6Northern oblasts
Kyiv
In Kyiv, 40 volunteer judges are using machine guns to shoot down Shahed drones over the capital. They go to their firing positions “on alert,” often in the middle of the night.
Chernihiv Oblast
Over the past day, the russian army attacked two communities in the Chernihiv Oblast border area with various types of weapons.
Sumy Oblast
The russian military conducted 170 strikes targeting the Sumy Oblast over the course of the day. 10 communities were shelled. In particular, in Sumy, 5 hits of guided aerial bombs were recorded on the territory of the city. One person was killed and three were wounded. Three other residents of the oblast were also wounded.
At night and in the morning, the russian army shelled the Sumy Oblast three times. A total of 52 explosions were recorded. The Bilopillia and Shalyhyne communities came under fire.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
On April 8, the russians launched an X-59 missile targeting Chuhuiv, and a russian munition hit a field in Zmiiv. Riasne, Kucherivka, Borova, and Slobozhanske were also under attack.
The enemy shelled Rubizhne with artillery and mortars, and more than 10 hits of russian shells were recorded in the area where pyrotechnics were working. People and equipment were not affected.
A 63-year-old man was wounded during the daytime shelling of Vovchansk. In total, on April 8, four cases of damage to houses in Vovchansk as a result of shelling were recorded.
This afternoon two hits were registered in downtown Kharkiv. As of 5 p.m., three persons were reported wounded.

Donetsk Oblast
On April 8, the russian army bombarded seven settlements in Donetsk region with guided aerial bombs, missiles, MLRS, and artillery. In particular, they attacked Lyman with missiles.
On April 8, Ukrainian troops repelled 49 attacks by the russian occupation forces on the frontlines of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. The russian army launched attacks in the Lyman, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka sectors with the support of aviation.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
On the night of April 9, the russian military fired four S-400 missiles on Druzhkivka. No civilians were killed or wounded. The building of the executive committee, residential apartment houses, a school of music, an orphanage, and a tram line were damaged.
This afternoon, the russian military shelled the town of Kostiantynivka. As a result, one person was killed and two others were wounded. There are probably two more people under the rubble of one of the houses. A search operation is underway. 27 private houses and three apartment buildings, infrastructure and administration building were damaged.
Pokrovsk abd Pokrovsk Raion
One person was injured in Sokil of the Ocheretyn community as a result of russian shelling. She was taken to the hospital.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Donetsk Oblast, one person died in the town of Chasiv Yar, and five residents were injured in Selidove as a result of shelling by the russian army on April 8.
Southern oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
On April 9, the russian army shelled Ochakiv with artillery. A house and a car were damaged by the hit wave and debris. There were no casualties or injuries.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Four people were killed and eight were wounded as a result of the russian shelling of Zaporizhzhia yesterday, April 8.
In total, during the day, the russian army made 536 strikes on 13 towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Seven russian FPV drones were neutralized by border guards in the Zaporizhzhia Obalst this night: one of them was “landed” without detonation.
Odessa Oblast
One drone was shot down over the Odesa Oblast. A private yard and a power line were damaged due to falling debris. People were not injured.
Kherson Oblast
Air defense units shot down two “Shahed-131/136” type UAVs during a night drone attack of the russian army in the sky over the Kherson Oblast.
Yesterday, russian troops shelled 15 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. Four private houses were damaged. Two people were injured.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Five russian drones were destroyed by air defense forces over Dnipropetrovsk on the night of April 9. There were two more in the Dnipro Raion and another two in the Kamianske Raion. Another one is in Kryvyi Rih.
The russian military also attacked Nikopol with an FPV drone and heavy artillery. There are no dead or injured.
Poltava Oblast
Late yesterday evening, the russian army struck an apartment building where about 30 people lived with a Kh-59 cruise missile. 16 people were injured, two of them children.
On the night of April 9, the russian military attacked an electrical substation in the Poltava Oblast. There was equipment damage.

Vinnytsia Oblast
A “Shahed-131/136” drone was shot down in the Vinnytsia Oblast.

Rivne Oblast
