Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Volodymyr Zelenskyi together with the First Lady arrived at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the spectrum of Polish-Ukrainian relations, including security policy. President Andrzej Duda presented Volodymyr Zelenskiy with Poland’s highest award — the Order of the White Eagle for recognition of merits in deepening relations between the countries, activities in the field of security and stability in the protection of human rights.

A separate rifle battalion of the city of Kyiv received the necessary equipment for the latest combat management system. So, the soldiers were given car keys, as well as drones, tablets, monitors, generators, and other aerial reconnaissance equipment. This became possible thanks to volunteers and caring citizens who donate to the Armed Forces.

Easter curfew will not be lifted for safety reasons.

In Kyiv, the photo exhibition “War through the eyes of pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service” opened at the “Zoloti Vorota” metro station. It is dedicated to the work of sappers who defuse mines and ammunition every day.

Kyiv Oblast

Volunteer Zhanna Kameneva from Bucha was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree. The award was presented to her husband by the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba. The girl has been actively volunteering since 2014: she helped the military, boarding schools in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, and evacuated people. 

Since the beginning of the invasion of the russian in Ukraine, 11,449 objects have been completely and partially restored in the Kyiv Oblast. As noted in Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, complete reconstruction and demining will take 8-10 years.

Residents of the Hostomel community received cash vouchers for building materials to rebuild their own homes. Such assistance was made possible thanks to the charitable organization ADRA Ukraine. It is provided for those whose housing is damaged by 30-60% and they live in these houses. 22 representatives of families have already benefited from the assistance. 

An online meeting with the Secretary General of the World Wind Energy Association Stefan Gzanter took place at the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies. He told the lyceum students about renewable energy within the project dedicated to alternative types of energy. Every month there will be new speakers from different countries at the Lyceum.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In the Zhytomyr city council, four demobilized defenders of Ukraine were presented with state awards – the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree and the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal. Major Volodymyr Klymenko received the order. Medals – military Dmytro Humenyuk, Vasyl Makarchuk and Oleksandr Melnychenko.

In Zhytomyr, the 95th Brigade and 148th Art Division handed over another batch of drones – this time “Matrice” and “Valkyrja”. These drones will be used by the military for aerial reconnaissance and fire control.

A mural “Chronicle of Ukrainian Memory” was painted on the facade of the building of the Naroditsa settlement military administration, part of which was a mine danger QR code. 

Chernihiv Oblast

Another 26 generators with a capacity of 40 kW from the ROCKWOOL company were received by Chernihiv Oblast.

In total, Danish partners have already delivered about 350 units of generators for critical infrastructure facilities and medical facilities in the oblast.

The door from the basement of the school in the village of Yagidne, in the Chernihiv oblast, was shown at the international exhibition in New York called “Ukraine. Crucifixion. Tribunal”. On this door, people counted the days they had spent in prison with the russian occupiers. The russians set up their headquarters in the village school, and over 300 people were herded into the basement. People died of suffocation. Sumy Oblast

In Sumy, Easter cakes are collected for lonely elderly people. The charity event was announced by the Sumy city territorial center of social services “Bereginia”. The goal is to support elderly people who do not have relatives.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Russian military units are stationed in the border areas of Belgorod Oblast, but there are no signs of formations of offensive groups, the russian continued shelling Kupyansk and border settlements of Kharkiv Oblast.

Voting for new names for 66 toponyms related to the russian begins today in the Zolochiv community. Residents of the Kegichiv community also vote for the de-russification of toponyms. And in the Bogodukhiv raion, proposals for renaming six villages are being collected.

Donetsk Oblast

The enemy concentrated on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka directions. More than 60 enemy attacks were repelled during the day. Bakhmut and Maryinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.

In total, during the past day, the russians shelled 13 settlements, wounding 11 people. A school, a hospital, 32 houses and various commercial buildings were damaged.

Over the past day, four people were killed in Donetsk Oblast by shelling from the russian army. Three in the village of Lastochkine and one person in Krasnohorivka.

In total, since the day of the full-scale war, the russians have killed 1,454 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 3,350. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Yesterday, April 4, russians with Tornado surface-to-air missiles struck Kostyantynivka. A hospital, a registration center for homeless people, private and multi-apartment buildings, a shop and a former coffee shop were damaged.

A building in Mykolaivka was destroyed, shelling of the Torske, Lyman community was recorded.

The russian military shelled the village of Oleksievo-Druzhkivka with cluster munitions. Two people died, four were injured.

According to the Kramatorsk City Council, residents of Kramatorsk who were affected by the flood on April 4 can apply for financial assistance for repair work.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the Avdiyivka and Maryinka directions, the enemy carried out offensive actions in the Novokalynove, Severne, Pervomaiske and Maryinka raions of the Donetsk Oblast, without success.

At the same time, the enemy shelled the settlements of Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiyivka, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, and Maryinka.

The Ukrainian community of Selydove came under fire from «Hrads» — 5 houses were destroyed.

