Northern oblasts

Kyiv

This week, Kyiv will host a meeting of ambassadors to work on the Ukrainian peace formula.

A rally in support of the defenders of Mariupol was held on Independence Square. The rally was organized by the Community of Families of Captured Mariupol Residents. It is known that thousands of soldiers who have been defending that city for almost three months remain hostages of the russian federation.

Kyiv Oblast

More than 1,200 shelters have already been set up in educational institutions in the Kyiv Oblast. The Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, in cooperation with central and local executive authorities, is doing everything possible to ensure that the educational process begins on September 1 in the offline format, wherever possible due to security issues.

Zhytomyr Oblast

On the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders who died in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, a memorial site with a stele in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine was opened in Pulyny.

The pilots killed in the Zhytomyr region were promoted posthumously. Captain Andriy Pilshchykov was promoted to the rank of major, and Majors Viacheslav Mintsa and Serhiy Prokazin were both promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Chernihiv Oblast

On August 27 and 28, russians shelled three border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast: Semenivka, Snovsk, and Novhorod-Siversk. As a result of the shelling, a residential building caught fire in one of the settlements in the Snovsk Raion.

In Chernihiv, the number of those injured as a result of the russian missile attack on the drama theater on August 19 increased to 214 people.

On August 28, around 7:00 p.m., a car drove over a mine in the Chernihiv Oblast. As a result of the explosion, the patrolman and his wife were killed, and their two children were hospitalized.

In Novoselivka, energy-efficient houses are being erected for people who lost their homes during active hostilities. The project is financed by the Dutch fund.

Sumy Oblast

On August 28, the russian military shelled 9 communities in the Sumy Oblast with various weapons, including unguided air-launched missiles. Three people were wounded and several buildings were damaged.

In the evening of August 28, russians shelled the town of Seredyna-Buda. A private house and a library were damaged, and some neighboring houses were damaged by debris. Also, three civilians were wounded.

At night and in the morning of August 29, the russian army shelled four communities in the Sumy Oblast, a total of 46 explosions were recorded. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, the russian occupiers fired at settlements in the Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk raions, using artillery, mortars, and combat aircraft.

In the villages of Podoly, Kupiansk Raion, and Vovchanski Khutory, Chuhuiv Raion, grass was burning in the open area as a result of hostile shelling.

As a result of shelling of the village of Cherneshchyna, Izium Raion, a house and a garage of a private household were damaged. In the village of Kurylivka, Kupiansk Raion, a house was damaged.

In the village of Yavirske, Izium Raion, a remote-controlled T-150 tractor hit a mine and caught fire in a field during demining operations. There were no casualties.

No civilian casualties were reported over the day.

Over the past day, the bomb squad of the State Emergency Service surveyed more than 5.6 hectares of territory and defused 107 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

Over the course of August 28, the russian occupation forces attempted to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 15 times in the Bakhmut and Lyman-Kupiansk sectors.   

Russian troops bombarded residential areas of the Donetsk Oblast 15 times. Settlements were attacked with missiles, and the enemy also fired from Grad and Uragan MLRS.

On August 28, five people were killed and four more residents of the Donetsk Oblast were wounded in the shelling by the russian army.

In total, since February 24, 2022, the Russians have killed 1,672 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 4,047 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

At midnight, russians launched a missile attack on Druzhkivka, hitting the green zone.

In the Lysychansk sector, one person was killed in Lyman. In Siversk, houses on three streets were damaged.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Donetsk sector, 6 houses were damaged in Kurakhove.

In the Horlivka sector, 2 people were killed and 1 wounded in the Shakhove community.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Soledar community, Rozdolivka, Vasiukivka and Fedorivka came under enemy fire.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha direction, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Bohoiavlenka were under fire — without casualties.

Mariupol

Local residents are forced to get russian passports. After all, the russian occupiers are planning to hold “elections” soon. The local population is forced to do so by imposing strict conditions. Without it, it is impossible to get help, treatment, get a job, move freely, etc. Employees of the “budgetary” sphere are under special pressure. For example, teachers are threatened with dismissal. The so-called “activists” go to the houses of Mariupol people with limited mobility and issue them documents.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, August 28, enemy mortar and artillery shelling was recorded in the water area of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.

