Kyiv
Today in Kyiv, the funeral of Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, and other employees of the Ministry who died in Brovary was held. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena Zelenska attended the funeral.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is conducting security operations in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, in particular in the Lesnyi residential area and adjacent territories. Kyiv Oblast

SBU cyber specialists neutralized the Kremlin’s propaganda channel operating in the Kyiv Oblast. As a result of investigative actions and operative-search measures, a “follower” of Kirill Stremousov was exposed, who tried to organize an extensive network of spreading the Kremlin narratives about the war in Ukraine on the Internet. Based on the collected evidence, the SBU investigators served the suspect a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
An energy-efficient boiler house was installed in Pushcha-Vodytsia to replace the old one that was destroyed by enemy shelling. The new boiler house consumes significantly less gas and operates in automatic mode, so its maintenance requires minimal involvement of personnel.
Thanks to the cooperation of the “Irpin Reconstruction Summit” with the Italian Foundation “Terre des Hommes” and with the support of the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, 4 high-rise buildings are being restored in the hero city of Irpin. They have a total of 450 apartments, in which more than 1,200 people live. All residents have already returned to one of the buildings.
In the Romanivka microdistrict in Irpin, next to the destroyed bridge, through which the population of the Irpin area was evacuated during hostilities in the region, the construction of a new crossing is underway. As has been reported, a memorial complex is planned to be built on the site of the old bridge. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the liberation of the Kyiv Oblast from the russian occupiers.
Repairs were completed in 16 apartment buildings that were damaged as a result of hostilities on Vodoprovidna Street in Bucha. There, windows were replaced, roofs repaired, ceilings renovated, and attics insulated. The works were carried out with the funds of the state subvention.
Repair work in the region continues. To date, more than 5,700 buildings and structures have been fully restored in the Kyiv Oblast, and almost 3,500 have been partially restored.
Chernihiv Oblast
Today, ammunition was destroyed by detonation near Shestovytsia.
The other day, the parents of Maksym Yelfimov, a border guard from the Sumy Oblast, who was killed in action defending Chernihiv, were presented with a state award – the Order “For Courage”, Class 3.
Today, in Pryluky, they said goodbye to two soldiers – Oleksandr Kovalivskyi and Dmytro Kyriakhno. Both served in the same military unit and died on the same day in the Donetsk Oblast.
Sumy Oblast
Yesterday, the Russian military carried out 27 strikes on the border communities of the Sumy Oblast. The Bilopillia community was hit 20 times with mortars. Also, the territory of the Esman community was shelled 7 times with mortars.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
The enemy continues to terrorize the civilian population of the Kharkiv Oblast in the border settlements of Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv Raions.
Last day, the occupiers shelled Vovchansk, Kupiansk, Strilecha, Vilcha, Ohirtseve and other settlements with tube and rocket artillery, tanks and mortars.
Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion, suffered the most from the shelling. This morning, an enemy shell hit a private house. A 60-year-old woman was killed. A 45-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl were wounded and hospitalized.
Also, a 71-year-old man was wounded in Vovchansk yesterday. He was hospitalized in moderate condition.
Yesterday, a 27-year-old civilian was also wounded in the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk Raion His condition is moderate.
The work of the network of medical institutions is being resumed in the oblast. In Izium, the raion hospital has resumed operations. Primary care is provided there.
In Balaklia, the hospital has fully resumed operations. Almost all the doctors who worked there before the invasion have returned to their work.
Donetsk Oblast
Over the past day, the russian army has carried out 28 attacks on the Donetsk Oblast, shelling 13 settlements.
As a result of the shelling, 20 residential buildings, a school, kindergartens, a dispensary, an outpatient clinic, shops, a trade pavilion, heating networks, a gas pipeline, an outbuilding, cars, and the highway were destroyed or damaged.
On January 20, it became known about 3 residents of the Donetsk Oblast killed by russians: 2 in Bakhmut and 1 in Zhelanne. Another 4 people were wounded in the oblast.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the russians have killed 1,316 civilians in the Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 2870. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
In the de-occupied settlements of Donetsk region, three people hit russian mines, two of them died. The police urge residents not to go to the forest belts, the areas where active hostilities took place, etc., because the demining of the territories is still ongoing.
Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the Novoselivske, Ploshchanka and Chervonopopivka settlements in the Luhansk Oblast, and Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Vasiukivka, Krasna Hora, Yahidne, Bakhmut, Predtechyne, Vodiane, and Maryinka in the Donetsk Oblast.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Bakhmut sector, Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Pivnichne, Zalizne, Kurdiumivka, and Maiorsk in the Donetsk region came under shelling.
