Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Russian troops launched ten ballistic missiles at the capital. On the morning of December 13, as a result of the work of the Air Defense Forces, about a dozen cases of falling debris were recorded in Kyiv. Debris fell on the road in Holosiyivskyi district, in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi, private and residential buildings were damaged, as well as water pipes.

People were evacuated from a residential building in the Desnyanskyi district of the capital — 17 people were saved, including seven children. The windows in the apartments were broken and there was a fire. A total of 53 people were injured, including six children.

In the Dniprovskyi district of Kyiv, 35 private houses are without electricity due to damage to power lines by rocket fragments.

Residents of a multi-story residential building in the Dniprovskyi district, which suffered the most damage as a result of a russian missile strike, will be temporarily sheltered in the “point of invincibility”. It was opened on the territory of a nearby school. Here they prepared hot food, tea and coffee, and created a stock of basic necessities for the victims. Pupils were transferred to distance education.

The mobile operator “Kyivstar” today plans to restore the home Internet, as well as start the launch of mobile communications. Cyber specialists of the Security Service of Ukraine are helping in the recovery work. One of the russian pseudo-hacker groups Solntsepok has already claimed responsibility for the attack.

Kyiv Oblast

Explosive objects were liquidated today in Bucha raion.

The Buzivskyi Academic Lyceum is being restored with funds from the Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression in Kyiv Oblast. In the spring of 2022, 80% of the building was damaged during hostilities. Currently, classrooms and corridors on the 2nd and 3rd floors are being dismantled there. Today, the lyceum has 434 students in 22 classes. Training is conducted in various forms.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In the Hryshkivtsi territorial community, a new home is being built as a family-type orphanage for a family of immigrants. The building will be fully inclusive and energy efficient, with an underground modular concrete shelter. The project is being implemented within the framework of the initiative of the Olena Zelenska Foundation “Address of Childhood” to build their own housing for adoptive families from among displaced persons.

Officer-psychologist Serhiy Tvardovskyi with the callsign “Rishalo” after demobilization founded a rehabilitation and socialization center for veterans in Zhytomyr called “Those Who Passed Through Fire”. Its purpose is to help soldiers socialize after combat and return home.  

Chernihiv Oblast

On December 12, russian troops shelled one community in the bordering Chernihiv Oblast. 13 explosions, probably from an automatic grenade launcher, were recorded in the Snovsk community near the village of Klyusy.

In Novgorod-Siversk community, law enforcement officers evacuated a family with six children. The children’s ages range from two months to 11 years, along with them, the police also took away their pets. The family lived two kilometers from the russian border in a village that is shelled daily by the russians.

Sumy Oblast 

During the day, December 12, the russian army carried out 5 shellings of the border territories and settlements of the Sumy Oblast. 33 explosions were recorded. Four communities were shelled.

At night, the russian army again shelled Sumy Oblast. 5 explosions were recorded. The Svesa and Esman communities were shelled. There was shelling from small arms and mortars.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast 

On December 12, at least 21 settlements in the Bogodukhiv, Kharkiv and Kupyansk raions suffered mortar and artillery strikes from the russian federation in the Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight russian assaults — the russian Federation attacked in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Ivanivka.

Kupyansk is fortified with a ring defense, as was done for Kharkiv. Fortification structures are being built in all directions, with the priorities being the fortification of four directions in the Kharkiv Oblast.

Donetsk Oblast

Yesterday, one person was injured by russian weapons.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,790 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 4,375 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

81,000 families in 225 settlements remain without electricity in Donetsk Oblast. Energy workers from other Oblasts will be involved in overcoming the consequences of bad weather.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Siversk was shelled in the Lysychansk direction, 12 shellings took place in the Lyman community.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion 

In the Donetsk direction, 1 person was wounded in Krasnohorivka in Maryinka community, Georgiivka and Maksimilianivka were shelled. A house in Novoselivka Pershii was damaged in Ocheretn community. Isolated shelling was recorded in Avdiyivka. The Kurakhiv community suffered 7 shellings: a house in Ostrivske was damaged, in the affected area – Hanivka, Vesely Hay, Vovchenka and the private sector of Kurakhove.

Over the past day, December 12, the Ukrainian military repelled 51 assaults by russian invaders in the Avdiyivka area.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

2 private houses and an industrial building were damaged in the Horlivka direction in the Chasovoyarsk community.

The troops of russia have success near Bakhmut due to the “fresh” units that they still have left. They seek to seize Chasiv Yar in order to create a threat to the headquarters and logistics of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

The detained resident of Toretsk, who gave the occupiers information about the armed forces in the Bakhmut and Avdiyivka raions, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolayiv Oblast

On December 12 and 13, the russian army struck the village of Solonchaky of the Kutsurub community in Mykolayiv Oblast. Shelling was also recorded in the town of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community.

Zaporizhzhia Oblay

Yesterday, russian military personnel struck 88 strikes on 21 populated areas. As a result of enemy shelling, several residential buildings were damaged, civilians were not injured.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight attacks by the russian army in the areas north of Priyutne, west of Verbovoy, and south of Robotyne.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a church chorister and the wife of the abbot of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the moscow Patriarchate, who, according to the investigation, was “pointing” russian missiles at the positions of the Armed Forces near Zaporizhzhia. The woman was informed about the suspicion.

Odesa Oblast 

Nine unmanned aerial vehicles of the “Shahed-131/136” type shot down air defense forces over Odesa on the evening of December 12. One of the downed drones fell on the territory of a communal car repair enterprise in Odesa. A fire broke out on the spot, which was extinguished. Two employees were hospitalized with injuries. The hangar was destroyed, 11 civilian cars were damaged, three burned to the ground.