Also yesterday, the enemy attacked the city of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community with the “Grad” multiple launcher rocket system. As a result, the residential building was damaged. There were no casualties.

In the Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Last day, 30 settlements came under attack – the enemy carried out 91 shellings in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Information about the victims was not received, but infrastructure objects, residential and commercial buildings were damaged. There were 49 reports of destruction.

In the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, it is planned to announce the mandatory evacuation of children from the Vasylivka and Polohy raions. 54 children and 67 accompanying family members are expected to be displaced.

Odesa Oblast

In Odesa, at one of the city’s cemeteries, a consecration ceremony of the new Cossack Cross took place. The event took place on the Day of Remembrance of defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, the Odesa Raion, the Memorial Alley was opened to the soldiers who died in the russian-Ukrainian war. On the stands were placed photos of the military with information about them and the place of death.

An Odesa citizen, a member of “Anti-Maidan”, who has been fighting on the side of the terrorist “Donetsk people’s republic” since 2014, was sentenced in absentia to 14 years in prison. He took part in combat operations against the Ukrainian army near Izvaryne, Lutuhino and a number of other settlements in the Luhansk Oblast, as well as Vuhlehirsk in the Donetsk Oblast.

The front office of the “Hub Veteran” service center will be opened in Odesa by October 1. It will be placed on the basis of the Center for the provision of administrative services. The goal is to provide comprehensive social services to veterans. Here they will be consulted, their interests will be represented, organizational work will be carried out, etc.

Kherson Oblast

Russian troops shelled the Kherson Oblast 61 times over the past day. The invaders hit the buildings of preschool institutions in Kherson and the Beryslav Raion. One person died, four were injured.

The russian army shelled Stanislav in the Kherson Oblast. The center of the village was hit at least ten times.

The occupying authorities obliged the residents of the temporarily occupied Chaplynka in the Kherson Oblast to obtain russian passports by September 1. In case of non-compliance, they threaten to confiscate their houses.

“There will be no elections, but there will be a court and The Hague. Everyone who forces Ukrainians to participate in pseudo-elections will be held accountable.” Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement conducted a night raid through the streets of the temporarily occupied Henichesk. They hung more than 100 posters and tore down the flag of russia.

A water tower with a volume of 50 cubic meters was installed in Nova Kamianka. Thanks to the help of the “Rescue Now” charitable foundation, local residents receive drinking water.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Nikopol and the Marganets community were shelled by the russian army on the night of August 29. One of the shells fell on the territory of a private home. The roof of the house was damaged and the gas pipe was deformed. There were no dead or injured.

Four people were injured in a kamikaze drone attack in Nikopol on the afternoon of August 28. They will be treated at home. The administration building was damaged, 5 cars were mutilated. The russian army also covered the Marganets community, the Nikopol Raion, with artillery fire. Consequences are clarified.

In Dnipro, volunteers collect aid boxes for wounded soldiers. They have sports clothes, shoes, personal hygiene products, medicines and sweets. 300 such boxes have already been handed over to city hospitals.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In Ustinivka, the Kropyvnytskyi Raion, an Alley of Memory was set up. The place was chosen before the village council. Portraits of 44 soldiers, residents of the Ustynivka community who died since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2014, were installed there.

A trident was installed in Hurivka village of the Oleksandria Raion. Its height is 3 meters. The event was timed for Flag Day and Independence Day. Everything was done at the expense of local residents and entrepreneurs. This is the only and first trident in Ukraine, which was made by the method of cold metal forging.

Poltava Oblast

Three soldiers from the Poltava Oblast who died at the front last summer were awarded. Valentyn Marusenko from the Khorol community, Yury Movchan from the Hlobyne community, and Mykola Simperovych from the Sencha community were posthumously awarded the Order of “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.

A multimedia screen with fallen soldiers was installed in Pyriatyn. It shows photos and information about soldiers who died in the war.

The Poltava Oblast was the first in Ukraine to introduce a service for the social rehabilitation of veterans with disabilities together with their families: wives and children. This is a pilot project that is being scaled to the entire Oblast and the country in general. The first 15 families of war veterans with disabilities have already received such services within the regional comprehensive program.

