Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Yesterday, wind gusts damaged the suburban train station in Kyiv. Utility workers and rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather.

Kyiv Oblast

Work continues in the Kyiv Oblast to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster that raged in the oblast since the night of October 27.

They started to plant a new forest near the Hostomel airport. A total of 4,500 oak and pine saplings have been planted in the thoroughly surveyed and prepared areas.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In Zhytomyr, IDPs from the Kherson Oblast joined an eco-cleanup action and helped to clean the city’s green areas for free.

Chernihiv Oblast

On October 28, russians shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast five times. Border guards recorded 40 explosions. The Snovsk and Horodnia communities came under fire.

Sumy Oblast

During the day, the russian military shelled four communities in the Sumy Oblast; 9 explosions were recorded.

At night, the russian army shelled the Seredyna-Buda community. There was one explosion caused by a mortar shell.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Six russian attacks were repelled by the Defense Forces near Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Petropavlivka in the Lyman-Kupiansk sector on October 28. The occupiers began to use fewer drones in this area due to deteriorating weather conditions. The Russian military fired 355 times at Ukrainian positions, carried out four airstrikes and used one kamikaze drone.

Today, the russian federation carried out an airstrike near Synkivka in the Kupiansk sector.

In Kharkiv, the flag of Ukraine was replaced and raised on a 100-meter flagpole. The wind tore two flags during the bad weather on October 28.

Donetsk Oblast

The night in the Donetsk Oblast was relatively quiet, with no reports about the dead or wounded.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,753 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 4,276 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

On October 29, in the Donetsk Oblast, power supply was restored to 27 settlements for more than 11,000 families. Work is underway to restore electricity to 17,000 homes.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

In the Lysychansk sector, a house in Siversk was damaged, and eight shelling attacks on the Lyman community were recorded.

The russians have concentrated their assault forces on the eastern front. Air and artillery strikes are being carried out in the Lyman sector.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Donetsk direction, Novomykhailivka and Maksimilianivka were shelled in the Marinka community. In the morning, Avdiivka was subjected to massive artillery shelling.

In the morning, the russian army launched a powerful artillery barrage on Avdiivka. Also, during the past day, Chasiv Yar came under fire from the occupiers, and four policemen were wounded.

On October 28, a family with a child was evacuated from Ocheretyne in the Donetsk Oblast. Two more children remain in the village. They must leave it accompanied by one of their parents or a legal representative.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Horlivka direction, a house in the Chasiv Yar community and power lines in the Toretsk community were damaged.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha direction, the russians fired at Vuhledar with mortars, Grad MLRS, and grenade launchers.

Luhansk Oblast

During the week, almost 400 displaced people from the Luhansk Oblast received aid by mail. Through the branch of “Ukrposhta”, the hub of the Popasna community in Cherkassy processed the shipment of 391 parcels. Also, 679 food kits were issued in the hub to residents of the Luhansk Oblast.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast 

During the day, the russian army fired artillery at the water area and the settlement of the Kutsurub community.

On the night of October 29, the air defense forces destroyed two attack drones over the Mykolaiv Oblast.

Also, on the night of October 29, the russian army shelled the water area and the city of Ochakiv with artillery. There are no injured or dead.

On October 29, a gratitude run was held in the German city of Düren, in which 35 Ukrainians and Moldovans participated. In particular, the people of Mykolaiv took part. They ran for all the heroes who defended and continue to defend Ukraine.

A charity concert and fair in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place in Mykolaiv. Volunteers raised 6.5 thousand hryvnias.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

133 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia Oblast were carried out by the russian army in the past day. 20 towns and villages in the line of fire were affected. Three residential buildings were damaged by enemy shells. Civilians were not injured.

Two houses were on fire in Orihiv as a result of russian shelling yesterday, October 28. There are no casualties or injuries.

Air defense was working in the Oblast at night. Enemy drones were shot down.

The fourth and fifth power units are in a state of “hot shutdown” at the temporarily seized ZNPP. In addition, the occupiers intend to assemble the third power unit, which is currently under repair. Assembling the third power unit is contrary to the terms of the license for safe operation.

In Zaporizhzhia, the church of the holy apostles Peter and Paul, which was destroyed by a russian rocket on August 9 this year, is being rebuilt. The roof has already been repaired, the walls restored and the dome installed. While the repair work is in progress, services are held in the open air.

Odesa Oblast 

The russian army reduced the number of ships on duty in the Black Sea to two due to the storm. One of them is the Kalibr missile carrier, on which four missiles are aimed.

