Ukraine in brief:

The sixty-sixth day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.

A group of enemy troops continues to launch airstrikes and artillery shelling in the city of Kharkiv. The occupiers are trying to attack in the directions of Izyum – Barvinkove and Izyum – Slovyansk.

The enemy continues to concentrate forces and resources both in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kharkiv oblast and in the Belgorod oblast, in the immediate vicinity of the state border of Ukraine.

The enemy is increasing the air defense system, conducting air reconnaissance of the positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the use of UAVs in the settlements of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Ivanivka, Chervone, Kurulka, Dovhenke, Nova Dmytrivka and Barvinkove.

Russian occupation forces continue to carry out illegal actions in the occupied territories of the Kharkiv oblast. According to available information, the enemy is forcibly deporting the population to the territory of the Russian Federation. The occupiers are spreading misinformation about the capture of Kharkiv, Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.

In the Donetsk direction, the enemy is conducting active hostilities along almost the entire line of contact. Airstrikes and artillery shelling of Ukrainian defenders’ positions continue. The main efforts of the enemy are focused on offensive operations in the Lyman, Severodonetsk, Popasnyansky and Kurakhiv areas in order to take full control of the settlements of Rubizhne, Popasna and, probably, a further attack on the Lyman, Slovyansk and Barvinkove.

In the Mariupol direction, the enemy continued to launch airstrikes on the city of Mariupol. The main efforts are focused on blocking units of the Defense Forces in the area of ​​the Azovstal plant.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy regrouped and increased artillery units in order to continue the offensive.

In the Kherson oblast, the enemy continues demonstrative actions in order to prevent the transfer of units of our troops to other areas, and replenish stocks of ammunition and fuel and lubricants.

In the Mykolayiv oblast, the occupiers are fighting to improve their tactical position. The enemy continues to regroup units, and take measures to replenish supplies.

The occupiers are spreading misinformation about the threat to the population of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova from Ukraine.

The Russian occupiers are launching missile and bomb attacks and carrying out artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas in the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv oblasts.

Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Kyiv authorities have urged citizens, including drivers, not to travel around the city in private vehicles unnecessarily due to fuel shortages. At the same time, public transport continues to operate.

Kyiv oblast

The shells of a Mi-8 shot down in March were blown up in Makarov.

A pit with the bodies of three men was found in the territory of Bucha district, who were tortured by russian soldiers and then brutally killed.

Zhytomyr oblast

There was an air alarm;

At the Smolyan military cemetery, they said goodbye to serviceman Ruslan Mashkivsky.

In Zhytomyr, three city residents were informed about the suspicion. They campaigned for support of russian aggression.

Chernihiv oblast

In the afternoon, Ukrainian border guards recorded shelling from the territory of russia near the Ukrainian checkpoint “Senkivka” in the Chernihiv oblast. The enemy fired about 40 shots from a 120-mm mortar. Border guards were not injured.

At the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, the court arrested 51 Belarusian tank cars that crossed the border in the Chernihiv oblast on the eve of the Russian invasion on February 23. The tanks were filled with 3,000 tons of Belarusian and Russian diesel fuel and actually provided logistics for the occupying Russian troops advancing in the direction of Chernihiv-Sumy.

In the unoccupied territories of the Chernihiv oblast, citizens are forbidden to visit cemeteries. After the shelling by Russian troops, many explosives remained on the territory and almost three thousand monuments were destroyed.

A monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was dismantled on April 30 in Chernihiv.

Sumy oblast

There was an air alarm. The situation is under control.

Last night in the Shostka district there was shelling from a russian helicopter. No one was injured. The head of the regional military administration suggests that such provocative shelling is being carried out so that no one comes close to the border. Starting from Sumy, Konotop and Shostka districts – shelling from the territory of russia. The head of the oblast explains that two-thirds of the oblast’s territory is periodically shelled from the russian border.

