Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Thousands of people came to support the “Azov” brigade at the World Run in Kyiv. In particular, veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war also came to the race. A strip of 20 obstacles was organized on the territory of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine. The total distance of the route is 5 km. The race is for charity. The funds, according to the organizers, will be used for the purchase of FPV drones, as well as for the rehabilitation and prosthetics of wounded fighters.

Kyiv Oblast

Head of KOMA Ruslan Kravchenko took part in a working meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal with the heads of regional military administrations. One of the main issues discussed at the meeting is the protection of energy facilities. Rapid recovery projects and new approaches in veteran policy were also discussed.

A unique shelter was created for an elementary school in Hostomel. It was built in the form of the Hobbit’s fairy-tale house from the famous book by the outstanding English writer, Professor John Tolkien.

Free replacement of windows damaged by shelling continues in the Irpin community. The installation is carried out by the Irpin City Council within the framework of cooperation with the American charitable fund GEM (Global Empowerment Mission) in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and Kyiv OMA.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Another evacuation train with migrants from Donetsk Oblast has arrived in Zhytomyr Oblast. 17 people came with it, more than two-thirds of them are people with disabilities. The settlers will be accommodated in three communities of the region.

The Novoboriv community of Zhytomyr Oblast allocated almost 100,000 hryvnias for the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and handed over two diesel electric generators and two charging stations to the military.

Chernihiv Oblast

On October 7, russian troops shelled the communities of Horodnyanka and Novgorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv Oblast.

Sumy Oblast

On October 7, the russian military shelled Shostky district in Sumy Oblast. As a result, a private house caught fire in one of the settlements. Rescuers found out that the fire engulfed a private residential building, a summer kitchen, utility buildings, a garage, and a neighbor’s house and utility building. Additional forces and means of the State Emergency Service were involved in extinguishing the fire. Firefighters extinguished the large-scale fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring houses.

During October 7, the russian military shelled 6 communities of Sumy Oblast. 54 explosions were recorded.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Last day, the russian occupiers shelled populated areas of Kharkiv, Bogodukhiv, Chuguyiv, Kupyansk and Izyum raions with artillery, mortars and with the help of aviation.

Buildings and property of an agricultural enterprise were damaged as a result of a guided aerial bomb attack on the village of Cherneshchyna, Izyum raion.

A private house was damaged by mortar shelling in the village of Kindrashivka, Kupyansk raion.

As a result of a missile attack on the village of Peresichne, Kharkiv raion, the roofs, facades and windows of 5 multi-story residential buildings were damaged, and a fire broke out. 4 cars were damaged. Due to an acute reaction to stress, two people – a 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman – turned to doctors for help. Without hospitalization.

The villages of Petropavlivka, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka of the Kupyansk raion, the city of Vovchanske and the village of Pletenivka of the Chuguyiv raion were also under the fire of the occupiers.

Demining works are ongoing. During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 63 explosive objects.

Donetsk Oblast

Since the day of the full-scale war, 1,731 civilians of Donetsk Oblast have been killed by russian weapons, and another 4,211 people have been injured. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

In the morning, Kostyantynivka came under attack by Iskanders: 4 people were wounded, 19 private houses, 10 high-rise buildings, a boiler house, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged.

In the Lysychansk sector, 1 person was killed in Dronivka of the Siverska community. The enemy fired 7 times at Torske and Zarichne of the Lyman community – no casualties.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Avdiivka and Dronivka came under fire yesterday, one person died.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the evening, the enemy shelled New York in the Horlivka sector, damaging 4 houses. Another 1 house was damaged in the Chasiv Yar community.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, russians shelled Vuhledar, causing no casualties.

Mariupol

For a week, Mariupol residents have been bringing aid from the Armed Forces and the Mariupol Military District to YaMariupol centers in 16 cities of Ukraine. Over this time, they have collected over 600 kilograms of warm clothes and blankets.

Luhansk Oblast

The occupants dropped two KAB-500 bombs on Nevske and Novoliubivka. They also fired eight times at the villages from multiple rocket launchers. Bilohorivka also suffered from enemy shelling. Another destruction was recorded in Nevske – two houses were destroyed by russian artillery on October 4.

Active hostilities are taking place in the vicinity of Makiivka – the Defense Forces repelled six more enemy attacks there over the last day.

The invaders continue to set up military hospitals in houses with civilians. In particular, in Lysychansk, such a hospital was set up in a multi-storey building where civilians currently live.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, on October 7, in Mykolaiv Oblast, the air defense forces of the South Air Command destroyed a russian ”Orlan-10” reconnaissance UAV.

Yesterday, on October 7, the enemy launched missile strikes outside the settlements of the Vesna community. The first one caused a dry grass fire, the fire was extinguished.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian army shelled towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia Oblast 133 times yesterday: air strikes were carried out on Orikhiv, Robotyno, Novodarivka, and Novodanylivka; 118 times they attacked the territories of 10 settlements with artillery. There were 11 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure.

Two people were killed and two more wounded as a result of russian artillery shelling of Bilenke over the past day.

Odesa Oblast

Four people were injured as a result of a nighttime russian missile attack in Odesa Oblast on the night of October 7. The russians hit the building of a boarding house in a recreational area and a grain storage facility. The blast wave damaged several high-rise buildings, smashed windows and doors.

During the day, the russian army sent three guided aerial bombs to the south of Odesa Oblast, creating tension around sea transportation routes in the area of Zmiinyi Island.

A resident of Odesa was sentenced to seven years in prison for filming production videos for the russian TV channel ”ren-tv” together with his friend, a pseudo-journalist. The defendant posed as an employee of the Odesa Regional Military and Civilian Personnel Committee and told how he was forced to hunt men of military age to avoid mobilization himself.

