Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Kyiv, almost 200 people have died, including six children, and almost 209,000 internally displaced persons have been registered. About 800 residential buildings and 122 educational institutions were damaged as a result of the russian attacks.

Today, hundreds of people came to Sofia Square in Kyiv to remember the Ukrainian prisoners who are still in russian captivity. Actions will be held three days in a row in the largest cities of Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Italy George Maloney, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Belgium and Chairman of the EU Council Alexander de Croo and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv on the same train. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also arrived. They came to show their solidarity with Ukraine.

The National Bank of Ukraine introduced a new commemorative banknote “Unity saves the world”. It is devoted to the unification of the democratic world in the face of russian aggression.

Kyiv Oblast

More than 1,600 civilians, including 53 children, were killed during the two years of full-scale war in the territory of Kyiv Oblast due to hostilities.

In Bucha, Kyiv Oblast, the memory of local residents and Ukrainian soldiers who died during the russian invasion was commemorated. Locals laid flowers near the “Wall of Memory” memorial.

Chernihiv Oblast

Yesterday, the russians shelled Semenivka and Snovske communities in Chernihiv Oblast with mortars.

Sumy Oblast

During the past day, the army of russia struck 5 communities. 148 explosions were recorded.

At night and in the morning, the russian army carried out 21 shellings of Sumy Oblast. Seven communities were hit. 64 explosions were recorded. As a result of artillery shelling, 400 consumers in two settlements were cut off.

More than 240 civilians, including 13 children, have died in Sumy Oblast since the start of the full-scale war.

Eastern Oblast

Kharkiv Oblast

During February 23, about 20 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast were under fire from russia. There is no information about wounded civilians in the villages.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian military repelled two assaults in the area of ​​Synkivka.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on the territory of Kharkiv Oblast, 2,419 civilians have died as a result of the war, of which 87 are children. More than 3,510 people were injured.

Donetsk Oblast

During the two years of full-scale war in Donetsk Oblast, 1872 people died and 4614 were wounded. The exact number of deaths and injuries in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

On February 23, one person was killed in Myrnohrad and two people were wounded in Siversk, Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian troops repelled 64 russian attacks at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions on February 23. Most of the attacks were made by russian troops in the Mariinka sector.

On February 23, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a russian ”Tor” anti-aircraft missile system and a ”Sontsepyok” heavy flamethrower system in Donetsk Oblast.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In Donetsk Oblast, all children from the Marinka community were evacuated within a week. Two more children from the Ocheretyne community and 16 children from the Toretsk community are to be evacuated as part of the forced evacuation.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

The russian army sent drones at two civilian cars in Siversk and injured two civilians. 

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On the night of February 24, the russian army fired two Shahed 131/136 drones and an X-59 guided missile at Mykolaiv Oblast, which were hit by air defense systems. In addition, on the afternoon of February 23, the Vesnianska community was hit by a missile attack. Also, during the day, the russian army struck at the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. There were no casualties.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

On February 23, the russian army struck 11 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia Oblast 614 times.

They attacked with 12 aircraft, drones, MLRS, and used artillery 470 times.

A married couple, a 26-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, were injured as a result of russian shelling of Tavriyske village yesterday. The couple is in hospital.

Eight attacks by the russian army near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, were repelled by the defense forces over the past day.

A 61-year-old woman was killed and a 32-year-old man was wounded in the arm as a result of russian shelling of Guliaypole this afternoon.

Over the two years of full-scale war in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, 13,501 infrastructure facilities have been partially or completely destroyed. 

Odesa Oblast

Last night, Odesa suffered a drone attack. Air defense forces shot down five Shahed-131/136 drones over Odesa Oblast, but the wreckage of one of them destroyed an apartment in the city’s Prymorskyi district. A one-story residential building was destroyed. Three people were injured. They were hospitalized in serious condition. The body of the deceased owner of the house was unblocked from the rubble.

Kherson Oblast

Yesterday, the russian army fired 20 times at Kherson Oblast. They hit 9 communities. The russian military attacked Kherson seven times. Four people were wounded.

As a result of the night shelling of Kherson, an overhead power line was damaged and a substation was de-energized. About 9,500 consumers were left without electricity.

A 38-year-old resident of Beryslav, who was wounded by russian shelling, was admitted to the hospital. On the evening of February 23, russian soldiers dropped explosives from a drone while it was near a store. The victim suffered a head injury and contusion.

In Kherson Oblast, air defense units destroyed a russian army Supercam reconnaissance drone on February 23.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the night of February 24, the russian army shelled Nikopol raion of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast twice. One of the villages of the Marhanets community and Nikopol came under attack. No one was injured or killed.

February 24 is a day of mourning in Dnipro for the victims of a high-rise building that was hit by a russian army drone the day before. Two people died there. Eight people were injured.

Over the two years of full-scale war in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, 300 people, including 16 children, have been killed by russian aggression. Another 1450 were injured, including 91 children. Almost 700 buildings have been destroyed and over 15,000 damaged.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Last night, air defense forces destroyed five attack drones and two X-59 guided missiles over Kirovohrad Oblast. The debris fell on the territory of an enterprise in Kropyvnytskyi raion, damaging administrative buildings and destroying an outbuilding. No one was injured.

Cherkasy Oblast

As a result of armed aggression in Cherkasy Oblast, 25 people were killed, six of them children, and 30 others were wounded. In addition, 244 civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

Chernivtsi Oblast

In the Chernivtsi Oblast, 54 mobile firing groups have been launched – these are off-road vehicles equipped with weapons that can shoot down russian drones and missiles. The crew of a firing team includes two soldiers.
