Northern Oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

Explosive objects were destroyed in the Bila Tserkva raion today.

On Independence Day, the restored “Ruta” kindergarten, destroyed as a result of russian aggression, opened in Irpen. The President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, who was accompanied by the head of KOMA, Ruslan Kravchenko, visited the ceremonial opening. It was the Lithuanian partners who took over all the costs of rebuilding the kindergarten. The restored kindergarten has become even more modern and spacious. The third floor has been completed here, new spacious premises are equipped, a modern kitchen and a shelter are equipped. 500 children will be able to attend it.

On Ukraine’s Independence Day, the world’s largest mural based on Taras Shevchenko’s painting “Catherine” was opened in Irpen. The “Brave” Society was the initiator and sponsor of the creation of the mural. “Kateryna” was worked on by an artistic team led by the artist Kateryna Vedmid.

Leaders and representatives of the governments of European states paid an official visit to the region – President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gar Stere, President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, President of Hungary Katalin Novak and Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo. Also, the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the Chairman of the Presidium of the country Zeljko Komsic and member of the Presidium Denis Bechirovych, made their first visit to the Kyiv Oblast. The delegations visited the Church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called in Bucha – the place of mass burial of the people of Bucha. They visited the villages of Moschun and Zagaltsi, where the destroyed infrastructure and houses of the residents are being rebuilt.

Chernihiv Oblast

On August 24, the russians shelled the border communities of Chernihiv Oblast with mortars, barrel artillery, self-propelled guns and anti-aircraft guns. A house in the Novgorod-Siverskyi community was hit.

In Chernihiv, the number of people injured as a result of a rocket attack on the drama theater on August 19 increased to 208 people. 54 people are in hospitals, two are in serious condition.

Sumy Oblast

During the day of August 24, the russian military carried out 39 shelling of the Sumy region. 269 explosions were recorded. The Esman, Krasnopillya, Bilopilla, Khotyn, Shalygine, Znob-Novgorodskyi, Velikopysarivka, Seredino-Buda and Druzhbivka communities came under fire.

During the night and morning of August 25, the russians carried out 6 attacks on the Sumy region. Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novgorodske and Khotyn communities came under fire. 19 explosions were recorded.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

On the morning of August 25, the enemy shelled the village of Podoli, Kupyansk raion. A 59-year-old civilian man was injured and hospitalized.

During the past day, the russian occupiers continued shelling the civilian population of Bogodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuguiv, Izyum and Kupyansk raions of the Oblast.

In the village of Petropavlivka, Kupyansk raion, a private home was damaged, and a fire broke out.

3 private houses, power lines, a shop building were damaged and a private car was destroyed as a result of shelling from an anti-aircraft missile in the village of Yurchenkove, Chuguyiv raion.

In Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion, shelling damaged the building of a civilian enterprise and 3 private residential buildings, and a fire broke out. No casualties.

On the territory of the Kharkiv raion, about 22,000 damaged real estate objects were recorded, which are included in the register of damaged and destroyed property. Among them are 13,163 private residential buildings and about 3,000 apartment buildings.

Donetsk Oblast

During August 24, the russian army shelled residential areas of the Donetsk Oblast 16 times.

On August 24, five residents of the Donetsk Oblast were injured by shelling from the russian army.

Almost 82,000 houses have been destroyed or partially damaged due to hostilities in the territory of the Donetsk Oblast under the control of the Ukrainian authorities. 5,700 of them are apartment buildings.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk district

On the morning of August 25, the russian army launched a rocket attack on Malotaranivka of the Kramatorsk community.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsky district

In the Avdiyivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Avdiyivka, Donetsk Oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Keramik, Berdychi, Vodyane, Karlivka, Netaylove, and Nevelske of the Donetsk Oblast, were hit by artillery fire.

In the Mariinsky sector, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the north-east of Novomykhailivka and Maryinka in the Donetsk Oblast. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk Oblast. Zhelanne Pershe, Oleksandropil, Pobeda, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Illinka in the Donetsk Oblast came under artillery fire.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted air strikes in Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Bila Hora in the Donetsk Oblast. Over 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, and Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk Oblast. 

The President of Ukraine presented the Order of Courage, III Class, to Maryna Danyliuk, a dispatcher at the Toretsk fire and rescue unit of the State Emergency Service in Donetsk Oblast.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, Vuhledar came under an air strike and 29 artillery attacks. Maksymivka was shelled twice, a house was damaged in Novoukrainka.

Mariupol

Local publics in occupied Mariupol have posted information about the development of excursion routes. According to the invaders, “they will include a tour of architectural and cultural heritage monuments.”

Luhansk Oblast

In an attempt to achieve success, the enemy storms south of Svatove, namely in the area of Novoyehorivka. He retreats with significant losses and organizes another attempt to attack. The russians are also using aviation there. Strikes from the sky were recorded nearby, near Nadiya.

The occupants shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka with mortars and artillery of various calibers and types.

Starting from September 1, the invaders introduced full-time training in the frontline cities and districts using remote technologies. In particular, this will take place in Kreminna and Svatove Raions, as well as in Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, and Rubizhne.

Most of the population has no electricity supply. Mobile communications are cut off and people have no access to the Internet.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, on August 24, hostile artillery shelling was recorded in the city of Ochakiv. There were no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka Raions, the day and night were relatively calm.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Over the past day, russians fired 92 times at the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the shelling, 17 reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings, commercial structures, and infrastructure.

