Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
A monument to communist Ostrovsky was demolished in Kyiv. The monument was installed in front of the facade of the Electromechanical Technical School of Railway Transport at 35 Povitroflotskyi Avenue. It was removed together with the pedestal. Now there is a flowerbed on the place of the monument.
Kyiv Oblast
Another multi-apartment residential building is being restored in Irpin on the Hostomel highway. Capital repairs are being carried out at the expense of the Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. Before the war, 126 people lived in a building with 42 apartments. During active hostilities in the Kyiv Oblast, the building was significantly damaged. The facade, exterior walls and ceilings were damaged, windows and doors were broken, apartments were destroyed, and engineering networks were damaged.
The Department of Culture and Tourism and the Department of Youth and Sports, on the initiative of the Deputy Chairman of the Code of Administrative Offenses Mykhailo Yemets, launched a series of “Evenings of Invincibility” events. The first cultural event took place within its framework. KOSA representatives visited the “Vytach” wood-fired craft bakery and, together with athletes and guests, participated in baking bread for the Armed Forces. The purpose of the event was to get involved in volunteering, bake bread for our military and support the bakery in its desire to help and engage in volunteering activities, cooperating with charitable foundations and organizations.
Zhytomyr Oblast
In Zhytomyr, a coordination headquarters for operational response in conditions of restriction or termination of the supply of electric energy has been established. Its task is to ensure the creation of normal conditions for the life of the population under such circumstances.
The charity fair “Let’s Win Together” was held at Polis National University, at which Berdychiv schoolchildren collected 21,000 hryvnias. The collected money will be used to support the needs of the military.
Chernihiv Oblast
On October 5, russian troops shelled three communities in Chernihiv Oblast: Semenivka, Horodnyanka, and Novgorod-Siverskyi. Border guards recorded six shellings with 54 explosions.
Sumy Oblast
During October 5, the russian military shelled 8 communities of Sumy Oblast. More than 100 explosions were recorded. A milk truck in Sumy Oblast came under fire. A 40-year-old woman died.
During the night and morning of October 6, the russian military carried out 4 shellings of Sumy Oblast, 25 explosions were recorded. The communities of Bilopillya, Khotyn, Seredina-Buda and Druzhbivka came under fire.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
On the morning of October 6, the enemy launched 2 missile strikes, previously with “Iskander” type missiles, on Kharkiv. One of the rockets hit the roadway, windows were broken in neighboring houses. The second rocket hit a 3-story residential building, causing a fire. A 10-year-old boy died. 23 people were injured, including an 11-month-old child. Debris clearance works are ongoing.
During the past day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Bogodukhiv, Chuguyiv, Kupyansk and Izyum raions.
According to updated data, 52 people were killed and 6 people were injured in the village of Groza of the Kupyansk raion as a result of a rocket attack.
At night, the enemy attacked the village of Pisky-Radkivski of the Izyum raion with “Shakhed” UAV. The warehouse building and equipment of the civil enterprise were damaged.
In addition, the city of Vovchansk, the village of Vovchanski Khutory and the village of Lyman of the Chuguyiv raion, the city of Kupyansk, the village of Pershotravneve of the Izyum raion and other settlements were under enemy fire. Residential buildings, commercial buildings were damaged, fires broke out.
During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 80 explosive objects.
Donetsk Oblast
On October 5, two people were wounded in Pleschiivka and Novomykhailivka from shelling by the russian army in Donetsk Oblast.
In total, since the day of the full-scale war, the russian army has killed 1,730 civilians of Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 4,210 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
One person was injured and two houses were damaged in Pleshchiivka of the Illinivka community. In the Kostyantynivka community, 13 houses were damaged in Ivanopil, the outskirts of Markove were shelled.
A house in Siverske was destroyed in the Lysychansk direction. In the Zvanivka community, Pereizne came under fire, in Lyman — Torske, Zarichne and Yampil.
In liberated Sviatohirsk, a 52-year-old man blew himself up with a PFM-1 “Petal” mine. He was taken to Sloviansk hospital with a lower limb wound.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
One person was wounded in Novomykhailivka, Maryinka community, Krasnohorivka, Zoryane, Katerynivka and Elizavetivka were under fire. The previous evening, the private sector of Kurakhivka came under fire. In the morning, Avdiyivka was subjected to massive artillery shelling.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion
In the Toretsk community, a house in Druzhba was damaged, the enemy dropped an aerial bomb on Nelipivka – without casualties. 9 houses were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community. Rozdolivka and Vasyukivka were fired upon in the Soledar community.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion
In the direction of Volnovakha, the russians shelled Vuhledar twice, and hit Novoukrayinka with phosphorus ammunition.
Mariupol
According to local media, in Mariupol, Novoazovsk, Volodar and Mangush raions, number of townspeople who fell ill with acute intestinal infections increased during the week. The reason was spontaneous landfills throughout the city, low-quality food products in spontaneous markets that “bloomed” under the occupiers. At the same time, there is no normal treatment in the city.
Luhansk Oblast
The russians continue to storm the territory near Makiyivka. Ukrainian defense forces repelled four more enemy attacks there.
The enemy launched air and artillery strikes near Bilogorivka and Nevske.
The occupiers struck Nevske four times with KAB-500 aerial bombs. The explosions occurred on the territory of private households. Windows and roofs of several houses were damaged. 12 more explosions were recorded on the outskirts of the settlement as a result of artillery fire from the russian side.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolayiv Oblast
On the night of October 6, eight Shahed-136/131 type attack UAVs were destroyed by air defense forces in the Mykolayiv Oblast.
Yesterday, October 5, enemy shelling was recorded in the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.