In the Horlivka sector in Bakhmut, russians hit a high-rise building, killing 2 people and wounding 3 more. In New York, 3 houses were damaged. Kostyantynivka was hit by 2 missiles – a kindergarten and a college were damaged. Constant shelling continues in Paraskoviivka of the Soledar community.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
In the Lysychansk sector, a multi-storey building in Lyman and 3 private houses in Drobysheve were damaged. The shelling of Torske and Zarichne, as well as Siversk continues; no casualties have been reported.
South oblasts
Odesa Oblast
The number of russian missile carriers in the Black Sea has decreased. Currently there are five of them on combat duty. The number of missiles that are kept in readiness also decreased to 36.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Yesterday the russians have carried out 166 shelling of cities and towns in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
113 strikes were carried out on the territory of the Pology and Vasylivka raions.
In Huliaipole and Orikhiv, civilian houses, yards, and farm buildings were damaged. The corpse of the 76-year-old owner of the house was discovered under the rubble of the destroyed house. Also, a 35-year-old resident of Yurkivka was hospitalized with injuries to his lower limbs. The man received injuries after coming under enemy fire.
As a result of shelling, the premises of the cinema burned down in Orikhiv, and two civilians were injured.
The enemy continues active artillery fire along the front line.
The russians do not let people go trying to leave the temporarily occupied territories. Evacuation of the civilian population to the territory controlled by Ukraine is temporarily impossible.
In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the ecological disaster is gaining momentum. The Kakhovka reservoir is getting shoal every day.
Mykolaiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy carried out artillery strikes on the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.
In Mykolaiv, Pervomaiske, Voznesensk and Bashtanska raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.
In the villages of Lymany and Lupareve of the Halytsyne community, not a single surviving house remained after six months of shelling. Through the efforts of the community and volunteers, people begin to repair and rebuild their homes.
Kherson Oblast
The russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 36 times last night with multiple rocket launchers, mortars and artillery. Two people were injured. Two more were injured when they were blown up by a mine.
In the Beryslav Raion near the village of Novodmytrivka, a person was blown up by a mine and was injured. Two more people, including a 16-year-old boy, were detonated by a mine near the village of Novopetrivka. Both are wounded.
Hospitals in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast are full of wounded soldiers of the russian federation.
The russian occupiers have replaced all the doctors in the Nyzhni Syrohozy central hospital and now treat only the personnel of the russian army. Kalanchak has a similar situation. Locals were also forbidden to come to the hospital there.
Over the past day, the police of the Kherson Oblast opened 30 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the military of the russian federation in the Kherson Oblast.
In Genichesk, activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement distribute materials aimed at boycotting the illegal passporting carried out by the russian occupiers. Explanatory leaflets appear daily on the streets of the city.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
The russians have hit the Nikopol and the Marganets community three times with heavy artillery and MLRS. In general, as a result of shelling, one farm building was destroyed. Two russian reconnaissance drones were shot down over the Kryvyi Rih Raion.
Artem Shliakhtych, an officer of the 17th tank brigade from Kryvyi Rih, and Yuriy Korotov from Dnipro died in the battles for Soledar. Artem Zbaransky, a native of Kryvyi Rih, died in the war with the russians. He was a talented IT specialist and worked as a developer with Incode Group. 48-year-old air reconnaissance sergeant Serhiy Zakrzhevsky from Dnipro, 59-year-old soldier from Nikopol Viktor Varenykov, 53-year-old chief sergeant Vasyl Garo from Kamianske also died. Two fallen soldiers, Oleksandr Romaniuk and Hennadiy Havriushchenko from the Synelnykove Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were awarded the 3rd grade Order of Courage.
More than 50 double-glazed windows have already been installed in a house in Dnipro that was hit by rocket fire. All works are free for residents. The expenses are done by the city budget. It is carried out in the part of the house where work is technically allowed.
Dnipro is consolidating its efforts with all those who want to support the residents of the 118 Peremohy Street, whose house was hit by a russian anti-ship missile Kh-22. Law enforcement officers detained two collaborators in Kryvyi Rih. A festival of businesses relocated from temporarily occupied territories was held in Dnipro. Entrepreneurs from Mariupol, Lysychansk, Kramatorsk and Donetsk who relocated their business to Dnipro took part. Kirovohrad Oblast

Poltava Oblast
Poltava Oblast held solemn farewells to Ukrainian Heroes. Yurii Dziuba served in the 4th separate tank brigade as a rifleman. The 48-year-old soldier died on January 5 in Soledar. He was buried in Kremenchuk.
Andrii Kozhemiak from Poltava was an electrician. The 21-year-old man has been serving his military service since 2020. He was a junior sergeant and a commander of the marine infantry unit. Andrii Kozhemiak heroically fought against the russian invaders in the hottest spots of eastern Ukraine. On January 13, a soldier died near Krasnohorivka (Donetsk Oblast).
