Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
President of Poland Andrzej Duda arrived in Kyiv with an unannounced visit. He will hold talks with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in particular, on the threat of a terrorist attack by the russians at the Zaporizhzhia NPP and preparations for the NATO summit in Vilnius.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also arrived in Kyiv with an unannounced visit. He will meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and take part in events on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine.
The first mobile shelter was installed in Kyiv. It is made of high-quality concrete and can protect against blast wave and shrapnel damage. One module accommodates up to 20 people.
A floral panel with storks and embroidery was opened on Beresteyskyi Avenue for Constitution Day.
Kyiv Oblast
Today, in Vyshgorod raion, explosive devices were liquidated.
A special event was held in Borodyanka on the occasion of the Constitution Day of Ukraine. It was attended by the head of the Kyiv OMA Ruslan Kravchenko, the deputy head of the Kyiv Oblast Council Tetyana Semenova, the head of the Bucha RMA Danylo Mavlyanov, as well as representatives of local authorities. During his speech, Ruslan Kravchenko noted that Borodyanka is a city that became a victim of large-scale violations of human rights and a place of terrible russian war crimes.
Volunteers from the Netherlands are helping rebuild Irpin. During their visit, the foreign guests helped to clear the fires of destroyed houses and build new ones instead. Volunteers collected money for new homes in the Netherlands.
Chernihiv Oblast
On the night of June 28, the russians shelled the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast, namely the Semenivka community. Border guards recorded three explosions near the village of Leonivka.
34 medals «For the defense of Chernihiv» were handed out in the city council on the occasion of the Constitution Day of Ukraine. They were received by the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the territorial defense forces, who in February-March 2022 defended Chernihiv from russian troops during a full-scale invasion.
The National Commission for State Language Standards recommends changing the names of 55 settlements in Chernihiv Oblast that do not meet state language standards.
Sumy Oblast
During June 27, the russians fired 10 times on the border areas of Sumy Oblast: Krasnopillia, Khotin, Myropillia, Seredyna-Buda, Esman and Velyka Pysarivka communities. Four private houses, an outbuilding, a summer kitchen, a garage and three cars were damaged in Velyka Pysarivka.
During the night and morning of June 28, the russian military carried out 14 attacks on the border of Sumy Oblast. 57 explosions were recorded. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties or damage.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Yesterday, the russian occupiers shelled front-line and border settlements in the Bogodukhiv, Kharkiv and Kupyansk raions of the Oblast.
In particular, Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Masyutivka, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka, Krasne Pershe, Berestove and other settlements were under the attack of enemy mortars and artillery.
Large-scale destruction and casualties among the civilian population were not recorded.
Demining is ongoing in the Oblast. During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 6 hectares of territory and neutralized 71 explosive objects.
Donetsk Oblast
On June 27, the russians killed 9 residents of Donetsk Oblast. Another 46 people in the Oblast were injured during the day.
Since February 24, 2022, 1,582 civilians of Donetsk Oblast have become victims of the russian-Ukrainian war, and another 3,772 people have been injured. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
On the Donetsk side, Krasnohorivka and Kostyantynivka of the Maryinka community came under fire from the russian federation. In Avdiyivka, there were isolated shellings.
During the breakthrough of the russian positions near Krasnohorivka, Ukrainian soldiers from the assault group of the 28th brigade seized positions near the dam near the village of Kurdyumivka and planted the flag of Ukraine at this place.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
Yesterday evening, the russian army struck the center of Kramatorsk. One rocket hit the private sector, the other hit a pizzeria with a large crowd of people. We already know about 10 dead. 44 wounded. Three children are among the dead, and one child is among the wounded. Three more may be under the rubble of the destroyed building. Rescue operations are ongoing. The strike destroyed the building of a catering facility, and damaged 18 multi-storey buildings, 65 private houses, 5 schools, 2 kindergartens, a shopping center, a hotel, an administrative building, and a recreational facility.
A suspect in the June 27 rocket attack on Kramatorsk was detained. According to the SBU, the resident of Kramatorsk cooperated with the federal security service and was tasked with filming the cafe and the surrounding area to check if there were people inside.
