Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau came to Kyiv and met with Vitaliy Klitschko. She assured that she would do everything possible to ensure that the partners continue to help Ukraine and Kyiv.

Starting today, new stabilization shutdown schedules are in effect in Kyiv. They have been developed taking into account the difficult situation in the energy system, which resulted from the recent terrorist attacks.

Kyiv Oblast

Mine clearance activities continue in the Kyiv Oblast. During the last day, explosive devices were found in Bucha and the village of Kopyliv, Bucha Raion. 15 items of unexploded ordnance were neutralized. 

12 apartment buildings are currently being restored in Borodianka. Among them are the houses on Kyivska Street, where the windows and doors are being replaced, and the roofs are being repaired.

Another house damaged during the war is being dismantled in Irpin.

Zhytomyr Oblast

At St. Michael’s Cathedral In Zhytomyr they said goodbye to two defenders of Ukraine, Denys Humyniuk and Volodymyr Melekhov. Both volunteered to join the Defense Forces in the early days of the full-scale war. They were killed in battles on the eastern borders of the country. Eternal glory and blessed memory to our Heroes.

Estonia has sent 11 more buses with generators and power equipment to Ukraine. All this was delivered to Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Bucha, and Poltava.

Sumy Oblast

During December 9, the russian military carried out 48 strikes on the border areas of the Sumy Oblast. The russian army shelled the Shalyhyne and Yunakivka communities.

Yesterday, around 9:00 p.m., the russian army launched a missile attack on the Velyka Pysarivka community. 20 private houses, an apartment building, a fire station, an executive office, a bank branch, 5 shops, and several cars were damaged.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The enemy continues shelling the settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast, which are located not far from the line of contact and the border with the russian federation.

During the day, the areas of Kupiansk, Zolochiv, Dvorichna, Strilecha, Berestove and other localities were shelled with artillery and mortars.

A fire broke out in warehouses in Kupiansk as a result of shelling. An administrative building in Zolochiv and an infrastructure facility in the Zolochiv community were damaged.

Mine clearance works continue. Over the last day, 122 explosive items were defused.

Donetsk Oblast

Russia continues to detain 150 Ukrainians in the penal colony in the village of Olenivka in the Donetsk Oblast. Among them are military personnel and civilians.

On December 9, it became known about 4 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast wounded by the russian military: two people in Bakhmut, one in Avdiivka, and one in Kostiantynivka.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,251 civilians of the Donetsk region, and wounded another 2,715. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Over the past day, the occupiers opened fire on the settlements in the east of the Pokrovsk Raion: the towns of Avdiivka, Hirnyk, Kurakhove, and the village of Kamianka. The enemy fired from aircraft, Grad multiple rocket launchers, artillery, mortars, and tanks. No information on casualties and damage has been received.

Avdiivka withstood the biggest number of strikes – eleven.

The situation in the Pokrovsk community is under the control of the Military Administration.

Over the past day, employees of the State Emergency Service were involved in the elimination of one fire. No casualties have been reported.

Another Hero of the Pokrovsk community was killed. 41-year-old Vitaliy Bartashevych defended the Ukrainian land from the russian aggressor from the first days of the war. His life ended during a fire clash with the invaders. The defender of Pokrovsk is survived by his wife and two minor children.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut sector, more than 20 settlements came under fire of the russian occupiers. Among them are Verkhniokamianske, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, Druzhba, and Zalizne in the Donetsk Oblast.

In the Horlivka sector, 2 people were wounded in Bakhmut. A house and a shop were damaged in the town. Sporadic shelling was recorded on the outskirts of the Toretsk and Soledar communities.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

During the day, explosions were heard, which are typical for air defense operations. The destruction was not officially reported.

Constant russian missile strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, and, as a result, emergency shutdowns and voltage drops, caused the shutdown of the TTP pumping stations. This also causes hydraulic shocks in the heating networks, which leads to the destruction of the equipment.

So far, the Kramatorsk Thermal Power Plant has suffered from emergency power outages three times. After the last shelling by the russian federation on Monday and a long emergency power outage, the coolant was drained from buildings with overhead heating. Employees of “Kramatorskteploenergo” are working to eliminate surges, after which the station will be restarted.  

