Kyiv

That night, the enemy carried out another massive air attack on Ukraine. In the capital, the alarm lasted for almost 7 hours. Thanks to the work of air defense, cruise missile and UAV strikes were not allowed in the capital. But an aeroballistic missile of the «Kinzhal» type hit an infrastructure object in the Holosiivskyi district. There are interruptions in the heat supply, some residents of Kyiv remain without heating. Elimination of consequences continues.

There was also an explosion in Sviatoshynsky district. Cars were burning in the yard of one of the residential buildings. Doctors hospitalized two victims.

The SSU detained traitors in Kyiv who provided information to the russian federation. The task of the three men was to get into the premises of one of the warlords and send this information to the curator from the FSB. For this they had an anonymous Telegram channel. The informants are currently in custody.

Thanks to the humanitarian aid of the International Organization for Migration, the stay of the capital’s residents at underground metro stations during air alerts will become more comfortable. The municipal enterprise «Kyiv Metropoliten» received 10,500 folding chairs, 1,500 blankets and 1,500 mattresses. Aid will be distributed to each underground station used as a shelter. In order to get chairs, you need to contact the staff on duty at the station. Blankets and mattresses will be used in the event of a long-term air alarm (more than 12 hours).

Kyiv Oblast

Due to the security situation and a massive missile strike by the enemy, on March 9, schools in Kyiv Oblast worked remotely.

Today, in the village of Kozyntsi of the Irpin community, the employees of the Municipal Guard began to install a system for alerting air alarms and other emergency situations.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Tonight, the enemy attacked Zhytomyr Oblast with kamikaze drones. One of the objects of the energy infrastructure was affected. A fire broke out as a result of the shelling. Almost 150,000 subscribers remained without power supply. Energy workers managed to revive the objects of the critical infrastructure of the Oblast. There are no victims or injured.

On March 9, at the session of the Zvyagel city council, deputies allocated 220 million hryvnias from the budget for the purchase of military bonds in order to support the military leadership of the state. 50 million hryvnias are also provided for 50 apartments for military personnel.

Chernihiv Oblast

At night, air defense forces destroyed a cruise missile in the Pryluky area.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, awarded state awards to two medical workers from Chernihiv. Maryna Demyanenko, nurse of Chernihiv City Hospital No. 2, received the Order of Princess Olga III degree. Nurse Yaroslava Pavlenchyk of Chernihiv City Hospital No. 3 received the «For a Saved Life» medal.

Sumy Oblast

On March 8, the russian military shelled four communities in Sumy Oblast. The communities of Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalygyne and Yunakivka came under fire. In total, 21 hits and one «round» from small automatic weapons were recorded.

On the morning of March 9, the russian military launched a missile attack on Shostka, Sumy Oblast. The invaders fired 3 cruise missiles. At least 1 car and 8 private houses were damaged, a fire broke out at one of the local enterprises.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

That night, the enemy launched a massive rocket attack on Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Oblast. Previously, at least 15 hits of S-300 missiles were recorded. Critical infrastructure objects are hit. In addition, a civil infrastructure facility was damaged in Kharkiv.

In the village of Pisochyn, Kharkiv raion, an enemy rocket hit the yard of a private house, several residential buildings were damaged. Two elderly women were slightly injured. A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized, and a 74-year-old woman was treated at the scene.

Another 1 rocket in Pisochyn hit a swamp in an open area.

In the village of Slobozhanske, Chuguyiv raion, a rocket damaged the greenhouse of a vegetable factory. Work is ongoing to eliminate the consequences of the hits. All emergency services are on site.

During the day, the enemy shelled the border settlements of the Kharkiv, Kupyansk and Chuguyiv raions of the Oblast. In particular, Kupyansk, Strilecha, Dvorichna, Vovchansk and other settlements were under fire. Houses and commercial buildings were damaged, fires broke out.

Donetsk Oblast

The main efforts of the enemy continue to be focused on conducting offensive actions in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Shakhtarske directions.

During the day, russian troops bombarded Donetsk Oblast 29 times with aircraft, «Grad», artillery, and mortars. Avdiyivka suffered the most shelling—fifteen—where the russian army fired from aviation, «Grad» MLRS and artillery.

Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in the areas of Orihovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske and Oleksandro-Shultyne settlements of the Donetsk Oblast.

On March 8, two people were killed in Bakhmut and Avdiyivka and four more residents were injured in the shelling of the russian army in the Donetsk Oblast.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, 1,402 people have died in Donetsk Oblast, and 3,142 people have been injured. It is impossible to establish the exact number of dead and wounded in Volnovakha and Mariupol.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

For several weeks in a row, Kramatorsk has been living without the application of blackout schedules – Ukrainian energy workers are doing everything possible to prevent mass missile attacks by the terrorist state of russia from succeeding.

Installation of 10 mobile concrete shelters has begun in Sloviansk. It is planned to install them at public transport stops and in places of large crowds.

