Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Today, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, where he held a briefing after the negotiations. A plaque in honor of the Prime Minister of Spain was unveiled on the Alley of Courage.

Kyiv Oblast

This morning, air defense forces shot down an enemy reconnaissance drone over Kyiv Oblast.The zone around the Chornobyl NPP became an important training ground for the Armed Forces. There, the Ukrainian military conducts training every day and guards the border in case of an invasion of russian and Belarusian troops.

For five months, 98 Polish police officers were engaged in demining in the Kyiv Oblast. Their mission was secret. They removed about two thousand explosive items and cleared one of the airports near Kyiv. The mission successfully returned to Poland.

On February 23, the Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez Pérez-Castejon visited Kyiv Oblast. In Bucha, a foreign delegation honored the memory of the fallen Ukrainians near the Church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called. In Irpin, they inspected the houses of the “Irpinski Lypy” residential complex, which suffered significant damage due to russian military aggression. During the visit, Pedro Sánchez emphasized the importance of twinning between the settlements of Kyiv Oblast and Spain and expressed the Kingdom’s support for Ukraine.

In the Portuguese city of Cascais, a plaque with the name of Irpin appeared on Pobratim Square. It already has 18 plaques dedicated to sister cities from four continents.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Zhytomyr residents said goodbye to their Hero. With the beginning of full-scale russian aggression, Ihor Polevyi stood up for the defense of Ukraine in the ranks of one of the mechanized units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Died on February 12, 2023. Bright memory of the warrior.

At the session of the Zhytomyr City Council, 25 military personnel were presented with certificates for the purchase of housing. In total, 55 soldiers will receive certificates. 100 million hryvnias were allocated for this from the local budget.

The team of paramedics, which for 10 days provided medical assistance to residents of the de-occupied Kherson Oblast, returned to Zhytomyr. The doctors said that the russian troops have stolen medical equipment there, destroyed medical facilities and periodically fire on visiting brigades of Ukrainian doctors.

Chernihiv Oblast

On the evening of February 22, russian troops fired 120-caliber mortars at the Semenivska community in Chernihiv Oblast. Border guards recorded 7 arrivals.

This morning, February 23, the russians shelled the area of Yeline settlement in Koryukiv district. Currently, we know about 9 attacks, previously with a 120 mm mortar.

Also today, the russians shelled the area of Mikhalchyna Sloboda settlement in Novhorod-Sivershchyna from self-propelled guns. About 17 arrivals were recorded. As a result of shelling, a civilian car was destroyed.

OC “Pivnich” reported that the russians may be preparing provocations for the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the russian into the territory of Ukraine. The purpose of the provocations is to accuse Ukrainian defenders of violating territorial integrity. This is evidenced by intelligence data, which recorded the movement of columns of military equipment in the area of the border with the Chernihiv Oblast without identification marks and manpower dressed in a pixel, similar to the uniform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, the military reports that the Defense Forces of the Severshchyna keep the situation under control and note that they have never resorted to provocations and do not have such a goal.

Sumy Oblast

On February 22, the russians shelled the territorial communities of Sumy Oblast: Esmansk, Bilopolsk, Yunakivsk, Krasnopilsk, Novoslobidsk, and Khotinsk. In the Khotyn community, the driver and passenger were injured as a result of hitting a civilian car. In Esmansikia, a road, an enterprise building, and two houses were damaged. There are four houses in Bilopolska.

Eastern Oblast

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy attacked industrial facilities in the Kharkiv district of Kyiv with 4 S-300 missiles. 2 civilians were lightly injured.

Over the past day, the enemy shelled at least 18 settlements in the Kupyansk , Chuguyiv, Kharkiv and Izyum raions of the Oblast.

A 40-year-old civilian man was wounded in the village of Podola, Kupyansk raion , as a result of shelling. Hospitalized in a moderate condition.

In Vovchansk, 6 residential buildings and 2 educational institutions were damaged as a result of massive shelling.

Farm buildings were damaged in Nesterne village of Vovchansk community.

As a result of shelling by the russians in the village of Cherneshchena, Izyum raion, a private residential building was destroyed, electric poles were damaged.

Demining is ongoing in the oblast. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service have neutralized 137 explosive objects.

Donetsk Oblast

More than 86,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed in the Donetsk Oblast since the start of the full-scale invasion. About seven hundred educational institutions were destroyed, among which more than 50 were completely destroyed – they cannot be repaired.

On February 22, in Donetsk Oblast, two people were injured by shelling of the russian army – in Bakhmut and Lastochkino.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian into Ukraine, 1,382 people have died in Donetsk Oblast, and 3,078 people have been injured. It is impossible to establish the exact number of dead and wounded in Volnovakha and Mariupol.

