Kyiv
Today, in the session hall of the Kyiv City Council, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko presented state awards and honors from the capital to Kyiv defenders of Ukraine. He awarded 23 servicemen with Medals “Honour. Glory. State”, Badges “For Contributing to the Defense of Kyiv” and Thanks from the Mayor of Kyiv. Two soldiers were awarded state awards – Orders “For Courage III degree”, unfortunately, awarded posthumously. They were received by the relatives of the Heroes. He also congratulated the 130th battalion of the Territorial Defense of Kyiv on the fact that it was the first of the capital’s battalions to receive a combat flag. He also conveyed congratulations to the soldiers of the 5th separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which recently received the honorary name of Kyiv. In the spring of last year, the brigade started its combat journey from the capital. And for more than a year, fighters have been defending Ukraine in the direction of Bakhmut.
A thematic exhibition about the history of Mariupol was opened in Kyiv. It was prepared by the Mariupol City Council, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, and the Mariupol Local Lore Museum. On large stands in the center of the capital, you can see photos and read information about Mariupol’s cultural heritage sites, ethnic diversity, the history of the Cossack period, the return of the historical name, and the events of the full-scale russian invasion.
Kyiv Oblast
Kyiv Oblast will additionally receive windows worth another 1 million dollars for their replacement in damaged objects. Such additional assistance was promised to our region by Michael Capponi, the founder of the non-profit organization GEM, the other day during a meeting with the head of KOMA, Ruslan Kravchenko. Almost 7,000 window structures have already been installed in the region. The total amount is 1 million 360 thousand dollars. Windows were replaced in 430 objects in Irpen, Hostomel, Sofiyivska Borshchagivka, in populated areas of Vyshhorod raion, etc. These are private and multi-apartment buildings, schools, kindergartens, dispensaries – the buildings that suffered the most as a result of the russian military aggression.
More than 400,000 copies of russian-language books and publications by russian authors have already been removed from Kyiv Oblast libraries. The process of withdrawing such publications and replenishing the funds of the region’s book collections continues.
“Dobrobat” volunteers have started the reconstruction of an apartment building in Irpen, on the street Sadova, 61. In the spring of last year, a hostile “arrival” took place in a two-story house where four families live. Currently, the well-wishers are getting along with the gutted roof of the house. Today, twenty volunteers were involved in the work at the facility.
Zhytomyr Oblast

Chernihiv Oblast
On October 4, russian troops shelled two communities in Chernihiv Oblast: Snovske and Semenivka. Border guards recorded eight explosions.
Sumy Oblast
During October 4, the russian army carried out five shellings of the Sumy Oblast border. 13 explosions were recorded. Krasnopillya, Khotyn and Seredina-Buda communities were under fire from the territory of russia.
Also, on October 4, a tractor blew up in a field near the village of Zhuravka, Khotyn community, Sumy raion. The driver was not injured, the tractor was mechanically damaged.
During the night and morning of October 5, the russian military carried out five shellings of the Sumy Oblast border. 16 explosions were recorded. Putivlska, Esman, Shalygine and Seredina-Buda communities came under fire from russian territory.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Last night, the enemy launched a rocket attack on the village of Pechenighy, Chuguyiv raion, hits were recorded on the territory of the summer village. 2 houses were damaged, there were fires.
At night, the enemy shelled the village of Horokhovatka, Izyum raion. There was a forest fire on an area of 500 square meters.
During the day, the populated areas of Kharkiv, Chuguyiv, Kupyansk and Izyum raion were under enemy attacks.
As a result of shelling in the city of Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion, a house was damaged and a fire broke out.
In the village of Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv district, artillery shelling damaged 2 private houses, farm buildings, and a private car.

Over the past day, russian troops attempted to launch an offensive in the area north of Zybyno in Chuhuiv Raion. Under fire from Ukrainian defenders, they retreated with losses.
Today the russian army fired at Kupiansk Raion in the afternoon. The enemy hit a grocery store and a cafe. As of 4:00 pm, the bodies of 49 people, including a six-year-old boy, were pulled from the rubble. Seven people, including a child, were wounded.
Donetsk Oblast
On October 4, 59 civilian objects were destroyed and damaged by shelling by the russian army.
One resident of Donetsk Oblast died as a result of shelling over the past day. Another 3 people in Donetsk Oblast were injured.
Since February 24, 2022, russians have killed 1730 civilians and wounded 4208 others. The number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
One house was damaged in Ivanopillia of Kostiantynivka community. In Druzhkivka community, 4 houses were damaged in Raiske and 1 in Novohryhorivka.
In the Lysychansk sector, 2 houses were damaged in Siversk, and 23 attacks were recorded in the Lyman community.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
The day before, russians launched two rocket attacks on the Shakhivska community – they hit the outskirts of Zolotyi Kolodiazh and Kucherevyi Yar, without causing any casualties.
One person died in Krasnohorivka, and 1 person was wounded in Avdiivka.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
Toretsk community was subjected to numerous shelling: 1 person was wounded in Toretsk and 17 houses were damaged. There is also 1 wounded person in Pivnichne and 1 damaged house in Nelipivka. In Chasiv Yar community, 9 houses were damaged.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
At night on October 5, air defense forces and means destroyed 10 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs over Mykolaiv Oblast.
Today, on October 5, the enemy fired artillery near the village of Kutsurub community. The consequences are being clarified.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The russian army conducted 189 attacks on the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday, on October 4. The enemy conducted four air strikes on Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyno. Almost 10 settlements survived artillery shelling, drone attacks, and attacks from multiple rocket launchers. One resident of Kamianske and a woman from Orikhove were wounded by russian artillery over the last day.
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled russian attacks in the areas of Novodarivka, Verbove and Robotyne.
A 250-kilogram unexploded guided aerial bomb was discovered by combine harvesters during harvesting in Zaporizhzhia, and rescuers removed it for further destruction.
Odesa Oblast
More than 20 merchant ships have used the temporary corridor in the Black Sea in the nearly two months since it was opened. Three more are currently sailing out of Ukrainian ports.

