Northern Oblasts
Kyiv Oblast
On the night of May 25, russians launched another attack on the Kyiv Oblast. The air raid alert lasted for more than 3 hours. During the air alert, the air defense systems were operating. As a result of the falling debris, the forest floor caught fire. The fire was promptly extinguished.
Today, explosive ordnance disposal was carried out in the Obukhiv Raion.
Investigators referred the case to the court against a group of occupiers-marauders, who robbed the apartments of civilians in Irpin during the hostilities. According to the investigation, this group of invaders entered the territory of Ukraine even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion. They acted as scouts and saboteurs.
Zhytomyr Oblast
The tenth train with IDPs from the Donetsk Oblast arrived in Berdychiv. This time, 21 residents, among them 11 children, came from the combat areas.
Three medical institutions in Zhytomyr region received “Homedoctor” telemedicine systems made in Spain. A total of 20 such systems were donated to Ukraine by the Spanish NGO Help to Ukraine. They allow for remote diagnostics to avoid the spread of disease, and now they help maintain access to medicine in wartime.
The coordinator of the Active Community team in Zhytomyr held an art therapy event called “Draw Your Name” for the townspeople. Its participants performed tasks and used colors to convey their emotional state. According to the organizer of the event, art therapy classes provide an opportunity to trace one’s own emotions and solve certain difficulties.
Chernihiv Oblast
On May 25, russian troops shelled the border areas of the Novhorod-Siversk community. The military recorded 14 hits near the village of Kamianska Sloboda and 13 hits near the village of Hai.
Today, explosive devices were destroyed by detonation near the village of Shestovytsia.
Sumy Oblast
On the night of May 25, attacks were recorded on the territory of the Nova Sloboda community in the Sumy Oblast. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or damage to infrastructure.
As a result of russian shelling on May 24, 84 explosions were recorded in the Velyka Pysarivka, Yunakivka, Khotyn, Nova Sloboda, and Bilopillia communities. In the Khotyn community, two people were injured. They were provided with medical aid and are being treated at home now.
Eastern regions
Kharkiv Oblast
Last night, the russian occupiers launched a missile attack on the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv Raion. The missile, presumably S-300, hit the ground. A private house located nearby was damaged. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
During the day, the enemy fired at the settlements of the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv, and Chuhuiv raions.
The shelling of Kupiansk damaged a nursery school, two 5-storey residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
In the village of Ploske, Kupiansk Raion, as a result of UAV strikes, a private house and a school building were damaged, and 2 outbuildings and agricultural machinery of an agricultural enterprise were destroyed.
In the village of Kucherivka, Kupiansk Raion, a fire broke out in 2 warehouses due to the enemy shelling, and a woodworking workshop was damaged.
In the village of Odnorobivka, Bohodukhiv Raion, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged, presumably by an aerial bomb.
In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion, shelling damaged a kindergarten and three private houses.
Mine danger remains high in the oblast. In the village of Oleksandrivka, Izium Raion, a 33-year-old civilian man hit an explosive device. He was hospitalized with an injury.
Mine clearance continues. Over the past day, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 8 hectares of territory and defused 139 explosive devices.
Donetsk Oblast
Over the past day, russian troops shelled 12 settlements in the Donetsk Oblast. Avdiivka, which the enemy attacked 11 times, also New York and Kostiantynivka, which were hit with Grad MLRS, were particularly affected.
On May 24, russians killed 1 resident of the Donetsk Oblast – in Chasiv Yar. Six more people in the oblast were wounded.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, russian weapons have taken lives of 1,530 civilians in of the Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 3,590. The number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha is still unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
In Kostiantynivka, 1 person was wounded and 2 houses were damaged as a result of shelling by the russian military.
In the Lysychansk sector, 2 houses in Zvanivka were destroyed, 6 other houses and a school were damaged. The shelling of Torske and Zarichne of the Lyman community was recorded.
In Tetianivka, Sviatohirsk community, the police exhumed the bodies of an 82-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl who were killed by artillery shelling.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops killed 32 russian soldiers in five engagements, wounded 62 and captured four.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the Donetsk sector, russians shelled Kurakhove with artillery and Uragan MLRS. The territories of several enterprises were hit.
In Avdiivka, a man hit a butterfly anti-personnel landmine. The wounded man was evacuated to the hospital.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the suburbs of Bakhmut, the russian command replaced the Wagner PMC units with regular army units. The Wagnerites remain in Bakhmut itself.
One person was killed and 4 houses were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community as a result of enemy shelling. One person was wounded in New York in the Toretsk community, 6 houses and an infrastructure facility were damaged.
