Northern oblasts
Kyiv
On November 21, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Dignity and Freedom. This day, nine years apart, two historic revolutions began in the country: The Orange Revolution in 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity in 2013.
President of Moldova Maia Sandu arrived in Kyiv. Together with President Zelenskyy and the First Lady, they honored the memory of those killed during the Revolution of Dignity.
German Defense Minister Pistorius came to Kyiv on an unannounced visit. He announced a new aid package for Ukraine. In particular, it will include four IRIS-T systems, artillery ammunition, and anti-tank mines.
The book “Never Give Up!” by Natalia Buzhynetska was presented in the capital. The book describes 10 real-life stories of children who underwent physical rehabilitation during cancer treatment and returned to full-fledged life.
Kyiv Oblast
A new bridge was opened across the Irpin River in Romanivka. It was built next to the bridge that was destroyed as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion. In 2022, during the invasion of the occupiers, almost 40 thousand residents of the Irpin area escaped through it.
A center for socialization of IDPs is being prepared for opening in the village of Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. It will house 19 IDP families. People will be accommodated in the former dormitory building that was renovated by local authorities and philanthropists.
Children’s drawings and wishes are being collected in the Irpin community in the Kyiv Oblast until December 4. They will be sent to the military at the front to congratulate them on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zhytomyr Oblast
In the first 9 months of 2023, Zhytomyr spent 246 million hryvnias from the local budget to finance the territory improvement and landscaping, and 547 million hryvnias to support the territorial defense forces.
The Zhytomyr Drone information platform was created in Zhytomyr. It will allow people to choose a drone for further self-assembly or to donate to the purchase of a drone.
Chernihiv Oblast
During the day of November 20, russian troops fired five times with unguided air missiles from helicopters and mortars at three border communities of the Chernihiv Oblast, and also launched kamikaze drones. A total of 39 explosions were recorded.
Chernihiv drivers are leaving at night and driving for four hours, risking to come under hostile fire, to bring bread for the residents of the border town of Semenivka, which is being shelled by russians.
Sumy Oblast
During the day, the Russian army shelled the Sumy Oblast 13 times. A total of 88 explosions were recorded. As a result of the russian strike on November 20, one apartment building and two private houses, a summer kitchen and a garage were damaged in the town of Seredyna-Buda, Sumy Oblast, by unguided aircraft missiles.
In the morning of November 21, the russian army shelled the Shalyhyne community in the Sumy Oblast. Two mortar explosions were recorded.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Today at 6 am, the village of Kozacha Lopan was shelled by russian troops. Rescuers found the body of a 29-year-old man while extinguishing the fire in the house. Th local authorities are urging residents of the border village of Kozacha Lopan to evacuate.
Despite the snow and frost, russians continue to storm the positions of the Ukrainian military in the Kupiansk sector. They began to transport infantry on tanks and combat armored vehicles, and use former prisoners for new assaults.
Donetsk Oblast
On November 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 17 attacks by the russian occupation forces in the Lyman-Kupiansk and Bakhmut sectors.
Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,776 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 4,325. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
In the Lysychansk sector, a house in Serebrianka of the Siversk community was damaged, and the Lyman community was shelled 4 times.
Russian troops are preparing for new attacks, bringing up reserves and regrouping in the Lyman sector of the front.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Horlivka sector, two private houses and three non-residential buildings were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the Donetsk direction, one person died in Mykhailivka of the Novohrodivka commznity. The russians targeted the territory of the mine, damaging seven buildings, 14 cars, and five buses.
On the night of November 21, russian troops struck Selydovo, damaging the city hospital, the mine building, and other civilian infrastructure. As of 4:00 p.m., two people died and eight were injured. Search operations are ongoing. After the night rocket attack, 28 seriously ill patients were evacuated from the hospital, 90 were discharged under the supervision of family doctors. A miner, a resident of the town of Novohrodivka of the Pokrovsk Raion, died as a result of shelling at the mine.
russian troops are trying to attack the industrial zone in Avdiivka with equipment, and they are engaging infantry groups on the flanks. 1,383 people remain in the city, evacuation continues: on November 20, nine citizens left.
Southern oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
On the night of November 21, russian troops carried out artillery strikes on the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties or injuries.
In the village of Kozyrka of the Radisny Sad community, a local resident died due to the detonation of an ammunition. The man found a shell in the pasture and tried to disassemble it.
On the occasion of the Day of Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on November 21, the mayor presented 15 awards “For the Defense” of Mykolaiv to servicemen of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade. Three awards were posthumously awarded to the families of fallen soldiers.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
19 settlements came under fire. The enemy made 107 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Ten reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. Residents of peaceful communities were not injured.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the russian army conducted assault operations near Robotyne and northwest of Verbove, but had no success.
Odesa Oblast
On the night of November 21, one attack drone was destroyed over Odesa by the forces and means of air defense of the “Southern” air command.
Three hectares of forest were planted near the village of Yasky in the Odesa Oblast, local residents helped plant the trees. In total, the Odesa Forestry should plant 665 hectares of forest. Currently 406 have been planted.
Kherson Oblast
The army of the russian federation shelled the Kherson Oblast 44 times during the past day with various types of weapons. Two people died, three were injured.
