The one hundred forty fourth (144) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.
There are no significant changes on the Volyn, Polissya and Siversky directions. The enemy used artillery to shell the border settlements of Studenok, Volfyne, Bilopylla, Novi Virky and Iskryskivshchyna. Aerial reconnaissance of the border regions of Chernihiv and Sumy oblast continues.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is trying to hold the occupied lines. Shelling was recorded in the areas of the settlements of Petrivka, Protopopivka, Prudyanka, Ruski Tyshki, Pytomnyk, Stary Saltiv, Chuhuiv, Mospanove, Udy, Vesele and others. The occupiers carried out airstrikes near Prudyanka and Verkhniy Saltov.
In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy fired mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Dolyna, Dibrovne, Ivanivka, Mazanivka, Bohorodychne, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Kurulka, Kostyantynivka, Virnopillya, Husarivka and other settlements. In order to disrupt the control system of the Defense Forces and prevent aerial reconnaissance, the enemy is actively using radio-electronic warfare.
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to establish control over the city of Siversk and advance in the direction of the city of Bakhmut.
In the Slovyansk direction, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Donetske, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Zvanivka, Vyimka, Ivano-Daryivka, and other settlements. Our soldiers quickly suppressed enemy assaults near Hryhorivka. The occupiers withdrew with losses.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the positions of our troops with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery, in particular near Berestove, Vesele, Krasna Hora, Vershyna, Novoluhanske, and Travneve. It carried out missile and air strikes in the regions of Kostyantynivka, Novoluhanske and Pokrovske. The occupiers tried to storm and advance near Berestove, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, and Novoluhanske. The bad actions of the enemy again ended in failure and loss of personnel.
In the Avdiyivka, Kurakhivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions, shelling was recorded near Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Stepnohirsk, and Stepove. The enemy launched missile and air strikes near Pokrovsk and Novoselivka Druha.
The occupiers tried to improve the tactical position in the areas of Mykhailivka, Pavlivka and Novomykhailivka settlements. They were repulsed and ingloriously managed to escape.
In the South Buh direction, the enemy is trying to disrupt the logistical support of our troops with systematic shelling. Shelled civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Bila Krynytsia, Berezneguvate, Ternivka, Vesely Kut, Blahodatne, Kvitneve, Lotskyne, Novohryhorivka, Myrne, Prybuzke, Lupareve, Bashtanka and others. Launched missile strikes on Mykolaiv.
Aerial reconnaissance by unmanned aerial vehicles continues. There is a high threat of further missile strikes on the region’s critical infrastructure.
Northern regions
Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine and the State Bureau of Investigation detained Oleg Kulinich, former head of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Crimea. According to law enforcement officers, he worked for the special services of the russian federation and gave them secret data. In particular, his transfer of information constituting a state secret was documented. At the time of his detention, he was an active SBU employee. Until March 2022, he headed one of the regional offices of the SBU.
The political party “Opposition Platform – For Life” appealed against the decision of the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal, dated June 20, regarding the judicial ban of the party with the transfer of its property to the state.

Kyiv Oblast

Zhytomyr Oblast
A working meeting was held in the city of Zhytomyr regarding the state of preparation of educational institutions of the Zhytomyr Oblast for the 2022/23 academic year.

Near one of the villages in the Zhytomyr Oblast, local residents found the body of a missile.
The Hryshkivtsi territorial community of the Berdychiv District experienced yet another painful loss. The Berdychiv District military administration regretfully announced the heroic death of a resident of the village of Reya – soldier Oleksandr Khalif, born in 1987.