They want to invest 13 million hryvnias in the overhaul of a dormitory for displaced persons in the Poltava Oblast. In January of this year, the social hostel in Hlobyne began to be prepared for occupancy. At that time, electrical networks and rooms were repaired there. Currently, the community is looking for a contractor to complete the overhaul.

The Center for Culture and Leisure invites residents of Poltava to watch the play “Azovstal. Voices”. The multimedia theater performance will take place on September 10. It tells the story of the 86-day defense of Mariupol, consisting of monologues about the spiritual values ​​of each person. In the play, the voices of the defenders are heard, reminiscent of specific characters: Ptashka, Orest, the helicopter Pilot and others.

Cherkasy Oblast

Serhiy Komyshny, a military man from the Zvenyhorod Raion, was awarded the “Cross of the Patriot ” medal of the Ukrainian Cossacks.

The Taras Shevchenko She.Fest festival took place in the village of Moryntsi of the Cherkasy Oblast, for the eighth time. This year it was created exclusively on a volunteer basis and to support the Armed Forces. We managed to collect more than 200,000 hryvnias, which will be used to purchase four drones and night vision devices for defenders from the village of Moryntsi, who are on the front lines.

Vinnytsia Oblast

A former militant of the so-called DNR was detained in Vinnytsia. He wanted to flee to the unrecognized Transnistria. The man is in custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

Western oblasts

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

The memorial service for the Ukrainian soldiers killed by the russian military was held on the Day of Remembrance of the fallen defenders of Ukraine in the Khmelnytskyi community by priests of four Christian denominations.

The number of beds in the medical rehabilitation department of Khmelnytskyi City Hospital has been increased from 30 to 60. From now on, the institution will receive twice as many patients for rehabilitation.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

The Kamianets-Podilskyi community is one of the leaders in Ukraine in terms of assistance to the military. Last year, UAH 22 million was allocated from the budget for the needs of the Armed Forces. This year – 70 million hryvnias, of which about 40 million hryvnias have already been used. In addition, residents of Kamianets actively participate in fundraising.

With community funds, 120 stationery packages were purchased for schoolchildren registered with the Children’s Service. These are orphans, deprived of parental care and children who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances.

Chernivtsi Oblast

The memorial complex, the symbolic Wall of Memory of Heroes, was opened in the central square of the city of Hertsa. Portraits and short biographies of compatriot servicemen who died fighting for Ukraine’s freedom from the russian invaders were placed here.

Soldier Mykola Zubal, a resident of the village of Korman in the Sokyriany Raion, was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.

Ivan Motsak’s family from the Sokyriany Raion donated a Nisan Navaro SUV for the needs of the army. The vehicle has already been delivered to its destination.

A charity fair was held in the Oleksiivka Starosta district, in the Sokyriany community. The raised money, which is almost 8,000 hryvnias, will be used for the needs of the soldiers.

The Khotyn community received a car equipped to transport people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities. Transport was handed over to the “Right to Defense” charity fund.

In the Chernivtsi Oblast, 80 percent of educational institutions will start the academic year offline, others will work in a mixed format.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In Nadvirna, in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, on the facade of Lyceum No. 3, a commemorative plaque to military serviceman Andriy Pryimak was unveiled. The soldier died in June 2023 in the Zaporizhzhia direction. 

Also, an annotation board to the fallen Hero, sergeant Vasyl Hutsuliak, appeared on the facade of Lyceum No. 22, where the soldier studied.

On behalf of the community and thanks to patrons, briefcases and certificates for stationery for children were distributed to school children whose parents died in the war between russia and Ukraine. In total, more than 300 children received help.

Ternopil Oblast

In 503 schools of the oblast, from September 1, children will study face-to-face. This decision was made after checking the shelters. In total, there are 651 schools in the Ternopil Oblast.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The Zakarpattia Oblast allocated UAH 24 million for the reconstruction of settlements in the Kherson Oblast that suffered as a result of hostilities.

In Mukachevo, an event called “Lekvar Peremogy” was held, during which traditional Zakarpattia plum jam was prepared. A jar of jam will be given for donations. The collected money will be used for the purchase of an anti-drone gun, which is needed by a unit where Zakarpattia residents serve.

In Uzhgorod, during the race “I respect soldiers, I run for the heroes of Ukraine”, it was possible to collect UAH 20,800 for the support of the Armed Forces.
