Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
Today, the President of Ukraine decided to change the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine established that yesterday the russians hit Kyiv with an experimental ZM22 “Zirkon” hypersonic missile. The corresponding marking was noticed on one of the fragments. Previously, “Zirkon” was launched from Crimea. This missile is anti-ship.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko met with Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell. He showed the diplomat the consequences of yesterday morning’s russian attack on the capital. In particular, they visited a house in the Holosiivskyi district, where 8 floors burned down, four civilians from Kyiv were killed and 40 people were injured.
Zhytomyr Oblast
In Zhytomyr, veterans of the Armed Forces were taught how to start their own business. Also, military personnel and their wives were told how to write grants and conduct business activities.
Chernihiv Oblast
Yesterday, russian troops fired FPV drones and mortars at a community on the border of Chernihiv Oblast.
In Chernihiv, deputies approved a program to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth over UAH 1.5 billion and supported the idea of creating a “Veteran space” for the psychological rehabilitation and social adaptation of veterans.
Sumy Oblast
During the past day, the russian army shelled the territory of the Sumy Oblast 17 times. 154 explosions were recorded. 4 communities were shelled.
On February 8, the russian army shelled 4 more communities. 18 explosions were counted. In the Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential building, a lyceum and a gas pipeline were damaged. In Krasnopillya – a garage and a car.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
An 87-year-old man was injured as a result of shelling of Hlushkivka in the Kupyansk raion, the russians opened fire around 10:00 p.m. A farm in the village was damaged as a result of shelling. A 67-year-old resident of Kupyansk was also injured – the russians shelled the city, a private house and a gas pipe were damaged.
On February 7, 13 combat clashes took place in the Lymano-Kupiansk direction.
Donetsk Oblast
Yesterday, the russian army shelled Donetsk Oblast 14 times and damaged residential buildings, four educational institutions, an enterprise, and a parking lot.

Ukrainian soldiers repelled 79 russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka directions during February 7.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
The russian military shelled the Avdiyivka community more than 50 times during February 7 and carried out about 30 aerial bombardments. A 72-year-old woman died. More than 900 residents remain in the city.
A 74-year-old woman was wounded in Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast, as a result of shelling by russian troops on February 7.
At night, russian troops shelled Selidove in Donetsk Oblast: a woman was killed, seven people were injured, including a child. High-rise buildings, private houses, educational institutions, administrative buildings and cars were damaged.
The Ukrainian military shot down a russian Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopter. Together with the crew, he fell in the direction of Avdiyivka.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut district
Commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi visited Ukrainian soldiers in the Bakhmut raion. The russian army is trying to break through Ukrainian defenses in the area of Chasiv Yar and is storming in small groups.
Mariupol
More than 10,000 people were buried in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, from March 2022 to February 2023. At least 8,000 likely died from war-related causes. Mykolayiv Oblast
During the day, the russian army attacked Mykolaiv Oblast with artillery and drones. Shelling was recorded in Ochakiv and Kutsurubcommunities and the Oblast center. There are no injuries or deaths.
In addition, air defense forces destroyed three “Shahed 131/136” type attack drones over Mykolayiv Oblast.
On the night of February 8, russian troops attacked the civilian infrastructure of Mykolayiv. More than 20 residential buildings, an industrial facility and a sports complex were damaged. There were no casualties.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
176 strikes were carried out by the russian army on 20 towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast during the day, February 7. In particular, it attacked Orikhiv and Novodarivka from aviation, and used drones and artillery in other settlements.
Odesa Oblast
In Odesa, an unfinished high-rise building and an educational institution were damaged as a result of a drone attack. Two patrol officers who were on their way to the scene of the shooting to provide assistance to people were injured. They received mine-explosive injuries during the second explosion.
During the night attack of the russian Air Defense Forces, five drones were shot down over Odesa.
In the Black Sea, despite the storm, the russian army took the frigate “Admiral Makarov”. It has eight Kalibr-type missiles at the ready, the level of missile danger has been significantly increased.
Kherson Oblast
Yesterday, russian troops shelled the Kherson Oblast 60 times. 233 shells were fired from artillery, mortars, anti-aircraft guns, tanks, UAVs and aviation. Three people were injured.
The russian army attacked Romashkove in the Kherson Oblast. A 58-year-old man was hit in the yard of the house. He was hospitalized with an explosive injury.

Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian troops shelled the Myrove community in the Nikopol Raion several times with artillery on the night of February 8. No one was killed or injured.
The air defense forces shot down a missile over the Kryvyi Rih Raion.
Vinnytsia Oblast
The air defense forces destroyed two kamikaze drones in the Vinnytsia Oblast. Their wreckage caused a fire at an infrastructure facility: the fire was localized, and no one was injured.
Vinnytsia ranked first among Ukrainian oblast centers according to the amount of funds allocated from the budget to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2024 (in percentage terms). Specifically, the city allocated 9.8% of the city budget for this purpose.
Western oblasts
Lviv Oblast
In the Lviv Oblast, bomb disposal experts neutralized a missile warhead that fell in a field 400 meters away from the houses in a village in the Stryi Raion. The warhead did not detonate. A crater formed at the site after the experts finished their work.
Ternopil Oblast
In the Ternopil Oblast, the year 2024 was declared the year of Stepan Bandera’s family. This decision was made by the deputies of the Oblast Council during one of their sessions.
Zakarpattia Oblast
To mark the second year since the bombing of the Mariupol theater, the companies of the Donetsk and Zakarpattia theaters will present two performances and organize a commemorative event. One of the theatrical productions, Mariupol Drama, features actors telling their stories of life in the theater during the shelling and the bombing.
