Kyiv
Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen arrived in Kyiv on a visit. He became the first high-ranking Israeli official to visit Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. He plans to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba. The Israeli Foreign Minister said that he would also attend the opening of the Israeli Embassy in Kyiv, which is returning to its full functioning.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko met with Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly. He showed her the consequences of the russian attacks on Kyiv, which cause destruction and deaths of civilian Ukrainians. He thanked the government and citizens of Canada for their military, financial, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. He emphasized that it is very important for us to receive a new batch of weapons, which Canada has decided to provide, as soon as possible.
The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration delivered two mobile units to the Air Defense Forces. The mobile units are designed to provide rest for the military. They are equipped not only with places for rest and work, but also with a kitchen.

Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere was greeted with words of gratitude at Irpin Lyceum No. 2. Zhytomyr Oblast
Zhytomyr said goodbye to soldier Andriy Demyanets. He was mobilized into the ranks of one of the airmobile brigades of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed in action in eastern Ukraine, repelling attacks of the russian invaders.
Yuriy Marynych from Berdychiv, who was killed last spring as a result of enemy shelling, returned home on the shield. He served in the military as a sanitary instructor. Relatives managed to bring home his body only now. Eternal glory to the Heroes.
The orchestra of the Zhytomyr 95th Airbourne Assault Brigade visited the Pulyny community with a concert to express their gratitude to the head of the community, starostas, local entrepreneurs and residents of the community for their help in difficult times for the brigade.
In Zhytomyr, lyceum students organized a flash mob on the occasion of the Day of Unity and raised funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the fair.
Chernihiv Oblast
On February 15, russians shelled the Semenivka and Novhorod-Siversk communities. Border guards counted six explosions of 120-mm mortar shells in the Semenivka community. In the Novhorod-Siversk community, border guards recorded nine explosive charges dropped by russians from a drone.
Today, Andriy Solovei, who was killed in action in the Luhansk Oblast, was escorted on his final journey in the Chernihiv Oblast.
A photo of Olha Menyailo, a resident of Yahidne, appeared on the cover of the TIME magazine. When the russian military occupied Yahidne in the Chernihiv Oblast, they herded the locals into the school basement without ventilation and kept more than 350 people there.
Sumy Oblast
On February 15, russians shelled four communities in the Sumy Oblast. The Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Nova Sloboda, and Bilopillia communities came under fire. In total, more than 30 hits from mortar were recorded, plus the dropping of an explosive device from a drone.
Today, russians also shelled the area of the village of Partyzanske of the Nova Sloboda community. 10 hits were recorded.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Today the occupiers shelled Vovchansk. As a result of air strikes, 6 people were wounded. The building of one of the enterprises and a private house were also damaged.
Over the past day, the settlements of the Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Bohodukhiv raions of the oblast came under hostile fire.
In particular, the enemy shelled Hrianykivka, Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Svitlychne and other settlements with tanks, mortars and artillery.
Also, the occupiers launched air strikes on Hraniv and Udy.
Yesterday, after the morning shelling of Kupiansk, at least 6 private houses and outbuildings were damaged. Several fires broke out.
The urban-type settlement of Dvorichna was also under enemy fire. Windows in several private houses were smashed there.
At 11 a.m., russian troops shelled the village of Svitlychne in the Zolochiv territorial community with Uragan MLRS. One household and the power grid were damaged.
After 11 a.m., the enemy shelled Vovchansk with artillery. Three private houses were damaged there.
At night, the occupiers bombarded Kupiansk again. As a result of the shelling, a hangar, garages and 5 vehicles, including two buses, burned down. The area of the fire was 700 square meters.
Donetsk Oblast
During the day, the enemy launched three missiles and 18 air strikes. In addition, 52 attacks from multiple rocket launchers were recorded. The russian occupiers fired at the civil infrastructure of the Donetsk Oblast. There are wounded and dead among the civilian population.
The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk directions, in the areas of Hrianykivka, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka, and Vuhledar.
On February 15, the russians killed six residents of the Donetsk Oblast: three in Pokrovsk, two in Bakhmut and one in Avdiivka. Another 13 people in the Oblast were injured.
Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,367 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 3,052. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of more than 15 settlements. In particular, near Fedorivka, Bakhmut, Diliivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Novosilky in the Donetsk Oblast.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, artillery shelling of Marinka and Heorhiivka was recorded.
In the morning, a massive shelling of Avdiivka took place. There was no information about the victims.