Kherson Oblast

Over the past day, the russian army attacked Kherson Oblast 59 times. They hit residential areas of the settlements in Kherson Oblast, a transport base in Kherson Oblast, and a company in Beryslavske. Three people were wounded.

As a result of massive russian shelling of Kherson Oblast at night, multi-storey buildings, a gas pipeline, and vehicles were damaged, and seven residents of Kherson were wounded. A private house in the Stanislavske community was hit, four people were wounded.

Around one in the morning, the russian military shelled Kherson with artillery. 11 people were wounded, including a nine-month-old child and a Red Cross medic. Houses, cars, and gas distribution networks were damaged. Windows, doors, and balconies were smashed in the buildings.

Ten fires broke out as a result of nighttime russian shelling. Four houses, three outbuildings, cars and an abandoned warehouse were on fire. The fires were extinguished by rescuers.

The russian army fired on the suburbs of Kherson, hitting the area near the church. Three women were injured, houses and a car were damaged. A dog died as a result of the attack.

In the morning, the russian army dropped two bombs on Beryslav, Kherson Oblast. A local resident was wounded and hospitalized.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

A gymnasium, a communal enterprise, 11 houses and the same number of farm buildings were damaged as a result of shelling of Nikopol during October 7. A building that was not in use was also mutilated. Power lines and a gas pipeline were affected. There are no dead or injured.

On the night of October 8, no shelling was recorded in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

A photo exhibition was presented in Dnipro, the photos of which show volunteers at work. It consists of 10 metal movable structures. There are almost 30 pictures on them.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, a petition was registered regarding regularization of the daily minute of silence. Its author proposes to stop city transport at 9:00 a.m. in memory of those who died as a result of the aggression of the russian federation.

Specialists of the group of pyrotechnic works of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine destroyed 10 munitions of the Second World War, which were found in the village of Yemylivka of the Golovanivsk community, the village of Kalmazove in the Vilshanka community, and near the village of Vilshanka in the Golovanivsk raion.

In Kropyvnytskyi, 263 food kits were issued in the hub to immigrants from Luhansk Oblast during the week. 300 food sets have been created for further distribution.

Poltava Oblast

85-year-old Maria Chichkalo from Poltava sews adaptive clothes and things for soldiers in the military hospital and at the front. These include, in particular, underwear and bed linen, pillows, “valyky” and “kozlyky”. Volunteers bring her fabric for sewing.

In Poltava, a charitable sports and health event was held in memory of the military serviceman Yevgeny Brach with the call sign “Mali”. For a free donation, participants could perform the author’s complex of physical exercises “Mali”, which was developed in honor of the defender. More than 650 people came to honor the soldier.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

In Lviv Oblast, more than 36 million hryvnias have been earmarked for the equipment of “Defense of Ukraine” offices. In total, 62 territorial communities will receive subventions from the Oblast budget for “Defense of Ukraine” offices.

14-year-old Mykyta, who was seriously injured as a result of shelling by russian troops in Novodmytrivka, fell into a coma. He was evacuated to the Lviv Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital “Okhmatdyt” in a stable serious condition. His younger brother died.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Four soldiers from Khmelnytskyi, tank officers and artillery officers of the third separate tank Iron Brigade were awarded by the President of Ukraine while in the area of ​​hostilities.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Mykola Hutskal from Bukovyna is a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2014, he was injured during a break-in to Luhansk airport and was treated for several months. It was difficult to return to civilian life despite working with psychologists. Then sports helped Mykola. Now Gutskal has completed training and has become a sports ambassador of the “Come Back Alive” foundation. He visits veterans in rehabilitation units and offers them adaptive archery or soccer.

 A charity fair was held in the junior school of Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 9, where funds were collected for the needs of the Armed Forces. It was organized by students and parents of fourth grades. As a result, it was possible to collect almost 90 thousand hryvnias.

The language educational hub started work on the basis of the Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education of the Chernivtsi Oblast. Classes are aimed at internally displaced Ukrainians and citizens of other nationalities. The acquired skills will help the listeners to improve their speaking and communication skills.

Chernivtsi celebrated 615 years since the first written mention of the city. On this occasion, a theatrical performance about the transformation of Chernivtsi into a shelter for displaced persons took place in the courtyard of the town hall. Immigrant children from Mariupol, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Donetsk took part in the performance.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The anniversary race “Frankivsk Half Marathon 2023” took place in Ivano-Frankivsk on October 8. For the tenth time, volunteers could test their strength at distances from 100 m to almost 22 km. During the half-marathon, almost 1.5 million hryvnias were collected for 10 separate mountain assault brigade “Edelweiss”.

In the village of Vovchynets, Ivano-Frankivsk community, a children’s boxing tournament was held, dedicated to the memory of Ukrainian heroes who died in the russian-Ukrainian war. During the competition, approximately 3,000 hryvnias were collected for the military.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Representatives of the Italian foundation “Let’s help them live” visited Zakarpattia on a working visit. The first deputy head of the OMA, together with partners, discussed the organization of recreation for Ukrainian children abroad, the provision of humanitarian aid, and the strengthening of the Oblast’s health care. It was also discussed the possible participation of the Foundation’s team in the implementation of the construction project of a rehabilitation center for military personnel in Uzhgorod.

The Transcarpathian Oblast Center for Training the Population for National Resistance held final practical classes and assessments for the first course.

The Charitable Fund “Movement to Support the Transcarpathian Military” announced a collection for optics for the Armed Forces. In the largest supermarkets of the city, teenagers and high school students work alongside adult volunteers.