Russians are bringing people to the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region to vote in the “elections”. They are settled in abandoned houses of local residents. Pressure on the local population to obtain russian passports is also increasing. In particular, a requirement is being introduced that payment for utilities, internet, and mobile phones is impossible without russian citizenship.

A slight decrease in the water level was recorded in the ZNPP cooling pond. Today, on August 25, it is 16 m 12 cm. However, the situation remains stable and under control.

Odesa Oblast

On the night of August 25, russians attacked Odesa Oblast twice. Around midnight, two missiles, presumably X-35/X-59, were fired over the Black Sea by tactical aircraft in the direction of one of the ports. Air defense forces destroyed the missiles over the sea. A few hours later, a second attack took place. This time, from the Sea of Azov, the russians fired two Kalibr missiles toward the regional center. Air defense forces destroyed both missiles.

Kherson Oblast

In the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast, russian occupiers are lying to local residents to come to the so-called “elections”. They spread information about an “agreement” between Ukraine, Western partners, and russia that part of the Kherson Oblast will remain under russian occupation.

On August 22, the russian occupiers brought a large number of propaganda printed materials and ballots for the pseudo-elections on September 10, 2023, to the temporarily occupied Skadovsk. In Nova Kakhovka, Velyki Kopani, Skadovsk, and Hola Prystan, those who do not receive russian passports by September 1 are threatened with confiscation of property.

In the Kherson region, russian troops shelled Kreschenivka of the Novovorontsovka community. A farm building was damaged. No one was killed or injured.

In the village of Davydiv Brid in the Kherson Oblast, six houses that were damaged by russian shelling were repaired. Crews of construction workers from Ivano-Frankivsk dismantle destroyed roofs, repair facades, insulate houses and replace windows and doors as part of the «Side by Side» program.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

During the day of August 24, the russian army attacked the Nikopol raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast three times. There was no damage, no casualties or injuries.

On the night of August 25, russia attacked the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih raions of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In Nikopol, an agricultural enterprise and a power line were damaged due to shelling from Grads and heavy artillery. More than 700 families were left without electricity.

In the Zelenodolsk community of the Kryvyi Rih raion, a gas pipeline was mutilated due to shelling from heavy artillery.

On the evening of August 24, a trident and the inscription «Free. Strong. Unbreakable» were laid out with lighted candles near the building of the Oblast military administration in Dnipro. The campaign is dedicated primarily to Ukrainian military personnel.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Reconstruction is underway in Mala Oleksandrivka. At the same time, organizational work is starting as part of the second phase of the «Side by Side» program – restoration in 10 more villages of the Kherson Oblast.

In the square in front of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council, a patriotic installation «Indestructibility-32» was installed. The installation near the city council will operate for three days – until August 27.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the exhibition «Art born of war» was presented. This is an exhibition of 46 works by twenty artists from Kirovohrad Oblast and Kyiv. The paintings were created after the full-scale invasion of russia.

Poltava Oblast

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Poltava Oblast has been attacked by 148 enemy missiles and drones. Since February 24, 2022, 1,501 air alarms have sounded in the Oblast, lasting more than 1,420 hours.

Western Oblasts

Volyn Oblast

They want to rename seven more streets in Lutsk, the names of which are related to the soviet era.

In Lutsk, the dates of the race in embroidered shirts and the race «I honor the soldiers, I run for the Heroes of Ukraine» have been changed. The dates were moved in connection with the decision of the Defense Council of the Volyn Oblast to ban mass events during August 24-28. It was postponed to September 3.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

65 business ideas of Khmelnytskyi entrepreneurs have been approved as part of the government program «eRobota: Own Business». Including 6 participants in the hostilities will receive a grant for their own business. The winners will receive grants in the total amount of 16 million hryvnias.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

The Kamianets-Podilskyi community is one of the leaders in allocating funds for the needs of the Armed Forces from the local budget. This conclusion was made by the Committee of Voters of Ukraine. According to the decision of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council, assistance in the amount of 5 million hryvnias has been allocated from the local budget for the purchase of building materials and carrying out repair and construction works for the residents of Vysokopillia township of the Beryslav raion of the Kherson Oblast. The community actively helps the people of Kherson who suffered as a result of russian military aggression.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Mayor Mykhailo Positko thanked the military, police officers, and volunteers for their service and assistance to the community and the people of Ukraine at the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Culture House.

Chernivtsi Oblast 

Oleg Bleschuk from Zastavna received the Golden Cross medal from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny for conscientious and successful performance of combat tasks and high levels of combat training.

The commander of the 107th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of Bukovyna, Colonel Andriy Cisak, visited the units on the «Bakhmut direction», where he met with the military, presented the awards of the President of Ukraine and handed over quadcopters from volunteers.

«Country of indomitable people» is another event of educators of the Chernivtsi community to help soldiers. It was held on Independence Day and included a concert, a fair, master classes, an aqua painting and an exhibition of art works by Chernivtsi schoolchildren «Flowers of Victory». Thus, it was possible to collect 18 thousand hryvnias for treatment by the military.

Health care institutions and institutions of social protection of the population of Bukovyna received 60 generators with a capacity of 3 to 12 kW. The equipment arrived with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program in cooperation with the Department of Oblast Development of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration. Generators will help to provide institutions with backup sources of power supply for a stable passage of the autumn-winter period.