Chernihiv Oblast
At around 8:00 p.m., border guards recorded 12 rounds of shelling from tube artillery from the direction of the village of Novi Yurkovychi (a checkpoint in the bryansk region of russia). As Ivan Vashchenko, the head of the Koryukivka District military administration, later reported, the shells fell outside the populated areas – in the field and in the forest.
In Pryluky, they said goodbye to the fallen soldier Andriy Kharchenko. He was killed by an artillery shell in the Luhansk Oblast on July 14, while performing a combat mission.
Yesterday, July 15 a meeting was held between representatives of the Oblast Military Administration and the City Council and international donor organizations that provide assistance in the Oblast. Representatives of international organizations, such as the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), People in Need, ReliefAid, ZOA, the Red Cross of Ukraine, the Rokada Charitable Foundation, as well as the UN, joined the discussion. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to set up a Coordination Center under the Chernihiv Oblast Military Administration for consolidation, coordination and quick decision-making on the provision of assistance to all affected communities of the Oblast.
Sumy Oblast
Last day, russian troops continued shelling the Sumy Oblast.
Almost from 9 a.m., the russians fired at the Glukhiv city community using multiple rocket launchers. There were 28 explosions.
From 9 in the morning, the russians shelled the Esman community, firing 20 shots from tube artillery. After that, the russians opened fire from multiple rocket launchers on the Nova Sloboda community. In all, 27 hits. Civilian households, buildings, power lines were damaged.
Also, in the morning there was artillery bombardment of the Shalyhyne community.
During the day, the russians shelled three settlements of the Bilopillia community: almost two dozen tube artillery strikes. Then the enemy switched to shelling the Shalyhyne community – 22 shots from tube artillery.
In the evening, the russians shelled the Nova Sloboda community twice using multiple rocket launchers, 14 hits.
At 7 p.m., the enemy opened fire from small arms in the Khotyn and Shalyhyne communities. The situation repeated after nine o’clock. There was also mortar shelling in the Krasnopillia District, more than 10 hits.
The night of July 17 was quiet. And the morning in the Shostka District began with shooting. For their territory, the Russians opened fire from large-caliber automatic weapons. After four in the morning, more than 10 rounds were fired from machine guns, plus 5 grenade launcher strikes. At half past five in the morning, there were 2 more mortar hits. The target of all the above fire and strikes was the Seredyna-Buda community.
Eastern regions
Kharkiv Oblast
During the night, the russian invaders again bombarded Kharkiv with missiles.
At night, in the Kyivskyi district of the city, a fire broke out on one of the floors of an industrial building as a result of the hit by 2 rockets. A 59-year-old woman was injured and subsequently hospitalized.
At night, the enemy intensively shelled the Derhachi community. As a result of the shelling, fires broke out in industrial buildings, and a car was on fire.
Fighting in the Kharkiv Oblast continues. The enemy tries to hold the occupied positions, regroups, and conducts aerial reconnaissance. The Izium sector remains “hot”, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not let the enemy through and do not lose their positions.
Donetsk Oblast
The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of July 17th.
The russians continue to launch rocket attacks on civilian infrastructure, in particular on educational institutions.
Three rockets landed in the Toretska community: 1 hit the residential quarter of Toretska, 2 — in Zalizne, where a school and a kindergarten were damaged. Currently, there is no information about the victims.
In Kostyantynivka, the russians shelled the territory of the medical college – the extent of the damage is being determined, and information about the victims has not been received.
In Soledar, as a result of shelling, a fire broke out in the local centre for children’s and youth creativity – rescuers are working on the spot.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy shelled civil and military infrastructure near Zakitny, Hryhorivka, Tetyanivka, Zvanivka, Minkivka, Raigorodka and others with barrel and jet artillery. It led assaults in the area of Ivano-Daryivka but was unsuccessful. Tried to advance in the direction of Verkhnokamyanka. It was decisively repulsed, suffered losses and withdrew. Conducted aerial reconnaissance of operational-tactical level UAVs near Zvanivka, Fedorivka, and Serebryanka.
In the Avdiyiv, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhya directions, systematic shelling of the positions of our troops along the contact line continues. The occupiers carried out airstrikes near Kamianka, Shcherbaki and Maly Shcherbaki.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, as a result of shelling and bombing in the Donetsk oblast, 623 civilians have been killed, and another 1,598 have been injured.
On July 16, the Russians killed 3 civilians of the Donetsk oblast: 2 in Udachny and 1 in Pokrovsk. Another 12 people were injured.
Bakhmut
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Novoluhanske, Berestov, Bilorogovka, Vershina, Vyimka, Sukha Balka, Oleksandropol and the territory of the Vugleghirska TPP. The occupiers also launched missile and air strikes near Soledar, Pokrovsky and Svitlodarsk.
Ukrainian soldiers competently repelled another reconnaissance attempt in a battle near Berestovo and Bilogorivka.
Luhansk Oblast
The occupation authorities emphasize the formation of the administration in Severodonetsk.
The russians shoot propagandistic scenes with pensioners, where “happy” people pick through rubble for food.
Battles are going on in Bilogorivka and Verkhnokamyanka, they are on the defensive.
Gas supply, water supply and electricity supply in Hirska community, Popasnaya, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk, Rubizhny were completely destroyed.
Mobilization continues in the occupied cities, and its second wave is currently underway.
Southern Oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Around 15:00 a series of explosions was heard in Zaporizhzhia. The russian military shelled populated areas on the contact line with rocket salvo systems. As a result, a fire broke out in several fields.
In Melitopol, more than 800 people signed up for evacuation. The city authorities plan to evacuate them within a week and a half. Priority is given to women and children. This was reported by the head of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.
As a result of artillery shelling by russian troops, three fires broke out in the oblast. A hangar-type building and two wheat fields were on fire in the village of Lukyanivske, Vasyliv district. Dry grass was burning in the village of Verkhnya Tersa of the Pologiv district. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
During the day, 743 people were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory of the oblast, including 174 children.
Mykolayiv Oblast
During the past day, russian troops killed four people and wounded 37 in the Mykolayiv Oblast.
Around three o’clock on July 17th, russian troops launched a rocket attack on the city of Mykolaiv. Ten explosions rang out. The State Emergency Service reported that as a result of the impact there was destruction and fires at two industrial enterprises and the ignition of dry grass.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Yesterday, 4 cruise missiles were shot down in the sky over the Dnipropetrovsk oblast and Zaporizhzhia during the day. The enemy fired six missiles of the X-101 (X-555) type. Around 4:30 p.m., four missiles were destroyed by air defence units of the “East” air command in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. The rest hit an agricultural enterprise in the Cherkasy oblast. Data on damages and victims are being verified.
Kirovohrad Oblast
An air alert was announced in the oblast – there was a threat of a missile attack. In general, the situation in the communities is calm and under control.
The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, Andrii Raykovych, appealed to the residents of the oblast not to ignore air warning signals and go to the nearest shelter for their own safety and the safety of their loved ones.

