Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko discussed further assistance to Ukraine with Boris Pistorius in Munster. The emphasis was placed on long-range weapons, which our state is so much looking forward to.

The German company Quantum Systems will provide Kyiv with 100 new-generation tactical drones that have already been tested in Ukraine. The capital will send the equipment to Ukrainian defenders at the front.

A rally in memory of Heorhiy Honhadze and all murdered Ukrainian journalists was held in Kyiv. The rally is timed to the 23rd anniversary of the murder of Ukrainian journalist Heorhiy Honhadze.

Kyiv Oblast

Residential buildings damaged by the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine are being actively restored in the Kyiv Oblast. Among the damaged houses undergoing reconstruction at the expense of the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression, there is an apartment building in Irpin at 2k Universytetska Street. As of today, repair and construction works there have already begun. In particular, they restore the destroyed internal structures and facades, carry out external and internal finishing of the house, insulate the building and perform other works.

The South Korean government will build a wastewater treatment plant for the Bucha community in the Kyiv Oblast as part of the Ukraine recovery program. The Korean side plans to start designing in early 2024. Currently, all the community’s wastewater is directed to Kyiv – to the Bortnychi aeration station.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Andriy “Lefty” Verkhohlyad, a commander of the 72nd Detached Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhians, Hero of Ukraine from the Zhytomyr Oblast, who fell in the battles for Ukraine in 2022, was posthumously awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Boryspil. The award was presented to the Hero’s family.

Chernihiv Oblast

On September 15, the russian military shelled three border communities of the Chernihiv Oblast with a helicopter and an automatic mounted grenade launcher

Sumy Oblast

On September 15, the russian military carried out 9 shelling attacks on the border areas of the Sumy Oblast. 73 explosions were recorded. As a result of the attacks, seven private houses, three outbuildings, and a garage were damaged.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, the russian occupiers shelled the settlements in the Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, and Izium raions.

The settlements of Strilecha in the Kharkiv Raion and Kotliarivka in the Kupyansk Raion were subjected to enemy airstrikes. Kupiansk came under artillery fire yesterday.

As a result of a guided aerial bomb strike on the village of Kopanky, Izium Raion, a private residential building was completely destroyed, and two more houses were partially ruined. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

In the village of Symynivka, Chuhuiv Raion, an educational institution was damaged by hostile shelling.

No civilian casualties were reported over the past day.

Mine clearance continues. Over the past 24 hours, pyrotechnic units of the oblast surveyed 6.6 hectares of territory and defused 75 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

Over the past day, the enemy attacked the Donetsk Oblast 11 times; the police recorded the consequences of russian strikes. No one was killed or wounded on September 15.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Yesterday, the enemy bombarded Kostiantynivka with artillery. The shells hit 4 private houses.

Today, after midnight, , the village of Zarichne came under fire from russian attackers. A civilian was wounded, and a private house was damaged.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Over the past day, the russian occupiers periodically shelled Avdiivka.

Centralized water supply is being restored in the Selydiv community of the Pokrovsk Raion of the Donetsk Oblast. The community includes nine settlements that were left without water due to shelling by russian troops. Four of them already have water on schedule.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

As a result of the shelling, at least three private houses were damaged in the village of Druzhba, and an apartment building was damaged in Chasiv Yar.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

The russian occupiers struck Vuhledar ten times. 

Novoukrainka was bombarded by russia with Hrad MLRS. An apartment building was damaged.

Luhansk Oblast

After a significant failure near Novoyehorivka and several more attempts to attack in different directions, the russians have focused on raising the reserve. On the ground, they have not conducted offensive actions in recent days. Instead, they increased the intensity of air raids. Under enemy’s pressure from the sky there are Novoselivske, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka. Air strikes occur daily in some settlements.

Nevske and Bilohorivka suffered from artillery and mortar fire.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

As of 07:30 on the morning of September 16, no enemy shelling was recorded on the territory of the Mykolaiv Oblast.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian army fired 54 times on the cities and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday, on September 15: two aerial shells were fired at Orikhiv; MLRS fired at Novodarivka, Huliaipilske, Novoivanivka and Levadne; 48 artillery strikes hit the territory of more than ten settlements.

Women aged 71 and 53 were injured as a result of an airstrike by the russian army in Orikhiv yesterday.

Odesa Oblast

Two bulk carriers have confirmed their readiness to use the temporary corridor to enter Chornomorsk port. They plan to load almost 20,000 tons of wheat for countries in Africa and Asia.

In Odesa, for the third week in a row, people are coming to the city council building with posters. They oppose tenders that they consider inappropriate in wartime. In particular, it is about the reconstruction of the Kyiv District Court and the restoration of the Theater of the Young Spectator. In their opinion, money from the city budget should be sent to help the army.

Kherson Oblast

During September 15, the russian army struck the Kherson Oblast 69 times with various types of weapons. It shelled residential quarters and hit the territory of an enterprise in Kherson. There are no casualties or injuries.