Thanks to the cooperation of the city authorities with foreign volunteers, a humanitarian cargo arrived in Kramatorsk. Assistance was provided to city residents who are taking care of sick elderly neighbors. This time they were given sets of household chemicals.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the east of Pokrovsk raion, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the settlements of Kamianka, Severna, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Novomykhailivka, Maryinka of the Donetsk Oblast.

Areas of 20 settlements were hit by enemy shelling. Among them are Oleksandropil, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka.

Avdiyivka suffered the most shelling – fifteen – where the russian army attacked from aviation, “Hrad” and artillery. As a result of shelling, 9 residential buildings, a factory building and workshop, a hospital, a garage, and an outbuilding were destroyed and damaged. 

1,800 humanitarian kits from the American organization Global Empowerment Mission were issued today in the Rodyn Starostyn district of the Pokrovsk community.

Each package contains cereals, pasta, canned goods, hygiene products. This is not the first time that the Pokrovsk community cooperates with the American organization GEM and its partners – volunteers of the NGO “Quality of Life Foundation”.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

One person was injured in Bakhmut, at least 3 houses are known to have been damaged – the city was practically completely destroyed.

In Chasiv Yar, there was a hit on the territory of the enterprise and in the residential quarter — a house was damaged, without casualties.

It was loud on the outskirts of Soledarska and Toretsk communities.

In the Lysychansk direction, 7 houses were damaged in the Zvanivka community: 4 in Pereizny and 3 in Zvanivka. 9 arrivals were recorded in Torske and Zarichne of the Lyman community.

Bakhmut is currently the only city that falls under the criteria for forced evacuation. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the mechanism according to which children whose parents refuse to leave for safe territories of Ukraine, despite the danger, will be taken out of the combat zone. Yes, children under the age of 14, together with one of their parents or official guardians, will be subject to forced evacuation. In case of refusal, the state assumes responsibility for the child.

The Ukrainian national anthem drowns out russian propaganda on the radio in Bakhmut. Newspapers and radio receivers are brought by volunteers to the front-line city in Donetsk Oblast, so that residents have the opportunity to learn the latest Ukrainian news. In a city on the front line, russian propaganda is heard on the radio. To counteract this, they created a device that silences russian on the radio and interrupts it with the Ukrainian national anthem.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion

In the Volnovakha direction, Vugledar, Novoukrayinka and Prechistivka were under fire — no information was received about the victims.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolayiv Oblast

On the night of March 9, air defense units destroyed 9 missiles of various types over the Mykolayiv Oblast.

Yesterday, March 8, the enemy fired mortar shells at the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past 24 hours, the russian military shelled 20 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 5 reports were received about the destruction of citizens’ houses and infrastructure facilities as a result of shelling.

Today, March 9, during a massive missile attack, five russian missiles (formerly S-300) targeted one of the critical infrastructure facilities in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. There are no casualties.

Part of Ukrzaliznytsia’s flights are delayed due to rocket fire from the russian side. The delay is from 30 minutes to an hour.

Today, as a result of russian missile attacks, the last communication line of the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP with the Ukrainian power system was disconnected. The station was de-energized and went into blackout mode for the sixth time during the occupation. The 5th and 6th power units were transferred to a cold state, 18 diesel generators were switched on to power the ZNPP’s own needs. In the afternoon, specialists of “Ukrenergo” restored the power supply of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Odesa Oblast

As a result of a massive russian missile attack, energy infrastructure facilities in the Odesa Oblast were damaged. Because of this, on the night of March 9, a part of Odesa Oblast was cut off. Repair crews of energy workers are already eliminating the consequences of shelling.

During the missile attack over Odesa Oblast, anti-aircraft defense shot down six missiles.

Kherson Oblast

The russian army shelled Kherson in the morning. They also hit a public transport stop. A man and a woman died, another woman was fatally wounded when a projectile hit a kiosk, and there are at least two wounded. The information is being clarified.  

The court found a resident of Bilozerka guilty of collaborative activity. A 72-year-old woman worked as a “head of a public reception” in the occupation administration. She was deprived of the right to hold positions in state and self-government bodies, to provide public services for 10 years.

Khersonoblenergo received energy equipment. In particular, transformers, surge protectors, batteries and a disconnector. It was provided as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and the Secretariat of the Energy Society.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

As a result of the shelling of Marganets and Chervonogrihorivka communities, 5 people were injured, among them two children. The wounded 11-year-old girl was hospitalized with a damaged arm. A 10-year-old boy received shrapnel wounds and a contusion. 37 private houses, 16 utility buildings, 20 solar panels, 2 gas pipelines and 4 power lines were damaged. The occupiers also struck Nikopol with heavy artillery. Four five-story buildings were damaged in the city.

Air defense forces shot down 7 enemy missiles over the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. However, there are also “arrivals” in the Dnipro, Pavlograd, Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol raions. Energy infrastructure and industrial enterprises were damaged. Serious damage was recorded there. As a result of this massive attack, two people were killed and four others were injured.

