Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Another session of the Kyiv City Council is taking place today. Residents of the capital gathered for a rally near the building of the Kyiv City State Administration. They demand to increase the financial support of the armed forces from the city budget.

December 14 – Day of commemoration of the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP. This day is a reminder that a peaceful atom in the wrong hands can become a weapon of mass destruction.

Kyiv Oblast

In the Vyshgorod raion, joint command and staff exercises were held. They were organized to work out a clear algorithm of actions of various special services. The training was conducted according to three scenarios: a bus with children drove into a ditch, the “Air Alarm” warning system does not work, and a missile strike.

In the Kyiv Oblast, energy workers are switching to an enhanced mode of operation and are preparing to eliminate the consequences of accidents, in the event of their occurrence.

The Obukhiv “sewn” towel was included in the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine. Obukhiv towels are called “stitched” because they are made with relief embroidery, which tightly covers the fabric and creates the impression of a completely sewn fabric. At the heart of the ornament is the Tree of Life (Family Tree), which grows from a flower pot.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Zhytomyr Oblast was attacked by the russian “Kyndzhal”. Explosions were recorded.

In Zhytomyr, teachers and group leaders of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Center of the Zhytomyr City Council painted cartridges that will be sold at a Christmas fair in the Czech Republic, and the funds will be donated to the Armed Forces.

In Zhytomyr, on the birthday of Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych, more than 30 students of Lyceum No. 3 organized an event during which they sang “Shchedryk”.

Chernihiv Oblast

On December 13, the russian military fired mortars at two communities in the bordering Chernihiv Oblast. The Semenivka community was hit by nine shellings. Four explosions were recorded in the Novgorod-Siversk community.

Nine centimeters of snow fell in Chernihiv by noon. More than 400 utility workers and 38 pieces of equipment went out to clear snow from roads, crossings and sidewalks.

Sumy Oblast 

On December 13, the russian army shelled 7 communities of Sumy Oblast. 7 communities came under russian fire.

At night and in the morning, the russian army shelled Sumy Oblast 11 times, 32 explosions were recorded.

In Sumy Oblast, border guards discovered a russian SRG, which was moving from the territory of russia. The border squad used weapons and repelled the attack. It happened on December 13.

In Sumy Oblast, 60 settlements — 2.9 thousand users — remain without electricity.

Eastern Oblasts 

Kharkiv Oblast 

Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 russian attacks in the Synkivka area and two more attacks east of Petropavlivka.

On the morning of December 13, russian troops shelled Kupyansk from the Pion gun mounts, and no one was injured. With artillery and mortars, the russian federation struck 5 populated areas.

The enemy shelled Kupyansk three times a day. Private houses, outbuildings, and a garage were damaged there.

In Kharkiv Oblast, 23 settlements were partially cut off due to bad weather. These are 3205 subscribers.

Donetsk Oblast

The russian army attacked Donetsk Oblast eight times and damaged the railway track.

Ukrainian soldiers repelled 84 russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Maryinka, and Avdiyivka directions during December 13.

On December 13, the russians wounded 1 resident of Donetsk Oblast — in Avdiyivka.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,790 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, and injured another 4,377 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Representatives of the russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, working in the temporarily occupied Makiyivka of the Donetsk Oblast, are re-registering the real estate of Ukrainians who left the occupation or are accused by the occupiers of cooperating with the Defense Forces.

In the Donetsk Oblast, 168 settlements were cut off due to bad weather.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion 

In the Lysychansk sector, a house in Serebrianka of the Siversk community was damaged. Lyman community was shelled 16 times.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Kurakhove community, 2 houses in Veselyi Hai were damaged, and the private sector of Kurakhove was shelled.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Horlivka sector, 3 houses in the Chasiv Yar community were damaged. 

Mariupol

The film “20 Days in Mariupol” is nominated for an American Producers Guild Award. The award ceremony will take place on February 25, 2024. 

Luhansk Oblast

The occupiers held a festival of the “Peoples of russia” in Luhansk, where they brought schoolchildren en masse, convincing them that they were russians and that Ukrainians were a fictional nation.

The Ukrainian military has set up a Christmas tree on the border with Luhansk Oblast. It will be decorated with homemade children’s toys.

Southern Oblasts 

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday late in the evening the sound of an explosion was heard in Snihurivka. It was heard in an open area outside the settlement. There were no reports of injuries or deaths, and no calls to emergency services.

At night on December 14, five russian Shahed-131/136 drones were shot down in Mykolaiv Oblast. The russian military also attacked the city of Ochakiv and the water area of the Ochakiv community, the settlements of Yaselka and Dmytrivka of the Kutsurub community, and the outskirts of the town of Snihurivka of the Snihuriv community.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The occupiers shelled 23 settlements of Zaporizhzhia Oblast – 151 attacks were recorded. There were 9 reports of the destruction of residential buildings. There were no casualties.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks by the russian military in the operational zone of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops yesterday. The russian army launched four air strikes, engaged in 82 combat engagements and fired 934 artillery rounds.