At night, the russian army shelled Olhivka in the Kherson Oblast A critical infrastructure object was damaged, due to which water supply to the settlement was temporarily stopped.

Today, the russian military shelled Beryslav in the Kherson Oblast. They shot into a high-rise building. A woman is injured in her own apartment. She was hospitalized.

September 16 is Kherson City Day. This is the only regional center that was captured by the russian invaders in February 2022. Thanks to resistance, mutual help, faith in victory, its residents survived eight months of occupation.

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The russian army shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery. On the evening of September 15, it hit Nikopol, and on the morning of the 16th, it hit the Marganets community. The consequences of the shelling are being clarified. There are no dead or injured.

Almost 12,500 displaced people used the services of the employment service of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast during the full-scale invasion. 3.8 thousand migrants are employed. Another 4,200 received jobs thanks to compensation payments to employers.

For two days, with a bullet in his heart, a soldier with the call sign Tuz from the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast went to his fellow soldiers. A man was wounded during the liberation of the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Having put on a tourniquet, he went to his people. Thoughts about three daughters helped to survive.

Kirovohrad Oblast

During the “Unite for Victory” action in Kropyvnytskyi, from the “Guardian Angel” sign to the “Fortress Ramparts” memorial complex, the townspeople formed a “living chain of Unity”, which was dedicated to those who died in the russian-Ukrainian war and to the Day of the city. 2,200 people took part in the action. The length of the “living chain” is 2.5 km.

Poltava Oblast

Dmytro Horishnii from Poltava produces mobile field simulators for training grenade launchers and operators of anti-tank systems. Currently, he is working on the launch of serial production of training anti-tank missile systems “Fagot”, manual anti-tank grenade launchers-7 and portable anti-tank missile systems “Javelin”.

Deputies of the Poltava City Council during the session appealed to the Verkhovna Rada and the President regarding restrictions on the activities of the Ukrainian orthodox church of the moscow patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine. The decision was supported by 26 out of 27 elected officials.

In the village of Chornukhy, the local religious community is transitioning from the Ukrainian orthodox church of the moscow patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This is the 13th community in the oblast that joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Cherkasy Oblast

Despite the war, more than 37,000 pilgrims came to Uman to celebrate the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. A coordination headquarters consisting of representatives of the National Police, National Guard, rescuers and others works around the clock. Also on duty are the police of the State of Israel, who have come to strengthen security measures and help tourists.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

Protesters came to the Lviv Oblast Military Administration. People demanded an end to all non-critical spending. In particular, the money for the construction of stadiums, the laying of paving stones and the repair of roads should be directed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A nine-year-old volunteer from Lviv, Yurii Napora, received a certificate from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, “For active citizenship, patriotism, and assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which brings Victory over the enemy closer.”

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

The President awarded Serhii Kosar, a rescuer from the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, with the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree. Together with his colleagues, he clears the territories of Ukraine freed from russian troops.

More than UAH 88,000 were collected today during the “Brotherhood of Steel” charity run, which was held in the Khmelnytskyi Arboretum. More than half a thousand Khmelnytskyi residents took part in the race.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Military personnel Pavlo Yurchuk from Zadubrivka and Volodymyr Berezovskyi from Vaslovivtsi were awarded the “Golden Cross” of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the Chernivtsi City Council, 12 military servicemen were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.

A round table was held at the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration to study the issue of strengthening dialogue, interaction, international relations, and the role of national minorities during the war.

4,983 owners of residential premises in Bukovyna who sheltered internally displaced persons received payments for January-May 2023. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, funds have been paid in the total amount of UAH 51.2 million.

To ensure comfortable conditions for children in bomb shelters during air alerts, 258 bio toilets from the organization “Save the Children” were handed over to educational institutions of the oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In Dolyna, the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, a memorial plaque was opened to the fallen serviceman of the 102nd brigade Yurii Slivchuk with the call sign “Multik”.

There are 1,087 free places for internally displaced people in shelters in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. There are 88 shelters in the oblast, 18 are still undergoing renovations. Until October 1, 2023, the inspection of shelters will continue to see if they meet the new requirements, so their number may decrease.

Ternopil Oblast

In the Ternopil Oblast, in the village of Pechorna, memorial plaques were opened to the fallen soldiers Yurii Bezkorovainyi and Andrii Melenichuk. Yurii Bezkorovainyi died in December 2022 during mortar fire near Bakhmut. Andrii Melenichuk died in September 2022 during offensive operations near the city of Lyman. He had a wife and two children.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Ukrainian defenders are undergoing complex rehabilitation after serious injuries in the Protez Foundation clinic in the Svaliava community. Here, the functions of arms or legs are restored, and soldiers are also returned to a full life. The oblast rehabilitation center is an example of cooperation between the community, international partners, doctors, entrepreneurs, representatives of various associations and organizations.
