Kyiv

At the request of the metropolitan community and the head of the Museum of the History of Kyiv, the branches of this cultural institution are changing their names. “From now on, the Kyiv Pushkin Museum will be called the Mansion on Kudriavka, and the Museum and Exhibition Center for Contemporary Art will simply be called the Museum and Exhibition Center. The decision was made by the Kyiv authorities and put into effect by the order of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.

Kyiv Oblast

Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat said that during today’s alert, the Air Defense Forces shot down a russian drone over the Kyiv Oblast.

Parts of the drone shot down by the air defense forces were found after last night’s shelling in one of the raions of the oblast. During the inspection, the police found a fragment of the attack drone’s warhead with a fuse and eliminated it on the spot.

The Polish developer company DOM Developer will become a donor of the project to reconstruct the dormitory in the center of the village of Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. The dormitory renovation project was jointly launched by the charitable organization “Housing for IDPs” and the Irpin City Council. The goal of the project is to turn this abandoned dormitory into a socialization center for internally displaced persons.

A memorial stele will be erected in Irpin in honor of actor Pavlo Lee, who was killed by russians.

On February 19, a military serviceman, a resident of the village of Rozkopantsi, Yuriy Harnaha, born in 1988, was killed in action in the Kharkiv Oblast. He was conscripted in March last year. Bohuslav “Shershni” (Hornets) became the winners of the “Winter Cup” hockey tournament. Chernihiv Oblast

On February 28, Russian troops shelled the border community of Semenivka in the Chernihiv Oblast with tube artillery. Border guards recorded nine explosions of artillery shells.

On February 28, russians shelled 7 communities in the Sumy Oblast: Bilopillia, Nova Slobidka, Seredyna-Buda, Krasnopillia, Esman, Velyka Pysarivka, and Shalyhyne. A total of 106 hits were recorded. Five private houses were damaged.

Junior Sergeant Mykola Kucheryavenko was escorted on his final journey in the village of Podilky, Romny Raion, Sumy Oblast. The soldier was killed as a result of artillery shelling in Bilohorivka, Luhansk Oblast.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy continued shelling settlements in the Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk raions of the oblast.

This morning, the occupiers shelled Chuhuiv. Three hits were recorded in the city. An apartment building was damaged.

In Kupiansk, 2 residential houses, a kindergarten and the building of a fire and rescue unit of the State Emergency Service were damaged as a result of yesterday’s morning shelling. The City Park of Culture and Recreation also came under fire, where, unfortunately, a man died of wounds.

In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion, an apartment building was damaged by enemy shelling.

Mine clearance operations continue in the oblast. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 16 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, russian troops have carried out 17 strikes on the Donetsk Oblast and shelled 11 settlements in the Oblast.

On February 28, the russians killed three residents of the Donetsk Oblast. Four more people in the Oblast were injured. 

In total, since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,391 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and injured another 3,109 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

At night in the Bakhmut direction, snipers of the Special Operations Forces recorded the movement of a sabotage and reconnaissance group of russian troops. Ukrainian soldiers inflicted fire damage on the russian occupiers. As a result, ten occupiers were neutralized: seven were killed, three more were injured.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsky district, the russians attacked the Ocheretyne community with air rockets: in Lastochkino they killed two people and damaged 15 houses, in Tonenke they damaged the administrative building, in Orlivka three houses came under fire; the invaders attacked Krasnohorivka and shelled Ocheretyne with artillery.

In the Mariinka community, Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka and Kostiantynivka came under fire. 

Avdiivka was hit by twice, a residential quarter and the territory of an enterprise were hit.

Oil heaters have arrived from the public organization “Proliska” for the residents of the Pokrovsk community. 700 devices will cover the needs of more than 2,500 people whose homes are not heated due to a damaged heating network.

Bakhmut and Bathmut Raion

The enemy continues to advance in the direction of Bakhmut. It does not stop storming the city of Bakhmut. Our defenders repelled attacks in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora. Zaliznianske, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Mayorsk and Zalizne of the Donetsk Oblast came under enemy fire.

In the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk Oblast, as a result of shelling by the russian army, a school building and three residential buildings were damaged.  

Four houses were damaged in the Toretsk community: three in New York and one in the North. In the Soledar community, Orihovo-Vasylivka and Dubovo-Vasylivka were under fire.

As of March 1, four and a half thousand residents remain in Bakhmut despite daily shelling by russian troops. As a result of shelling, more than 4,400 residential buildings were destroyed. 

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Houses on three streets were damaged in the Lysychansk direction in Siversk, five hits were recorded in Torske and five in Zarichne of the Lymansk community.

Mariupol

In the occupied city of Mariupol, residents wait for transport at broken bus stops for hours. At the beginning of the invasion, the invaders almost completely destroyed it. Almost nothing from the transport has ever been restored. The only thing the occupiers managed to do was to put on the line the surviving buses and trolleybuses purchased by Ukrainian Mariupol with the help of European partners. And now, on propaganda channels, they say that life in the city has “improved” thanks to them.

Luhansk Oblast

Two groups of employees of the Special Operations Center “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine organized a night hunt in the Luhansk direction. After accurate work by strike drones, the enemy’s equipment was completely disabled. Six tanks were destroyed.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, February 28, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery strikes on the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community and the coast of the Kutsurub community.

In Mykolaiv, the Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanska raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a man in Mykolaiv who is suspected of passing on data about the locations of Ukrainian units in the south to russian special services. He turned out to be a tactical training instructor of one of the city’s public organizations. The court chose the measure of preventive measure — detention.