Construction of the first of two planned modular towns for internally displaced persons has begun in Odesa. Each such town is designed for 25-30 houses. Modular towns are being built for immigrants who work in the municipal utility sector.

Kherson Oblast

Over the past 24 hours, the russian army fired 301 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRS, tanks, drones and aircraft in the Kherson Oblast. 28 hits of guided air bombs were recorded in the Beryslav and Kherson raions. An educational institution in Beryslav is damaged. Five people were injured.

At night, the russian military dropped four guided aerial bombs on Novobertslav of the Kherson Oblast. There are destroyed houses, no dead or injured.

Today, the russian army attacked the Dniprovskyi District of Kherson. The car was damaged, the driver was not injured.

In the afternoon, the russian army launched an artillery attack on Novoberyslav in the Kherson Oblast. A man, who was outside during the attack, is wounded. He was hospitalized in serious condition. The victim had an explosive and open craniocerebral injury, a shrapnel wound to the head.

The enemy shelled Khreshchenivka of the Kherson Oblast. Five hits were recorded. Agricultural machinery and a private car are damaged, power lines are broken. Currently, the village is partially without electricity. There are no casualties or injuries. 

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

russian troops attacked Nikopol with artillery four times on the night of October 29. One and a half dozen shells were fired in the Nikopol and Myrove community. A state institution, a private enterprise, and six houses were damaged. There are no dead or injured.

98 objects damaged as a result of shelling by the russian army were repaired in Nikopol in 10 months of this year. Currently, there are still 93 objects in operation. In 2022, 37 million UAH were allocated for restoration works from the city budget, in 2023 – 14 million UAH.

Kirovohrad Oblast

UAH 500,000 was allocated to defenders for the purchase of a Dji Mavic 3T quadcopter and a set of military training equipment at a session of the Pryiutivka Settlement Council, the Oleksandria Raion. Deputies introduced corresponding changes to the budget. The equipment will be used in the Donetsk direction.

Cherkasy Oblast

Khrystynivka police officers helped volunteers buy necessary things for the military. This time, the law enforcement officers transferred more than UAH 15 thousand for the purchase of wax for the manufacture of trench candles, fabric for camouflage nets and the necessary medicines.

Poltava Oblast

The enemy again carried out a missile attack on the Myrhorod Raion. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties and no damage to civil infrastructure.

In Poltava, wives of soldiers of various brigades are asking to demobilize their husbands after 18 months of service. The women went to the Poltava City Council. Currently, negotiations are ongoing, representatives of the authorities are answering the wives’ questions.

Before the start of hostilities in 2014, Ihor Shostak, an IDP from the Luhansk Oblast, was successfully engaged in tailoring. Due to the occupation, he was forced to leave, losing his equipment. In Kremenchuk, he started developing his own business from scratch. He took advantage of the regional program to support internally displaced persons. The businessman received 50% reimbursement for the cost of the equipment and 100% for the rent of the premises. The company specializes in the production of underwear, pajamas and T-shirts. Currently, its customers are a French company and well-known Ukrainian manufacturers.

Vinnytsia Oblast

In 4 years, 20 tons of garbage were collected, sorted and handed over for recycling by the volunteers of the Vinnytsia ecoshuttle. The money collected for the processing of recycled materials is now used to help the army – volunteers buy and repair cars and help hospitals.

Western Oblasts

Volyn Oblast

Fighters of the Kamin-Kashyrskyi Battalion of the Territorial Defense of Volyn received awards from the command for the successful execution of combat missions in the east of Ukraine. During the seven months of fighting on the front line, the military “did not surrender a single position and improved its tactical position”.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

At night in the sky over the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, air defense was working. There was no damage to civil infrastructure and no casualties as a result of the explosions.

Ternopil Oblast

A dialogue platform “I am Mariupol: I have the right to be reborn” was held in Ternopil. The participants discussed what Mariupol should look like after reconstruction so that people would return there. Proposals submitted during the discussion will be considered when completing the Mariupol Reborn City Revitalization Plan. Experts, architects and urban planners are working on its development.

The Chortkiv community in the Ternopil Oblast was officially accepted into the European Association of Energy Cities. The decision was made during the international conference “Cities for creation: Cultivating our common future”, which took place in the Italian city of Modena.

Members of the Ternopil branch of the Union of Ukrainian Youth joined the charity run “The longest marathon in the world”. On their numbers, the participants wrote the names of servicemen to whom they dedicated their participation in the event.

Zakarpattia Oblast

On October 28, 5,000 oak seedlings were planted in the Berehove Raion as part of the “Million Trees of Memory and Life” campaign.