Specialists of the International Organization for Migration of the UN department assessed the condition of points for displaced persons in Pokrovsk. They were shown living conditions: bedrooms and shower rooms, a playroom and a dining room. The representatives of the organization learned about the needs and promised to satisfy them so that the Pokrovsk assembly point for temporary shelter of families would continue to maintain a high standard.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

The enemy is trying to take complete control of the city of Bakhmut, continues to storm it. Units of the defense forces repelled about 30 enemy attacks during the day.

More than 15 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkovo, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Ivanovske, Severnye and Shumy of Donetsk Oblast, were affected by enemy shelling.

As a result of shelling, one person was injured in Toretsk.

It is known that 5 people were injured and a high-rise building was damaged in Bakhmut.

Several houses on two streets of Siversk were damaged.

Mariupol

The teachers of the occupied Mariupol universities received a notification according to which they must notify the students about the need to register for the military. Thus, the russians can prepare the ground for the mobilization of young Mariupol citizens on the eve of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.

The sanitary-epidemiological service of occupied Mariupol recorded an increase in the number of residents admitted to hospitals with pathogens of dysentery and salmonellosis. In particular, one month-old baby is among the patients. The reason is low-quality food in spontaneous markets and lack of quality treatment.

The Mayor of Mariupol, together with charitable organizations, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with international partners who are ready to help in the renovation of dormitories for social housing. Partners are the Government of France, the International Organization for Migration and USAID. It is planned to renovate hostels in Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Kropyvnytskyi.

Luhansk Oblast

Another 27 quadcopters are heading to the hottest areas of the front. They were handed over to defenders of Ukraine from the Luhansk Oblast, Lysychansk and Severodonetsk city military administrations.

In three months, Luhansk Oblast has already received 2.7 thousand tons of humanitarian cargo, for the past year – almost 8 thousand tons. Medical institutions of the Oblast received special equipment and medicines worth more than UAH 50 million. All this help was provided by the state, partners and caring Ukrainians.

The system of civil protection of Luhansk communities is preparing for de-occupation. In the digital hub on the basis of the Severodonetsk humanitarian headquarters in Dnipro, training on civil protection was held for profile heads of structural subdivisions of communities of the region. The goal is to update knowledge in the field of civil protection. The creation of material reserves for the organization of work during de-occupation was also discussed.

Southern Oblasts

Mylokayiv Oblast

Yesterday evening, the enemy made artillery strikes on the water area of ​​the Ochakiv community.

Two children’s spaces «Spilno [Together]» from UNICEF were opened in Mykolayiv. On the basis of the city libraries in the Zavodskyi and Central districts, playrooms have been set up, where young people of Mykolayiv will find interesting activities, entertainment and toys, and spend their time fun and usefully.

Sewage treatment facilities damaged by explosions are being reconstructed in Mykolayiv. Danish partners help with infrastructure restoration. As a result of shelling last year, special concrete tanks, the so-called aerotanks, were damaged, where biological sewage treatment is carried out with the help of microorganisms.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Yesterday, April 4, the russian army attacked the Zaporizhzhia Oblast seven times with the help of drones, fired four times with anti-aircraft missiles, and also fired 61 artillery shells.

As a result, the russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of ​​19 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the temporarily occupied Molochansk of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the russian military moved into a three-story hospital building where lonely pensioners are staying.

In Zaporizhzhia, private houses damaged by the enemy attack on March 31 are being repaired. Specialists of the utility company «Zaporizhremservice» restore damaged roofs.

Kherson Oblast

Russian troops shelled the Kherson Oblast half a hundred times during the day of April 4, using 299 shells. Kherson — six times. Residential blocks, a school building and a private enterprise were also hit. Three people are injured.

On April 4, russian troops shelled a school in the Kherson community. At least 16 houses, cars and gas pipes were damaged. Two people were injured during the shelling of Antonivka.

In the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast, the russian military prohibited entry and exit to the village of Velyka Kardashynka in the Skadovsk raion and increased the checking of documents and mobile phones there. The occupiers introduced such restrictions due to the movement of heavy equipment of the russian army around the settlement.

On the left bank of the Kherson Oblast, the russian military is trying to “deport” local residents to russia. It is about forced evacuation to the Krasnodar land.

Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko visited Kherson Oblast. In particular, he visited a medical facility in Kherson, talked with doctors and thanked the doctors who continue to work under shelling. 

The schools of the Muzykivka community received equipment worth more than 5 million hryvnias. In particular, laptops and their accessories, tablets, projectors, infrared heaters, interactive whiteboards and others. Help was provided by the Kherson Community Fund «Zakhyst [Protection]» thanks to the financial support of USAID – US Agency for International Development and American taxpayers.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the afternoon of April 5, russian troops shelled Nikopol. 14 private houses, 15 outbuildings, and two cars were damaged. A shop building was destroyed. Before that, the enemy attacked the Marhanets community three times. The enemy artillery damaged 5 private houses, and 5 outbuildings, and one of them was destroyed to the ground. A power line was cut off.