Odessa Oblast

In Odesa, the steamship “Zagorsk” will be named in honor of Valery Kydiuk, a 40-year-old sailor on which he worked. He died at the front. The man was supposed to go on a voyage, but he received a summons and went to serve. 

Ukraine has exported more than 22 million tons of agricultural products through the “grain corridor” since its start in August 2022, 18 million tons of them are grain and oil crops.

Kherson Oblast

During the day, the army of the russian federation shelled the settlements of five communities of the Beryslav Raion. One person died, three were injured. Three more people were blown up by russian explosives and were injured.

During the day, russian troops shelled the right bank of the Kherson Oblast. Four people died, five were injured.

A one-year-old boy was injured in Chornobaivka due to russian shelling. The baby’s ears and face were injured by shards of glass, he was taken to the hospital.

In the Kherson direction, russian troops are defending themselves and are trying to create conditions for the transition to the offensive in some areas.

Also, during the past day, the russian military fired artillery at Zmiivka, Mykolaivka, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Komyshany and Kherson.

The occupying forces restricted the entrance to the village of Promin of the Skadovsk Raion. Only those with local registration or a special pass are admitted.

Two people were blown up by russian explosives in the Kherson Oblast yesterday. A resident of Blagodatne was disassembling an explosive device found at home. The man died in the ambulance. Also, in the field behind Arkhanhelske, a man hit a mine on a tractor. He is currently in the hospital.

 Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the russians fired heavy artillery at four communities – Nikopol, Marganets, Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka сщььгтшешуі. In Nikopol, transport and three industrial enterprises, the road surface and power lines were damaged.

In Myrove community, there was destruction at an agricultural company and a store. Half a dozen houses and farm buildings, a car, a scooter were damaged. The electricity network and gas pipeline were also damaged.

In Kamianske, a farewell was held for 37-year-old senior soldier Oleksandr Sokolovskyi. From 2021, he served under a contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defender participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation/Joint Forces Operation. He died in battles in the Kharkiv Oblast in April 2022. The body of the serviceman was brought back only now. Oleksandr had a wife, three daughters, parents and two brothers. Eternal glory to the Hero.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In the russian-Ukrainian war, defenders from five communities of the Kirovohrad Oblast were killed: Dmytro Smetanka, Oleh Ludanov, Oleksandr Lavrivskyi, Mykhailo Kasilov, and Volodymyr Bilyi. Eternal memory to Heroes.

It is planned to build a cargo airport in Kropyvnytskyi. Currently, the concept of project development is being created. Its estimated value is 20 billion hryvnias. An investor was found who is ready to finance the work.

Almost one and a half tons of russian and soviet books were collected for disposal in Oleksandria, Kirovohrad Oblast. Participants of the campaign were paid 3105 hryvnias for waste paper. This money was transferred to the Volunteer Coordination Center for the purchase of a thermal imager for the military.

Western Oblasts

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, state awards were presented to the families of fallen Heroes. Three soldiers were awarded posthumously for their personal courage and selfless actions in defense of state sovereignty. Senior soldier Dmytro Martynenko was awarded the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”. Senior sergeant Oleksii Yanin and conscript soldier Vasyl Kuhar were awarded the Order for Courage of III degree.

Two rescuers, who extinguished the fire after the attack of enemy drones on February 27, are still in Khmelnytskyi City Hospital. The men have serious injuries to their limbs, but nothing threatens the lives of the firefighters.

The charity foundation “Volunteers of Podillia” has announced a fundraiser for the “Drone Army”. The cost of one “bird” [drone] with additional batteries is about one hundred thousand hryvnias. After another russian shelling on February 27, residents of Khmelnytskyi have already raised funds for several drones.

The psychological support center “Razom z toboyu” [“Together with you”] will open in Khmelnytskyi. From March, internally displaced persons, families of prisoners and relatives of military personnel will be able to receive help from it. Psychologists and social workers will help people adapt to new living conditions and restore their psycho-emotional state.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Two full-length films by the director from Kamianets, Andrii Zaiets, “Irrepressible” and “Ukraine’22: War Diaries” have been selected for screening at the French independent film festival “Cannes 7th Art Awards”. The festival will take place this autumn.

A charity concert was held in the “Rozmai” Culture House with the participation of groups and soloists of the “Rozmai” center, community club institutions, municipal and military brass bands. Admission is for a donation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” in Kamianets-Podilskyi Slavko Poliatynchuk took part in the meeting of the Council of Volunteer Organizations of the city.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Residents of the village of Dynivtsi (Novoselytsia community) collected money and purchased a Mercedes Vito. The transport was handed over to a unit in which their compatriot Vasyl Kimak serves.

Medical workers of the Chernivtsi perinatal center took part in the practical training on pre-medical emergency aid “First medical aid for injuries”, which was conducted by experienced professional trainers from the UK.

68 boilers were handed over to Bukovyna institutions where internally displaced persons were sheltered. These are, in particular, dormitories where IDPs with children live, family-type houses, etc. The equipment was provided by the Department of social protection of the population of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration with the support of UNICEF in Ukraine.

Rivne Oblast

Rivne Oblast is one of the oblasts that formed the defense budget. 52 territorial communities have allocated funds for strengthening the border and circular defense of settlements in the oblast. This was reported during the meeting of the committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which was held in the Rivne Oblast.

The cartoon Cat Inzhyr [Fig] went from the Internet to the public. For the first time, an exhibition of this comic character was organized in Rivne. Its author, Olena Pavlova, is from this city. According to her, the exhibition in the shelter of the regional puppet theater is called “Cats of Victory”.