The rescue operation in Pokrovsk on the ruins of the house destroyed by the russians has been completed. Three people died, eleven were injured. Among the injured, one person is in serious condition and is taken to the hospital. As a result of the shelling, four high-rise buildings, a school, three shops, and 8 cars were damaged. The building, in which the two upper floors are completely destroyed, will be recognized as an emergency. Financial assistance in the amount of 80,000 hryvnias will be allocated to residents of this high-rise building. The families of the victims will receive 100,000 hryvnias each.
The Secret Service of Ukraine detained a resident of the city of Novohrodivka in the Pokrovsk Raion, for trying to pass the russians intelligence on the basing of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk direction. To collect information, she went around the area and later contacted a militant of the terrorist organization “DNR”. After the russian missile attacks, the attacker went to the scene and “reported” to the russian military about the results of the air attacks.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Bakhmut direction, the areas of more than 20 settlements were hit by mortar and artillery fire, including Spirne, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Fedorivka, Vasiukivka, Bilohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Ivanovske, Chasiv Yar, Stupochki, Predtechyne, and Kurdiumivka.
Southern oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past day, February 15, the russian military shelled 16 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Five reports were received about the destruction of citizens’ houses and infrastructure facilities as a result of shelling.
The sounds of explosions that could be heard in Zaporizhzhia at night were the work of the Air Defense Forces. No hits have been recorded in the city.
“Vilna” space for helping girls and women is opened in Zaporizhzhia. In the center, you can get a psychologist’s consultation or visit art therapy.
Mykolaiv Oblast
According to the information of the Operational Command “South”, on the night of February 16, a russian ship fired eight Kalibr missiles from the water area of the Black Sea. Air defense forces shot down six missiles over the Mykolaiv Oblast.
In addition, no hits were recorded on the territory of the Mykolaiv Oblast.
Odesa Oblast
On the facade of the Chornomorets stadium in Odessa, the name was changed to the Ukrainian version.
In Odesa, at the Ushinsky National Pedagogical University, for the first time in Ukraine, a student, Nataliia Orobets, was appointed to the position of a state language commissioner. The educational institution became the second in the country to introduce such a position.
Kherson Oblast
In the morning, russian troops shelled the center of Kherson and the Korabel microdistrict. There are no casualties or injuries.
Over the past day, in addition to these raions, Antonivka and Tavriysky microdistrict came under the fire of the russian occupiers. As a result of shelling, boats and garages for them were damaged.
During the day, the russian army shelled the Beryslav, Novooleksandrivka, Novoraisk, Tiahynska and Mylivka territorial communities. The buildings of an educational institution, a hospital, a shop, houses and farm buildings were damaged. Two people are injured.
On the night of February 16, the russian military once again shelled Kherson, heating networks and a boiler house in the center of the city were damaged. Employees of “Khersonteploenergo” as of 8 o’clock in the morning restored the supply of heating to ten residential buildings, all subscribers of the damaged boiler house with heat.
The russian army has shelled the territory of the Kherson community 17 times. Shells also hit a hospital in Beryslav.
In the temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka, russian soldiers are searching the private estates of local residents and stealing watercraft.
Today in Kherson, a russian projectile killed a 70-year-old woman who was on the street. The blows shattered windows and damaged apartments in a nearby high-rise building.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
At night, the russians hit Pavlograd with rockets. A 79-year-old woman died. Another eight people were injured, two of them were hospitalized. Seven private houses were destroyed. More than 60 mutilated houses.
The russians also shelled the Marganets and Myrove communities. Consequences are established.
Yuriy Yakymenko, a 34-year-old soldier from Nikopol, Kostiantyn Tymoshchuk, 25, from the Kryvyi Rih Raion, and Volodymyr Podufalov, a 51-year-old rifleman from Synelnykove, died in the war. Eternal glory to the Heroes.
At night, air defense forces shot down 5 missiles over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Another one burst in the air.
On February 16, the Dnipro City Hall sent another 12 high-capacity trucks to the front line. The trucks were bought in France. Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, handed over an ambulance to the Dnipropetrovsk Territorial Defense. The car for the military was purchased by the “From Syan to Don” charity fund.
A monument to aleksandr suvorov was dismantled in the village of Nova Dacha, Pavlohrad Raion. This russian commander was one of the founders of the russian military cause.
Poltava Oblast
On the night of February 16, the enemy attacked objects in the Poltava Oblast, but air defense protected the area. During the night mass attack, a group of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles was recorded, in particular, in the Poltava Raion. Air defense equipment was working. The enemy also fired missiles at the territory of the oblast. Two of them hit a critical infrastructure facility in Kremenchuk. There were no casualties or injuries.