The “Amazing Fish” aquarium in Kramatorsk lost four fish due to a blackout and, to prevent this from happening again, is raising money for a generator. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, hundreds of fish, whose owners were evacuated from Kramatorsk and could not take their pets with them, have found shelter in the aquarium. Currently, there are about half a thousand large fish in the “Amazing Fishes”. They live in six aquariums with a volume of two tons each. Due to problems with the energy infrastructure of the country, they were in danger of death.  

The team of the AUI “Active Community” in Kramatorsk received a package of sweets for St. Nicholas’ Day from Kramatorsk IT company “Quatr-Soft”, which continues to support the children who remain in the city. Gifts will be distributed among young Kramatorsk residents. 

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha direction, 3 houses were damaged in Vuhledar. The village of Novoukrainka was also shelled the day before. There were no casualties.

Luhansk Oblast

“Ukrposhta” [Ukrainian post operator] is ready to pay out pensions in the liberated settlements. Mobile communication has also been established there. Food is delivered to people, medical assistance is provided, and hygiene products are brought in.

The russians continue the forced integration of all spheres of life. In particular, entrepreneurs of the fake “Luhansk people’s republic” who do not register in the unified state register of the russian federation during December will not be able to use support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Such an incentive is provided only after registration. Accordingly, it is necessary to have an updated package of russian-style documents.

Southern Oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast 

Over the past 24 hours, on December 9, the russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the area of 16 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The police received 32 reports about the destruction of residential buildings.

On the night of December 9, the russian military attacked one of the communities in Zaporizhzhia Raion with S-300 missiles. As a result, the road between the two villages was destroyed.

The russian soldiers beat and took the head of the Department of Social Programs of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and his deputy to an unknown destination. The shift chief of the station, who is directly responsible for nuclear and radiation safety, was also detained.

Kherson Oblast 

According to the Kherson City Military Administration, as of December 9, 22 infrastructure objects, 26 educational institutions and 274 houses were damaged in the oblast center.

As a result of shelling by russian troops in Kherson and the oblast on December 9, two people were killed and eight were injured.

Russian occupiers shelled the maternity ward of the hospital in Kherson, the building was damaged. There were no injured or dead.

In the Kherson Oblast, pyrotechnicians have already demined 800 hectares of territory, including 200 kilometers of roads and 20 kilometers of power lines.

In the Kherson Oblast, the prosecutor’s office is investigating the fact of ecocide. In March, most of the 4 million chickens died in Chornobaivka due to power outages caused by russian shelling at the poultry factory. According to law enforcement officials, bacterial contamination of a large area could have occurred.

The municipal utility company “Kherson Vodokanal” received 10 generators. Powerful ones will be used on artesian wells, small ones – for emergency water supply and drainage teams.

The library “Lviv Polytechnic” transferred more than 300 books to the libraries of Kherson. The transfer took place as part of the “Ukrainian book for the Ukrainian Kherson Oblast” support campaign.

Mykolaiv Oblast 

According to the information of the Air Command “South” of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of December 10, their units shot down ten enemy kamikaze drones “Shahed-136/131”, four of them – over Mykolaiv Oblast.

Today, the enemy attacked the water area of the Ochakiv community with multiple launch rocket systems. There were no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaiske, Voznesenske and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Odesa Oblast

At night, the enemy attacked the south of the country with kamikaze drones. Continuing man-made terror targeted energy infrastructure facilities in the Odesa Oblast, causing significant destruction and leaving thousands of consumers without electricity. There is no information about the victims. The work of rescue and recovery services continues.

According to DTEK “Odesa Electric Grids”, currently the situation with electricity supply in the oblast and the city of Odesa is difficult. Due to the scale of the destruction of the energy infrastructure in Odesa, all consumers, except for critical infrastructure, have been disconnected from electricity. The city has water supply and drainage. All municipal utilities work 24 hours a day. Eleven district boiler houses and most of the small ones are working. Hospitals and maternity homes are provided with electricity and water. All “Points of Invincibility” are open.

Air defense forces shot down four “Shahed-136” over the Kherson Oblast, four over the Mykolaiv Oblast and two over the Odesa Oblast.

