Northern oblasts

Kyiv

The situation with power supply in Kyiv has somewhat improved. Power engineers managed to redistribute the load on the grid – now Obolon, Kurenivka and Borshchahivka are in almost the same conditions as the rest of the city.

St. Michael’s Cathedral hosts the charity exhibition “Icons on Ammo Boxes”. The married couple Oleksandr Klymenko and Sofia Atlantova paint icons on the boxes where ammunition used to be stored. Some of the boxes were collected in the Kyiv Oblast after the hostilities and occupation. Among them there are those that were left by the russian army. All icons can be purchased, and the proceeds from the sales will be sent to the families of the fallen soldiers of the 114th Territorial Defense Brigade.

Kyiv Oblast

The Irpin community received from the UN Refugee Agency and its partner organization – the “Rokada” charitable foundation – four large trucks of construction materials, plumbing fixtures and other products, which will be used to repair the housing of 83 families whose apartments and houses were damaged during the hostilities.

Multi-storey buildings destroyed by the russian occupiers are being dismantled in Irpin. In total, there are 40 high-rise buildings in the city that are not subject to restoration.

Points of Invincibility will be opened in the temples of the Kyiv Oblast. The agreement on the opening of Points of Invincibility in the churches of the Kyiv Oblast was reached during the meeting with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius, which took place on the eve of the Christmas holidays.

Chernihiv Oblast

The patrol police of the Chernihiv Oblast has published an interactive map of the streets of Chernihiv, where road traffic control will be carried out by patrol policemen in the event of a complete blackout in Chernihiv. The list of addresses is attached.

Today, December 25, soldier Serhiy Knut, who was killed in action in the Donetsk Oblast, was buried in the Chernihiv Oblast.

Sumy Oblast

During the day of December 24, the russians carried out 87 strikes on the border areas of the Sumy Oblast. The Bilopillia, Seredyna-Bud, Vorozhba, and Nova Sloboda communities came under shelling, which caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

In the oblast, during the day, the areas of the settlements of Huryiv Kozachok, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Kudiivka, Hoptivka, Strilecha, Krasne, Ternova, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, and others, were subjected to enemy mortar and artillery shelling.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Kotliarivka, and Krokhmalne, using tanks, tube and rocket artillery.

A 72-year-old man was killed as a result of daytime artillery shelling by the occupiers in the village of Podoly of the Kupiansk Raion. His 74-year-old wife was wounded and hospitalized. Her condition is moderate.

Donetsk Oblast

Russians continued shooting along the entire frontline at night and in the morning.

In the Volnovakha sector, Vuhledar and the outskirts of the town came under fire again. No casualties.

No one was injured in the Donetsk sector either. At night, shelling of the Maryinka community continued: the building of the Maksymilianivka town council was damaged, hits in Maryinka and Krasnohorivka were recorded. In the morning, Orlivka of the Ocheretyne community and Avdiivka came under fire – the hospital was damaged.

In the Horlivka sector, Predtechyne of the Kostiantynivka community was hit by a missile:1 person was wounded, and 4 houses were damaged. In Bakhmut, 5 civilians were wounded, and 1 house was damaged.

In the Lysychansk sector, shelling of Torske and Zarichne of the Lyman community continues; this time there were no casualties.

In the Lyman sector, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova in the Luhansk Oblast, and Terny in the Donetsk Oblast came under fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Vesele, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Oblast came under fire.

On December 24, the russians wounded 7 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast: five in Bakhmut, one in Maksymilianivka, and one in Predtechyne.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,281 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 2,792. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

The enemy struck the industrial zone of the city again and destroyed the industry of Kramatorsk.

The National Scout Organization of Ukraine “PLAST” handed over the Bethlehem flame of peace to representatives of the executive committee of the Kramatorsk City Council. This fire will be transferred to points of invincibility, where everyone can light their own candle.

The team of the Active Community of Kropyvnytskyi held an art therapy class for children.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion, shelling of the Marinka community continued at night. The Maksimilianivka city council was damaged, and airstrikes were recorded in Marinka and Krasnohorivka. In the morning, Orlivka of the Ocheretyn community and Avdiivka came under fire. The hospital was damaged.