In Odesa raion, fragments of another downed drone damaged one of the buildings of the port infrastructure. People were not injured.

Kherson Oblast 

The army of russia struck Kherson Oblast 113 times during the day, firing 606 shells from various types of weapons. An educational institution and an enterprise in Kherson were hit. Six people were injured.

The russian army is shelling Kherson throughout the day. Details are being clarified.

The so-called “head of the Novotroitsk municipal district” in the Kherson Oblast was informed in absentia about the suspicion of russia complicity. She began to “manage” the district after pseudo-elections in the temporarily occupied territory in October 2023. Earlier, the suspect joined the “inited russia” party and registered as a candidate for deputies.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 

On the night of December 13, the russian army shelled Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast twice. Data on the destruction are being clarified. There are no dead or injured.

More than 6,000 families remain without electricity in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast due to bad weather.

Kirovohrad Oblast 

After the start of the full-scale invasion, Kirovohrad Oblast became a second home for more than 28,000 displaced people from Donetsk Oblast. Next year, the programs related to the support of immigrants will work.

An embroidered flag made by craftsmen from the Kropyvnytskyi raion was unfurled in the Vatican. At the request of the military of the 72nd separate motorized infantry brigade, it was made by the embroiderers of the Znamyanka needlework center “Modistka”. This banner with the words “Holy Father, pray for us. With faith and love” was handed over to the Roman Catholic bishops from Ukraine so that they could hand it over to the Pope.

Volunteers from the Balashivka microdistrict in Kropyvnytskyi of the “Feed the Patriots” public organization continue to make dry borschts and soups for soldiers on the front lines and forced migrants from the occupied territories. In total, the community has packed more than 154,000 packages since the start of the full-scale invasion. This is more than 1 million servings of ready meals (one packet is dissolved in four liters of water).

Cherkasy Oblast 

Last night, a mobile group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully worked in Uman Oblast, shooting down an enemy “shahed”. There were no casualties or destruction.

At a meeting of the executive committee of the Cherkasy City Council, a decision was made to help businesses affected by the September missile attack. Thus, a provision was approved to provide non-refundable financial assistance to business entities: owners of destroyed property – UAH 100 thousand, owners of damaged property – UAH 50 thousand. UAH 5 million has been allocated for these purposes.

Drone piloting courses for women were opened in Cherkasy. The Cherkasy Swarm piloting school faced a shortage of personnel when it started training specialists for the army and civilians. Women become instructors since trained male pilots are often drafted into the army. The Alley of Thuja in Cherkasy was decorated with personalized Christmas toys in honor of the fallen Heroes. According to the family’s plan, eventually, a memory park will be set up there. Before the Christmas holidays, they initiated decorating the trees with Christmas balls bearing the names of their fallen sons, husbands, and fathers.  

In Cherkasy, trained dogs will perform for children with disabilities. Canine handlers of the Cherkasy Regional Club of Service Dogs have prepared for New Year’s performances. They have made festive costumes for the four-legged performers, and they help in the rehabilitation of children with disabilities. Meetings with them are organized on a regular basis.

Poltava Oblast

The Poltava community has approved a list of military personnel whose portraits will be the first to be printed for the “Poltava Remembers Heroes” project. Photos and information will be posted on special stands.

Poltava renamed pervomaiskyi avenue in honor of the Hero of Ukraine Vitalii Hrytsaienko. The decision was made at a session of the city council.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Volunteers from the Tomashpil community send dozens of stoves and homemade trench candle boxes, warm mats, and homemade heating devices to different frontline areas every day. They make everything for heating themselves. 

In the village of Pysarivka in the Kalynivka community in Vinnytsia Oblast, a monument to those who died during World War II was renovated: the soviet star was replaced with a trident.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast 

Ukrainians in the American city of Charlotte organized a nativity scene, the idea of Natalia Nechydiuk from Rivne. More than two dozen participants, adults and children from different regions of Ukraine, took part in the Christmas performance. The nativity scene premiered two weeks before December 25. The Ukrainians have now been invited to perform in other cities in North Carolina.  

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

In Khmelnytskyi region, air defense forces neutralized a Shahed attack drone. There were no injuries, destruction, or damage to infrastructure as a result of the attack.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Assistance from the program to support Kamianets-Podilskyi soldiers in the combat zone was approved for 26 defenders (UAH 15 thousand each). At the previous meeting of the city council, the deputies approved 170 such payments.

The mayor of the community handed over two more quadcopters purchased at the expense of the community to the military personnel from Kamianske who are in the combat zone. The cost is UAH 420 thousand.

This year, the city council purchased sweets for five thousand young residents of the Kamianets-Podilskyi community who need social support and assistance.

Ternopil Oblast

Ukraine’s first augmented reality space has been opened in Ternopil. It will operate in the premises of the Western Ukrainian National University. The project is called the “Immersive Multifunctional Hub”. It is equipped with tablets, hologram creation tools, a digital whiteboard, and augmented reality glasses. In this space, scientists will develop rehabilitation programs for soldiers.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Almost 2.6 million hryvnias will be allocated from the Uzhhorod budget to pay one-time financial assistance and assistance in solving social and domestic issues to family members of fallen/deceased Ukrainian defenders. This decision was unanimously supported by the deputies at the city council session.  

Employees of Zakarpattia Regional Military Administrative Office have been trained to work with the new “Justification of Need” functionality on Prozorro. The innovation will allow contracting authorities to publish additional information when creating an annual plan – justification of the need for a particular procurement.
