Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

A free inclusive taxi for military personnel was launched in Kyiv. It can be used by veterans who cannot move on their own, as well as those who can move but need more time, extra effort or assistance to do so.

In Kyiv, a heating point for the homeless was deployed near the Central Station. It will function throughout the cold winter months, and departmental security will monitor order.

Kyiv Oblast 

Residents of Kyiv Oblast were warned about the sounds of explosions: explosive objects were being destroyed in the Vyshgorod raion today, January 10.

In the Kyiv Oblast, 2 bridges damaged by russian aggression were rebuilt. These are bridges on the highways Peremoga – Baryshivka and Korniyivka – Nedra – Zgurivka – Berezan. Restoration of the bridge on the Vorzel-Zabuchchya highway through Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka is in progress.

In Makariv, the restoration of the 5th floor is in progress. Part of the building was destroyed by a Russian shell, it is being built “from scratch”. Part of the windows and balconies were replaced in the building, networks were damaged. Mounting of the facade is in progress.

In Bucha, the first in the raion Ecohub was opened – a sorting and collection point for household waste. Garbage will be sent for processing, and profits will be donated to the Armed Forces.

Zhytomyr Oblast

The ecosystem of Zhytomyr Oblast suffered losses of more than 427 million US dollars as a result of shelling and presence during a full-scale invasion on the territory of the region by russian troops. In the course of the shelling, the land, water resources, and air were contaminated with chemical substances, and animals died.

The Zhytomyr Oblast Philharmonic held a performance called “Resistance. The Road to Victory”, which raised money to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 29 pupils and teachers of the Baranivka Art School took part in the performance.

Chernihiv Oblast

Russian troops shelled two communities on the border of Chernihiv Oblast.

Sumy Oblast 

During the day, January 9, the russian army shelled 9 communities of Sumy Oblast. There is damage in the Krasnopillia community. A total of 74 explosions were recorded.

In the evening of January 9, the russian army attacked a village in the Krasnopillia community with two drones. Four multi-apartment residential buildings, premises of the cultural center and a power line were damaged. 

Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast 

Yesterday, late in the evening, the russian military attacked Kharkiv with S-300 missiles from the territory of the Belgorod Oblast of the russian federation. There is damage to the territory and premises of the children’s health center in the middle of the city. No one was injured, as there were no people in the premises.

In Ukraine, the plan for demining agricultural lands has been updated. According to the plan, more than 512,000 hectares are subject to priority inspection, clearing and demining, 190,000 hectares in the Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Kharkiv Oblast, there are 898 points of invincibility, which can receive almost 40,000 residents of the Oblast. 150 points are open around the clock, others are open according to schedules.

In the underground school, which is being built in the Industrial district of Kharkiv, all the concrete structures have already been installed, and they are currently working on waterproofing and thermal insulation, the installation of sewage systems, water supply, etc. There are plans to build another underground school in the center of Kharkiv.

Donetsk Oblast

In the yesterday, invaders from the russian federation shelled residential areas in eight settlements of Donetsk Oblast 11 times. They hit with KAB-250 aerial bombs, from “Hrads” and artillery. 8 private houses were damaged.

Two people were injured in Avdiyivka and New York due to russian shelling.

The Ukrainian military repelled 48 attacks by russian troops in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. Most of the battles took place in the Avdiyivka direction.

According to the updated plan for the priority return of Ukrainian agricultural lands to economic exploitation, from the beginning of 2024, 12.8 thousand hectares of land in Donetsk Oblast are going to be demined.

The five-year-old daughter of a Ukrainian soldier was returned to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the girl was staying with her grandmother in one of the cities of Donetsk Oblast, which was quickly occupied by the russian army.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion 

Four more people who died during russian rocket attacks on Pokrovsk and Rivne of the Myrnograd community on January 6 have not yet been identified. Forensic experts managed to establish data on seven dead people.

In Pokrovsk and Rivne, more than 200 meters of gas pipelines were damaged by rocket fire on January 6 by russian troops, and more than 50 houses were left without gas supply. So far, repair works have been completed in Pokrovsk, and six private houses have been connected to the gas supply in Rivne.

Due to constant shelling by russian troops and deteriorating weather, humanitarian aid will not be provided in the Kurakhiv community. Currently, there is no centralized heating in Kurakhovo due to russian attacks on the Kurakhove thermal power plant.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion 

Yesterday, russia carried out an airstrike with a guided bomb on New York, which is in Donetsk Oblast. One person was injured, 5 houses were destroyed.

Mariupol

The Italian city of Modena revoked the permission to hold the russian exhibition “Mariupol – revival after the war” about the city under russian occupation. The decision was made after the appeal of the Ukrainian diplomatic corps. The exhibition was openly propaganda in nature.

Luhansk Oblast 

The enemy is gradually destroying Nevsky. Two more houses were destroyed. In the last two weeks, at least 12 houses cannot be restored after enemy shelling.

Yesterday, the invaders carried out an air raid on the Serebrian Forest, where Ukrainian defenders are defending. The enemy also shelled Bilogorivka.

Mykolaiv Oblast

On January 9, russian troops shelled the settlement of the Kutsurub community with artillery. There are no casualties.