In the morning, the russian army shelled Zolota Balka in Kherson Oblast. They also hit Kizomys. There are destructions and damages to houses, no dead or wounded.
Today, Kherson came under fire from russian troops. Previously, 2 people died, in particular, a utility worker who cut trees.
At least four times, the russian military hit Bilozerka, Kherson Oblast. Shells damaged private houses.
The city of Beryslav was hit by five airstrikes today. The enemy targeted the hospital. The fourth floor of the facility was completely destroyed, another floor was partially destroyed. The ambulances were damaged. Two medical workers were injured.
In the Kherson Oblast, near the village of Novovoznesenske, a man ran into a mine during field work. He was injured.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The new “Poltava Resistance” program was approved without classified information. The community will buy military goods publicly, but the previous purchases and the cost of the equipment will remain classified. 21.8 million hryvnias will be allocated to finance the new program.
Two Veteran Development Centers were opened in Oblast. They will operate on the basis of the Poltava State Medical University and the Yuriy Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic National University. Here, psychological and physical rehabilitation, legal assistance, and professional adaptation will be provided to war veterans and their families.
They want to remove a monument erected in honor of the defeat of the Swedes in the war with the russians from the center of the village in the Poltava Oblast. The commemorative sign for the 275th anniversary of the victory of the russians in the Northern War in the village of Vepryk appeared during soviet times. The russians used the defense of the Vepryk fortress for ideology, to emphasize the loyalty of Ukrainians to the alliance with russia and the rejection of the “traitor” of Hetman Ivan Mazepa.
Cherkasy Oblast
More than a thousand air alarms have sounded in Cherkasy Oblast since February 24, 2022. The number of dead in Cherkasy Oblast reached 26 people, including 6 children. About 30 shellings of the Oblast were recorded. 331 objects, 21 buildings of educational institutions were damaged. The amount of damages is 400 million hryvnias.
Teachers and students of three Cherkasy schools No. 5, 15 and 21 refused flowers and gifts for Teacher’s Day. Instead, equipment was purchased for the military of the Cherkasy Territorial Defense Brigade.
Western Oblasts
Volyn Oblast
In two days, almost 40 Volyn farmers received free mineral fertilizers under the USAID program. In total, aid will be distributed to 177 households.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
188 employees and workers from various construction organizations of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast continue to restore the urban-type village of Vysokopillia of the Kherson Oblast. 257 home ownerships are registered in the Oblast. These are 18 apartment buildings, the rest are private households. 47 million hryvnias were provided by the Oblast for the restoration of Vysokopillia.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
About 490 million hryvnias have been allocated for education from the community budget. For inclusive education – 2 million 300 thousand hryvnias. For 2023, this is 1/4 of the budget.
Oleksiy Petukhov, a jazz performer from Odessa, performed in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The concert was held in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The charity foundation “SOS Headquarters of Civil Defense” invited displaced persons living in the community to the event.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Since the beginning of 2023, 821 internally displaced persons have used the services of the Chernivtsi Oblast Employment Service. It was possible to find work for 237 migrants in Bukovyna.
To ensure comfortable conditions for children in shelters during air raids, 212 biotoilets from the organization “Save the Children” were handed over to educational institutions of the Oblast.
A palliative ward for seriously ill children was opened in the international center “City of Good” in Chernivtsi. Here, a team of professionals will do everything possible to make the little one feel better.
Ternopil Oblast
This year, there are 485 points of invincibility in Ternopil Oblast, 158 are currently working. If necessary, they can open all of them.
73,000 internally displaced persons live in Ternopil Oblast. They were placed in social institutions.
There are 651 schools in Oblast. 505 of them are functioning offline, they are all equipped with shelters. Another 140 are in mixed mode.

Zakarpattia Oblast
