Northern oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

During the day of July 17, 252 explosions were recorded in the Sumy Oblast as a result of russian shelling. Two people died, 10 were injured. Two people were killed and 10 wounded. According to the police, 11 private houses, 4 apartment buildings, 3 garages, an administrative building, 3 cars, a moped, power lines, a transformer, and a gas pipe were damaged over the day.

At night and in the morning of July 18, the russian military fired mortars at the border areas of the Sumy Oblast. A total of 19 explosions were recorded.

Following the russian shelling of the town of Bilopillia on July 17, Sumy declared today a day of mourning for those killed in the Bilopillia community.

People who have written a refusal to be evacuated from the 5-kilometer zone of the Sumy Oblast will be able to leave and enter this territory using passes. Such passes will not be issued to those who live there but are not registered in the communities.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy shelled the border and front-line settlements of the Chuhuiv and Kupiansk raions with mortars, tube and rocket artillery.

In particular, the areas of Vovchansk, Karaichne, Budarky, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Kyslivka and other settlements were under hostile shelling.

As a result of the shelling of Kupiansk with multiple rocket launchers, the premises of an enterprise and 2 private houses were damaged. Two civilian men, aged 49 and 60, sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service surveyed about 12 hectares of territory and neutralized 143 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

On July 17, russian troops shelled 19 towns and villages of the Donetsk Oblast and fired at the civilian population more than 30 times.

Three people were killed in the Donetsk Oblast as a result of the shelling by the russian army. Four more people were wounded.

Since February 24, 2022, the Russians have killed 1,616 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 3,855 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Over the past day, the outskirts of the Kostiantynivka community came under fire from the russian army.

Three houses were destroyed in the Lysychansk direction in Siversk; during the day there were eight hits of the Lymansk community.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

The occupiers attacked the village of Stepanivka using Smerch MLRS.

In the Ocheretyne community, one person died in Stepove. The settlement of Lastochkyne was under fire. A house in Krasnohorivka was damaged. Avdiivka was hit by two rockets. The enemy shelled the Kurakhove community four times. Some houses are damaged in Kurakhove.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Horlivka direction, one person died and two were injured in Stepanivka of the Illinivka community. One house was damaged in the Chasiv Yar community, another one in Toretsk.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha direction, one person died in Makarivka of the Velyka Novosilka community. Vuhledar and Prechystivka were under fire. There are no casualties.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On the night of July 18, four “Shahed-136” kamikaze drones were shot down over the Mykolaiv Oblast by the forces and means of air defense.

At night, July 18, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv. An industrial facility was hit. As a result, there was a fire, which was promptly extinguished. There are no casualties.

On the morning of July 18, the town of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community was subjected to artillery shelling. The consequences are clarified.

In the Pervomaisk, Bashtanska and Voznesensk raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, July 17, the russian military shelled 24 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia o

blast. A 72-year-old resident of Orikhove died, three women and two men were injured.

In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, despite the russian aggression, the harvesting campaign of early grain crops began. The average yield is 32 quintals from one hectare, which is four quintals more than last year.

Odesa Oblast

At night, Odessa was attacked by six Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea. All of them were shot down by air defense. Port infrastructure facilities and several private homes were damaged by debris from the downed missiles and the blast wave from the downing. An elderly man was injured in his own home and was taken to the hospital. Also, 21 Shahed-136 drones were shot down over the Odesa Oblast. 

Kherson Oblast

During July 17, the russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 95 times. It fired 79 shells over Kherson. Three people were injured.

At night, the russian military attacked Sadove and Kherson. In total, the territory of the Kherson community was shelled 36 times during the day. Hits were also recorded in Inzhenerne and Komyshany. One person was injured.

During the past day, the enemy shelled four communities of the Beryslav Raion with artillery. Houses and farm buildings were damaged. There were no casualties or injuries.

The russian army carried out an airstrike on Kozatske. In Kherson, the enemy hit a building in the center, Dnipro district and Korabel microdistrict. The invaders also attacked suburbs and country houses along the coastline.

The russians attacked Zmiivka in the Kherson Oblast. They also dropped aerial bombs near the Antonivka Bridge. There was no data on victims.

In the Kherson Oblast, the places for drilling 50 new wells have been determined to provide people with drinking water. Also, specialists of the municipal water supply pump the existing wells and take samples to determine the water quality indicator.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the night of July 18, russian troops hit Nikopol and the Synelnykove Raion with artillery. There were no casualties or injuries.

At night, Ukrainian military of the Air Command “East” shot down an enemy drone in the sky over the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In the Kirovohrad Oblast, 84 business entities decided to relocate their production facilities to Kropyvnytskyi, Oleksandria, Znamianka, Svitlovodsk, Novomyrhorod and Bobrynets. Of these, 75 enterprises have already started their work in new locations. As a result, 309 new jobs were created, of which 131 belong to IDPs.

The Mariupol volleyball club was revived in Kropyvnytskyi. Currently, it is visited by half a hundred resettled girls from the Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson oblasts. This club was founded in Mariupol 24 years ago. Last year, escaping from shelling by russian troops, the head and coach of the club, Valentyn Yakushevskyi, left Mariupol.

Poltava Oblast

Specialists from the Poltava Oblast are restoring residential buildings in the villages of Pravdyne and Chkalove in Kherson Oblast as part of the “Side by Side” project. They repair roofs, replace windows and doors in people’s homes. In Chkalove, there are plans to renovate the village council, a kindergarten, and a paramedic-midwifery center.

15% of shelters in the Poltava Oblast cannot protect people during “air alarms”. The results of the inspection of protective structures in the communities of the Poltava Oblast showed that the existing shelters will be able to protect a third of the residents of the oblast, while some remain inaccessible. In the Poltava Raion, out of 942 shelters, 195 do not fulfill their mission.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

In Kamianets-Podilskyi, there is a Public Works Program funded by the community. From now on, volunteers who weave camouflage nets and internally displaced persons who perform community service receive payment for their work.

12 new energy-saving lanterns were presented to the city by Dmytro Savenko, the founder of the “MiSt” Charitable Foundation named after M. Savenko. Another 10 lanterns will be delivered to Kamianets-Podilskyi for the Independence Day of Ukraine.

Chernivtsi Oblast

A separate infantry battalion is being formed in the Chernivtsi Oblast. People from 18 to 55 years old can join it. Military service experience is not mandatory.

A car, a thermal imager and a Starlink satellite communication system were delivered to the front by volunteers from Dynivtsi, the Novoselytsia community. The transport was also loaded with necessary food and water.

Mykhailo Lebiha, a well-known blogger from Chernivtsi, will donate over 8 million hryvnias for “Sich” drones for reconnaissance. He collected this money during a stream on the Twitch platform.

As part of the “eRobota” program, an entrepreneur from Chernivtsi, Maksym Korovin, creates bags and accessories in the “military” style. Since March 2022, he has produced a wide range of products for the military – gun belts, holsters, belt-shoulder systems, carbines and much more.

In Bukovina this year, for January-May, 11 legal entities received partial compensation at the expense of oblast budget funds in the total amount of UAH 675,100 for free temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons in their premises.

The summer specialized school “Intellect of Ukraine” is a joint project of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Department of Education and Science of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration. It has already accepted 80 children, including students of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and children of military personnel from various regions, in particular, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kyiv, Chernivtsi oblasts.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The women of the 128th Zakarpattia Mountain Assault Brigade were tested for the right to wear soil-colored berets. The soil-colored beret is the highest award for any mountain stormtrooper.
