five settlements were cut off. A total of 3,400 metering points remain without light in the region.

Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast 

About 20 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast were attacked by russia in a day.

Late in the evening, russian troops attacked the village of Mokra Rokytna in the Novovodolazy community with at least five Shahed drones. The drones hit a warehouse with grain and a cowshed: at least 15 two-month-old calves were under the rubble. The information is being clarified, because the rubble continues to be dismantled.

“Steel Border” fighters hit five russian FPV drones: four were shot down, one managed to land.

In the Kupyansk direction, the russians made five offensive attempts in the area of ​​Synkivka, all assaults were repulsed.

Donetsk Oblast 

During February 22, the russian army shelled eight cities, villages and towns of Donetsk Oblast. In total, 1,599 strikes were carried out in the region. An agricultural enterprise was damaged and 480 tons of grain were destroyed.

On February 22, one person was killed and 19 were injured in Donetsk Oblast from enemy shelling.

The Ukrainian military repelled 43 attacks by the russian occupying forces in the Maryinka direction. In total, 86 battles took place in Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast.

Over 12,000 families in the region received assistance for heating from international organizations last fall and this winter. Charitable organizations are preparing new programs to support the frontline area: these will be mini-grants for entrepreneurs and “vouchers” for products.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Yesterday morning, the russian army shelled Kurakhove with bombs, hitting a thermal power plant, injuring nine power workers. 

In the evening, russian troops attacked the village of Konstantinopolske in the Kurakhove community with “Uragan” rocket launchers, killing a man who was driving a car. Five other adults and four teenagers were injured.

On February 22, russian occupation forces increased the number of attacks in the Mariinka sector. Ukrainian troops repelled 30 attacks by russian infantry in the area of Novomykhailivka.

At night, the russian army shelled the Myrnohrad community. According to preliminary information, the enemy fired with S-300 missiles. Rescuers pulled a man alive from the rubble of a house destroyed by shelling. He was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, but died during resuscitation.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolaiv Oblast 

For the second day in a row, russian troops have been striking at the Halytsynivka community. On February 23, at dawn, the community’s settlement was shelled with artillery.

Also during the day, the russian army struck at the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. There were no casualties.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Russian troops conducted 401 attacks on the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday, February 22. In particular, they fired from artillery, used drones and MLRS. 

Odesa Oblast

During a drone attack by russia on the evening of February 22, one of the affected “Shaheds” fell on an enterprise in the coastal zone of Odesa. While extinguishing the fire, rescuers found three bodies. Another person was rescued from the damaged building.

Air defense forces shot down nine Shahed-131/136 drones. The X-31P and X-22 missiles, which were fired by the russian federation from aircraft in the Black Sea, “lost their combat capability in the air.”

Kherson Oblast

In the evening, the russian army shelled Novotyagynka, Kherson Oblast. There is one casualty.

In total, the russian military attacked Kherson Oblast 287 times over the yesterday. They hit a cell tower in Beryslav raion, an archival institution and port infrastructure in Kherson. One person was killed and two were wounded.

At night, the enemy struck again at Kherson – four fires broke out. A residential building, outbuildings and a warehouse were on fire.

Power grids in Kherson have been damaged after the nighttime strikes by russia. In total, more than 3,400 metering points in the city are currently without power. There are 45 settlements in the Oblast without power supply.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In Dnipro, two more people are likely trapped under the rubble after a drone hit a nine-story building. Eight residents of the building were injured. Three apartments in the building were destroyed, and 29 reports of property damage were received. Cars parked in the yard were also damaged. 

An industrial facility was hit as a result of a nighttime attack in Dnipro. Six fuel tanks were damaged, 4 of them completely destroyed and 2 damaged. The fire lasted until the morning.

Two businesses were damaged by shelling in Nikopol on the night of February 23. Three private houses, outbuildings and power lines were also damaged. No one was killed or injured.

Five UAVs were shot down by the air defense forces of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on the night of February 23.

Poltava Oblast

On the night of February 23, 2024, the military shot down four drones over the Poltava Oblast.

Western Oblasts

Volyn Oblast

Near the Dorohusk-Yahodyn checkpoint, unidentified persons dumped a shipment of Ukrainian rapeseed from three grain trucks. The cargo was in transit through Poland to Hamburg, Germany.

Lviv Oblast

Ukrainian farmers brought agricultural machinery damaged by russian shelling and mines to the Krakivets-Korczowa checkpoint. The event is being held as a result of Polish farmers blocking the border at six checkpoints with Poland. As of February 20, there was one of the largest queues of Ukrainian trucks at the Krakowka border crossing.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with diplomats, representatives of states and international organizations in Lviv. Among them was an American delegation led by US Democratic Party leader Schumer. The plan is to discuss the issue of weapons that Ukraine needs. An agreement on security guarantees is signed with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Denmark became the first country outside the G7 to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.