The inventor Mykhailo Dronov from Kryvyi Rih creates unmanned aerial vehicles for the Ukrainian military. Together with them, he tested his aircraft under the influence of electronic warfare. Man is constantly improving his invention to make it as useful and effective as possible in war.

Residents of the Shyroke community in Kryvyi Rih Raion have organized to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since the first days of the war, they have been weaving camouflage nets seven days a week. Up to 20 people of all ages – from 30 to 70 years old – come every day. They make ghillie suits and trench candles.

Dnipro football fans are raffling off a mortar tube decorated with Petrykivka painting. The money will go to support Dnipro fans who are currently at the front. To participate in the draw, you need to donate at least 200 UAH.

Volunteers from Latvia donated equipment, toys, and furniture to a rehabilitation center in Dnipro. The aid was handed over to the Malva Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation. With the help of foreign gifts, the center will equip a “soft” rehabilitation room.

Kirovohrad Oblast

High combat awards were presented today to the parents of two heroes from Oleksandria, Oleh Sabadash, and Anton Bilodid, at the Oleksandria City Council. They were posthumously awarded the Order for Courage, 3rd degree. Eternal Glory to the Heroes.

The Mukhin Medical College in Kropyvnytskyi has started enrolling in free training courses on how to care for wounded soldiers at home. These courses are designed for people without medical education who care for military personnel undergoing rehabilitation at home.

Cherkasy Oblast

A team of psychologists has been formed in the Cherkasy territorial defense unit to help soldiers overcome stress. According to experts, at first, there were few requests from defenders, but over time, almost everyone with combat experience needs support.

The American Foundation “People of Ukraine” together with the Ukrainian Veteran Foundation of the Ministry of Veterans is launching English language courses for female and male veterans. They are adapted to the level of language proficiency and special needs of veterans. The courses will be held online, so those who have been injured and are undergoing rehabilitation can join. The training program lasts 3 months.

In Cherkasy Oblast, foresters planted 2 million 106 thousand seedlings as part of the Green Country project. In total, 48.2 million young trees have already been planted in Ukraine.

Poltava Oblast

In Poltava Oblast, a russian citizen was sentenced to 4 years in prison for preparing a crime against the foundations of national security. He came to his mother’s house in Poltava and began making leaflets for locals calling for surrender to the occupation forces and blocking Ukrainian military units.

First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Daria Marchak made her first working visit to Poltava Oblast. The purpose is to discuss the implementation of social policy in Poltava Oblast. The main areas of work remain the psychological and social rehabilitation of defenders. They also plan to develop veteran hubs.

Poltava Oblast has received more than a thousand “School in a Box” kits. Each kit contains school stationery. The kit is designed for 40 students and a teacher. This assistance was provided by UNICEF and the Volunteer Movement Foundation. The kits will be distributed among general secondary education institutions in Poltava Oblast.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

In Lviv Oblast, a court seized two more land plots belonging to Medvedchuk’s wife Oksana Marchenko. The total value of the seized property is almost UAH 17.5 million.

IDPs from Luhansk Oblast are supported in Lviv. In March, they received 734 food packages and 351 hygiene packages. In addition, representatives of the Danish Refugee Council provided family packages with hygiene products to Luhansk residents four times.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Atypical weather for this month was observed today in Kamianets-Podilskyi. It snowed 14 cm overnight. Therefore, utility workers were forced to postpone spring cleaning and return to winter cleaning.

A social passport of the community is being developed in Kamianets-Podilskiy. The document is an image document and can become a visiting card of the city. A working group has already started working on it with the support of the Stability Support Services charity foundation. It will accumulate information about all the resources of the community and its population and will contain geographical, political, economic, social, demographic, educational, and cultural sections.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Bukovina’s rifle battalions received help from carriers in the Chernivtsi Oblast. The soldiers received two vehicles with sanitary and hygiene boxes. This special equipment will ensure the comfort of soldiers in various units on the front line.

 The Ukrainian Red Cross Society has five clothing banks in Bukovina. IDPs, large families, and people with disabilities can receive clothes in the towns of Kitsman, Hertsa, Vyzhnytsia, Novodnistrovsk, and Novoselytsia.

In Sokyriany, Chernivtsi Oblast, displaced doctors were provided with apartments in a former hospital. The surgical department was redesigned into nine apartments. Renovation work in four has already been completed, costing the community more than UAH 5 million.

Zakarpattia Oblast

In Uzhhorod, the family of Vasyl Drohomyretskyi, a defender killed in the war, was presented with a posthumous Order of Courage, 3rd degree.

Members of the Executive Committee of the Uzhhorod City Council voted for the Program of Support for a Military Unit for 2023-2024. The document was developed to provide assistance and purchase the necessary equipment for the military unit, whose units are performing combat missions to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine.

In Zakarpattia, 40 children’s spaces and 20 sports grounds have been set up in schools, kindergartens, and shelters for internally displaced persons.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 was recorded today south of Mukachevo.
