Kyiv

Utility companies of Zhytomyr began to install generators to be turned on in the event of a long-term blackout for the hour-by-hour supply of heat and water to the homes of citizens.

In October 2022, together with the Caritas-Spes Charity Foundation, the “Social Kitchen” project was launched in the Zhytomyr community, within the framework of which internally displaced and vulnerable persons are provided with free hot lunches. Partners from Italy provided equipment for the hot and cold sections of the kitchen, finance the costs of its maintenance and the purchase of products. It is planned to provide about 300 people with lunches daily.

Chernihiv Oblast

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded the representatives of local self-government of the Chernihiv Oblast with orders and medals.

Yesterday in the Chernihiv Oblast they said goodbye to soldier Andriy Sidorov, who was killed in action in the Donetsk Oblast.

Sumy Oblast

Yesterday two communities in Sumy Oblast came under enemy fire. During the day, russian troops carried out 55 fire attacks on the Khotyn and Shalyhyne communities. In both cases, there were no casualties or destruction.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded five residents of the Sumy Oblast with the Orders “For Courage”.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

During the day, the occupiers launched missile and artillery strikes on the Kupiansk, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Izium raions.

In Kupiansk, as a result of shelling by the russians, the warehouses of a food enterprise burned down. There were no casualties.

After 8:30 p.m., as a result of missile attacks, houses were damaged, and outbuildings and cars were on fire in the Bezliudivka community in the Kharkiv Raion.

Around 9 p.m. in the Pisochyn community, private households, roofs, and outbuildings were damaged by missiles.

According to emergency medical services, 3 people were hospitalized: 2 women aged 41 and 64, both are in the state of moderate severity, whereas a 40-year-old man is in serious condition. One injured person received medical assistance on the spot.

During the day, pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service eliminated 122 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

On December 8, it became known about 5 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast killed by russians: 3 in Bakhmut, 1 in Toretsk, and 1 in Netailove. Two more citizens of the oblast were wounded.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of the territory of Ukraine, 1,251 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast have been killed, and another 2,711 people have been wounded. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion there were sporadic and massive shelling of Avdiivka. The town of Hirnyk of the Kurakhove community also came under fire: 2 private houses were damaged. There were no casualties.

Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks by the russian invaders in the Maryinka area in the Donetsk Oblast.

Residents of the Pokrovsk community receive free bread as humanitarian aid. Today 4,000 loaves of bread were distributed to residents of the villages of Novoyelizavetivka, Novotroyitske, and Shevchenko. Such assistance was provided by international partners “ADRA Ukraine” and “World Food Program” (WFP) in cooperation with the heads of the Municipal Institution “Community Development Agency” and the Coordinating Committee of Self-Organization of the Population.

Sweets, 167 food and 160 hygiene kits were delivered to the Lisove starosta district of the Pokrovsk community. Such aid to the residents in need, as well as to the military, was provided by the American GEM Foundation.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

In the Horlivka direction, 1 person died and 3 were injured in the Toretsk community. The russians also caused serious damage in Kostyantynivka. 6 residential two-story buildings, a boiler room and a non-working hospital building were damaged. One person was injured.

LLC “Kramatorskteploenergo” temporarily stops the supply of heat due to constant power outages, which lead to the shutdown of the station. This causes hydraulic shocks in heating networks.

Southern Oblasts

Kherson Oblast

The russian occupiers shelled a hospital in Beryslav. Three russian shells damaged the roof of the therapeutic department and broke out windows in the buildings. Also, the economic building of the hospital was damaged.

In the morning, russian soldiers shelled a medical facility in Kherson, hitting the children’s department and the morgue. There were no casualties or injuries.

During the day, the russian military opened fire on Kherson Oblast 68 times with mortars, artillery, tanks and multiple launch rocket systems. Eight people were injured.

Volodymyr saldo, an illegal leader-collaborator of the Kherson Oblast, said that only the russian ruble will remain in circulation in the occupied territories from the beginning of the new year.

In the de-occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast, road workers cleared 190 kilometers of roads. They also restored passage over three destroyed bridges, connected some settlements and provided transport links with them.

As of December 9, 5,500 people used the free evacuation train from Kherson. Evacuation takes place constantly, there are no queues.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, the settlement of the Kutsurub community was hit by an enemy artillery attack. As a result, the infrastructure facility was damaged. There were no casualties.

Also yesterday at 1:10 p.m., 1:22 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:04 p.m., the enemy fired artillery at the settlement and the water area of the Ochakiv community. The farm and residential buildings (including one high-rise building), an infrastructure facility and a car were damaged. There were no casualties here either.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaiske, Voznesenske and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Emergency power outages continue to be used in Odesa Oblast. According to JSC “DTEK Odesa Electric Networks”, this is a forced step to balance the power system and avoid equipment breakdowns.

Three family-type houses moved to Odesa from the liberated Beryslav (Kherson Oblast). This is a total of 39 Ukrainians. The families were placed in a social dormitory, which was once created for adult orphans. An entire floor was set aside for them. Cherkasy Oblast

Deputy of the Kirovohrad Oblast Council Andrii Yarovyi was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the III degree. Currently, the elected official defends Ukraine at the front. Previously, he served in the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

Illia Kodak, a student of the Oleksandria Patriotic Sports Club “Zakhyst”, received the Order “For Courage” of the III degree. As a cadet of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, he defended Kharkiv from the russian invaders from the first hours of the war. Now Illia has returned to study at the academy, he is a 3rd-year student.

The Kropyvnytskyi Art Museum opened an exhibition of photos of the fallen soldiers of the Azov Regiment under the title “My heart is steel, my blood is Azov!” The organizers arranged an exhibition to show the faces of Ukrainian soldiers, to personalize the struggle for the native land. A total of 179 photos of fallen Azov fighters from different regions of Ukraine are presented, including five defenders from Kirovohrad Oblast. The personal belongings of the soldiers and the flags of the Azov Regiment became an important part of the exhibition. The exhibition has already been displayed in the Cherkasy Oblast Museum of Local History and in Germany.

Poltava Oblast

There are problems with electricity and the Internet in Kamianets-Podilskyi. There is only mobile Internet and only when there is light. Many shops and institutions use generators to carry out their work. And due to the lack of Internet, it is not possible to use bank cards. Therefore, long queues are formed at ATMs, the operation of which also depends on the availability of electricity.

From January to February 2023, the Kamianets-Podilskyi film “Fight for Ukraine” will be screened in Great Britain as part of the Ukrainian Film Festival in Great Britain “BIRDS” (PTAKH), which will take place in London, Brighton and Newhaven. The festival will take place with the support of local representatives of the cinematography, city authorities and members of the British Parliament.

Rivne Oblast