To leave the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, in 90% of cases, a russian passport is required, and in some cases, a foreign passport is required. It is also necessary to pay at least $500 and pass about 30 checkpoints.

Odesa Oblast

At night of December 13-14, air defense forces shot down 32 drones over Odesa Oblast. The wreckage of the downed drones damaged civilian objects and injured people.  

In Odesa Oblast, shelling set a car and outbuildings on fire. 11 nearby buildings were damaged.

During a nighttime attack in Odesa, debris from downed kamikaze drones damaged a dormitory. Eleven people were injured, including three children. Two 8-year-old boys and a 12-year-old girl suffered contusions and closed head injuries, while adults had concussions and wounds.

After the shelling of the city, the russian army attacked Izmail Raion, sending more than 20 attack drones. They targeted the port infrastructure. No people were injured. The warehouses of two granaries were damaged.

In Odesa Oblast, families of border guards killed at the front received state awards.

The relatives of Sergeant Roman Sukhomlyn received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree, and senior soldier Oleksandr Kupets was awarded the medal “To the Defender of the Fatherland”. Two other border guards were awarded the Order “For Courage”, III degree.

Kherson Oblast

Yesterday, russian troops fired 536 shells at Kherson Oblast. They hit residential areas of the region’s settlements, medical and educational institutions, a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson Raion and a business center in Kherson. One person was killed and another wounded.

At night, the russian army shelled the village of Myroliubivka in Kherson Oblast. A woman died under the rubble of a house.

Also at night, the russian army attacked Kherson twice. Fires broke out in an apartment building and a business center. No one was killed or injured.

In the morning, the russian military attacked Kherson. A woman was wounded. She was diagnosed with explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds to the chest.  

In the afternoon, the russian army shelled Kherson city community. In the suburbs, a resident sustained a concussion. Some houses were also damaged.

Five children were returned from the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast to the territory controlled by Ukraine. Two of them were taken together with their parents. Three more are children in difficult life circumstances. All of them are now in a safe place.

The command of the National Guard of Ukraine awarded the service dog named Mukhtar with the medal “For Devoted Service of the III degree” and the dog handlers with the commendation of the Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. Service dogs help detect explosives, weapons, and ammunition, and participate in search operations of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Central Oblasts 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast 

In Dnipro, on Naberezhnaya Peremogy Street, 118, reconstruction of a residential building damaged by a russian missile strike on January 14 has begun. Two entrances are to be dismantled, and these are 72 apartments. Residents of apartments living next to emergency parts of the entrance will be evicted. The city government will compensate for housing rent.

As of December 14, 3,500 families remain without electricity in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast due to worsening weather.

Kirovohrad Oblast 

At the next session, the Kirovohrad Oblast’s Council plans to consider a draft decision on the temporary termination of the powers of deputies who ran for this convocation from the “Opposition Platform – For Life” political party. The draft decision proposes not to invite them to sessions and meetings of standing commissions. But this decision will not apply to regional council deputies from the OPZZ, who at the time of its adoption are defending Ukraine as part of the Armed Forces.

Poltava Oblast 

There is no electricity in four communities of the Poltava Oblast due to weather conditions.

Vinnytsia Oblast 

Animal therapy courses are held at the Vinnytsia Oblast Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital named after Yushchenko. Thanks to this type of rehabilitation, military personnel are helped to overcome stress. The comprehensive course program is compiled by psychologists.

Western Oblast 

Khmelnytskyi Oblast 

Russian troops struck Starokostyantynov in Khmelnytskyi Oblast with a “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missile. Information about the consequences and victims is being clarified.

Khmelnytskyi police officers are preparing to implement canister therapy for injured defenders. This is a new method of rehabilitation for Ukraine with the help of specially trained and selected dogs. The first meeting of four-legged therapists with wounded servicemen is planned in the near future.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

From December 15, gifts will be collected at the volunteer Christmas fair on the square near the Town Hall, which volunteers will take to the front to soldiers and children in front-line settlements.

Chernivtsi Oblast

The Golden Cross was awarded to servicemen Vadym Bohdan from the village of Hlyboka, Volodymyr Fedotov from the village of Cheponosy, and Vasyl Hrynnyk from the village of Malyatintsy. Soldier Serhii Khrapko from the village of Glynytsia was awarded the “Silver Cross”.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, awarded Oleksandr Fesyk from the village of Kyseliv, in the Verenchansk community, with the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree.

In Bukovina, orphaned children received gifts from benefactors from Great Britain: patrons managed to collect more than 30,000 pounds and traveled 5,000 km to personally deliver presents to children for the Christmas holidays.

Ternopil Oblast 

In the Vyshnivtsi community in the Ternopil Oblast, children collected more than 14,000 hryvnias in pennies for the Armed Forces. Residents of the community and students of seven educational institutions took part in the “Brave hryvnia” campaign. In total, 4.3 million hryvnias were collected in Ukraine.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The Slovak side partially resumed the passage of trucks in the direction of entering its territory through the Vyshnye Nemetske – Uzhhorod checkpoint. 3-4 trucks per hour are accepted for entry into Slovakia.