Also yesterday evening, the russian military shelled the town of Kostyantynivka. The town was hit with artillery, one person was wounded.
In the Lysychansk sector, 5 houses were destroyed and 5 damaged in Terny, 1 house was destroyed and 2 damaged in Yampolivka area, 2 houses were destroyed and 3 damaged in Ivanivka, 1 house was destroyed and 4 damaged in Kolodyazi.
In Lyman, Donetsk Oblast, law enforcement officers detained a russian energy engineer during stabilization efforts. According to the SBU, he cut off electricity to the region’s residents and redirected it to the needs of the occupiers.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Horlivka sector, 1 person died in Minkivka of the Soledar community. In Chasiv Yar community, 5 private houses, 1 multi-storey building, and a warehouse were damaged.
Ukrainian troops were advancing in the Bakhmut sector in the vicinity of Rozdolivka, north of Soledar, south of Paraskoviivka, in the areas of Zaliznianske, Berkhivka, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are also consolidating their positions.
The russian army has mined the outskirts of Bakhmut, which is hindering the rapid advance of the Defense Forces in this area.
The evacuation crew of the “White Angel” police evacuated four children and their families from Toretsk. 11-year-old Milana, together with her mother and older brother, was taken to a safer region.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion
In the Volnovakha sector, russians shelled Vuhledar with artillery 13 times.
Luhansk Oblast
Enemy shelling of settlements in Luhansk Oblast with rocket and cannon artillery does not stop for a day.
The enemy tried to organize an offensive near Bilohorivka, but failed once again.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy fired on the town of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community. This resulted in a dry grass fire in open areas. The fire was promptly extinguished. There were no casualties.
Also yesterday, on June 27, a settlement of the Kutsurub community was hit by a shelling, which damaged outbuildings on the territory of a household. There were no casualties.
The day and night were relatively calm in Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka Raions.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Over the past day, June 27, russian troops shelled 16 localities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. 77 attacks were recorded. The attacks targeted civilian homes. They shelled Orikhiv from the air, and used MLRS and artillery in the Polohiv and Vasyliv Raions. One person was killed and nine were injured.
On the night of June 28, more than five explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. No details were reported.
At noon today, the russian army opened fire on Vovchanskyi Khutir in Chuhuev Raion. Three men were killed.
As of today, the water level in the cooling pond at Zaporizhzhia NPP remains stable at 16.58 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
Historical artifacts are being found at the bottom of the shallow Dnipro River near Khortytsia Island. For example, a part of a Greek amphora, an 18th-century button, and a cannonball have already been found. The finds date back to the Eneolithic period and till the twentieth century.
Odesa Oblast
The Order of the Golden Star was presented by Volodymyr Zelenskiy to Major Serhiy Dudin, deputy commander of the Odesa Marine Battalion of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade of the Naval Infantry Command of the Ukrainian Navy.
A memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Moloha, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi raion, to soldier Petro Forostenko, who died in August 2022 in a battle in Mykolaiv Oblast.
A bicycle ride was held in Odesa on the occasion of the Constitution Day of Ukraine, with more than 30 cyclists, including children, taking part. Also, 20 bicycle patrol officers of the Odesa Patrol Police Department joined the ride. They started from the Opera House and finished at the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
Kherson Oblast
On June 27, the russian army fired 72 times at Kherson Oblast. Six shells were fired at Kherson. There were hits to residential areas. Three people were wounded.
Today, the russian military shelled Zmiivka in Beryslav raion. The shells hit a residential building. No one was wounded.
In the temporarily occupied Nova Zburyivka of the Hola Prystan community, russian soldiers in an armored personnel carrier ran over an 83-year-old woman who was standing near the fence of her yard. She died on the spot. In addition, in Kakhovka, russian occupants abducted a 39-year-old man from his home. His fate is currently unknown.
In occupied Hornostayivka in Kherson Oblast, the russian military is taking away homes whose owners have left for government-controlled territory or died in the fighting. They put signs on the seized houses that read: “property of the russian”.
