The Ukraine-EU summit is starting today in Kyiv. For the first time in history, the summit between the EU and a candidate country for accession is taking place in a time of war. Experts see an important symbolism in the fact that the entire leadership of the European Union came to Kyiv. According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this summit is a strong symbol of the fact that we will overcome any obstacles to strengthen our partnership and integration. Ukraine’s goal is to start negotiations on membership in the European Union.
President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited the Kyiv branch of Ukrposhta to see how Ukrainians exchange old light bulbs for energy-saving ones.
Kyiv Oblast
Today, explosive ordnance disposal was carried out in the Vyshhorod Raion.
A tractor driver hit an anti-tank mine in Makariv. As a result of the explosion, the vehicle was seriously damaged. The tractor driver survived and avoided serious injuries. This area was previously in the zone where the fighting took place.

Observers reported six hits in the area of the village of Hremiach, four explosions near the village of Mykolaivka, and 12 hits in the area of the village of Tymonovychi.
Today, russians shelled the communities of Horodnia and Semenivka. The military reported about 22 hits in the area of the village of Senkivka and 24 hits in the area of Yanzhulivka.
In the Chernihiv Oblast, they said goodbye to four soldiers who fell in the East of Ukraine: Oleksandr Silkin, Bohdan Bondar, Mykola Ivashchenko, and Ruslan Bronskyi.
Sumy Oblast
Yesterday, russians shelled 4 border communities in the Sumy Oblast: Esman, Bilopillia, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda. The russian army dropped 4 mines on the territory of one village of the Seredyna-Buda community. Three private houses and a power line were partially destroyed. A total of 120 hits were recorded.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Today, around 4:30 a.m., the enemy shelled the town of Barvinkove, Izium Raion. Two brothers aged 49 and 42 were killed as a result of a hit to a private house. Their 70-year-old father was wounded and later hospitalized.
Over the past day, the enemy continued massive shelling of the civilian population of Vovchansk, Kupiansk, Dvorichna and other settlements of the Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, and Kharkiv raions.
The fire was mainly in a private residential building. Many houses were damaged or destroyed. Several fires broke out.
A 51-year-old woman was injured in Vovchansk. She received the necessary medical care on the spot.
Mine clearance in the oblast continues. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 29 explosive devices.
Donetsk Oblast
The enemy does not stop its offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka sectors.
Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces have repelled attacks by occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Verkhniokamianske, Mykolaivka, Krasna Hora, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk Oblast.
Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,343 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 2,969. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, 2 attacks on Kurakhove, chaotic shelling of Avdiivka and sporadic shelling of the Maryinka community were registered. There were no reports of casualties.
On February 3, 2023, the russian armed forces bombarded Pokrovsk with Uragan multiple rocket launchers and high-explosive fragmentation cluster munition. As a result, more than 30 private houses and buildings were damaged. Power lines, civilian vehicles and other facilities were also ruined.
As part of the cooperation between the city authorities and the Power of Man NGO, a 750 kW generator will be transferred to the Pokrovsk community from the Union of Ukrainians in France. Previously, the latter provided lighting for a local highway in France. Now it will provide lighting for the community’s residents.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the direction of Bakhmut, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Vesele, Bakhmut and Ivanivske of the Donetsk Oblast were affected by fire.
One person died in the Horlivka direction and two were injured in Bakhmut. A high-rise building, a private house and a shop were damaged in the city. A tense situation remains in the Soledar community: Paraskoviivka, Rozdolivka, and Vasiukivka are under fire. There are no casualties.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion
In the Volnovakha direction, under constant shelling are the settlements of Vuhledar and Novoukrainka. There are without casualties.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
The day before in the afternoon, the russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk. Six people were wounded, 18 high-rise buildings, two medical facilities and a school were damaged.
The search and rescue operation at the ruins of the house in Kramatorsk, which was destroyed by the russians the day before yesterday, has ended. The body of a dead woman was found under the rubble.
Thus, the number of victims of the russian attack on Kramatorsk increased to four dead and 18 wounded. Two people were successfully rescued from the rubble. It is important to remember that on the night of February 1, the russians hit the city with an “Iskander” missile, and the next day they struck two more strikes with S-300 missile systems.
Mariupol
The occupiers in Mariupol destroy the anti-violence mural. The mural was painted by artist Oleksandr Korban in 2020 on the wall of a high-rise building at 107 Myru Avenue. It is a part of the overall ensemble of Svobody Square. As well as the Milan mural, which the russians destroyed before that. The mural depicts a woman with a confident look into the future, an open cage in her hands and a bird as a symbol of freedom, peace and the right to be happy. The prototype of the depicted heroine was Zoia from Mariupol, who lived in a shelter for victims of violence. The woman was able to rehabilitate and start a new life.