At the border of the Sumy and Chernihiv oblast, hydrologists record floods on the Desna River. Desnyansko-Starogutsky National Park said that the water level in the river is currently the highest in 9 years.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The shelling of Kharkiv continued at night, in particular, in the extreme eastern residential areas of Saltivka and Northern Saltivka.

Over the past day, russian troops carried out 3 artillery attacks on Kharkiv.

Izium remains a hot spot. The enemy tried to advance near the settlements of Sulyhivka and Dovhenke. They failed, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine hold the defense and inflict heavy losses on the russians.

Donetsk Oblast

In the Donetsk Oblast, the russian army continues shelling. As a result, seven people were wounded in Dobropillia, including three children. At least six houses and one non-residential premises were damaged.

Besides, yesterday in Privillia, russian troops fired a missile at a school, damaging also neighboring houses.

Kramatorsk

The situation remains alarming.

No actions of the enemy were recorded in the city. The city is operating normally. Cleaning of the territory and asphalting of roads continues.

Fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces are preparing to confront the enemy.

An increasing number of people are trying to return to the city because they do not have enough money to rent housing in other regions of the country.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” negotiated the supply of medicines for the needs of the residents, and continues to coordinate the work of the humanitarian aid center.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

The enemy carries out intense hostilities along the entire line of contact. In the Kurakhovo sector, the grouping of invaders was reinforced by additional artillery units from the 1st Army Corps.

Marinka: the invaders inflict artillery strikes on residential areas and try to assault the city. Over the past day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Avdiivka and Soloviove.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are repelling another attempt at an offensive by the russian occupation forces. Representatives of the local Territorial Defense Forces keep watch in the community.

The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively quiet. There were no shelling, destructions, wounded or killed among the civilian population. Public utilities continue to operate as normal.

The Myrnohrad community is experiencing fuel shortages, problems with urban transport, and there is an urgent need for medicines. Branches of Oschadbank do not work, but ATMs of Privatbank and Oschadbank are regularly replenished with cash. Public utilities operate as usual and provide the required services.

In the city of Rodynske, a supporter of russian propagandists was taken into custody, with the alternative of posting bail in the maximum amount provided for this offense – UAH 198,480. He faces imprisonment for up to 8 years with confiscation of property.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, a man was exposed and reported suspected of distributing materials containing justification of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014.

Mariupol

Every day the russians are turning the once flourishing seaside town into a ghetto. The invaders set up a checkpoint in the center of Mariupol. Filtration measures are being taken at the checkpoint. Starting next week, the russians will issue special permits for the right to be on the streets.

 

Southern oblasts

Odesa Oblast

In the border areas of the Odesa Oblast, in particular along the unrecognized Transnistria, the situation is stable and controlled by the defense forces. The threat of missile strikes from the sea remains.

From tomorrow, an extended curfew will be imposed in the oblast from 22:00 on May 1 to 05:00 on May 3.

Russian troops launched a missile strike on the Odessa Oblast, damaging the runway of the airport. Its further use is impossible. So far, this is all the official information from the operational command “South”.

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The invaders fired at the settlements of Velyka Kostroma, Mala Kostromka and Marianske from the Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. A man was killed. Several houses and cars were damaged. Some outbuildings were destroyed. In the Apostolove community a resident picked up a cluster munition of the russians, which detonated, killing him. Enemy shells hit one of the villages in the Velyka Mykhailivka territorial community and in the Shyroke community. The shells hit the residential sector and household buildings. Difficult situation is observed in Kryvyi Rih and Synelnykove raions. The number of medical teams has been increased.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down an enemy drone.

The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast received more than 172 thousand internally displaced persons. During April, at the initiative of the oblast authorities, almost 20,000 food packages were collected for IDPs in the Oblast.

In the city of Dnipro, a concert “Life will win” took place in the metro, where “Vopli Vidopliasova”, Pianoboy and “95th Kvartal” performed free of charge for the local residents.

Hanna Tytova from Dnipro raised more than two thousand dollars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by selling her drawings. They depict cats in the form of soldiers, police, rescuers, volunteers and others.

