Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
In the morning, air defense forces destroyed almost two dozen air targets over Kyiv.
In the Pecherskyi district, a non-residential building was hit. Also, a building and cars were on fire in Sviatoshynskyi district. Here, an undetonated warhead of a missile was found in one of the apartments. In the Solomyanskyi district, the windows of an apartment building were shattered by the blast wave.
As of 4:00 p.m., 22 people were injured as a result of the rocket attack in Kyiv, 13 of them were hospitalized, including three children. One woman was resuscitated. She is in serious condition in the intensive care unit, but alive.
An unexploded warhead of a rocket was found in an apartment of a residential building in Sviatoshynskyi district. People are being evacuated.
In Kyiv, traffic was blocked on a number of streets in connection with the liquidation of the consequences of the rocket attack.
Kyiv Oblast
The region repelled another massive enemy attack. The region was attacked by rockets this morning. It is known about three victims and the fall of fragments of rockets. In several communities, 3 high-rise buildings, private houses and commercial buildings, 10 cars, a cafe were damaged, rescuers extinguished a fire in a parking lot near one of the residential complexes.
Zhytomyr Oblast
A resident of one of the villages of the Zvyagel raion was suspected by the SSU for justifying the russian war against Ukraine and reposting anti-Ukrainian fakes. The man glorified the russian army in his “classmates” and took comfort in the death of Ukrainian soldiers.
Chernihiv Oblast
During the day of January 22, russian troops shelled Semenivka community in Chernihiv Oblast. Border guards recorded 38 explosions.
Sumy Oblast
During the day of January 22, the russian army shelled Sumy Oblast 40 times, 186 explosions were recorded. Eight communities were hit.
On January 23, the russian army shelled the communities of Seredino-Buda and Znob-Novgorodske in Sumy Oblast. 5 explosions were recorded.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
The occupiers hit a residential high-rise building in the Kharkiv district of Kyiv. One of the rockets hit a gas pipeline. 112 apartment buildings and six private houses in Kyiv and Saltivka raion of Kharkiv were damaged. As of now, six people are known to have died, 57 people, including four children, were injured. 27 people were rescued from the rubble.
At seven in the morning, the russians struck the same locations in Kharkiv that they struck at four in the morning. As a result of a repeated rocket strike, a private residential building in the Kharkiv district of Kyiv was almost completely destroyed. The person who was in it was torn apart.
Two people were injured as a result of a rocket attack on Balaklia. The city was hit by a rocket around 03:30, a civil infrastructure object, an apartment building and private houses were damaged.
At around 09:00, the russians struck Kozacha Lopan — destroyed shops, damaged a residential building. People were not injured.
Donetsk Oblast
On January 22, the russian military shelled eight populated areas of Donetsk Oblast with Iskanders, S-300s, Grads, artillery, and drones 18 times. Houses, a kindergarten, a store, an administrative building, 55 cars, a livestock complex, etc., were damaged due to shelling.
On January 22, two residents of Kramatorsk and Kurakhivka were killed in the shelling of the russian military in Donetsk Oblast. Three people were also injured.
During the past day, the russian military fired 720 times in the Lyman-Kupiansk direction and 552 times in the Bakhmut direction. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 58 russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Shakhtarske and Maryinka areas during January 22. The russian military carried out the most attacks in the Maryinka and Avdiyivka directions.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
Russia fired an Iskander missile at Kramatorsk. One civilian was killed and two were injured. Two private houses, an administrative building, a garage cooperative, and cars were damaged.
A resident of Kostiantynivka is suspected of high treason for trying to reveal and pass on to the occupiers the locations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and heavy weapons near Bakhmut. She faces life imprisonment.
Educational centers will be set up in the shelters of Sloviansk schools and kindergartens, where children will be able to study, do their homework, and spend their free time.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
Occupants shelled Kurakhivka, killing a man. 11 private houses and an enterprise were damaged.
In Myrnohrad, two people were injured as a result of two S-300 missiles. Eight apartment buildings, a shop, an educational institution, and 50 civilian cars were damaged.
The enemy also shelled Hrodivka, damaging a livestock complex and a grain warehouse.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
One person was wounded as a result of russian shelling in Siversk.
Luhansk Oblast
In Makiivka, Luhansk Oblast, a 43-year-old local resident was killed by russian artillery shelling on January 22.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
During the day, russian troops attacked Chornomorsk, Kutsurub, and Ochakiv communities in Mykolaiv Oblast. There is a wounded man who is being treated. Also, as a result of the fall of the wreckage of a downed X-59 guided missile in Mykolaiv Oblast, a roof fire started on an unused building.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
147 attacks: russia-backed militants shelled 25 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. In particular, they attacked Novodarivka twice, used 36 drones and fired artillery 109 times at other settlements. There were 7 reports of residential buildings being destroyed. There were no casualties.
Ten russian FPV drones were destroyed by border guards during a massive attack by the russian army in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
Odesa Oblast
The russian army has deployed an additional missile carrier to the Black Sea. The total volley of “Kalibr” is up to 20 missiles.
Valerii Lukashov, a utility worker from Odesa, received the medal “For Saved Life” from the President of Ukraine. On December 29, 2023, after a russian missile hit a three-story building, the man helped the residents of the house: he began to evacuate children whom their parents passed to him through the windows and later helped rescuers unblock the exit from the basement.
