Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
Kyiv receives stable amounts of electricity, but with limitations. They manage to be evenly distributed through temporary network reconnection schemes.
French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu arrived in Kyiv. This is his first visit to Ukraine since taking office in May. Lekornu plans to meet with the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

Bohuslav
For two days, an authentic caroling group of about 20 people went caroling in Bohuslav and the surrounding villages. The team of the project «Portal Through the Centuries: Bohuslav Kolyada» and the NGO «Navkolo Nas. UA [Around Us. UA]» aimed to recreate the ancient Bohuslav Kolyada in songs and congratulations, outfits and wishes. Carolers visited 26 locations and collected 27,456 hryvnias. All funds were transferred to the Boguslav volunteer headquarters.
The Center for the Revival of Traditions is actively working in Bohuslav. Creative New Year’s activities are held there during the week. Anyone willing will be able to learn the basics of skill to their liking. This week, 3 master classes will be held there: wool felting «New Year’s Felts», Petrykivka painting and a master class on making a gingerbread sweet gift.

The “Kashtan” kindergarten was restored in Byshev. It was almost completely destroyed by the invaders in March of this year. Zhytomyr Oblast

Today, the people of Zhytomyr carried out the last journey of Andrii Sedaikin, who died on May 1, defending the eastern borders of Kharkiv Oblast. Only now the Hero returned home. Eternal memory.
Passed on the location of a military unit to enemy intelligence – a Korosten citizen will be tried for treason. Thus, after receiving instructions from the russian curator, he informed about the location of checkpoints and the military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the raion, as well as the location of the strategic object of the defense industry. Volunteers of the Gennady Butkevich BGV Charitable Foundation and «Chysti sertsem [Pure in heart]» plan to distribute 20,000 food kits for people over 70 before the New Year. The first batch has already gone to six communities of Zhytomyr Oblast.
Chernihiv Oblast
On December 27, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded border guards from Chernihiv Oblast Oleksandr Tarnavskyi and posthumously Oleksandr Vyazovyk with the Order «For Courage» III degree.
Today, December 28, the mayor of Nizhyn, Oleksandr Kodola, and the mayor of the Finnish city of Imatra, Matias Hilden, signed a cooperation agreement online, with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Finland, Olga Dibrova. The twin cities agreed on cooperation in the following areas: economic development; agriculture; regional development; science and technology; preventive healthcare; education; culture and art; tourism; youth and sport; social sphere; ecology and rational use of natural resources.
On December 27, three soldiers who died in December near Bakhmut were buried in Chernihiv Oblast.
Sumy Oblast
On December 27, the russians shelled three border communities of Sumy Oblast: Seredyna-Buda, Shalygyne, and Esman. In the Esman community, a shell hit the homes of local residents. The house was destroyed, people managed to hide in the shelter.
The night of December 28 in Sumy Oblast passed without shelling from the russian side.
As Oleg Yevlash, head of the explosives department of the National Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy Oblast, reported, the police received a report from citizens that a part of a rocket was found near one of the settlements in the Sumy Oblast. Police explosives experts classified it as the main (combat) part of an air-to-ground missile, or an anti-tank guided missile. The projectile was dangerous, so it was destroyed at the place of discovery by detonation.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Today, the occupiers hit the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv with rockets. A 48-year-old man received a shrapnel wound. He is in the hospital in a moderate condition.
Yesterday, the enemy fired artillery, tanks, mortars and other weapons at the border areas of Kharkiv region and settlements located near the contact line. The Kupyansk direction suffers the most.
In Kupyansk and the village of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, private houses were damaged by enemy shelling.
Today at approximately 11:30 an enemy shell hit a residential apartment building in the village of Kivsharivka. The apartments were heavily damaged. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
Settlements of the Kharkiv and Chuguyiv raion were also under enemy fire.
According to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance, a 57-year-old woman suffered a blast injury in Kupyansk as a result of shelling. Hospitalized in serious condition.
A 47-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy were detonated in the forest by an explosive device in the village of Bugaivka, Chuguyiv raion. Both received blast injuries and were hospitalized. Doctors are now providing them with all the necessary help.
In addition, in the Izyum raion, a 23-year-old man blew himself up with an explosive device. He was taken to the hospital in a moderate condition.
The pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service continue demining. Over the past day, another 103 explosive objects were neutralized.
Donetsk Oblast
The shelling damaged the gas pipeline supplying gas to northern Donetsk Oblast. Repair crews are on site. With the help of the equipment, they determined the likely accident area and continued to search for the place where the gas pipeline was directly damaged. In addition, special heavy-duty equipment is involved in the work, as the terrain and weather conditions are extremely difficult. At present, gas consumption in the territory of Donetsk Oblast occurs only by private consumers. The operation of gas boilers has been stopped. The population is recommended to reduce gas consumption.
On the 27th of December, the russians wounded 3 civilians in Donetsk Oblast — in Bakhmut.
In total, since the 24th of February russian weapons have killed 1,281 civilians of Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 2,799. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsky raion
Maryinka came under fire in the Donetsk direction.
The previous evening, Avdiivka was subjected to massive artillery shelling of the old part, and at night and in the morning there were isolated airstrikes throughout the city – without casualties.

