NORTHERN OBLASTS
Kyiv
German Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. This is her fifth visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. The purpose of the visit is to assure Ukraine of the support of Europe in general and Germany in particular.
The exhibition “Mariupol: 86 Days of Defense” opened on Sofia Square in the center of Kyiv. The purpose of the exhibition is to reproduce the main events that took place in the city, not to forget the soldiers who have been in captivity for more than two years, and to consolidate efforts for their release.
Chernihiv Oblast
On May 20, russians shelled two border communities in the oblast. The military registered 35 explosions.
Sumy Oblast
During the day, the russian military carried out 48 shelling attacks on the Sumy Oblast, with 243 explosions observed. Buildings were damaged in Velyka Pysarivka and in two villages of the Esman community. Administrative buildings and power grids were damaged in the Myropillia community.
At night and in the morning, the russian army fired twice at the border areas and settlements of the Sumy Oblast. A total of 13 explosions were registered.
The russian army attacked the Seredyna-Buda city council with drones. As a result, a fire broke out in the building.
The russian military launched a missile attack on the production infrastructure of Konotop. All required services are working at the scene, and the consequences of the attack are being clarified.
EASTERN OBLASTS
Kharkiv Oblast
Five people were injured as a result of russian federation’s nighttime attacks on Kharkiv using Shahed drones. The hits were reported in the Shevchenkivskyi, Saltivskyi, and Nemyshlianskyi districts of the city. Two houses and a car were burned down, while public transport and office buildings were damaged.
On May 20, Russians shelled Liptsy, a 58-year-old man was wounded. Petropavlivka, Kindrashivka, Kolodiazne, and Ivashky also came under fire.
A man was injured in Kamianka, Izium Raion, as a result of detonation of an explosive device. He was hospitalized.
Over the past day, the police evacuated 25 people from Vovchansk. In the evening and at night, the enemy attacked the town and its surroundings with guided aerial bombs. The center of Vovchansk and part of the private sector were completely destroyed.
Up to 100 people may be held captive by russians in Vovchansk. The exact number of people is unknown.
Last night in the Kharkiv Oblast, the air defense forces shot down five Shahed drones.
Several private houses in Kharkiv were damaged and fires broke out as a result of the attack by Shaheds. Four people were injured in the drone attack on Kharkiv.
In the Kharkiv sector, russian troops are using African mercenaries for “meat assaults”, followed by russian professional military. This was reported by the servicemen of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartiya”.
Today, russian troops carried out two air strikes on Zolochiv, causing fires.
In the Kharkiv sector, as of 2 p.m., russians twice launched attacks in the vicinity of Lyptsi, while in the Kupiansk sector, six combat engagements took place over the course of the last day.
Donetsk Oblast
The russian military attacked the Donetsk Oblast with drones, air defense systems and artillery during the previous day. The russian army hit Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, New York, Pivnichne, Bilokuzminivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Zavitne.
Two residents of the Donetsk Oblast were injured due to the strikes of the russian army in the village of Pivnichne and in Yelyzavetivka.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
This afternoon, russian troops shelled the outskirts of Sloviansk. Hits were recorded in the village of Bylbasivka.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital, an “underground” department is being built for emergency operations, examination and diagnosis of patients. Two operating theaters, intensive care units, X-ray and computer tomography rooms are planned to be placed in the shelter.
Luhansk Oblast
In the temporarily occupied Dovzhansk in the Luhansk Oblast, a warehouse of the russian occupiers with fuel and lubricants exploded.
The russian army sends reinforcements to the territory of the Luhansk Oblast. About 600 russian soldiers are traveling in civilian cars, simulating an evacuation.
SOUTHERN OBLASTS
Mykolaiv Oblast
On the night of May 21, combat work was carried out in the Mykolaiv Oblast by means of air defense. One shahed UAV was destroyed. In addition, on May 20, the russian army fired artillery at the water area of the Ochakiv community and the territory of the Kutsurub community. There are no casualties or injuries.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
434 strikes on 10 towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast were carried out by the russian army during the day, May 20.
Two residential buildings, farm buildings and cars burned as a result of shelling by the russian army in the village of Primorske in Zaporizhzhia. There are no casualties or injuries.
Odesa Oblast
14 drones were shot down in Odesa. Also, on May 20, the reconnaissance drone “Orlan-10” was destroyed over the Oblast.
Kherson Oblast
Over the past day, the russian army shelled 15 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. One person died, three others were injured. An educational institution, an industrial facility, a pumping station and a gas pipeline, seven high-rise buildings and seven private houses were damaged.
Air defense forces in the sky over the Kherson Oblast during a nighttime drone attack by the russian army shot down three “Shahed” drones, as well as “Supercam” and “Lancet” drones during the day.
Russian troops dropped explosives from a drone in Antonivka at the place of delivery of humanitarian aid. Three women were injured, they had mine-explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds.
The russian army shelled Ivanivka, the Dariivka community. One man was wounded. He was hospitalized with an explosive injury.
CENTRAL OBLASTS
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
In the evening of May 20, the russian army attacked the Nikopol Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast several times. Six houses were destroyed, one farm building was destroyed, three more were damaged, the administrative building, gas pipeline and powerline were affected. There were no casualties or injuries.
On the night of May 21, two russian “Shahed” drones were destroyed in the Kryvyi Rih Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Commercial buildings were damaged due to falling debris.
One russian “Shahed” drone was shot down in the Dnipro Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Three Polovtsian women sculptures were evacuated by the military to one of the museums of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast from under fire from the russian army. Previously, the artifacts stood in the middle of a village in the Donetsk Oblast. One of the stone statues was damaged by shrapnel from russian shells.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Yesterday, May 20, russian troops directed cruise missiles from tactical aviation at the Kirovohrad Oblast. Air defense forces repelled the attack. As a result of falling debris, a fire broke out in an open area.
The strike drone was destroyed in the Svitlovodsk community, the Oleksandria Raion of the Kirovohrad Oblast. According to preliminary information, none of the people were injured.
Cherkasy Oblast
The threat from the air in Cherkasy Oblast lasted for more than eight hours in a row. As a result of combat work of mobile fire groups and radio-electronic warfare over the territory of the region, 3 enemy “Shahed” drones were destroyed. It passed without casualties and destruction of infrastructure.
WESTERN OBLASTS
Chernivtsi Oblast
Valerii Manarkha, a native of Bukovyna, who uses a walker, started a marathon in support of the unit of the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade, in which his friend serves. The man wants to collect up to UAH 200,000 for electronic warfare gadgets – for this he plans to walk 45 kilometers from Putila to Vyzhnytsia. More than ten years ago, he suffered a stroke. Volunteers support him during the marathon.
Ternopil Oblast
Five volunteers are making “revenge drones” in a community in the Ternopil Oblast. These are drones on which plates with the callsigns of the fallen defenders are attached. One drone costs from UAH 15,000.