Western partners continuously support the Poltava Oblast. Thus, the oblast clinical hospital received serious humanitarian aid worth 100,000 dollars – antibiotics, antidiabetic and cardiac drugs, injections, solutions, and various other pills.
In Poltava, homeless animals will be issued passports. Currently, they are registered on the animal-id platform, after which they will be assigned a number, a token and a card with a QR code, which contains complete information about the animal. This will allow their identification and planning of subsequent treatments and vaccinations.

On July 14, 43-year-old Roman Barabash, the commander of the rifle division from the Myrhorod community, was killed in action while defending Ukraine in a battle with the overwhelming enemy forces.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
The situation in the Oblast is stable and under control.
According to the materials of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, the accomplice of collaborator Stremousov was convicted. She was the official editor in the network of propagandists. She was exposed in Ivano-Frankivsk. Rivne Oblast

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with belarus. The Territorial Defense units patrol the area and keep watch at checkpoints.
The head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration, Vitaliy Koval, together with Tetiana Lomakina, the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for barrier-free access, discussed a comprehensive rehabilitation program. It is planned to introduce an international classification of functioning, according to which a plan of rehabilitation measures will be generated and a multidisciplinary team will be formed.

As a result of the work of the extraordinary session, changes were made to the budget: 5.8 million hryvnias were received from the state to reimburse the costs of energy carriers in the educational institutions that accommodated IDPs for free; 500,000 hryvnias were allocated due to budget overruns for the completion of the works on the central stadium for its commissioning; the list of persons who have the right to receive material assistance has been expanded, including military personnel wounded during hostilities; one-time financial assistance was provided, including to family members of the fallen Heroes for the installation of monuments to them; new tariffs for household waste management services have been established; tariffs have also been established for the services of the municipal landfill for the placement and disposal of solid household waste. The deputies voted for the establishment of a temporary adjusted tariff for passenger transportation: in minibuses – 10 hryvnias, in public buses – 7 hryvnias.
This weekend, the organizers of the charity event “Help the defenders” offered an interesting and rich program. Several locations functioned in the European Square. Traditionally, the All-Ukrainian public organization “Sokil” joined in the event, whose students taught those who wanted to assemble and disassemble a Kalashnikov assault rifle (mockup).
