Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
Over 160 civilians died in Kyiv during the year of the full-scale war, and over 700 buildings were damaged. Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko released figures about the realities of life in the capital for the past year, and also published a video showing what the weeks before the large-scale invasion and the first days of the war were like.
The city authorities will involve a public monitoring group to monitor the condition of the shelters. The public monitoring group «OZON» will provide the Department of Municipal Security with a database of addresses of problematic shelters, where either there are no signs leading to the shelter, or the shelter is closed or does not exist there.

Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy continued shelling the border settlements of Kupyansk and Chuguyiv raions of Kharkiv Oblast.
Yesterday morning, the enemy launched a rocket attack on Kupyansk. A residential building was damaged. As a result of repeated shelling of the city after 21:30, another private house was damaged and a large-scale fire broke out.
In the village of Podoly, Kupyansk raion, a residential building and farm buildings were damaged.
A residential building was also damaged as a result of the shelling of the village of Synelnykove in the Vovchansk community of the Chuguyiv raion.
Humanitarian demining continues in the Oblast. During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 14 explosive objects.
Donetsk Oblast
Over the past day, the russian army shelled 17 populated areas of Donetsk Oblast with S-300 air defense systems, Grad, Uragan, artillery, mortars.
On February 24, the russian military carried out 37 assaults in the Donetsk direction, and on the night of February 25, six assaults were carried out. The russian army also carried out ten airstrikes.
On February 24, five people were injured in Donetsk Oblast by shelling from the russian army.
Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 1,384 people have died in Donetsk Oblast, and 3,090 people have been injured. It is impossible to establish the exact number of dead and wounded in Volnovakha and Mariupol.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
In the east of Pokrovsk raion, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Maryinka settlements.
Enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the cities of Avdiyivka, Vodyane, Prechistivka, Maryinka.
The russian military used «Smerch» with a high-explosive warhead in Dachne of the Kurakhove community, where four houses were damaged. Kurakhove, Kurakhivka and Gostre also came under fire, where one house was destroyed and another 12 were damaged.
Artillery shelling of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and Elizavetivka continued during the night, and in the morning residential quarters of Avdiyivka were shelled 4 times with artillery. The Progres village of the Grodivka community was hit by a missile – 2 houses were damaged.
Law enforcement officers arrested a resident of Myrnograd, Pokrovsk raion, who was waiting for the «liberation» of the city and was planning to fight against Ukraine. According to the investigation, from December 2022 to February 2023, a native of the Republic of Uzbekystan corresponded with a representative of the DPR, gave him data on the location of personnel, military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ammunition on the territory of Myrnograd and Pokrovsk. The suspect was remanded in custody without bail.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
On the afternoon of February 25, the russian military shelled the Illinivska community in Donetsk Oblast. They hit the field with the S-300. There are no casualties or injuries.
At least one person was injured as a result of today’s missile attack on Kramatorsk by the russian occupying forces. The russians hit a residential building with a rocket.
A woman was injured, 21 private houses were damaged, and a dispensary was destroyed.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion
In the direction of Bakhmut, 16 settlements were shelled, in particular, Spirne, Vesele, Ivanivske, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka and Ozaryanivka of the Donetsk Oblast.
At night, the russian military shelled Kostyantynivka, aiming at the territory of the kindergarten. One person was injured. According to the previous version, the S-300 missile was fired.
3 houses were damaged in the Toretsk community, 15 in Soledar community. A school in Minkivka was also damaged.
The Zvanivka community was affected: 10 houses were damaged in Zvanivka, more than 30 in Pereizny. Several houses were damaged in Siversk, at least 1 in Lyman.
During the year of the full-scale invasion of russian troops into Ukraine, 4,385 residential buildings were damaged on the territory of the Bakhmut urban territorial community.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion
In the direction of Volnovakha , the russians launched a rocket attack on Rozhlyv of the Velikonovosilkove community, they are holding Vugledar, Novoukrayinka and Bogoyavlenka under fire – in the latter, 2 houses were damaged.
Southern Oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past day, on February 24, the russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of 20 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Zaporizhzhia doctor Valentina Havryliuk, who heads the Department of Anesthesiology at the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Clinical Hospital, was awarded the title of “Honored Doctor of Ukraine”. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the doctor has administered more than two hundred anesthesias to wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and about two hundred anesthesias to evacuated civilians.
Anastasia Popovych from Berdyansk, who threw a Molotov cocktail at russian military equipment while driving in the first days of the full-scale invasion, is featured on a commemorative coin. A video from an occupied city in the Zaporizhia Oblast went viral and inspired people to resist. The russians announced a manhunt for Anastasia and her husband, who was driving the car. For almost two months, the couple hid in captured Berdyansk until they escaped from the occupation.
Mykolayiv Oblast
In the morning of February 24, the enemy attacked the settlement of the Kutsurub community with anti-aircraft missiles. The hit was recorded in an open area. There are no casualties.
Also, yesterday, February 24, during the day, the enemy made mortar attacks on the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

Odesa Oblast
On the Cathedral Square in Odesa, the memory of the fallen soldiers of the 126th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was commemorated. At the stands, you could read the biographies of fallen defenders who defended Ukraine at the front.