The russian focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Kupyansk , Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtar directions. Last day, Ukrainian defenders repelled about 90 enemy attacks in the indicated directions.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

The towns of Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and the villages of Karlivka, Tonenke, and Bohatyr came under enemy fire, and russians used aircraft, S-300, MLRS Grad, MLRS Urahan, artillery, and mortars against civilians.

In the east of Pokrovsk Raion, there were three attacks on Kurakhove and one on Kurakhivka, which damaged the private sector and resulted in no casualties.

In the morning, russians shelled Avdiivka twice with artillery and twice with multiple rocket launchers Grad, damaging houses and leaving one wounded.

A supporter of the aggressor state was convicted in Donetsk Oblast. From June to September 2022, he passed on data on the routes of movement of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and howitzers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Pokrovsk to members of the so-called task force of supporters of the “russian world,” including representatives of the quasi-republic, the fsb and the russian federation.

Avdiivka is subjected to massive shelling by the occupiers every day. However, more than two thousand people still live here and do not want to evacuate. Residents turn to the only medical facility in the city – Avdiivka City Central Hospital. There is one doctor and several nurses left here who continue to provide assistance not only to the population but also to the military if necessary.

Volunteers from the Lviv Volunteer Medical Battalion and the Human Rights Group “SICH” replenished the stocks of medicines that were already running low.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahidne, Maloilinivka, and Bakhmut. They are actively conducting aerial reconnaissance to adjust artillery fire. More than 20 localities were shelled, including Spirne, Vesele, Bilohorivka, Dubove-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Yahidne, Bakhmut, and Ozaryanivka in Donetsk Oblast.

In the Kostyantynivka community, 2 private houses and a multi-story building in Kostyantynivka, and an enterprise building in Ivanopillia were damaged. In the Soledar community, 2 houses in Vasyukivka and 3 in Fedorivka were damaged.

Border guards repelled two enemy attacks in Bakhmut direction. Aerial reconnaissance monitored and adjusted fire on the occupiers. The UAV operators indicated the coordinates of the enemy’s movement routes and the objects captured by them. The Ukrainian Armed Forces tankers destroyed the building where the occupiers were located. Border guards and mortar launchers fired at the enemy forces in front of the front line of the defensive positions. As a result, 20 invaders were eliminated.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In Volnovakha direction,russians launched 3 rocket attacks on Bahatyryr of the Velykonovosilkivka community at night, destroying the house.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

This morning, russians killed 1 person and wounded 1 person in Yampil of the Lyman community – 6 houses were damaged. Another 2 houses were damaged in Torske. In Pereizne of the Zvanivka territorial community, houses on three streets were damaged, and there was a loud noise in the Siverska community. 


Luhansk Oblast

Today, the frontline is relatively quiet, as the occupiers suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment after the last offensive.

The russians consider the Kreminna direction to be the main one, so they even send career soldiers there.

In Luhansk Oblast, a man hit an enemy mine near Novoselivske. As a result, he sustained blast trauma, numerous shrapnel wounds, a bruised chest, and burns.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, on February 22, the enemy fired artillery and mortar shells at the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka Raions, the day and night were relatively calm.

Kherson Oblast

On February 22, the roof of a warehouse in one of Kherson’s neighborhoods caught fire as a result of shelling by russian troops. Rescuers started extinguishing the fire several times due to repeated shelling by the russian army.

On the morning of February 23, the russian military shelled the Kherson Oblast. A 58-year-old man was killed near his home. A woman was also wounded and hospitalized. Houses, cars, a gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged. The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal investigation.

During the day, the russian military shelled Novooleksandrivka, Mylivka, Beryslav, and Tiahyne territorial communities. A kindergarten, a school, houses, and outbuildings were damaged. One person was wounded.

During the day, Kherson residents have been overcoming the consequences of shelling by the russian military. Yesterday, shells hit residential areas, bus stops, medical facilities, and garage cooperatives. These were massive attacks from multiple rocket launchers.

Russian occupiers, together with the police, have intensified checkpoints in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast and threaten to evict anyone who does not receive a russian passport by early March.

On the Kinburn Spit, the Defense Forces destroyed an MLRS, and on the left bank, a launcher of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system. An ammunition depot, two reconnaissance drones, two motor boats of a sabotage and reconnaissance group, an artillery radar system, a 120-mm mortar, and occupiers’ vehicles were destroyed near Nova Kakhovka. In the Kherson Oblast, law enforcement officers documented russian war crimes at the airport near Chornobaivka, which was seized by russians during the occupation. They deployed military equipment, stored shells, and ammunition on the territory of the airport. The occupiers intended to use the airport as a base for further offensive in other oblasts of Ukraine.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Five soldiers from Pavlohrad were killed in the war: Senior Soldier Dmytro Myrnyi, Sergeant Denys Rudenko and Senior Soldier Ihor Bandeliuk, Senior Soldier Andrii Yakymenko, and Soldier Vitalii Nesterenko. Eternal glory to the Heroes.In Marhanets, the shelling damaged power lines, which cut off power to the pumping stations of one of the water utilities. This led to the suspension of water supply to the homes of about 35,000 families. The water supply has now been restored. Three private houses, outbuildings, cars, and gas pipelines were damaged.