In Dnipro, during the russian shelling on March 9, 4 high-rise buildings were damaged, more than 100 windows were broken.

Servicewoman Lyudmila Yakovenko, who served in the Kryvyi Rih tank brigade, returned from russian captivity.

Volunteers of the “TAPS” charitable foundation in Dnipro have made more than 40,000 trench candles since the beginning of the full-scale war.

In Dnipro, a ball with autographs of the players of the football club “Dnipro” of the 2010/2011 season is played. It was signed by famous football players. To participate in the draw, you need to make a donation of UAH 100 or more for the needs of football club fans currently serving in the Armed Forces.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Russian troops shelled an energy infrastructure facility in Kropyvnytskyi Raion. They used missiles and drones. The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war.

The degassing of the landfill in Kropyvnytskyi generated almost 4 million kilowatts of electricity. The degassing system, which converts hazardous biogas (methane) into electricity, was installed at the Kropyvnytskyi landfill in 2019. 

At the Bobrynets Special School in Kropyvnytskyi Raions, female staff members set up a sewing shop called Pixel Wizards, where they sew underwear and special equipment. They send the sewn clothes to wounded soldiers undergoing treatment in military hospitals in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Druzhkivka, and Mykolaiv. The workshop was set up at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Over a year, the workers have produced more than 1,500 pieces of military equipment: “plate carriers”, load-bearing vests, tactical and warm clothing, pouches, covers, first aid bags, etc. In addition, the school staff sent 17 camouflage nets and about a thousand trench candles to the soldiers at the front.

Poltava Oblast

On January 14, Yuriy Nemchenko from Poltava Oblast was captured near Soledar. The 42-year-old soldier is a resident of Kremenchuk. The soldier was taken prisoner by russian forces near Soledar, Donetsk Oblast. He was finally brought home with his other brothers and sisters.

The families of the three fallen defenders from Poltava Oblast were presented with their state awards. The relatives of Yevhen Pravednikov, Roman Dziuba, and Oleksandr Tantsiura received the Order of Courage. The defenders were killed last spring while defending Mariupol.

The President presented the order to a soldier from Poltava Oblast in a Lviv hospital. Hryhoriy Yaroshenko lost his leg while performing a combat mission. Hryhoriy Yaroshenko earned his Order “For Courage” of the third class in bloody battles. He was awarded for special courage and heroism in the performance of military duty.

Volunteers who have joined the Rage Brigade are undergoing training. The training includes theory and practice in three areas: fire, tactical and medical. The soldiers are learning how to provide first aid in stressful conditions, including on the battlefield. As part of the recruitment campaign, the Offensive Guard is forming eight new units. Motivated volunteers have the opportunity to join one of them.

Zinaida Petrova, a native of the russian vladikavkaz region, lives in Poltava, has a university degree, Ukrainian citizenship, and a pension. But this did not stop her from writing on social media that Mariupol is allegedly a “russian city.” The woman repented in court, so her sentence was limited to a suspended sentence.

Poltava raised over 50 thousand hryvnias for 4 thermal imagers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the sale of “Bandera Tulips.” They will be sent to Poltava residents fighting in the Mariinka, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka directions.

The Poltava community will finance mobilization and defense. To do this, Poltava wants to approve a new program with a budget of 42 million hryvnias.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

At night, a russian missile fell in a residential area in Zolochiv in Lviv Oblast. The fire destroyed three houses, a car, and several outbuildings. The dismantling of the houses destroyed by the russian missile in the village of Velyka Vilshanytsia has been completed. The hit killed five people – three men and two women who were at home at the time.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Today, air defense systems were heard in the Khmelnytskyi community during the air alert that lasted from the night of March 9. There were no hits on the territory of Khmelnytskyi Oblast. However, almost 35,000 consumers in Khmelnytskyi Oblast were cut off from electricity due to the massive rocket fire.

The Kamyanets-Podilskyi City Council website posted a message that unemployed people from low-income families will be able to receive funds to start their own businesses under the Helping Hand program.

The regional coordinator of the “Active Community” in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Slavko Poliatinchuk, held a meeting on the occasion of Taras Shevchenko’s birthday with students of the relocated educational institution, Kharkiv University.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Viktor Antonovych and Volodymyr Shliakhta, residents of Nedoboivtsi village of Dniester Raion, have traveled to the east of Ukraine 54 times with humanitarian aid. They regularly delivered food, hygiene products, vitamin kits, medicines, etc. to the Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel stationed in Kramatorsk sector. And 23 more times, risking their lives, they traveled to Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel to deliver humanitarian aid and help evacuate the residents of these cities.

Zakarpattia Oblast

In Zakarpattia, IDPs and vulnerable local residents are provided with free firewood. In particular, this project provides firewood to residents of Rakhiv, Tiachiv, and Khust Raions. About 600 households have already received support under the joint project of the UWA and the international humanitarian organization “Person in Need SK”.