In the city of Izmail in Odesa region, two streets were renamed in honor of the defenders of Zmiiny Island and the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
Kherson Oblast
Over the past day, the russian army shelled Kherson Oblast 83 times, Kherson — 9 times. Shells hit private and apartment buildings, kindergartens and hospitals. One person is injured.
In Kherson, while extinguishing a fire in a kindergarten on February 24, russian troops fired at rescuers. 13 people worked on the site. There are no injured or dead.
Today, the russian military shelled the center of Kakhovka with mortars. Residential buildings and the fence of the electric welding equipment plant were damaged. There was no information about the dead and wounded.
In Kherson, two employees of the Kherson Oblast emergency and rescue service were wounded as a result of shelling by russian troops. They covered the windows on Poltavska Street with OSB-sheets. The men received shrapnel wounds.
Near the village of Dobryanka of the Visokopil community, two people were blown up by a russian mine while cultivating a field. They died on the spot. In Kherson, near the river port, a 63-year-old man blew himself up on a stretcher at his dacha. Wounded in hospital.
The Prosecutor’s Office announced suspicion of collaboration against the first deputy head of the Kalanchatka settlement council, Oleg Vodka, who held a similar position in the occupation authority. He publicly supported the actions of the aggressor state and quartered the russian military in Kalanchak. He faces 5 to 10 years in prison.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
The shelling of Nikopol on the night of February 25 damaged 10 five-story buildings, 11 private houses, two outbuildings, three educational institutions, a social institution, and a shop. Ruslan Bondarenko, a miner from Kryvyi Rih, was killed in Donetsk Oblast. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Golden Star to to Yevhen Bova, a resident of Poltava Oblast. During the full-scale russian invasion, he defended Mariupol and was the commander of the 1st Marine Battalion. He was taken into captivity. Last March, he was awarded the highest state award, the title of Hero of Ukraine, for defending Mariupol and holding his ground during the russian invasion.
A center for military and patriotic education of young people has been established in Poltava Oblast. It will teach firearms and engineering skills, as well as the basics of tactical medicine. The unit was formed on the basis of the Poltava Regional Center for National and Patriotic Education, Tourism, and Local History. In the future, it will become a separate institution – the Interschool Resource Center.
A monument to russian General Ivan Tretiak was dismantled in Poltava Oblast. On his orders as commander of the Far Eastern Military District, a Su-15 fighter jet shot down a passenger Boeing in 1983 with two R-60 missiles. The plane crashed near the island of Moneron. 269 people on board were killed.
A monument depicting the kremlin and memorial plaques commemorating the 100th anniversary of Lenin and the 50th anniversary of the October coup was dismantled In the village of Bilyky of Poltava Oblast.
A race for adults and children, Winter Run, took place in Poltava today. The youngest participant was 8 years old, and the oldest one was 77. The event was organized by the Poltava Regional Center for Physical Health “Sport for All”.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Residents of Kropyvnytskyi have paid tribute to their countrymen heroes. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – 21-year-old anti-aircraft gunner Oleksandr Shmyr and 33-year-old grenade launcher Andriy Pokazchenko – found eternal rest in the Alley of Honorary Military Graves at the Far Eastern Cemetery. On the one-year anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kirovohrad Academic Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi opened a thematic exhibition of the regional museum of local lore – “Crimes of the russian army in Ukraine”.
Western Oblasts
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
A soldier from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Yuriy Melnychuk, was killed in Bakhmut direction. For more than a month, the soldier was considered as missing. May the memory of the Hero be blessed.
Lesia’s readings were held in Ivano-Frankivsk. They were dedicated to the 152nd anniversary of the writer’s birth. Artists, scholars, students, and the military read Lesya Ukrainka’s poetry and prose quoted her letters, and presented their own works inspired by the birthday girl.
Free-of-charge Ukrainian language courses are being introduced in Ivano-Frankivsk. The classes will begin on March 1. The course is to last two months.
Rivne Oblast
In Rivne Oblast, five fallen heroes were honored: Volodymyr Liaskovets from the Varkovychi community, Volodymyr Zarichniuk from Kvasyliv, Valeriy Pavliuk from Rivne, Andrii Serhatiuk from the Mala Liubasha community, and Hryhorii Yermeichuk from Dubrovytsia Raion. May the memory of the heroes be eternal.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Mukachevo Regional Children’s Hospital received medical equipment from foreign partners. It was donated by the Knights Hospitaller Foundation together with Hungarian representatives of Baptist Aid and Zakarpattia Baptist Foundation. The humanitarian aid includes an electroencephalography system, an ultrasound diagnostic device, and a defibrillator worth more than UAH 2 million.
A flag football tournament was held in Uzhhorod in honor of Danylo Boguslavskyi, a soldier who fell in the war. The warrior was a player of the ‘Uzhhorod lisoruby’ (Uzhhorod Lumberjacks) club. The hero was killed in October 2022 in the Kherson direction while rescuing a wounded comrade from the battlefield.
