Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Stars of the Hero of Ukraine to the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny and the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov.

Another exchange of prisoners took place: Ukraine returned 100 people from russian captivity.

A bipartisan delegation of the US Congress, led by the chairman of the intelligence committee, Mike Turner, arrived in Kyiv.

Kyiv Oblast

In the Kyiv Oblast, the warhead of a russian cruise missile that did not detonate after being shot down by air defense forces was destroyed. Debris of the rocket fell on the territory of a private yard. Explosive technicians took the remains of the rocket to the detonation site for disposal.

Chernihiv Oblast

Yesterday, russian troops shelled the Semenivka community in the bordering Chernihiv Oblast. They used unmanned aerial vehicles, mortars and barrel artillery.

Sumy Oblast

On the night of February 9, the russian army struck four communities in the Sumy Oblast. 53 explosions were recorded.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Donetsk Oblast

On February 8, russian troops shelled five settlements in the Donetsk Oblast 13 times. The shelling damaged 112 civilian structures over the past day.

Two people were killed in Selydove and Avdiivka as a result of the shelling by the russian military on February 8. Also, seven residents were wounded in Selydove.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Avdiivka suffered two air strikes over the past day.

Russian troops are trying to besiege Avdiivka from the south and north, entering the outskirts of the city. The defense forces do not let them advance. As of today, about 935 residents remain in the city.

On February 8, Ukrainian forces repelled 50 russian attacks at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Maryinka sectors.

Police officers near Avdiivka, who came to evacuate the area, detained a russian soldier who had gotten lost. He turned out to be a native of Tatarstan who was imprisoned in russia and later came to fight in Ukraine. He fought in the “Storm-Z” penal unit near Avdiivka.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On February 8, russian troops attacked three times presumably with Lancet drones. The village of Dmytrivka in the Kutsurub community came under fire. An ambulance was damaged and a doctor was wounded.

On the night of February 9, the russian army hit the village of Oleksandrivka in the Orikhiv community with attack drones.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian army conducted 156 attacks on towns and villages in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast on February 8. In particular, it attacked Orikhiv and Novodarivka with aircraft, and used drones, artillery and MLRS to target other settlements. Two people were wounded in Stepnohirsk and Huliaipole.

At night in the Kherson Oblast in Komyshany, a russian projectile hit a gas pipeline near a house. Also, as a result of russian shelling, two non-residential buildings burned in Antonivka, and a fire broke out in an outbuilding in Tomaryne. All fires were extinguished. Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

Polish farmers started a strike at the checkpoints “Shegyni-Medyka”, “Grebenne-Rava-Ruska” and “Dorogusk-Yagodyn”. The protest will last at least until March 10. The blockade at the “Medyka-Sheghyni” checkpoint will, in particular, apply to all categories of transport that cross the state border: trucks, cars, and buses.

Khmelnutskyi Oblast