Luhansk Oblast
In Luhansk Oblast, the occupiers forcefully issue russian citizenship to children. Thus, in Luhansk Oblast, a procedure was introduced for submitting an application for recognition of a child living in the occupied territory and under the age of 14 as a russian citizen. Mykolayiv Oblast

Odesa Oblast
In compliance with the decision of the Odesa City Council session, the process of dismantling and moving the monument to the “Founders of Odesa” has begun. Its elements will be installed in the Odesa Art Museum.

Kherson Oblast
The russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 50 times with artillery, anti-aircraft guns, mortars and tanks the previous day, wounding three people.
The russian military attacked Kherson 23 times. Shells hit a medical facility, a kindergarten, a bakery, warehouses, private and apartment buildings.
On the 27th of December, the russian military shelled two settlements in the Berislav raion: Tyaginka and Berislav. Damaged civil infrastructure, houses and farm buildings. There are no casualties or injuries.
As a result of shelling by russian troops in the village of Kizomys in the Kherson Oblast, three people were injured. Among them is a 14-year-old child. All are currently in hospital.
Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” Civil Resistance Movement remind that “Genichesk is a Ukrainian city!” Flyers and ribbons are posted in the city every day.
Central Oblasts
Kirovohrad Oblast
Three more “Points of Invincibility” were opened in Kropyvnytskyi. If necessary, they will be ready to provide accommodation to the citizens on New Year’s Eve and during the winter holidays.
In Dolynska in Kirovohrad oblast, the military received 20 orders for housing.
Vinnytsia Oblast
The Kalynivska community of Khmilnyk raion is in grief again – defender Viktor Horetskyi was killed in the battles for his native Ukraine on the night of December 25. The Hero was born on 1 st September in1988 in Zalyvanshchyna.
Viktor Horetskyi defended Ukraine in 2014, he was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. And from the first days of the full-scale war, he took up arms again.
Mykola Konovalchuk was buried in the Samhorodok community of Khmilnyk raion. He died on Christmas, on December 25.
Kalynivka Mayor Vasyl Polishchuk handed over a fast-charging unit with the patriotic name “Bandera Power” to the commander of one of the military units stationed on the territory of the Kalynivka community. This is a product of the Vinnytsia enterprise “Promavtomatyka”. The unit can be used to recharge smartphones, tablets, etc. The battery capacity of “Bandera Power” is enough to recharge more than 30 phones. This unit weighs only 6-8 kilograms.
Poltava Oblast
Ukraine has returned the body of a fallen 20-year-old defender of Mariupol from Poltava oblast.
Vadym Motiienko was killed in March, defending the hero city of Mariupol while working at Azovstal. In April, the warrior was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the III degree by the decree of the President of Ukraine.
Anatoliy Kirian, a sergeant was killed in the war. The village of Velyka Bahachka – Kriukove. The man was born in 1978. Before the war, he worked as a security guard at an enterprise. On July 13, a soldier was killed near Maryinka (Donetsk oblast) as a result of artillery shelling.
Under the defense program, Poltava covers the economic needs of the military but does not buy military goods such as drones or thermal imagers. Detailed information about the goods purchased for the defenders remains classified, but the list of goods mostly includes household items, tactical footwear, beds, hygiene products, etc. In total, 150 million hryvnias were spent under the Poltava Resistance program.
20 housing modules were handed over jointly with the regional council to the defenders of the 116th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces. Each module contains four sets of bunk beds, a metal wardrobe, and a stove with a shoe dryer. These modules, both above and below ground, can be connected to electricity or a generator. They are improved in accordance with the wishes of the military.
Two oligarchs from Poltava oblast entered the rating of the richest people in Ukraine. Because of the war, their wealth has decreased, but not enough to lose their positions among the wealthy part of society. Kostyantyn Zhevago with a fortune of 1.4 billion dollars took 5th place in the ranking. Andriy Verevskyi with 400 million dollars is in the 16th position. On December 27, Konstantin Zhevago was detained at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation in one of the hotels in Courchevel by representatives of the police of the French Republic. On December 28, it is planned to elect the extradition arrest of Zhevago in the court of Chambéry.
Almost 3 thousand people, who moved as a result of the full-scale war, live in the educational institutions of the community. Most of them are large families, families with small children, and people over 60 years old. The IDPs who live in educational institutions receive food and consumables at the expense of the community budget. As a rule, IDPs master working professions. Instead, IDPs who rent housing in Poltava or live with relatives on the private territory are more likely to work in a sphere in which they gained education.
Western Oblasts
Rivne Oblast
UNHCR handed over two 165 kW generators and one 300 kW device to municipal institutions of Rivne Oblast. They were received by the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital named after Yurii Semeniuk; Rivne Regional Specialized Dispensary of Radiation Protection of the Population; Rivneoblvodokanal.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Bukovyna has seen off the soldiers who defended the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