In the village of Oleksandrivka in Odesa Oblast, the faithful of the Holy Dormition parish have joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The decision to leave the moscow patriarchate was made by the religious community together with the rector.
Kherson Oblast
One person died and two others were wounded in the shelling of Kherson Oblast. The russian army fired 91 times at the region’s settlements over the last day. They hit residential areas.
During the day, russian troops dropped 15 guided aerial bombs on Kachkarivka, Republicanets, Mylove, Tiahyntsi, Beryslav, Zmiivka, and Chervonyi Mayak in Kherson Oblast. A man was injured in a village in Beryslav Raion. In the Mylivka community, a private enterprise’s outbuilding was hit.
The russian army shelled the central district of Kherson. A 52-year-old man was wounded. He was hospitalized with explosive and craniocerebral injuries, contusion, and eye injuries.
Five police officers were wounded in yesterday’s shelling in Kherson Oblast. Two of them were wounded during a drone attack in Beryslav, they sustained gunshot shrapnel wounds. Three more were injured during a russian drone attack on Shliakhove, all of them sustained contusions.
At night, russian troops attacked Beryslav in Kherson Oblast from the air. They dropped an unexploded ordnance on a store, the building was destroyed. There were no injuries among the locals.
The russian army once again attacked the Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A 70-year-old man was killed near the entrance of a house. Also, a 74-year-old woman was wounded as a result of russian strikes on Kindiyka, and medics arrived to provide her with medical assistance.
Today, the russian army dropped a munition from a drone on rescuers fighting a fire in Kherson Oblast. The commander of the SES department was wounded and is in hospital. A tanker truck was also damaged.
Five mobile shelters have been installed in the Novovorontsov community in Kherson Oblast, provided by the Kherson Oblast Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian troops attacked the Nikopol Raion on the night of January 23 with two kamikaze drones and twice with artillery. The city of Nikopol and the Myrove community were hit. A car wash was damaged. There were no dead or injured.
Previously, one person died as a result of a massive missile attack by the russian army on Pavlohrad. There are wounded. Infrastructure, two schools and eight high-rise buildings were damaged.
The Kh-59 guided air missile was destroyed in the morning of January 23 in the Pavlohrad Raion.
Kirovohrad Oblast
From the budget of the Oleksandrivka settlement council, the Kropyvnytskyi Raion, the permanent commission on social support for the participants of the Anti-terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation, their family members, the families of the fallen participants of the ATO/JFO, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, and volunteer participants allocated UAH 355,000.
In the town of Pomichna, the Novoukrainka Raion, volunteer centers were set up in cultural institutions. Four volunteer hubs were launched at once. Here they weave nets, sew warm clothes, dry vitamin teas and prepare delicacies. The team includes members of the military, caring locals and IDPs.
Cherkasy Oblast
In Smila, windows are being installed in houses that were damaged by an explosion from a russian missile. Almost 500 double-glazed windows were financed by a charitable organization. As of January 22, 200 double-glazed windows were installed.
Poltava Oblast
The President presented housing certificates to the Heroes of Ukraine and the families of fallen Heroes from the Poltava Oblast. In total, they received 30 housing certificates from the President.
A combat medic from the Poltava Oblast was awarded the Order “For Courage”. Artem Kyryliuk served in the Donetsk Oblast after the start of the full-scale invasion. He was a combat medic in the 25th Separate Sicheslav airborne brigade. The soldier was wounded at the front and was being treated. Later, he was dismissed from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The names of the combat medic who fell in Mariupol and the shooter who died near Avdiivka were immortalized in the names of streets in the Poltava Oblast. Recently, 33 streets were renamed in the Kotelva community. Two of them bear the names of the deceased Olha Taran and Serhii Starodub.
Vinnytsia Oblast
Almost UAH 200,000 for drones, thermal imagers, walkie-talkies for the 95th for the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, was collected by 13-year-old Oleksandr Formaniuk from Murafa. His brother serves in this brigade. In order to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the boy teamed up with his friends: together they set up an improvised checkpoint in the village, where they stopped cars and asked the drivers to help with donations.
Western Oblasts
Rivne Oblast
The eco inspection estimated that the damage to the ecosystem of the Rivne Oblast during the period of the full-scale invasion exceeded UAH 750 million. In 2022, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources launched the “EcoZagroza” mobile application, where you can report violations of environmental legislation. 11 such appeals were received from residents of the Rivne Oblast.
Volyn Oblast
First Lady of Poland Agatha Kornhauser-Duda handed over humanitarian aid to the city of Lutsk. We are talking about thermal equipment and chargers. The city council will transfer the received aid to servicemen of the 100th Separate Territorial Defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 14th Separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Roman the Great.
Chernivtsi Oblast
A mobile dental surgery for the military was equipped in Chernivtsi. A bus with a team of doctors will go to the frontline areas to treat defenders free of charge.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Volunteers of the Zakarpattia military support movement announced a campaign to collect funds for the needs of the formations – for the repair of cars and drones.
The Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital received humanitarian aid worth over UAH 5 million. This became possible thanks to cooperation with the American Romulus T. Weatherman Foundation and its Ukrainian partner NGO “Dream and Action”.