In the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former aide to the liquidated leader of the DNR terrorists Oleksandr Zakharchenko. She was responsible for media promotion and information support for the activities of pro-russian terrorists.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Calm, without air alarms. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are guarding the borders of the oblast and military facilities. The Territory Defense Forces are on duty at checkpoints and patrolling the city together with the police.

The flow of migrants is increasing in the Kirovohrad region. There are more than 5,000 of them as of today. Therefore, the organization of resettlement centers becomes more important.

The second humanitarian center to help internally displaced persons will start to work in Kropyvnytskyy. It will be managed by the Charity Foundation “Planeta”. This was announced by the Secretary of the Kropyvnytsyy City Council Oleh Kolyuka.

Kropyvnytskyy artist and 3D fashion designer Tata Barvytska has created a digital image of a Ukrainian woman, which she used to apply for the selection for the creation of an international collection dedicated to the war in Ukraine.

Crimean pine trees were sown in the Veseli Bokovenky nursery.

The coordinator of the “Active Community” was assisting the IDPs in finding housing for permanent residence, as well as in finding a job.

 

Poltava Oblast

There were several air alarms in Poltava region.

Four people are being checked for cooperation with the enemy. In total for the last days the police checked more than 1 100 vehicles and more than 2,130 people.

Poltava Oblast has received another humanitarian aid from Poland consisting of 54 tons of food.

The oblast will not celebrate the Victory Day in World War II on May 9th.

Fuel shortages at gas stations are planned to be eliminated within a week with a slight price increase.

Internally displaces persons in Poltava can receive a one-time financial aid from the Caritas Poltava Charitable Foundation. In Poltava, psychological support groups “Poruch” are being opened for those whose usual life was broken by the war.

The Ecopark in Kovalivka continues to receive displaced animals from the Kharkiv “Feldman Ecopark”.

The coordinator of “Active Community” announced the creation of a conversational online club “Ukrainian – above all!”

Vinnytsya Oblast

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have been transferred to an enhanced mode of service. Representatives of the local Territory Defense Forces terrorist are on duty in the community.

Khmilnyk community has once again received humanitarian aid from friendly European countries – Poland and Germany. Residents of Warsaw and Krakow, together with city leaders, have raised donations for Ukraine. The cargo with humanitarian aid also arrived from the city of Koblenz (Germany). Humanitarian aid included food, personal hygiene products and household supplies, medicines, clothing, baby food, children’s goods, blankets and more.

The Mayor of Khmilnyk Mykola Yurchyshyn conducted an online dialogue with Mr. Krzysztof Fitzon, Mayor of Berawa (Poland), and Ms. Eugenia Brylyant, Head of the Union of Poles in Khmilnyk, who is currently in Poland. On behalf of the community, the mayor thanked the Poles for their sincere cooperation and great kindness during the war and spoke about the current challenges facing our community to support the city and surrounding villages, care for people and social protection of IDPs who have found temporary refuge in the community. The Polish colleague asked the mayor what help was needed, adding that together with the residents of the community they are forming another portion of the aid (walkie-talkies, medicines, hemostatic devices and medicines, beds) and were getting ready to send them to Ukraine as soon as possible to accelerate the victory.

22 tons of sugar will be transferred from Vinnytsya to Dnipropetrovsk oblast. This is part of the humanitarian aid received from the Swiss Confederation. Also, 420 tons of bottled water will be transferred from Vinnytsya to residents of Mykilayiv, who have been facing disrupted water supply for over 2 weeks because of the russian rocket strike, which destroyed the city water supply system.

Western regions

Lviv Region

Drogobych

There were two air alerts in the city.

The community received and resettled another 1,009 people who were forced to leave their homes. As of February 24, according to official data, 337,000 IDPs have been sheltered in the Lviv region. 210,000 IDPs have already registered as internally displaced persons, 68,000 of them are children.