Despite this, heroes from the 79th separate amphibious assault battalion are preparing for Christmas in Ukraine on the first line of defense. 500 meters from these positions are the positions of кussian soldiers. Shooting battles, artillery shelling happens here. The enemy is visible to the naked eye, but it also sees us. Some sections of the trenches must be overcome exclusively by running, because a sniper is working from that side.

An entrepreneur from the Netherlands, Gary Theiss, did not remain aloof from the events in Ukraine, and with his own funds, he equipped and handed over a mobile point of invincibility to the Pokrovsk community.

The bus, equipped with everything necessary for the needs of residents in case of a long-term lack of electricity, was handed over to Pokrovsk by Taras Stetsik, the head of charity foundation Fenix-Ternopil, who is a long-time friend of the Dutchman Gary Theis.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Spirne, Zvanivka, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Paraskoviivka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Opytne, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Gora, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Diliivka, Kleban- Byk, Ozarianivka, Northern and New York of the Donetsk Oblast.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaivka Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy carried out artillery strikes on the water area of the Black Sea. At 12:57 and 11:55 p.m., shelling was carried out on the territory of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaiske, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Odessa Oblast

The day passed peacefully. There is still a danger of missile attacks. The situation is tense, but under control.

Over the past day, 2,196 people visited points of Invincibility.

Central oblasts

Kirovohrad Oblast

In the city of Kropyvnytskyi in the Kirovohrad Oblast, they collected 15 tons of russian-language books, handed them over to waste paper collection points, and the raised money was transferred to purchase a car for the military. The book collection campaign lasted from September to December. The townspeople brought waste paper to the oblast center of social and psychological assistance and to supermarkets, where shelves were set up for collection. The collected books were handed over to waste paper collection points in the amount of 50,000 hryvnias.The rest of the money for the car was contributed by benefactors. It is one of the supermarket chains. For $1,700, they bought an UAZ, which was ordered by the fighters of the 57th brigade, said the initiator of the collection. According to her, the military asked for the simplest car so that it would be easy to repair. The car was consecrated and handed over to the soldiers. On December 16, it was sent to Bakhmut. It will transport military personnel, ammunition and spare parts.

Anatolii Stoyan, the regional coordinator of the Active Community, worked at the humanitarian center of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, wished people a Merry Christmas, and helped IDPs in receiving holiday grocery sets, winter clothes and shoes.

Poltava Oblast

Ruslan Kisiolkin from the Poltava Oblast was killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. The soldier was the commander of the assault detachment of the A1910 military unit. Ruslan Kisiolkin died after two days of fighting for his life from wounds he received on December 15 near the settlement of Chervopopivka of the Kreminna Raion in the Luhansk Oblast.

The body of soldier Andrii Kiiashko was returned to his native Poltava Oblast 5 months after his death. Today, the Karlivka community held a solemn farewell to the defender who died in July near Bakhmut. After the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, Andrii Kiiashko served in the guard company, later – in the machine gun platoon of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhets. He died during artillery fire.

After 8 months of searching, the body of the 19-year-old soldier from Poltava Oblast will be returned home. Vladyslav Lytovskyi is the youngest of the 32 fallen defenders of the former Khorol Raion. He was a grenade launcher of a platoon of the fire support company of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The young soldier was considered missing, and his death was confirmed only on December 21. He died on April 17 near Sulihivka in the Kharkiv Oblast.

An ex-customs officer who helped the occupiers in Kharkiv Oblast will be tried in Poltava. He was engaged in the destruction of the state symbols of Ukraine, which were replaced by russian ones. According to his instructions, russian flags were hung at bus stops and other public places. After the liberation of the Kupiansk Raion, the man began to hide, but was detained. Currently, he continues to be incarcerated.