Also yesterday, as a result of an enemy attack, a fire broke out outside the settlement of Radisnyi Sad community, which was promptly extinguished. There are no casualties.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
156 times the army of the russian federation shelled the cities and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday. Airstrikes were carried out in Orikhiv, Robotyne, Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka. More than 10 front-line towns and villages were shelled by MLRS, artillery and drone attacks.
On October 5, the russian military shelled the fire station in Orikhiv. Two rockets fell near the unit.
In Zaporizhzhia, a street appeared in honor of the 128th separate Transcarpathian Mountain Assault Brigade. Such a decision was taken by Zaporizhzhia City Council. The street of Komarov (a russian soviet cosmonaut who had no relation to Zaporizhzhia) was renamed to the street of the Transcarpathian Legion – a brigade that conducts combat operations in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Odesa Oblast
The russian army attacked the Danube with drones. Three drones were shot down over Odesa Oblast.
As a result, there was a hit, the border and port infrastructure came under attack. The damaged granary, administrative buildings, nine trucks were involved, the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries.
Due to the night attack of the russian federation in Odesa, the work of the ferry crossing point “Orlivka” was temporarily suspended. Work stabilization measures are taking place there.
Kherson Oblast
Yesterday, the russian army attacked the Kherson Oblast 78 times. They targeted residential quarters in populated areas of the Oblast, a medical facility in Beryslav, and a social-medical facility in the Kherson raion. Two people died, four were injured.
Early this morning, russian troops shelled the center of Kherson. Residential buildings were hit. Houses and shops have broken windows and shop windows. There are no casualties or injuries. The data is still being verified.
Russian troops today once again attacked the Dniprovskyi district in Kherson. Damaged houses, data on victims are being clarified.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of October 6, russian troops fired more than half a dozen artillery shells in the Nikopol raion of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. A private house, an outbuilding and a power line were damaged. The car was destroyed. There are no casualties or injuries. In the morning, air defense forces shot down a russian drone over the Oblast.
In Kryvyi Rih raion, sappers neutralized a modern cluster combat element from the Tornado-S multiple-launch rocket system. It remained after the shelling in 2022.
42 columns and 86 barrels for the collection of technical water were installed in the Dnipro. They are needed so that residents are provided with water during probable power outages.
Kirovohrad Oblast
As part of the second phase of the “Side by Side” project, the Oblast’s specialists have already inspected 161 objects in 10 settlements of the Velyka Oleksandrivka community in Kherson Oblast. Now they are drawing up inspection reports, defect reports, and determining the cost of repair works. However, the implementation of the first program queues in Mala Oleksandrivka. Builders are working on 5 objects. More than fifty have been repaired, and the owners have already returned there.
In Kropyvnytskyi, the first Barnahus center in the region was opened with the participation of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine. This is an area to help children who have suffered from violence or other illegal acts. It is one of the most effective models of interagency and interdisciplinary cooperation tested globally.
Poltava Oblast
In Poltava Oblast, 482 resilience centers have been deployed. In addition to the stationary stations, five mobile stations based on automotive equipment are ready to operate. If necessary, rescuers will send them to the emergency zone.
Myroslav Mukha, a war veteran from Kobeliak, opened an offline building materials store in Kremenchuk. He has already successfully developed two stores in Poltava Oblast, so he decided to scale the initiative. To do this, he took a two-day intensive course on Grants for Business and a training session on ”Veteran Business: What Are the Opportunities”. As a result, he received approval for grant assistance from the state in the amount of UAH 250 thousand. Six war veterans in Poltava Oblast have already used grants under the targeted program.
Cherkasy Oblast
In the sky over Cherkasy Oblast, 7 enemy “‘Shaheds” were destroyed. There were no casualties and no significant damage to infrastructure.
The Order “For Courage” of the III degree was presented to the mother of the fallen soldier from the Mankivska community Serhiy Nazarenko. The defender was the only son in the family, killed in April 2023 during a shelling in Donetsk Oblast.
A commission to verify applicants for compensation for sheltering IDPs was established in the Kaniv community. It can selectively visit places of accommodation for internally displaced persons on a monthly basis to check the number of people, their living conditions, and documents.
Western Oblasts
Volyn Oblast
The President of Ukraine posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star to Volyn soldier Taras Chaika, nicknamed ”Khimik” (”Chemist”). The Volyn resident was a lieutenant of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of October, the Lutsk city territorial community has set up stationary invincibility points in the city’s schools, religious organizations, starosta districts, and kindergartens.
Lviv Oblast
In Novyi Rozdil, Lviv Oblast, parents built a sports ground in memory of their fallen son, soldier Rostyslav Balzan. The school where the defender once studied will now host an annual tournament every year.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Chernivtsi is 95% ready for the heating season. This was reported by the city authorities. Before the onset of cold weather, 1,940 meters of heating networks were replaced, and all boiler houses underwent preventive maintenance. Installation and adjustment of generators is underway.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
Almost 90 people honored the memory of Vasyl Matiychuk, a Hero of Ukraine who died in the russian-Ukrainian war, from the village of Khimchyn, Kosiv Raion. His family, friends, and fellow villagers fulfilled his dream of climbing Hoverla. The hike was dedicated to the warrior’s birthday.
Ternopil Oblast
A memorial plaque was unveiled in Ternopil in honor of the fallen Special Forces officer Viktor Melnychenko. The police captain, senior inspector of the 2nd Special Operations Division of the “KORD” Department of the National Police in Ternopil Oblast, died in February 2023 in Donetsk Oblast.
A free jamboree camp for young people called “Povstanska Vatra” has started in Ternopil Oblast. Almost a hundred participants from Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk have registered. The event aims to unite active youth in Ukraine.
