Northern Oblasts

Kyiv Oblast 

A project is being implemented in Kyiv Oblast to ensure free access to high-quality education for war veterans and low-mobility population groups. The network of inclusive professional education will include 8 institutions of state and communal ownership.

Artists from the Kyiv Oblast painted shell casings to sell at the auction. The received money will go to help the military, the Irpin City Council reported.

Chernihiv Oblast

The russians attacked the borders of Chernihiv Oblast with mortars, tube artillery, FPV drones and launched unguided air missiles from a helicopter.

The russian military fired on the REM equipment and a water tower in one of the border villages of Chernihiv Oblast.

On December 29, the reconstructed overpass near Nizhyn will be opened for traffic. It is located on the route connecting Chernihiv Oblast with Kyiv Oblast and Sumy Oblast via railway. This is already the sixth restored bridge in the Chernihiv Oblast that was destroyed during the russian invasion in February 2022.

Sumy Oblast 

During the day, the russian military carried out 17 shelling of the border territories of the Sumy Oblast. 140 explosions were recorded.

At night and in the morning, russian troops carried out 6 shellings of the Sumy Oblast. 15 explosions were recorded.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast 

On the morning of December 26, the russian army hit Vovchansk and also carried out an airstrike on Kupyansk, where two private houses were damaged, but no one was injured. In addition to Kupyansk, Varvarivka, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Sobolivka of the Kharkiv Oblast were hit by airstrikes during the day.

Donetsk Oblast 

On December 26, the russian army carried out 14 strikes on ten populated areas of Donetsk Oblast. The shelling damaged and destroyed 14 residential buildings, a hospital, a school, farm buildings and cars.

On December 26, five people were killed and three more residents of the Oblast were injured in shelling by the russian army in Donetsk Oblast.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,801 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, injured another 4,419 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

During December 26, the Ukrainian military repelled 55 attacks by russian occupation forces in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts. Most of the battles took place in the Avdiyivka direction.

Denys Pushylin, the leader of the “DPR” group, was sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison for encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and collaborative activities.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

Nine attacks by the russian military in the area of ​​Robotyne and to the west of Vervovoy were repulsed by the Defense Forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

Odesa Oblast 

During the attack of the russia, a drone shot down in the air fell on country houses in the suburbs of Odesa, a fire broke out there, which was extinguished. One person died in the city, another man who was taken to the hospital in serious condition, died. Four were injured, including a 17-year-old teenager. Debris from downed UAVs also fell on one of the uninhabited new buildings. Air defense forces shot down 12 drones over the region.

The russian army has changed the tactics of launching “shaheeds”: now they are trying to direct them through residential areas.

In Odesa, the first 26-meter tram, purchased with credit funds from the European Investment Bank, is being tested. It will soon start running on one of the city routes. In total, the city expects 13 such three-section low-floor trams.

Kherson Oblast 

The army of russia shelled the Kherson Oblast 161 times last day.

Yesterday evening, the russian military fired on an evacuation train at the Kherson railway station. A police lieutenant from the Kirovohrad Oblast died. Two more policemen are in the hospital with shrapnel wounds. Two civilians were also injured.

Due to yesterday’s strike by the riussian army on Kherson, the city’s energy infrastructure was badly damaged. 70% of subscribers remain without electricity supply, that is 93.7 thousand consumers. Power engineers are working to restore the power grid.

During the day, the russian army stormed the positions of the Defense Forces on the left bank of the Kherson Oblast 14 times. However, she was rebuffed and retreated.

This morning, the russian army attacked Novoberislav in the Kherson Oblast. A 59-year-old man who was walking down the street at the time of the shelling was killed.

In the morning, the russian military drones attacked a medical facility in Beryslav, Kherson Oblast. A technical worker was injured and was treated on the spot.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Air defense forces destroyed 13 russian drones over Dnipropetrovsk on the night of December 27.

The russian army also shelled the Nikopol raion with artillery, and there were no casualties or injuries.

Ten police buildings were searched in the Dnipro district due to reports of landmines.

For the second year now, Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has been under constant shelling by the russian army. In 2023, as of December, almost 5 thousand houses, apartments, buildings, structures were damaged and destroyed in the city.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Air defense was active in Kirovohrad Oblast. No emergencies in the communities of Kirovohrad Oblast. 

The first molecular biological DNA laboratory in the region was opened in Kirovohrad Oblast. Before that, DNA samples from Kirovohrad Oblast were analyzed in Vinnytsia.

Cherkasy Oblast 

The enemy fired 56 times at Cherkasy Oblast since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. As a result, 453 objects were damaged. Most civilian casualties occurred in Uman Raion: 24 people were killed and 31 wounded.

UAH 120 million was allocated to the regional budget to support the Defense Forces, the Armed Forces, military personnel, and their families. The regional budget also allocated UAH 128 million to the contingency fund, which will allow us to respond to events without emergency assistance from the state budget in the first stages.

Poltava Oblast

As part of the “Poltava Resistance” program, we decided to donate three vehicles, seven night vision devices, sights and other equipment to the military. More than UAH 7.7 million was spent on the purchase from the Poltava community budget. 

Vinnytsia Oblast

Lviv Oblast

The Lviv City Council has adopted the budget for 2024. The community budget is expected to raise over UAH 15 billion. Of this, UAH 1 billion is planned to be allocated to support the Armed Forces.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

In the evening of December 26, russian “Shahed” drones attacked Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Air defense forces shot down one “Shahed” UAV. There were no injuries or damage.

Since November 2022, Khmelnytskyi Oblast has received 220 evacuation trains from Kherson. Trains are still arriving. Khmelnytskyi Oblast has sheltered about 6,500 internally displaced persons from Kherson Oblast.


At an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee, 13 drones of various modifications were handed over to two military units. 

Chernivtsi Oblast 

This year, Chernivtsi received approximately 500 million hryvnias of “military personal income tax”. Approximately half of this money was spent on the needs of the Armed Forces, the rest on the support of the heating and water utilities.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

A memorial to the fallen soldiers was unveiled in the village of Kropyvnyk in the Kalush community in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. It was set up in the center of the village.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, a parish church of the Nativity of Christ has been operating for nine months instead of the moscow patriarchate church. The church replaced russian inscriptions under the icons with Ukrainian ones, organized a volunteer headquarters in the basement, and the service is now conducted only in Ukrainian.

Zakarpattia Oblast

More than a hundred camouflage nets were sent to the front by IDPs and residents of Neresnytsia and Novoselytsia villages in the Tiachiv Raion. The materials for the nets are purchased by a local businessman. The villagers are also involved in fundraising.