From 755 to 813 thousand hryvnias of assistance will be received by the owners of apartments in a building destroyed by a rocket in Kryvyi Rih. The money was allocated from the city budget. As a result of the impact, 9 apartments were completely destroyed.

Housewives from several villages of the Krynychky community in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast send tens of kilograms of food to the front every week. 8 housewives work in their team. Volunteers can cook for 500-1000 soldiers in one week. Military and other volunteers come to the hub every week. Sometimes up to 4-5 cars are packed with food per day. Everything is transferred to the boys in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Bakhmut directions.

Football fans are raffling off a t-shirt of Dnipro player Oleg Shelayev and a scarf with the symbols of the football club. The price of one bet is 100 or 200 hryvnias. All the collected funds will go towards the purchase of charging stations for fans of the Dnipro football club, who defend Ukraine as part of the third separate assault brigade.

Poltava Oblast

The housing built for displaced persons in Poltava will not be temporary, as originally planned. People whose houses have been destroyed will be settled in apartment buildings. These are immigrants from Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, and Luhansk Oblast. The construction of apartments will provide housing for more than 2,000 internally displaced persons.

In Kremenchuk, housing may soon be provided to beneficiaries: the issue will be considered at the next session. We are talking about free rooms of the housing fund, prepared for displaced persons. They are likely to be provided for Kremenchug residents of preferential categories: single mothers, orphans, doctors and teachers.

26 communities of the Oblast completed the distribution of food kits to the displaced persons living in their territories. Others are still continuing this work. In total, internally displaced persons in Poltava Oblast have already received more than 185,000 prodkits.

On February 25, Poltava will host the premiere of the plastic-mystical performance “Bude tobi, vrazhe…[Will be for you, enemy…]”. Proceeds will be transferred to the purchase of a copter with a thermal imager for the 116th brigade.

Cherkasy Oblast

23-year-old military man Volodymyr Kurchenko was said goodbye in the Chervona Sloboda community. He died on May 3, 2022 in Mariupol on «Azovstal». They led the dead Hero standing on his knees through a live corridor.

Since February 24, 2022, 29 war crimes have been recorded in Cherkasy Oblast. As a result of military aggression in the Oblast, one person died, six were injured.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

Almost one and a half dozen dental clinics of the Rivne Oblast joined the project «Give back a smile to the Hero». It was initiated by the DENTAL HELP UA charity foundation of the association of dentists. The goal of the project is to organize free tooth implantation for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volunteers from the villages of Bohdanivka, Brykiv, and the village of Korets handed over half a thousand donuts, two hundred tats, as well as meatballs, dumplings, and much more to the Ukrainian defenders. In addition, they also put socks, gloves, thermal clothing, flashlights, hygiene products, torches, raincoats and sleeping bags. There are also heart-shaped postcards made by students of grades 1-9 of the Koretsky Gymnasium in the parcels.

In the Rivne Oblast, schoolchildren organized a charity fair in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The charity fair «V yednosti nashi syla [Unity is our strength]» was organized by representatives of the student self-government of Ostroh Lyceum No. 1. Parents, children, and teachers joined the action. In total, it was possible to collect 52,526 hryvnias. Now they are deciding where to send the funds. Negotiations with volunteers are ongoing.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Bukovyna spent the last journey of the Hero who gave his life for the will of Ukraine: farewell to soldier Andrii Korenkovych took place in the village of Toraky. Eternal memory and glory to the warrior.

Pavlina Nikolayevich has served in the army for six years. In the summer, she received the President’s award, because she led her peers out of the environment. In December, she lost her brother – he died near Soledar. Now the girl is fighting under Bakhmut, with five fighters under her command.

Foreign benefactors provided assistance to displaced persons who found shelter in the Mamalyga community. Representatives of the «Soroptimist Intrenational Edineț» club from Moldova delivered tables for the food pantry, kitchen hoods, sets of dishes and other necessary items.

The exhibition «War for the Independence of Ukraine 2022» was opened in Chernivtsi. The basis of the exposition is information stands that demonstrate the heroic resistance of Ukrainians to the armed aggression of the russian federation in February-November 2022, the liberation of Ukrainian cities and the missile terror of the russian occupiers against the civilian population. It also displays military trophies. All items were discovered on the battlefields and in the liberated areas of Kyiv Oblast, as well as in the southern and eastern directions of the front.

Zakarpattia Oblast

“The 365th of February. The anniversary of the full-scale war” – this is the name of the charity meeting with the military in Mukachevo. The purpose of the event is to remember the events of the year, as well as to raise money for two drones for the military. 

Free hospital clowning courses were held in Uzhgorod for two days. They were held for those who want and can help children to bear the disease more easily.
