Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

German Vice-Chancellor Robert Habek arrived in the capital of Ukraine for a visit together with a delegation. The focus of his trip is russia’s massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, emergency aid, as well as preparations for a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which is planned in Berlin in June.  

Zhytomyr Oblast 

36 generators were brought from Zhytomyr Oblast to Kharkiv, which the russian army is trying to leave without electricity. 27 communities responded to the call to share energy.

Chernihiv Oblast 

Russian troops fired mortars and barrel artillery at four villages on the border of Chernihiv Oblast last day.

The search and rescue operation ended in Chernihiv. The number of people killed as a result of yesterday’s rocket attack has increased to 18, another 78 people were injured, including four children. 28 buildings and more than 500 apartments were damaged. Conservation of damaged houses continues. A day of mourning has been declared in the city today.

In the border region of Chernihiv Oblast, the russians attacked with drones a car that brought bread to a store.

Sumy Oblast 

During the past day, the army of russia attacked the Sumy Oblast with anti-aircraft guns, mortars and drones. 39 explosions were recorded.

On the night of April 18, the russian military shelled the Bilopillya community in the Sumy Oblast with a grenade launcher, there were 10 explosions.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast 

On April 17, 22 settlements along the border of Kharkiv Oblast were attacked by russia with various types of weapons.

The russians hit a farm in Kindrashivka in the Kupyansk raion with high-explosive aerial bombs.

At midnight today, russia struck the Podolsk of the Kupyansk raion: a private house was on fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, the russians attacked Ukrainian positions in the Novosergiivka area four times.

Donetsk Oblast 

Ten rocket strikes were carried out by russian troops in Donetsk Oblast last night.

74 attacks were repelled by the Defense Forces at the front in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts last day. The occupying forces attacked mostly in the Bakhmut and Novopavlivka directions, where they stormed Ukrainian positions with the support of aviation.

In Donetsk Oblast, since April 18, restrictions on electricity consumption have been in effect for industry.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Nine cows, five dogs, chickens, and a cat were evacuated by law enforcement officers from the Lyman community. An elderly couple, to avoid being seen by russian drones that constantly fly over Torske, drove all the livestock to another village at night, where they were taken by the “White Angels” law enforcement officers.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

On the night of April 18, the russian army shelled the town of Selydove with four rockets, killing a woman. The shelling damaged the administrative building of an agricultural enterprise, a shop, and private houses. 

Six rockets were fired at Pokrovsk by the russian military, damaging an enterprise and eight civilian cars. 

In the morning, the russian army shelled the village of Ocheretyne with artillery, a shell hit a house, killing a 56-year-old man.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

The Chasiv Yar community came under fire today, a 74-year-old woman was wounded.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolaiv Oblast

On April 17, russian troops attacked Ochakiv, four people were hospitalized. On the same day, mortar and artillery attacks were recorded on the waters of the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. No one was injured.

Zaporizhzhya Oblast

The russian army conducted 235 attacks on seven towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia Oblast during the day, April 17.

Five attacks by the russian army were repelled by the Defense Forces in the Orikhivske direction near Staromayorske in Donetsk Oblast yesterday.

In Zaporizhzhia, a court found guilty of aiding and abetting russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s nuclear power plant, Yuriy Chernichuk, who, according to investigators, voluntarily cooperated with the russians and headed the temporarily seized Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The court sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

Odesa Oblast

A center for social and psychological assistance is open in Odesa for IDPs and those who have lost their homes. It is designed for 120 people and has a kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and other facilities for families with children. 

The Yuzhne community received 140 laptops from UNICEF. They will be used by displaced children, children with disabilities, children from low-income families or deprived of parental care, etc.

Kherson Oblast

As a result of russian shelling in Kherson Oblast over the yesterday, 16 people were wounded. The russian army shelled 8 communities and Kherson. An administrative building, two private houses and a car were damaged.

At night, the russian army shelled Kherson. Russian shells damaged heating pipes.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the night of April 18, russian troops attacked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with drones. One “shahed” was destroyed over Kryvyi Rih raion. Four drones hit one of the villages of the Myrove community in the Nikopol Oblast. There was damage, no one was killed or injured.

This afternoon the enemy launched a missile strike in Dnipro raion. Preliminary, two men were wounded. They are hospitalized in moderate condition. An infrastructure facility and an enterprise were damaged. There are several fires.

Poltava Oblast

A UAV was shot down in Poltava Oblast on the night of April 18. The russian military launched the drones from the territory of russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Last night, air defense forces shot down an enemy drone in the sky over Vinnytsia Oblast. The incident was uneventful.

Western Oblasts

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

At night, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 2 Shahed UAVs. No one was killed or injured, and no property was damaged.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In the morning, russian troops attacked critical infrastructure facilities in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast with drones, and all the drones were shot down by air defense forces. The falling debris caused fires, and no one was injured.

Ternopil Oblast

Last night, air defense forces shot down an enemy drone in the sky over Ternopil Oblast. There were no consequences.