350 million hryvnias have been allocated to the oblast budget for 2023 for the development of the medical sector. In particular, 161 million hryvnias are intended for the purchase of new equipment. It is planned to purchase a single-photon emission computer tomograph with a laboratory for the oblast oncology dispensary and a computer tomograph for the oblast psychiatric care hospital.

Another batch of humanitarian aid arrived from the International Committee of the Red Cross: folding beds, mattresses, pillows, towels for internally displaced persons living in places of compact residence in the oblast communities.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

At night, the russians covered Nikopol with the fire from heavy artillery. As a result of the previous shelling of the Nikopol Raion, several private houses were damaged by enemy shells. In Nikopol, several private houses, 2 farm buildings and a gas pipeline were damaged. In the Marganets community, the property of the garden society was damaged. The garages and trucks of the industrial enterprise were destroyed by enemy shells. Power lines were cut in the Myrove community and Nikopol.

Dymytrii Prykhodko, a 46-year-old soldier from Kamianske, and Mykhailo Borysov, a 41-year-old soldier from Dnipro, were killed in Donetsk Oblast. Maksym Ivanov, a 31-year-old resident of the Pishchane community, died in the fighting against the occupiers in the Luhansk Oblast.

The Gleiuvatka community experienced a two-day blackout. Four “Points of Invincibility” were arranged there. In Dnipro, due to a power outage, 20 houses were left without heating today.

In Dnipro, the monument to soviet pilot valerii chkalov has begun to be dismantled.

The mayor of Dnipro discussed with rectors of local higher education institutions possible cooperation for the benefit of the citizens. The City Hall is ready for different scenarios and continues to join forces with everyone who wants to help take care of the city and its people.

The city government of Dnipro together with the TAPS-Ukraine foundation and the volunteer coordination headquarters sent dry rations, stew, canned vegetables, oil, pasta and sweets to Ukrainian defenders. IDPs who settled in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast were given food kits and hygiene products.

German partners – the state of North Rhine-Westphalia – handed over 370 generators to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The first batch of 264 generators has already arrived in the oblast. The rest will be delivered next week. Generators run on gasoline. Their total cost is 150,000 euros.

Also, Dnipro received a fully equipped ambulance from Germany thanks to the charity organization Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. and others.

In Dnipro, volunteers organized a holiday for the children of Ukrainian soldiers. Trainers of the Dnipro Canine Center, police officers and basketball players came to congratulate them on the New Year holidays. Children whose parents are currently defending the country are especially in need of support. The Dnipro Canine Center arranged a performance for the little ones.

Anton Tymoshenko, a stand-up artist from the village of Prymiske (Nikopol Raion), collected almost 1.5 million hryvnias for the military as part of the European tour. Anton Tymoshenko toured 9 cities and gave 13 concerts with the “Zhartuyu” [“I’m joking”] project. The boy traveled 5,500 kilometers on the way. The result of the performances – UAH 1,405,840 – was collected for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The “Carol of the Unbreakable”, the first concert of the Dnipro band “Vertep” this year, took place in Dnipro. Four of the band’s musicians have been soldiers since the beginning of the full-scale war. They serve in different units and in different directions, so they were able to gather to play together only now.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm. As of 4:30 p.m., two air alarms sounded.

In Rivne, a farewell ceremony was held for the fallen soldier. Roman Sosin, a 45-year-old native of Rivne, was solemnly buried yesterday in the Rivne community. Roman Sosin was a junior sergeant. He gave his life for the Motherland on December 15 in Kupiansk Raion of Kharkiv Oblast.

The Rivne Oblast Military Administration transferred 12 contract students to the state-funded form of education. These are the children of fallen defenders of Ukraine and one internally displaced person. All 12 students are studying in institutions of professional pre-higher education, i.e. colleges. This was done at the expense of the oblast budget within the regional order, the volume of which is approved until 2023, by redistributing the available vacancies.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The writer and volunteer from Zakarpattia Oblast Andrii Lyubka bought the 100th car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the funds of volunteers. The car will be transferred to the needs of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade, which protects Ukraine near Bakhmut.

A “modular town” will be built in Zakarpattia Oblast for internally displaced persons from Luhansk Oblast.
