Northern oblasts

Kyiv

On the night of May 8, russian troops launched a missile attack on Kyiv and the oblast. The air defense forces destroyed all aerial targets in the area of the capital. No casualties or damage were reported in the city.

Kyiv Oblast

The russian attack on the Kyiv Oblast with cruise missiles and Shahed drones damaged 14 private houses and one car, and destroyed one house. Falling debris was recorded in 4 raions of the oblast. One of the settlements is partially de-energized due to damage to overhead power lines. No hits to critical infrastructure were reported in the Kyiv Oblast. A 59-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were injured in the Brovary Raion as a result of the enemy attack. Both of them were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.

Chernihiv Oblast

On May 7, russian troops shelled three villages in the border communities of the Chernihiv Oblast. The enemy fired mortars, tube artillery, and grenade launchers.

Sumy Oblast

On May 7, the Sumy Oblast was shelled 10 times from the territory of the russian federation. A total of 49 explosions were recorded.

Last night and in the morning, the russian army shelled the territory of the Sumy Oblast three times. 12 explosions of mortar shells were recorded. The Bilopillia and Esman communities came under fire.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

On May 7, about 15 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast came under the russian federation’s shelling. In particular, a civilian enterprise suffered damage in the village of Radkivka; a private house was hit in Kucherivka.   

Nearly 34 hectares of the forestry area burned down in the Kurylivka community of the Kupiansk Raion. The shelling of three villages from the territory of the russian federation caused fires in ecosystems.

This afternoon, russians shelled the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. The enemy hit a stadium on the territory of a school. Three boys were wounded as they were playing soccer at the time of the attack. One boy suffered a traumatic amputation. Two adults were also wounded.

A subversive and reconnaissance group of up to 10 russians was blocked in the Kharkiv Oblast by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the morning of May 8. The enemy retreated after suffering losses.  

The Ukrainian military repelled 16 russian attacks, in particular in the areas of Synkivka, Pishchane and Berestove in the Kupiansk sector, over the course of a day.

Donetsk Oblast

Yesterday, the russians shelled six settlements in the Donetsk Oblast with aircraft, Urahan MRLS and artillery. Nine houses and one utility room were damaged.

The Ukrainian military repelled 80 assaults by russians on the eastern front during May 7. Most attacks were recorded in the Avdiivka and Bakhmut directions.

At the end of May or the beginning of June, the occupying forces may complete the construction of a railway line in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk Oblast, which will connect Rostov-on-Don, Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Luhansk Oblast

On the night of May 7-8, an oil depot caught fire in the temporarily occupied Luhansk, oil refinery products and infrastructure were destroyed.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On May 7, the russian army twice fired artillery at the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community. There are no injured people.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

299 strikes were carried out by the russian army on towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast during the day, May 7.

This morning, the russian army massively attacked Zaporizhzhia. Enemies targeted critical and civil infrastructure facilities: a garage cooperative, one of the city’s parks and city electric transport, an animal shelter. There is destruction, in particular, of the building of the fire and rescue department. Previously, there were no casualties or injuries.

Odesa Oblast

The number of people killed due to the russian attack on Odesa on April 29 has increased to seven. Another man died in the hospital.

Kherson Oblast

As a result of russian shelling in the Kherson Oblast yesterday, one person died and three were injured. An administrative building, an educational institution, a gas pipeline, agricultural machinery, a high-rise building, and almost 100 buildings were damaged. The russian army shelled 14 settlements in the region.

At night, the russian army again shelled Bilozerka in the Kherson Oblast. One person died, three others were injured. 7 fires broke out.

In the morning, russian troops attacked the railway station in Kherson. The tracks and station building were damaged, passengers are safe.

Another 11 children from one to 16 years of age were taken from the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast to the territory controlled by Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 78 children have been returned.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

A 42-year-old man was injured as a result of shelling in the Nikopol Raion on the night of May 8. He has a shrapnel wound. As a result of the attack by drones and artillery, 5 private houses, 2 farm buildings, 2 cars, a garage, a gas pipeline, and a power line were damaged.

At night, russian troops attacked the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with attack drones of the Shahed-131/136 type and various types of missiles. Air defense forces shot down 8 missiles and 5 Shahed drones in the sky over the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Kirovohrad Oblast

A critical infrastructure facility was damaged in the Oleksandria Raiob. An 8-year-old child was injured. 100 private houses were damaged.

Cherkasy Oblast

This morning in the sky over the Cherkasy Raion, air defense forces shot down a Shahed drone. People survived. One of the houses was damaged.

Poltava Oblast

In the Poltava Raion, an energy infrastructure facility was hit. There were no casualties.

Vinnytsia Oblast

This morning, russians attacked critical infrastructure facilities in the Vinnytsia Oblast. As a result of the missile hitting, a large-scale fire broke out. None of the employees of the facility and the civilian population were injured.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

In the morning, two objects of critical energy infrastructure were hit in the Chervonohrad and Stryi raions. The enemy launched 12 missiles in the area, 8 of them were shot down by air defense forces. It passed without victims and casualties.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

On May 8, 2024, the russian military shelled an energy infrastructure facility in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack.