A doctor from Kherson, who cooperated with the russian military and headed the Karabelesh hospital they seized during the occupation of the city, was suspected of aiding the aggressor country. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of June 28, russian troops fired heavy artillery at communities in the Nikopol and Synelnykiv districts. An agricultural enterprise was damaged. No one was killed or injured.
Last night, air defense forces shot down two russian Shakhtyds over the oblast.
Currently, there are 29 residential facilities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast that can accommodate IDPs. In Dnipro, there are two municipally owned buildings. Another 38 are dormitories and private shelters.
More than 40 thousand smoke bombs have been manufactured and sent to the front by volunteers from Kryvyi Rih since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. There are four types of smoke bombs, and the time of active smoke varies from 70 seconds to more than two minutes. They are also resistant to moisture.
Kirovohrad Oblast
Soldiers of the 176th Golovaniv and 174th Kropyvnytsky battalions of the terrorist defense destroyed the 136th “Shahed” with automatic weapons.
A resident of Kropyvnytskyi raion is suspected of treason. The man was passing information about military units, hospitals, and critical infrastructure facilities to russian representatives. He does not admit his guilt. The suspect faces 15 years to life imprisonment.
Cherkasy Oblast
At night, Cherkasy Oblast came under an enemy air attack. Air defense destroyed two enemy attack drones. However, two more hit an empty warehouse in Cherkasy raion. Rescuers quickly extinguished a minor fire. There were no casualties.
On the occasion of the Constitution Day of Ukraine, the best servicemen of the 118th Brigade were awarded the Golden Cross by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and badges of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine “For Exemplary Service”. The brigade’s units currently in the combat zone will receive their awards and insignia in the coming days.
Poltava Oblast
A street was named in honor of the legendary “tank fighter” Serhiy Mishchenko in Zinkiv, the warrior’s hometown. The defender is credited with 35 destroyed enemy vehicles. 7 of them, including 4 tanks, were destroyed by Serhiy Mishchenko in one battle. For his ability to fight, “Bugor” was awarded the highest title of “Hero of Ukraine”, but posthumously.
The relatives of the fallen Bohdan Zinchenko from Poltava Oblast created a petition to award the soldier the title of Hero of Ukraine. The soldier was originally from Cherkasy. Later, the family moved to the village of Lazirky, Orzhytsia community, Poltava Oblast. He served in the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade, with the call sign “Achilles”. The 31-year-old junior sergeant died in June 2023 while performing combat missions.
A Poltava court announced a verdict in the case of the owner of the Diamond Tools Plant, who traded with russia. The court ruled that the owner of the plant was found guilty under the article on collaboration and illegal handling of weapons. He was sentenced to a 4-year suspended sentence.
The last monument to Maxim Gorky was dismantled in Poltava Oblast. In Verkhnya Manuylivka, a bust of the russian writer, which stood in the center of the village, was removed.
Western Oblasts
Rivne Oblast
The military authorities in Rivne Oblast will bring to disciplinary responsibility for closed and poorly maintained shelters. Currently, unusable shelters have been removed from the interactive map.
As part of the project “Chests for Victory – Transformation,” organized by the Good Deed charity foundation, craftswomen from Rivne Oblast managed to make 10 chests and 8 products from shell casings. The organizers plan to sell all these items and donate the proceeds to charity for the Kochubeev community in Kherson Oblast.
Dogs and cats are asked to be booked: in Rivne, volunteers are looking for homes for evacuated animals from Donetsk Oblast.
Zakarpattia Oblast
“A 22-year-old Mykola Kuznetsov from Mukachevo received the Golden Cross from Zaluzhnyi. He participated in the offensive on Kherson, held the defense of Soledar. He went to defend Ukraine in March 2022, after returning from working in the Czech Republic.
The Uzhhorod City Council hosted a meeting with representatives of three UN international organizations – experts from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine, and the International Organization for Migration. They discussed further cooperation and the implementation of social projects in Uzhhorod. The priority is to strengthen the integration of IDPs and solve their urgent problems.