Ten buildings and cars were damaged by missile shelling in the village of Rokytne of the Omelnyk community near Kremenchuk. In particular, the explosion knocked out windows and doors, and also destroyed roofs.
This morning, hackers from russia tried to hack the website of “Kremenchuk Gazeta” by using a DoS attack. The editors are currently investigating whether materials have disappeared from the site or whether fake news has appeared.
The recruitment of motivated soldiers for the “Offensive Guard” continues: in the Poltava Oblast, more than 300 volunteers want to join the “Lyut” [“Rage”] brigade.
Foresters of the Poltava Oblast delivered humanitarian aid to the front: fleece balaclavas, warm mittens and socks, anti-cold and hemostatic medicines.
The building of the former sanitary station on Mazepa Street in Poltava will become a home for internally displaced families. The German foundation announced its intention to finance the arrangement of apartments for families. Perhaps these will be 2-3 room apartments on demand, and a playground will be set up in the yard.
Kirovohrad Oblast
In the Kropyvnytskyi Raion of the Kirovohrad Oblast, the enemy hit an infrastructure facility. Containers with petroleum products were damaged. There were no casualties.
A charity event was organized in Berezhynka Lyceum “Leader” in Kropyvnytskyi Raion to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Visitors also took part in the auction, where two paintings by the military artist were exhibited, and the lottery. At the fair, people could buy a lot of goodies and beautiful things that parents and children made with their own hands. Together, more than UAH 38,600 were collected. All funds and belongings were transferred to the public organization “Hearts of Mothers and War Veterans of Kropyvnytskyi”.
Since the beginning of the war, almost half a thousand trench candles have been made by graduates of the Faculty of Specialist Training for the units of the National Police of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs. After training, cadets make trench candles that can burn for a long time.
Western Oblasts
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Khmelnytskyi received 27 diesel generators from the USA as part of the Energy Security Project. The city council signed a memorandum of cooperation with an American governmental organization a year and a half ago. Powerful mini power plants are planned to be used as backup power for shelters. This is not the first aid to the city since the beginning of a full-scale war. Other equipment from the USA is also expected in the near future.
On the occasion of the Day of Unity, the regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” in Kamianets-Podilskyi Slavko Polyatynchuk held a thematic meeting for IDPs at the volunteer center of the vocational college of culture and arts. The event called “With Ukraine in the Heart” gathered caring residents of the community and internally displaced persons.
The Central Public Library of the Khmelnytskyi community, together with the Center for National Education of Pupils, is starting the linguistic association “Speak Ukrainian”. During the classes, the organizers plan to clean the speech from “surzhyk” [a slang consisting of a combination of the Ukrainian and russian languages] and russian words.
Rivne Oblast
In the Rivne Oblast, a solemn farewell was held for three defenders – Serhii Korus from the Holovyn community, Vasyl Shyika from Rivne, and Hryhorii Shumyk from Varash. The defenders died in battles with the enemy. Eternal glory to the Heroes.
On February 17, the first “children’s point” in the oblast will be opened in Rivne. The creative, game and interactive location was created thanks to cooperation with UNICEF.
Chernivtsi Oblast
In the oblast hospital, a department was opened for the rehabilitation of soldiers after injuries, when it is necessary to restore mobility in the joints. Civilians will also be able to undergo rehabilitation in case of post-stroke conditions and joint replacement. The equipment for the department cost almost 7 million hryvnias, it was purchased with the money of the hospital and benefactors.
At the lyceum in Chernivtsi, a security class was created for over a million hryvnias. There are wound and bleeding simulators, tourniquets to stop bleeding and other medical equipment to learn first aid. Training samples of grenades, mines, grenade launchers and other weapons were also purchased. Everything is set up in the shelter.
Zakarpattia Oblast
The Union train departed from Uzhgorod to Kramatorsk. The first stop was Uzhhorod, where the exhibition “Unity for the Future” opened. On February 16 last year, the first Unity Train carried the flag of Ukraine through 12 regions from Rakhiv (Zakarpattia Oblast) to Mariupol (Donetsk Oblast). The flag was handed over to Ukrainian sailors, but its whereabouts after the start of the full-scale invasion are currently unknown.
The charity fairytale concert “Holiday for the Whole Family” was held in Uzhhorod. It was presented by the public organization “All-Ukrainian Youth Communication” and the charity foundation “Mriya” [“Dream”].
Creative young people from different parts of Ukraine were even more united by the war, because of which young people were forced to go abroad. There, they began to participate in actions and flash mobs.