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

On the night of December 10, russian troops shelled the Nikopol Raion of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, wounding four people. In particular, rescuers took an elderly couple out of a burning apartment. They are reated at home. Two more elderly people were taken to a hospital with mine-explosive injuries.

30 veteran entrepreneurs from all over Ukraine received additional financing for their business. For this, applications had to be submitted on the website, the winners were chosen by an expert commission. Two military men from Dnipro also received money. They make special mattresses and airtight bags for the military. 

More than 500 employers of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast received compensation for employing immigrants.

14 more “points of invincibility” were opened in Dnipro.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, they said goodbye to 24-year-old Valentyn Pogribny, who died in the russian-Ukrainian war near Bakhmut of the Donetsk Oblast. 

Power cuts led to interruptions in the operation of gas stations in the city of Novoukrainka. Because of this, from December 10, buses stopped running in the city and the suburban route “Novoukrainka-Novooleksandrivka-Zvirivka” was suspended. The government promises to eliminate the problem in 2-3 days.

The “Dnipro-Kirovohrad” enterprise received 60 water tanks from the international fund UNICEF. They will be used in case of water supply interruptions. One tank holds a thousand liters of water. The tanks will be installed in all micro-districts of Kropyvnytskyi.

Poltava Oblast

In the Poltava Region, they said goodbye to Major Igor Pugach from the village of Pryshyb. He was born in 1979, lived and served in Kremenchuk. The officer died on June 29 as a result of shelling in the village of Bilohorivka of the Luhansk Oblast. Eternal glory to the Hero.

The government will allocate 100 million hryvnias to restore the heat supply system in Kremenchuk.

Maps of two villages in the Poltava Oblast lost the Suvorov Street . Now the Vyshneva and Kozatska streets have appeared in Popivka and Dibrivka.

Western oblasts

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, the body of soldier Ihor Ivanykovich was reburied in the village of Topilske. The soldier died in the Kherson Oblast in the first month of the russian federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He was buried in occupied Kherson. In nine months, the parents returned their son’s body home.

The heads of 62 territorial communities of Prykarpattia collected 300,000 hryvnias and bought a drone with night vision for the military. 

The Otyniia and Hvizdets communities of the Kolomyia Raion converted a truck trailer into a bathhouse on wheels. The mobile shower complex was handed over to the soldiers of the 77th Territorial Defense Battalion on the front line.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, 40 gifted students will receive a scholarship from the city council. Graduates will be given 2,000 hryvnias each month during the academic year, the rest will receive 1,000 hryvnias each month.

Rivne Oblast

In the north of the Rivne Oblast, a tractor trailer was blown up by a mine. Previously, local residents were dealing with illegal logging. People were not injured during the incident, the driver and passenger of the tractor were detained.

In addition to local residents, more than 3,500 displaced persons have applied to the Free Legal Aid Center in Rivne since the beginning of the full-scale war. In particular, people are interested in how to terminate an employment contract, issue a certificate of an internally displaced person, and document the fact of the death of a relative.

Chernivtsi Oblast

The famous Chernivtsi musician Sasha Buhl received the Honorary Badge of the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “For Service”. Sasha Buhl is a Ukrainian singer, composer, songwriter in the genre of country and indie folk. He joined the army in the first days of March. This is where he got the nickname “Banjo”. Oleksandr Buhl is currently the deputy chief of staff.

In Bukovina, 49 families of displaced persons received household appliances from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). These include, in particular, family-type children’s homes, foster families, families of guardians/custodians, as well as foster homes. Refrigerators, washing machines, slow cookers, microwaves and kettles were given to them. Heaters and sleeping sets have also been delivered to the families of forced migrants currently living in the oblast.

Zakarpattia Oblast

An educational hub for work and study was opened today in Uzhhorod. This was done in the frames of “Education without Limits” project, which is part of the UN Program for Reconstruction and Peacebuilding. There are three such hubs for forced migrants in Ukraine: in Lviv, Truskavets, and Uzhhorod.

In Uzhgorod, the championship of Ukraine in swimming among people with hearing impairments took place. For this category of athletes, it is not just a sport, but a way to experience a full life. More than seven dozen participants from 13 oblasts of the country competed for the championship.