In the Bakhmut sector, there were two engagements over the last day, where 87 russian soldiers were killed and 131 wounded, also weapons and ammunition depots were destroyed.
Mariupol
The LEGO team can release a set of the symbols of Mariupol – the Tower. The author of the initiative was designer Yevhen Tonev, who was born in Mariupol. The created model of the architectural monument consists of 3,062 designer parts and reaches a height of 34 centimeters. It is symbolic, because the height of the real tower is 34 meters. It is also beautifully decorated with window arches and parapets, and our blue and yellow flag flies on its top.
Southern oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
On the night of May 25, the forces and means of air defense of the “South” air command destroyed three enemy attack UAVs “Shahed-131/136” in the Mykolaiv Oblast.
Yesterday, May 24, at 18:00, the enemy launched artillery strikes on the water area of the Ochakiv community. There were no injuries or damage.
In Mykolaiv, the Pervomaisk, Bashtanska and Voznesensk raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past day, May 24, the russian military shelled 16 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Artillery and MLRS were used.
The russian military arranges provocations by shelling the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. So, this week, the russian army, in particular, set fire to the settlement of Tokmak in the Zaporizhia Oblast. At the same time, at the site of the explosion of one of the russian rockets, local residents found its fragment with the inscription “for brotherhood and for victory”, which exposed the organizers of the provocation.
Today, May 25, residents of temporarily occupied Melitopol reported black smoke over the airfield. According to the mayor Ivan Fedorov, the smoke may be the result of the ignition of fuel stored by the russians at the airfield.
Odessa Oblast
At night, the air defense forces shot down a “Shahed-131/136” kamikaze drone over Odesa. No hits were recorded in the south of Ukraine.
On May 26, a storm warning was announced in the Odesa Oblast, squalls of up to 15-20 m/s are expected. Due to the storm in the Black Sea, mine danger is increasing. There is a high probability of hitting the shore or drifting along the coast of sea mines.
In Odesa, buggies for the army are manufactured. They are maneuvering, fast and light vehicles. The first car was made for air defense, and one of the last ones was handed over to the Navy fighters, who hunt russian drones as part of mobile calculations. Bugs are made by volunteers from the “Indomitable Workshop”.
Kherson Oblast
Over the past 24 hours, russian troops have carried out 83 strikes from heavy artillery, Grad, tanks, drones and aviation in the Kherson Oblast. Kherson was hit twice. Shells hit residential quarters, social and critical infrastructure facilities in the Beryslav Raion. Four people were injured.
In the evening, the russian army attacked Berislav from aviation. A factory building and a dormitory of an educational institution were hit, residential buildings were also damaged. And in Novotiagynka, a fire broke out in a private house as a result of mortar shelling. The russian military also shelled Ivanivka. A 60-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized.
On the night of May 25, the enemy shelled the Suvorovsky district of Kherson and the coastal part of the community. Six attacks were recorded during the past day. Antonivka, Sadove, the Korabelny district of the city were under attack. There are no dead or injured.
At night, the russian army attacked Novodmytrivka of the Daryivka community. As a result of shelling, two fires broke out in residential buildings. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
The occupying authorities changed the status of the reserve on Dzharylgach, and the russian military covered the crossing to the island in the Lazurne area and set up a training ground there. The damage they cause to the environment is enormous, but it is currently impossible to calculate the damage. More than 500 species of different plants grew on the territory of the park, almost 250 species of birds, 81 species of red-listed animals lived, and all this biodiversity is now under threat of extinction due to the actions of the russian army.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the evening of May 24, russian troops attacked the Nikopol Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with a kamikaze drone. They hit the Marganets community and damaged a private house. There are no casualties or injuries.
On the morning of May 25, russian troops struck Nikopol again. Information on the consequences of the shelling is being clarified.
In Dnipro, the driver of one of the private enterprises, who transmitted the coordinates of the location of the Defense Forces and critical infrastructure facilities of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the russian federation, will be tried. He faces 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
Almost 800,000 hectares of fields were sown in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, which is more than 70% of the plan. Farmers sowed wheat, barley, peas, corn, buckwheat, and sunflower.
Cherkasy Oblast
Cherkasy divers-sappers work together with colleagues in Zaporizhzhia. They clean the Dnipro from explosive objects. In their work, rescuers use surface and underwater drones to scan and survey areas.
Cherkasy is preparing to become a rehabilitation hub. For this, the Oblast has the necessary basic infrastructure. Thus, a rehabilitation complex is already operating in Uman, where psychological, physical, and social rehabilitation services are provided to children with disabilities, military personnel after injuries, members of their families, etc.