More than 100 Ukrainian enterprises were moved to Lviv Oblast. 115 enterprises have already been relocated to Lviv Oblast, 54 of which have started operating in full. In total, the region received 770 applications for business relocation, these applications are currently being processed.

Together, the Lviv Regional State Administration, the International Staff for Assistance to Ukrainians (ISAU), the National Police of Ukraine, and the Lviv Defense Cluster provided bulletproof vests and nutrition packages to Kharkiv Oblast Police.

The sowing campaign in Lviv region is overdoing the last year’s pace. Now the sowing of early spring crops is being completed in the region.

Since the beginning of the war, 268 children have been born in regional maternity hospitals in Lviv Oblast – 122 boys and 146 girls.

Hollywood actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was spotted at the “Lviv Croissants” Coffee House.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The situation in the Ivano-Frankivsk community is calm.

Civic organizations are holding the events to support citizens who have been forced to move to the community, including the charity activity “Book Circulation” with a motto “A nation that reads is invincible.” During the month of this activity, librarians have collected and distributed more than a thousand of Ukrainian-language books to IDPs.

The embroidered shirt, worn by Queen Letizia of Spain in early March in support of Ukraine, was embroidered by a woman from Ivano-Frankivsk who now lives in Madrid.

Residents of the community called on OSCE representatives who have suspended their mission in Ukraine to donate their cars and office equipment that are currently “out of work” to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm, there were no air alarms. The Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with belarus. Representatives of the Territorial Defense patrol and are on duty at checkpoints.

A Citizens’ Safety Center was opened in the third community of Rivne oblast. It unites: a fire station with a community control point; base of emergency medical care brigade; police station:

Citizens are united, help volunteer headquarters financially and immaterially.

There is a strong volunteer headquarters in each community. Citizens make talismans, draw pictures for the defenders of Ukraine; prepare meat stews; sew what is necessary for the needs of the Territorial Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine; collect, sort and send humanitarian aid to the affected regions and Ukrainian soldiers

In Rivne, the last honor was given to two young defenders of Ukraine.

The city organized a race in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and residents of Kharkiv and Sumy. The open running championship was organized on April 30 by the Rivne Running Club. The race was called “an unofficial run”. The funds transferred for participation will go to purchase a car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and help residents of Sumy and Kharkiv.

Chernivtsi oblast (Bukovyna)

The situation in Bukovyna is under control, the passage is safe.

Since February 24, more than a hundred cars have been confiscated from drunk drivers in the Chernivtsi oblast for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Spanish organization “Remar S.O.S” will increase its charitable capacity in Bukovyna. Currently, the humanitarian base operating on Soborna Square feeds about a thousand IDPs a day with hot lunches. There are also an entertainment area for children, a medical center, handing out clothes.

In Chernivtsi, the company “Automotive Electric”, which manufactures cables and wires for cars, employed almost 30 IDPs.

From the humanitarian headquarters of Bukovyna 500 food kits were sent to Kyiv oblast.

Maria Chorna is an internally displaced person from the Kharkiv oblast. Before the war, she worked as a presenter on the DJFM radio station, conducted entertaining quests, played in the Club of cheerful and clever. The girl weaves camouflage nets, sews balaclavas and bulletproof vests.

The coordinators of the AUI “Active Community” continue to help the social cuisine on the basis of the city school.

Zakarpattya Oblast

The President of Ukraine awarded the Golden Star Order to the Deputy Commander of the “Zakarpattya Legion”.

Creative volunteers of Uzhhorod make motanka dolls for the installation “Little Angels of Ukraine”. They also organize the sale of products that children left for charity. The raised funds will be donated to the Zakarpattya Military Support Movement.

In Uzhgorod, two actresses staged a performance at the Art Gallery “Shelter”. They are IDPs who worked in different cities, but in the same direction. And the war introduced them. The essence of the performance is to show two parallel worlds. One at the bottom – war – is a shelter, limited space that can provide security. The other one above – art – shows the infinity of the human imagination and the ability to manage incoming information.