Vadym Panov was originally from Luhansk Oblast, and lived in Pyshnenky (Zinkiv community, Poltava Oblast). In the first days of the full-scale war, the man signed up for the local Territorial Defense unit. In March 2022, he was drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was considered missing for more than 4 months. It is known that he fought his last battle near Bakhmut.
Mykola Rybalko was from Zavodske. A military man died on January 15 from wounds received as a result of artillery shelling near Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast).
Oleksandr Tutko served as a combat medic. A soldier died near Vodiane (Donetsk Oblast) on January 17 as a result of mortar shelling. Oleksandr was from Lohvytsa, he was 37 years old.
The commander of the Territorial Defense company stationed in the Poltava Oblast died in the hospital. For two days, doctors in Dnipro fought for the life of Captain Stanislav Barylo, who received shrapnel mine-explosive wounds near Soledar. Stanislav Barylo commanded the 1st rifle company of the 116th separate territorial defense brigade.
The Poltava State Bureau of Investigation exposed a traitor from Izium who helped the russian invaders. A former employee of the tax service of Izium cooperated with the enemy before the deoccupation of the city. She organized filtering activities and carried out the instructions of the russians.
13-year-old Oleksii Kozin from Poltava collected 111 thousand hryvnias for a drone for paratroopers. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the student started running his own Telegram channel, which already has 20,000 subscribers. There, the boy publishes information about explosions throughout Ukraine. This is not the first time Oleksii has organized a fundraiser for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the summer, the schoolboy handed over bulletproof vests and walkie-talkies to soldiers at the front. During the last fundraiser, which Oleksii opened at the beginning of autumn, funds were collected for the Mavic 3 drone. It was possible to accumulate a larger amount than was needed for the purchase. At the request of the military, the volunteer bought more power banks for them.

Kamianets-Podilskyi
A delegation from Bavaria (Germany) visited Kamianets and brought another batch of aid. Benefactors handed over a special fire engine with various equipment to rescue services of the community. An ultrasound machine, washing and drying machines, medicines and dressing materials were handed over to the emergency department of the city hospital, where Ukrainian soldiers are recovering. The training and rehabilitation center received a multifunctional bed for rehabilitation, gifts and warm things for children, tied by the hands of caring Bavarians.
Ukrainian dairy farms have the opportunity to receive modern energy-saving equipment free of charge from the Government and caring companies of the Netherlands.
The National Nature Park “Podilski Tovtry” transferred the monetary aid to the account of the military unit stationed in the community. These funds were collected as part of a charity exhibition-competition of creative children’s works.
Rivne Oblast
In the Antonivka community (Varash Raion), military serviceman Sviatoslav Harbar, who died while performing a combat mission near the city of Bakhmut, was solemnly buried.

Chernivtsi Oblast
Bukovyna held a solemn farewell to servicemen who died a brave death for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. Chief Sergeant Serhii Herasymiuk and soldier Ivan Danskyi were buried on the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery of Chernivtsi.
Residents of the Sokyriany community are continuously making camouflage nets, “burzhuikas” [metal stove for heating and cooking], trench candles and goodies for Ukrainian soldiers. The volunteer center was organized at the Lomachyntsi gymnasium. The staff of the educational institution, together with other residents, weave protective nets and make trench candles. Local craftsmen create field stoves so that Ukrainian soldiers do not freeze on the front lines. Now people have started collecting funds for the purchase of camouflage raincoats for the defenders.
Pupils, parents and teachers of the Serbychany gymnasium also continue their volunteer activities. They bought 15 kilograms of paraffin to make trench candles, 200 meters of base for camouflage nets and half a hundred plastic buckets to pack goodies for the military. Half a hundred trench candles were also made by the teaching staff of the Korman educational complex. All these things are regularly taken to the front lines by local volunteers.
The Chernivtsi Regional Universal Scientific lLbrary named after Mykhailo Ivasiuk handed over 500 books to the military. They were sent to the front line and to military hospitals.
The exhibition of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade “Portal to war/on the line of fire” is ongoing in the Cultural and artistic center named after Ivan Mykolaichuk.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Music art therapy classes were organized for children from the Tiahynka community (Kherson Oblast), who are staying in Irshava this winter vacation. British composer Nigel Osborne conducts them according to the author’s method, which has been in use for over 30 years.
19 photographs were presented at the opening of the “Portraits of War” exhibition at the Zakarpattia Museum of Folk Architecture and Life on January 21. The author of the exhibits is Vera Miniailova, an IDP from the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, who has been engaged in photography for several years. The photo shows people living in a local shelter. All models are exclusively internally displaced persons.