400 thousand hryvnias for the military were raised at a charity auction in Cherkasy. It was initiated by the families of fallen defenders of Ukraine. The funds will be transferred to one of the military units for the purchase of a drone.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Ihor Reznik, a soldier from the village of Oboznivka, the Katerynivka community, received an honorary award from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi. He was awarded the “Golden Cross” badge for fighting for Kharkiv. Today, the soldier is at the front.
In Kropyvnytskyi, the orchestra of the 3rd separate special purpose regiment named after Sviatoslav the Brave gave a concert. The money is collected for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In two hours, the people of Kropyvnytskyi collected UAH 13,000 for the Ukrainian army.
In the city of Novoukrainka, the Kirovohrad Oblast, kindergarten workers make dry showers for military compatriots. Their advantage is that it can be used quickly and in field conditions. It takes 5 minutes and 50 milliliters of water. This spring, 100 dry showers were sent to the front line of the military. Currently, another hundred are being made.
For Heroes’ Day, an installation of military boots and flowers was created in the oblast center. So the artists decided to remind the townspeople about the price of the ongoing war. Yellow marigolds were chosen for the installation.
Poltava Oblast
In the Poltava Oblast, more than UAH 100 million will be allocated for shelters in schools and kindergartens. Today, out of 528 general education institutions, shelters in 129 schools do not meet security requirements. For 2023, the state has planned a subvention in the amount of UAH 55 million for the construction of anti-radiation shelters in 9 schools.
The modular town in Poltava is ready to receive internally displaced persons. Currently, the last stage of work is being completed here and people are getting ready to move in. 397 people have already submitted applications, they will start settling in at the end of May.
On the territory of the Poltava Pedagogical University, there is a support center “With Bakhmut in the Heart” for IDPs from the Bakhmut community. Here, psychological and legal assistance is provided for them free of charge. IDPs can get food kits and clothes at the hub. Currently, almost 900 people are registered in it, of which about 50 are children.
In the Poltava Oblast, for the first time, the churches of the moscow patriarchate were deprived of the right to use land plots. This decision was made by the Myrhorod City Council. Now the sites of 6 churches are transferred to the reserve lands of the city council.
Lviv Oblast
Air defense forces shot down 10 “Shahed” drones over the Lviv Oblast at night. There were no objects hit, no victims or injured.
Today, the Lviv Oblast welcomed the representative of the EU, military attachés and their deputies from 13 allied states of Ukraine. This visit proved the support of Ukraine in the struggle for its independence and confirmed the respect of European military diplomacy for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Farmers in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast were forbidden to cultivate fields with agricultural machinery during the air alerts. The corresponding decision was taken by the defense council of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Such restrictions were introduced in order not to interfere with the work of air defense forces.
An exhibition of posters with the latest technologies that help counter russian propaganda is on display in Khmelnytskyi. When pointing the smartphone at the poster, the mobile application activates the pictures. All 30 posters are created by artificial intelligence.
Chernivtsi Oblast
In the Chernivtsi Oblast, two power lines were damaged due to the fall of the fragments of a drone shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces. Part of the Dnistrovskyi district is out of power. Three residential buildings were damaged.
Oleksandr Tserkovnyi from Bukovyna was awarded the “Cross of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade” honorary award. He received it for outstanding personal bravery, courage, steadfastness and determination in the performance of military duty.
A memorial plaque in honor of the fallen defender Mykola Ionutsa was opened at the Cherepkivtsi educational institution in the Hlyboka community. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, a senior gunner, a soldier of military unit A 4722. He died in March 2023. In the Seliatyn community, local residents honored the defender Mykola Ziuba with the call sign “Yastrub” [“Hawk”] with a commemorative plaque. He died in December 2022 while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk Oblast.
Specialists of the Center for Psychosomatic Medicine (USA) will conduct comprehensive training on innovative models of self-care, development of psychophysical skills of self- and mutual support for employees of educational, health care and social protection institutions in Bukovyna.
Bukovyna schoolchildren learn how to deal with mines and explosive devices, provide first aid, disassemble and assemble a machine gun, and more. Classes for graduates of secondary schools are conducted by military personnel of the Chernivtsi Oblast Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Reception of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union resumes its work in Uzhhorod. The plans include legal counseling of citizens with the possibility of providing legal assistance. These services are provided to those affected by russian aggression. The second direction is the documentation of russian crimes for the work of future international courts.
In the Zakarpattia Oblast, since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, 110 soviet monuments have been dismantled. By this indicator, the oblast became the first in Ukraine.
Rest camps for children who need special social attention and support will operate in Uzhhorod. Children will be rehabilitated at the expense of the budget of the Uzhhorod community.