A 65-year-old man was wounded as a result of the morning shelling of Kherson by russian troops. He is being treated. Another 59-year-old man was hospitalized with a mine-explosive injury.
After lunch, the russian military dropped explosives from a drone on Beryslav. A car was damaged. The injured man was hospitalized.
The occupation head of the village of Rykove is suspected of collaborationism. The 58-year-old woman organized the work of an illegally created authority, and transmitted information about the number of residents of the settlement to the so-called “Genichesk Military-Civil Administration”. She faces up to ten years in prison.
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of November 21, russian troops fired heavy artillery at one of the villages of the Marganets community of the Nikopol Raion. There are no dead or injured.
In the evening of November 20, military personnel from the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a russian missile over the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Due to reports of landmines, the police inspected 130 schools in Dnipro and surrounding areas. The information turned out to be false, no explosives were found.
Poltava Oblast
A “charity flea market” will be held in Poltava for St. Nicholas Day. On December 3rd, at the event, it will be possible to buy and sell used things in good condition – Christmas tree toys, decorations, table toys, interior items, etc. All funds raised during the event will go towards the purchase of a DJI Mavic 3 quadcopter and an antenna with an amplifier for working with drones.
Vinnytsia Oblast
The Security Service of Ukraine detained the abbot of one of the churches of the Vinnytsia diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He campaigned against Ukraine during sermons and denied russia’s armed aggression.
Kirovohrad Oblast
At the next session of the Svitlovodsk City Council, it is planned to allocate UAH 1 million 250 thousand for the support of two military units, namely for the purchase of DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters with night vision cameras and a universal modular system. In total, this year the Svitlovodsk community financed military units in the amount of UAH 4 million 818 thousand.
An active process of creating a network of mobile fire groups to combat the “Shahed” drones is underway throughout the country. The Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, raions, communities, and local businesses participate in this collection. The Kropyvnytskyi City Council allocated UAH 11.7 million for the staffing of these divisions.
“Pixel magicians” from the Bobrynets special school in the Kropyvnytskyi Raion sew sleeping bags, belt-shoulder systems, and first aid kit bags for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The students of the school have already managed to sew 10 belt-shoulder systems, 5 bags for military first-aid kits and 5 sleeping bags, 2 balaclavas and 1 fleece.
In the Mark Kropyvnytskyi Oblast Music and Drama Theater, a charity play “Born to be Free” by the Suziria Theater was shown. The story was created on the basis of documentary facts of the life of the Ukrainian intelligentsia. It is about how the soviet government destroyed the ideas of the original Ukrainian culture, as well as about the war that has been going on for over 100 years to this day.
Western Oblasts
Volyn Oblast
During the enemy air raid on the night of November 21, air defense was operating on the territory of the Volyn Oblast. The military destroyed several drones of the “Shahed” type.
Starting in the new year, two new trains will depart from Lutsk. It will be possible to reach the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia oblasts by rail.
Lviv Oblast
A silent procession and commemoration of the fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred was held in Lviv for the Day of Dignity and Freedom, which is celebrated on November 21. The route of a silent procession with candles led to the Memorial of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. There, those present honored the memory of the fallen participants of the Revolution of Dignity.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Residents of the Khmelnytskyi Raion could hear explosions, air defense was working. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
This year, the largest afforestation of all years is taking place in the south of the country. Khmelnytskyi foresters will hand over almost three million oak seedlings to the “Bashtanka Forestry” branch of the Southern Office.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Three residents of Bukovyna from the Kadubiwtsi community – Ivan Sytnyk, Valentyn Tarnovetskyi and Ivan Marusyk – were posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.
In Chernivtsi, the “City of Good” crisis center opened a hospice, where terminally ill children are cared for. In addition, there is a rehabilitation center for children. All services are free.
Since the beginning of the year, 263 IDPs have found work in the Chernivtsi Oblast through the employment center. The largest number of employed – 158 people – is in the Chernivtsi Raion.
Residents of the Vanchykivtsi community handed over humanitarian aid to the residents of the Kherson Oblast. It is about clothes, products and other necessary things.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
In Ivano-Frankivsk, the sixth residential center “YAMariupol. Care” was opened. Here, IDPs from Mariupol can get the services of a hairdresser, a seamstress, and use a laundry and a co-working space.
Ternopil Oblast
In the Ternopil Oblast, a memorial plaque to the fallen soldier Andrii Kobiakov was opened in the Buchach community. The plaque was installed on the facade of the Zarvanytsia gymnasium.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Together with the Kamianske community and the international humanitarian organization “People in Need Slovak Republic”, a modern, comfortable and barrier-free environment for new families is created in the Zakarpattia Oblast. It is about a project to support orphans and children deprived of parental care. Four two-story houses are built using advanced technologies in order to provide family education for children who, under certain life circumstances, are deprived of the opportunity to grow up in their family. It is planned to hand over ready-made housing to families who will take in at least 5 orphans and children deprived of parental care.
Residents of the villages of Esen, Solovka, and Tysaashvan participated in the charity event – blood collection for Ukrainian defenders, which is held by the Zakarpattia Oblast Blood Transfusion Station.