During the day, Mykolaiv rescuers freed 14 cars from snow and icy roads. Among them are two ambulances.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast 

Yesterday, the occupiers of russia made 102 strikes on 19 settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast . 9 reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings. No casualties.

Two attacks by the russian military west of Verbove were repulsed by the Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

Collected data on the geolocation of enterprises of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine and the concentration of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia: the SBU detained a former law enforcement officer who, according to the investigation, tried to identify and transfer data to russia.

Odesa Oblast

In Odesa, an auction was held and a contract was concluded for the purchase of 3,000 FPV drones for over 48 million hryvnias. The first batch of ten kits should arrive no later than February 1, 2024. One set contains 100 drones.

As of the morning of January 10, 97 settlements in Odesa remained without power, one of them partially.

Kherson Oblast 

The russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 73 times over the past day. Delivered a missile strike, using ballistics. Critical infrastructure objects, a banking institution, a factory, an educational institution and an administrative building were damaged. Two people were injured.

One of the heads of the so-called “Labor and Social Security Administration of the russian” was detained in Kherson. She organized social payments exclusively in rubles and forced local residents to apply for russian citizenship. Currently in custody, she faces up to 10 years in prison.

From 12 dangerous settlements of the Kherson Oblast, which are under constant shelling by the russian army, 45 children were sent to Romania for temporary residence. They are accompanied by nine adults. This became possible with the assistance of the “Fight for Freedom” association.

Central Oblast 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 

Two private houses were damaged by a kamikaze drone strike in Nikopol on the night of January 10. An economic building and a power line were also affected. The russian troops also shelled the Marganets community with heavy artillery. There are no dead or injured.

Six military men from Novomoskovsk in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree. The awards were handed over to the soldiers’ relatives.

In 197 settlements of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast there is still no electricity supply due to weather conditions.

Cherkasy Oblast

In Cherkasy, defenders are taught emergency driving, including how to avoid getting into or getting out of emergencies with minimal damage. Each group has 4-6 lessons with instructors. The defenders will then pass on the knowledge gained to their teams.

The international organization IOM UN Migration has delivered more than 4,000 sets of blankets to internally displaced persons temporarily residing in Cherkasy Oblast. The aid was distributed among the communities. Then it will be delivered to the places of temporary residence of IDPs. Today there are 39 of them in the region.

Poltava Oblast

The Poltava City Council has announced a tender for the production of stands with photos of fallen soldiers under the “Poltava Remembers Heroes” project. There will be 100 structures in total.

The village of Dekabrysty in the Velykosorochynska community is to be renamed, as the name carries the symbolism of the russian empire.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi awarded two defenders from the Tulchyn community in Vinnytsia region with honorary awards.

A therapeutic toy room has been organized in Vinnytsia, where play and art therapy are provided to help children overcome psychological problems and difficulties. The room is located in the Vinnytsia City Central Library for Children and Youth. Services are provided free of charge.

Western Oblasts

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Two off-road vehicles were delivered by Khmelnytskyi volunteers to the military. The pickup trucks were purchased thanks to the cooperation of the NGO “”Protection – Association of Volunteers” and educational institutions of the Khmelnytskyi community. In total, schoolchildren raised half a million hryvnias at charity fairs.

A greenhouse was installed in the village of Mynkivtsi in the Dunayivtsi community in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, on the territory of the IDPs’ temporary residence. The area of the greenhouse is 240 square meters. The IDPs will grow vegetables not only for their own needs but also for sale. 

Kamianets-Podilskyi

At a meeting of the executive committee of the Kamianets-Podilsky City Council, the transfer of 5 drones with various modifications and charging stations for two military units performing missions in the Lyman and Avdiivka areas was approved for UAH 838 thousand.

Children from Konotop became participants in the “Children of War” project at the turn of 2023 and 2024. The project team organized excursions and entertainment for them.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Roman Tkachyshchen, a resident of the Sokyriany community, was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III degree. Vladyslav Sprinchinat, a resident of Revne village in the Mamayivska community, was presented with the Golden Cross by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi. In addition, the soldier was awarded the “Edelweiss” badge from the 128th separate mountain assault brigade, where he is currently serving.

An action in support of prisoners of war and missing Ukrainian soldiers titled “Captivity Kills” was held in Chernivtsi. It was held on the city’s Central Square. It was attended by relatives of prisoners of war and missing Ukrainian soldiers, as well as concerned citizens.

A Volkswagen Caravelle minibus was donated by Swedish benefactors for the needs of the units of the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces “West”.

Last year, almost UAH 400 million from the regional and local budgets of Chernivtsi Oblast was allocated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In 2023, employers in Bukovyna received UAH 3.5 million in compensation for employing 300 internally displaced persons.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The President of Ukraine posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree to Ivan Kocherzhat, a serviceman from the Dolyna community in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

Ternopil Oblast

In Ternopil Oblast, a center will be set up at the regional psychoneurological hospital to train multidisciplinary teams that will work with patients for their rehabilitation.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Specialists of the Dog Training Center of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Zakarpattia Oblast, together with their service dogs, continue to perform combat missions at the front. Mine clearance, work at checkpoints to search for explosive devices and weapons, and participation in special operations are just some of their tasks on the front line.