In occupied Mariupol, residents hang clothes for the needy. People are still freezing and not everyone has the opportunity to buy warm things.
Southern oblasts
Odesa Oblast
In the Black Sea, the number of russian missile carriers on combat duty has increased to two, reported the Operational Command South ( “Pivden”). The total volley can be 16 Caliber missiles.
Distribution cabinets with WiFi have been installed in Odesa, which will distribute free Internet to residents in conditions of temporary lack of electricity supply.
Mykolaiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy shelled the populated area of the Ochakiv community with multiple rocket launchers. As a result, the residential building was damaged. There are no casualties.
Also yesterday, the enemy struck the Kutsurub community with barrel artillery. There were no damages or injuries.
In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanska raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.
Kherson Oblast
Yesterday, the energy infrastructure of Kharkiv, Kherson, Sumy, Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk oblasts came under massive shelling. The situation after shelling in the Kherson Oblast is particularly difficult.
As of the evening, the russian army has shelled Kherson 18 times. One person died, one was injured. Apartments and private houses were damaged.
At night, one of the russian shells also hit the building of the State Archives nearby. The windows in the room were broken, the roof was damaged and the facade of the building was broken. Work on liquidation of the consequences continues. Employees and funds were not injured.
A resident of the Kherson Oblast, who headed the occupation “police” of the Chaplynka Raion, will be tried for treason. He helped capture the police building and participated in the illegal detention of residents of the Oblast.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Oleksandr Tokarev, a 39-year-old soldier, died near Bakhmut, he was an immigrant from the Luhansk Oblast. The fallen defender is survived by his wife and a minor son. 31-year-old Maksym Saiko and 44-year-old Vadym Pereklad from the “Arey” battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army also died at the front. 49-year-old Sergeant Anatoly Bezverkhy from Zhovti Vody, who had been defending Ukraine in Donbas since 2014, died in the battle. He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter and a mother. Vadym Vovk from the Piatykhatky community died in the Donetsk Oblast. The soldier is survived by his parents and a sister. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 215 civilians have died in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The regional government will allocate 300,000 hryvnias to the families of each deceased person.
Deputies of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council allocated UAH 97 million to help victims of a missile attack on a residential building in Dnipro on January 14. At that time, 46 people died and 80 people were injured.
The Kamianske Mayor’s Office and volunteers of the “Bee” public organization brought a generator and office equipment for Ukrainian tankers to the front. The deputies of the city council gave the soldiers food, goodies, as well as trench candles.
Nikopol received humanitarian aid from “Proliska”, which was delivered to the city under the UN program. These construction kits will be provided to the people of Nikopol whose homes were damaged during the shelling. And also these are blankets, pillows, mattresses, flashlights, thermoses, sets of dishes, bed linen, towels, clothes and hygiene kits for displaced persons living in Nikopol.
Kirovohrad Oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, the sewing industry produced 400 sleeping systems for soldiers, guided by the recommendations of the military, technologists and mountaineers. The system was tested in field conditions and received approval from the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The estimated cost of the sleeping system is almost five thousand hryvnias. Military personnel receive them for free.
One and a half hundred trophies from the battlefield are stored in the public space “Krop:hub” in Kropyvnytskyi. These are the remains of ammunition, clothing, dry rations, parts from drones and helicopters. These things are transferred to the public space by the Ukrainian military from the front line. It is planned to make an open-air museum so that everyone can see the collected trophies.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Kamianets-Podilskyi
The forum “Unification for Action. Integration of IDPs in Khmelnytskyi Oblast” was held in Kamianets-Podilskyi. It was organized by the Khmelnytskyi City Council, the “Stabilization Support Services” Charitable Foundation with the support of the US State Department. It was about joint assistance to internally displaced persons, the development of city and regional plans for the integration of IDPs into the life of communities. The Kamianets-Podilskyi community was distinguished by the fact that it received the largest number of relocated enterprises and educational institutions in the Khmelnytskyi region and sheltered almost the largest number of Ukrainians from war zones.
Western Oblasts
Lviv Oblast
Assault brigades “Offensive Guard” are being formed in Lviv Oblast. They will be created on the basis of the National Police, the State Border Service and the National Guard. They will work to strengthen the defense forces and liberate the occupied territories.
In Lviv, the “Yurt of Invincibility” has started work. There people can warm up and charge their gadgets during power outages. This is the fourth yurt built in Ukraine by the Kazakh diaspora. The first one started working in Bucha.
Rivne Oblast
